Morning of May 4, 2018. Friday. My dream starts with the very common liminal awareness of my physical body being in bed as I sleep, but I do not attain viable lucidity. My dream still renders a bed as my dream’s setting, though the location is unknown and undefined and I absentmindedly perceive it more as serving as a table upon which to play the card game. In fact, even though I am aware of playing Gin Rummy with several other people, I do not ever actually see them. I am on my left side (as I am in reality as I sleep) looking at the several piles of playing cards, some face up, each pile with a few cards, some spread out more. I am trying to remember what I need to do next. However, as my dream self in non-lucidity has neither viable access to the unconscious nor the conscious self identity, I remain uncertain of the rules (even though I have played Gin Rummy in real life numerous times). I gather up all the cards to shuffle them and start to deal them out, but then I consider that this is probably wrong. My dream becomes more abstract and I soon wake. This dream was a result of watching “Think Tank” (a television game show) with Zsuzsanna, when a question about Gin Rummy was asked of one contestant and he got it wrong. It is interesting how the simplest random event can integrate into the dreaming and waking processes, but is there a real reason in this case? The question was about the highest-ranking card in Gin Rummy, of which the answer is “King”. I suspect that this correlates with potential liminal dream control in the dream state for a few reasons. One, the presence of the dream state indicator (me being on the bed). Two, my passive dream self allowing the preconscious to modulate rather than a thread of my conscious self identity taking control of my dream. Three, this dream is of the type based on thinking skills correlation, to induce synaptic gating for triggering consciousness.

Morning of June 23, 1987. Tuesday. I am in a completely unfamiliar region in late afternoon. I am exploring an area that seems to be somewhat like an airport, though quite strange in design. There is a high scallop-shaped platform (with primarily black, silver, and red decor, including a black carpet or softly textured floor) that people have to climb, fairly steep, but somewhat miniature steps to get up to, seemingly a bit inconvenient - and it seems people have to take all of their own luggage up to the high platform. It is probably about two stories as I believe there is at least one landing above ground-level. The steps go up from the side opposite the fan-shaped expanse. There also seems to be a semicircular railing on the highest part of the structure; the side opposite where people are mostly sitting at ground-level below. After time passes, I start to think that the airplanes are probably more like hovercrafts or flying saucers (though of entirely human design and origin), as I do not quite understand how the system works, as I reason that airplanes cannot really stop in midair at any time, which is what the scallop-shaped platform seems to indicate (that is, for flying craft to stop or hover right near or above it). I get the impression that one flight of steps may be an escalator but I am not certain. I am also considering whether or not I really need to be here, though it seemingly relates to my “mystery girl” at one point. Vestibular system correlation happens continuously throughout REM sleep and has been the primary cause of autosymbolism in my dreams since earliest memory. This is mainly influenced by the dream self unable to viably perceive the status of the physical body, especially in regard to the dream self discerning itself as vertical when the physical body is horizontal. The design of the platform validates this, as a seashell is associated with inner ear dynamics (balance) and holding it up to one’s ear to supposedly “hear the ocean”. The common “staircase as consciousness shift” autosymbolism also occurs here.
Night of May 3, 2018. Thursday. In my dream, in full lucidity, I hover in an incorporeal form above a bird nest of mostly straw in early morning daylight. Within the bird nest are about seven gray creatures, with minimal white areas, that are all joined as one mass. Looking more closely, I still cannot determine if they are baby birds or kittens, although the form changes from time to time and I can sometimes make out legs or parts of wings. They seem to breathe as one. There is also an association with baby rabbits for a short time. Realizing that the autosymbolism is tied in to the typical vestibular system correlation of which is inherent to the dream state itself, my focus shifts very slightly. The creatures, still as one singular mass, rise into the air, to become a circle of only sparse fur or hair, hovering about a foot above the nest, and now of only about ten percent of the volume of the original feature. I focus on the change and I think of it as thin gray thread. It continues to hover in the air as a floating horizontally-oriented wreath made of thin thread of the color of Spanish moss.
