Just came to say that I also experience that sensation of the heart stopping when falling asleep lucid. First time it happened it was really scary, now I have even experienced it when meditating. It is the exact moment when the body "falls asleep" but the mind "forgets" to do the same and we feel consciously the body shutting down. The heart doesn't stop, but our mind stops feeling the body sensations, so it feels like the heart is stopping because essentially we stop feeling it. It's scary for the first miliseconds but then followed by immense bliss

Sounds like the dreams I used to have when under a huge amount of stress that kicked in my PTSD. Took a lot of inner work to clear that up. Stress is the killer of a good dream-life.
WBTB is one of the most effective ways to increase success. MILD is highly effective and beginner friendly (or returning veteran after a long time away). Build strong intent, and adopt a critically reflective attitude towards your experiences in waking life. In short, *be* lucid in waking life, and lucidity in dream will follow. Of course follow the standard advice: build dream recall, DJ, etc. It never hurts to re-read the first 3 chapters of ETWOLD. The ETWOLD approach is so effective that I think that's all one really needs to get back into it. Some people like SSILD, but I never found it worked for me. LDing is highly personal, experiment, and find what works for you. Good luck!
