Even so, I still give members with join dates 09' and below more respect than any member above. I don't know, I just do.

Off course you give them more respect but it doesn't mean they are always right. In a discussion everyone's post should be regarded equally valid. I respect omnis dei and other here but I'm not afraid to have a discussion with them because they dont act like the emperor of the unniverse.

It's fine for respecting someone who has been here a long time than someone who hasn't. But saying someone is bad because of their join date would get you banned.

I'm also glad we don't. Over the years it looked like it was trying to go that direction a couple times, but it fortunately got diffused in one way or another. I haven't noticed any staff now-a-days that are too high and mighty for their britches.

That said, I'm so happy to be an admin now when the forums has grown even bigger, and there is such a warm sense of community overall. Means more focus on lucid dreaming and less police work. Other than spam, yuck.

What's the deal with Teal names? Is that part of the "shop" Alex implemented?

And wasn't the old requirement 5 years of being active to get the "veteran" status? One of the ways to get into the community forum. By that I mean the old community forum.

Ophelia, Nina, Seeker and OZ were the main people I remember who really made DV what it was when I first joined. Along with BillyBob but I don't think he's around any more.

Go back about 6 years in the Post Pictures of Yourself thread and you will see some of those DV members in very interesting poses.

Ah, memories....

I have been in and out of DV's life since 2006. I started with an interest in carlos castaneda and wanted to improve my dreaming. I am most fascinated with Shared dreams and astral projection. DV also saw me through a most crazed phase of my life where I believed every conspiracy theory i could get my hands on. I have grown much since then. I can also just be a regular joe. CT is just so silly now.

I had a short lived life as a DG. and also used to do audio intervews through skype for dreamviews podcasts.

I went through a phase similar to this, but you're much "luckier" in that you had this environment while going through that phase. While every forum has their good points, it's hard to find one where those good points aren't over shadowed by a poor basis, and DV isn't one of those, thankfully.