Afternoon of May 4, 2018. Friday. This entry is for presenting a more concise understanding of some of the material of part one. Lucid dreaming does not equate to having control of the dream state or of a dream. In fact, some dream journalists express terror in dreams when they become lucid, with far less conscious self identity control than in their non-lucid dreams. Having control of dreams and even of certain processes of the dream state does not require lucidity. It seems to be a result of understanding RAS mediation from early childhood on, to where the virtuous circle effect becomes inherent in REM sleep. Most people have the inability (liminal space blindness) to understand that non-lucid dreams are autosymbolic, not symbolic in the conventional sense, which means that a dream’s autosymbolism, especially the induction and waking process, represents the dream state and waking process itself, concurrently. RAS mediation and RAS modulation sometimes utilize waking life experiences, but they do not “represent” them. If there is no waking life conflict, RAS personification will still have the potential to be rendered as a waking alert persona, even in lucid dreams, especially when environmental noise is present, or when biological factors need to be addressed, such as hunger or the need to use the toilet. There are also literal threads (and of course prescience and other transpersonal factors) that integrate into the dreaming experience. I have experienced viable lucidity in dreams continuously since earliest memory with no attempt to bring it about. This means that terms such as “practice” and “skills” have zero meaning for me. Additionally, the concept of “reality checks” or “reality testing” I cannot even comprehend anymore, though I have played around with various ideas I have read since childhood. (Some people actually do this, that is, actually ask themselves if they are dreaming at various points during the day. I am not making that up.) If I know I am awake, why question it? Presumably, this is an attempt to utilize the virtuous circle effect, but all that is required by way of the virtuous circle effect is to viably understand the dream state in the first place and to study what one is dreaming and have a feasible approach to working with dreams. “Reality checks” imply not even understanding that the subconscious self is not the conscious self, or that the preconscious, RAS personification, and transpersonal interconsciousness are not, either. The Wake Back to Bed Method of lucid dreaming may work for some people due to the change in ultradian rhythm. In fact, any change will cause changes in dream content, including sleeping in a different orientation and especially sleeping in a different house. Facing toward an open window or open door while sleeping is inherently more likely to augment preconscious mediation (and modulation) as a throwback to the survival factor of RAS modulation. A more vivid dream will likely result, not necessarily lucid, but possibly. (Sleeping in a different location may also trigger nightmares.) Now I will look into some dream self modes based on these two entries. The more lucid, the more accurate the subconscious self mirrors and models the conscious self identity to where consciousness is perceived as existing in the dream state (though this is somewhat of a misnomer, as otherwise lucid dreaming does not imply being conscious; only holding the awareness of the conscious self). The dream self can be non-lucid and control the dream (by way of subliminal conscious self modulation and the virtuous circle effect of dream study with the understanding of key autosymbolism). The dream self can be non-lucid and have minimal or no control of the dream due to preconscious modulation. The dream self can be lucid yet not only not have control of the dream but be in a conscious self state of terror. (I have personally never experienced this other than when my dream’s modulation was biologically premonitory, but many people have written of it as an apparently automatic process for them.) The dream self can be lucid and have partial control of the dream state. The dream self can be lucid and have full control of the dream state by way of the summoning factor (apex lucidity). The dream self can be in a state of lucid omnipresence or being the dream state itself. This is utilized by manipulating waking process autosymbolism such as doors, staircases, or deliberately jumping from a high point as well as “freezing” the perception of vestibular system autosymbolism (for example, willing the manifestation of bird silhouettes hovering in midair - the “frozen bird shadow” effect I have utilized since early childhood, as well as the obsidian owl statue or the “cobra in the hayloft” events of very early childhood). Thank you for reading. This concludes the two-part set “Redefining Dream Control as Unrelated to Lucidity”.
Afternoon of May 4, 2018. Friday. Writing an entry such as this is very challenging in a world where almost everything believed and propagated about dreams by the public is fallacious (in respect to my own personal experience since earliest memory). This is mainly due to liminal space blindness, which is the inability of someone to understand the meaning of his or her own dream even in what would otherwise be the hypnopompic disclosure stage, especially when threads of the subliminal conscious self are responsible for much of a non-lucid dream’s content (though this excludes prescience and transpersonal mediation). In this entry, I will attempt to address the widespread misinformation about lucid dreaming at a simple enough level for the average person to grasp. Ultimately, I can only write about what I know to be true and of which I have directly experienced continuously for over fifty years. It is not, and never shall be, a target of debate by the unknowing. An unfortunate term I coined years ago has apparently confused a number of people even though I often describe it as clearly as I can each time. “Subliminal lucidity” is an ambiguous term, problematic for most people (especially those who have not had the experience), and needs rewording as “liminal dream control”. This will be a more consistent and technically correct term within the totality of my lifelong work. Realistically however, it is infeasible to describe the dynamics of a condition that people cannot even perceive foundationally, but it does provide a more logical term for the condition. “Subliminal lucidity” is a misnomer, as it was meant to mean control of the dream state in non-lucidity, where the dream self identity has non-lucid ties to the conscious self identify. Of course, dream control itself is not evidence of viable lucidity either, which requires extant current conscious self identity, not just vividness. Some people confuse “vivid” with “lucid”. “Vivid” means the dream seems very realistic, while in contrast, “lucid” means being concurrently aware that it is a dream. Ultimately, “subliminal” should not even be used as a descriptive factor of the dream self’s mode, as the subconscious self is already a subliminal persona. A perceived need to use the word to relate the dream self to the dream in contrast to the conscious self identity is probably also a factor of ambiguity that the average person would likely not grasp, as most people seem to misperceive the “I am“ of the dream self as being analogous to the conscious self’s “I am”. I have tried to come up with a better term, but all are taken, for example, supraliminal, as even though it can be used to contrast the conscious self in respect to the dream self, it is only valid while within the dream state, as it otherwise is a reference to being above the threshold of waking life conscious awareness. So far, there does not seem to be a feasible word to describe the synaptic gating of liminal dream control, by which the dream self is non-lucid but the conscious will (not conscious in-dream awareness) is extant. I will explain here why this change is forthcoming (with all references to “subliminal lucidity” to be removed and tagged with different keywords depending on the dream). Lucid dreaming does not inherently correlate with controlling a dream. Controlling a dream does not inherently correlate with being lucid. Therefore, the term “subliminal lucidity” is of no use to those who do not have a basic grasp of the difference between being lucid and being in control of the dream state. I have had as many dreams of which I have modulated by way of subliminal threads of my conscious self’s will (not necessarily current, for example in fully controlling a dream without even having any viable memory of the last twenty years of my life), by way of my subconscious self, as I have in various states of lucidity. Here I must still clarify the obvious according to current consensus. Being lucid, in consensus terminology, means that the subconscious self is aware that it is in the dream state to where many more viable threads of the current conscious self’s identity, desire, and will are extant than in non-lucidity, but in stark contrast, controlling a dream means influencing features and content, including by the summoning factor (both subliminally and non-subliminally). One does not depend on the other. I emphasize this because many people propagate the mistaken belief that dream control only occurs with being lucid. In fact, a person’s dream self can be lucid without having any control of the dream state at all (for example, lucid nightmares). A person’s dream self can modulate the dream features and content over that of the preconscious factor or RAS precursors without having any awareness of being in the dream state, and typically for me, without even having any memory of what a dream is. A full understanding of this is required for coherent thinking about dreams in general. The falsehood of lucidity equating control must be dissolved for one to develop a full understanding of the dream state. Dream control in non-lucidity has been continuous for me since early childhood and over time, has developed by way of the virtuous circle effect. Additionally, the conscious self identity’s expectation is a major part of a dream’s autosymbolism, of which I have understood the meanings of for over fifty years. This is important because there are a number of people, including a number of religious zealots, who believe that a dream can never be controlled or influenced at all even in lucidity. What they express provides proof that they have zero understanding of either lucidity, dream control, or even hold a basic understanding of dreams. Neither the truth nor even a thread of truth is even visible to them. All they could do is deny what they could not even comprehend (liminal space blindness). In part two, I will try to simplify the information in this entry with a more concise approach of certain concepts and a list of possible dream self modes, of which are otherwise inherently transient through the different stages of sleeping and dreaming.
Morning of May 2, 2018. Wednesday. My dream self is sustained in liminal space in a setting that is implied to be outside at nighttime, rendered mostly as a featureless field with short grass. I am sitting in a lawn chair. My orientation is subliminally perceived as facing north. Several unfamiliar people in the area are also lounging on lawn chairs. On my right, I see a cane toad on the ground about four feet away. It hops up in slow motion and lands softly on the right arm of my lawn chair but does not touch me. I consider if people are wondering if it is my pet, but I know it is not. I am not contemplating any venomous nature of the creature and do not see it as a threat. Still, I do not want it near me. It somehow ends up on my left side, on the ground and about three feet away. Its body begins to make unusual movements. Its back is featured somewhat like a beetle’s elytra, though unusual irregular butterfly wings partially emerge from its sides. Its back flexes upward but the wings do not spread and it does not fly. It reminds me very vaguely of the two large fly ashtrays my father bought in the 1970s. (My parents never smoked; the fly ashtrays were kept as a bizarre novelty and decoration.) It almost seems to have the essence of a kitten regarding its interest in me as perhaps seeing me as its master. A subliminal focus is preventing the completion of the RAS modulation. Something very similar happened in a dream of February 10 of this year, also with a cane toad, but that one was carried about in slow motion by the wind. It is subliminal dream control; an otherwise lucid mechanism that I am utilizing in non-lucidity. In addition to the subtle vestibular system correlation (though the cane toad’s wings are never fully spread out for flight), it seems likely to be based on the typical softening of the core RAS factor otherwise rendered as a snake. Otherwise, cane toads and toads in general are not very common in my dreams, despite being associated more with vestibular system correlation than a snake would be (though as a snake is the core RAS modulation factor, it does not require the additional vestibular association). For cane toads, my online journal at this time only features them in four entries inclusive of this one, two from 2018, the other two from 2014 and 2013. The subliminal RAS softening is additionally evidenced by the cane toad being oriented on my right (as waking orientation within a dream is most often to my right when I sleep on my left side, since my right side is then more exposed to my real environment) - then inexplicably to my left.

Morning of May 2, 2018. Wednesday. My dream begins with the very common circadian rhythm correlation of the “something wrong with the sun” factor. In late afternoon, I am in a distortion of my Cubitis home, on the east side of the living room, though it is implied as our present home. I become aware that the sun is becoming too hot for life to continue on Earth. Thus, this is a typical “end of the world” theme (though these are rarely nightmarish for me in the way described by other people), which has occurred on a regular basis for over fifty years. I perceive much of the solar system as being oriented above and beyond the house to the east, with the implication there is no detail rendered elsewhere (such as beyond the other side of the world or to the west). This is surreal, as there are vestibular dynamics where I seem to “fall” into outer space in a dream within a dream and then shift back into my original dream’s setting without waking or with any perceived concurrent threat or concern other than the prospect of the sun eventually becoming too hot. It is as if my dream self is subliminally testing the autosymbolic (vestibular) design of my dream before deciding to continue (even though I am not viably lucid). I am aware that the sun’s heat will be increasing exponentially, and that in a few hours it will be about 6,400 degrees (or 80^2). A number of unknown people are present. Some of the others talk about surviving for a few additional hours. Apparently, they believe they can live for an extra hour or two, or longer, by staying in a building with an air conditioner that remains on. We all go out to find a safer location. There is a surreal scene where I am temporarily inside an upright hollow rectangular prism. Someone else is near the top looking down at me, as I am looking up from within it. There is some sort of ambiguous association with it being a vehicle. It seems nighttime at this point, but soon switches back to afternoon. While in an unfamiliar building on the third floor, I watch equidistant soap bubbles float by outside. I realize that this means aliens are present (subliminally influenced by comic book story I had not thought of at all in years). I consider that the aliens are here to save humanity, even though I only see the spaceship briefly in a dream within a dream. Some of the others suggest that we need to go underground, though we remain on the first floor for a time. My dream becomes more vivid and I am now in a distortion of the Loomis Street house, near the back door. A doll walks in from outside. It is about a foot high. It does not talk but makes clicking and humming noises as if to analyze a person’s status. A teddy bear also walks in as well as a stuffed elephant (with a floral print) walking on its back legs. They are all the same height. In the final moments prior to waking, I consider that the friendly and helphful aliens are very shy, so they sent in these devices to make first contact and to study people for a time before taking the human race to another planet to ensure survival. The “alien” association is caused by the transient dream self not being correlated with the conscious self identity while in REM sleep (as the non-lucid dream self has neither viable contact with the unconscious, such as consistent memory of personal history, or the conscious self identity as in waking life, though most people do not have the ability to realize this at all, hence belief in nonsensical forms of “interpretation”). This is not quite as common as more mundane RAS correlation factors. This is resolved by the introduction of the dream state indicators, teddy bear (first-level dream state indicator) and doll (autosymbolism for the physical body being inactive in sleep - more specifically, my subliminal awareness of Zsuzsanna also being asleep). An elephant, the last “toy” to enter the room, is autosymbolism for the waking alert factor in this case, due to how it “trumpets” (initiating the return to waking consciousness). Once my fictitious dream self subliminally accepts the dream state indicators, RAS modulation begins the waking process. Additionally, this is also a form of doorway waking symbolism, as the “toys” walk in through the back door from outside. (There is no personified preconscious factor as the “toys” hold this role.)

Morning of April 28, 2018. Saturday. I am in an unknown spacecraft in orbit around Earth, but the spacecraft is not implied to be alien. Fireworks are being shown far below, but eventually, it seems they are in view from the front window of the spacecraft, which is not logical as they would have to be too far up to be appreciated from ground level. Eventually, some of the small sparks strike the window, some seeming to create a “splash” effect, and I see they appear as glowing mathematics symbols, including pi. Each set fades as more “splash” onto the window. There is a curious sound like two sticks hitting together as well as sizzling. A few sparks come from the control panel as well, but there is no sense of threat or problematic events. This is autosymbolism for the usual vestibular system correlation and thinking skills correlation (which the subconscious self does not have while in the non-lucid dream state) to activate the return to consciousness, but unique as always.
Morning of May 1, 2018. Tuesday. I become somewhat puzzled in one of my last dreams of my sleep cycle. I keep hearing the old Donny Osmond song (from when he was a boy), “The Wild Rover (Time to Ride)”, which I had on a 45 when I was a boy. It is a song that had not even crossed my mind in many years. Eventually, during sustained hypnopompic disclosure (the period in which my previous dream’s meaning surfaces and is clearly understood), I perceive it as the usual autosymbolic waking process, which had borrowed “The sun’s about to rise”, one of the song’s lines. (This happens fairly often, that is, my dreams using waking process autosymbolism based on song lyrics, and it is sometimes songs of which I had not even thought about at all in years.)

Morning of May 1, 2018. Tuesday. People are ice fishing on a frozen lake in Norway in late morning. A few cars drive around and I wonder if they will fall through, but I decide not to mentally will this event (even though I am not lucid). Bob Marley eventually makes an appearance. The main influence (the setting anyway) was from having just seen “The Snowman” (2017).
Afternoon of April 30, 2018. Monday. This entry is required reading for anyone who wants to develop a better understanding of dreams and the various causes of dream content and inherent meanings. In this entry, I will be writing more about the nature of vestibular system correlation. This is my most common form of autosymbolism throughout the tens of thousands of dreams I have studied and decoded for over fifty years since early childhood. It can occur in a few different dreams per sleep cycle. Ultimately, it is my main recurring factor of dream state transition, even in lucid dreams, and is augmented in some auto-scripted dreams, as deliberately auto-scripted dreams have unavoidable though incidental stark contrasts with circadian rhythms dynamics, a main factor of sleeping and dreaming. Since childhood (around age nine), I have tried to determine causes of different types of vestibular system correlation, which, while in a dream, ranges from subliminal to intrusive; for example, dreams of falling and even a dream where an intruder tried to force me to grow a bird of prey’s talon from my right thumb. By way of RAS mediation, a simulacrum of vestibular system correlation is created in one of several different ways, including specialized preconscious personification or even features such as a bird as a “teacher” or a “villain” depending on the concurrent dynamics of the particular state (including the subliminal willingness to wake or continue sleeping). For example, in the most vivid dream I have ever had, a resplendent quetzal flew down to become the partner of an earthbound bantam silver sebright rooster (the one I had as a pet in childhood but long dead in reality). RAS personification may be “friendly” or “invasive” depending on the status of the dream self’s attention, which may not be related to waking life or the conscious self identity or experience at all, but the progression of the waking stage and the status of current dream self awareness and depth. Vestibular system correlation comes in many different forms. In some cases, it depends on sleeping position. Sleeping position has a major influence on both depth of sleep and the nature of the dream state and the types of dreams that result. Waking life vestibular system ambiguity results in dizziness, although in dreams this is more about subliminal anticipation of the waking process, the main factor of a non-lucid dream’s autosymbolism. The processes relating to vestibular system correlation comes from the dream self’s virtual vestibular system being separate from the real vestibular system of the physical body in REM sleep. To put it simpler, the subconscious self does not have a viable awareness of the real physical body while sleeping. This is what causes the sensations of flying, falling, rising, and movement in general, which of course, is an illusion. (On a side note, dizziness in waking life is of course an illusion as the room is not literally spinning around you as you are discerning it as such.) The description of REM sleep muscle atonia by Jouvet and Michel (1959) helped to presage the idea that dreaming was constituted by virtual perception and movement. Real (waking) perception and movement were actively blocked, while the brain was forced to generate a virtual simulacrum of waking consciousness. (“Virtual reality and consciousness inference in dreaming”, Front Psychol. 2014; 5: 1133.) This does not mean that dream state indicators (such as the appearance of a bed or being undressed) or other subliminal awareness of being asleep does not come into play as a thread in a dream’s hodgepodge. Vestibular system ambiguity can flow from passive to dominant (dream self is moving toward consciousness) or from dominant to passive (dream self is slipping back into sleep). It does not make any sense to “interpret” autosymbolic biological factors, but this is what many people do. It is important to understand that dreams, contrary to popular belief, do not symbolically “represent” waking life, but are meant to occasionally borrow waking life factors to initiate the return to consciousness. In the case of the specific factor discussed in this entry, it is not possible to consciously control vestibular system ambiguity in the dream state, lucid or not, though an aspect of it can be held, for example, in flying dreams (both lucid and non-lucid) where the real vestibular perception of the physical body does not dominate the liminal state or space. Some people seem to believe that falling dreams are a result of waking life anxiety. I have never seen any personal evidence of this. The vividness of falling dreams increases exponentially after I have had a lot more exercise, especially with more time spent walking. Such a dream is also more likely if I had been in an elevator that day, and I have no anxiety regarding elevators in waking life. My most vivid falling dream occurred during the night after experiencing the log flume ride at Busch Gardens earlier that day. Falling dreams (in addition to the talon dream mentioned above) are also sometimes caused by environmental noise. Even in waking life, high levels of noise may stimulate the vestibular system and thereby cause disturbances in the balancing mechanism. Babies apparently experience falling dreams by way of the Moro reflex, which I have often seen in my own children when they were babies. Understanding the nature of vestibular system correlation and dream state and waking process autosymbolism in general will help you to easily dismiss the nonsensical psychobabble and superstition concerning dreams of which is virtually everywhere, but of which is a great disservice to present day society (at least for people who have never held the desire of looking into the causes of their own dreams). One of the most important aspects to understand about dreams is, just as with sequences of waking life thoughts, a dream is not just one event. Even though I typify dreams based on their main factor, there are always threads of other processes integrating into the dream state, again, just as with waking life thoughts. This is why saying that a dream relates to one thing makes no sense - any more than claiming every singular thought in a period of twenty minutes is “about” the same thing. Dreams are a result of many different types of threads coming together in a synthesized composite. Until that is understood, there is no hope of discerning the nature of the dream state. On a side note, some people apparently do not dream of flying very often or at all, when the majority of my dreams have this potential. I effortlessly take to the sky as perceiving it in the same way as I do walking in waking life in both lucidity and non-lucidity. The highest level of apex lucidity however, does not have this potential, as the discernment of physicality is too augmented, complete with the extremely realistic feeling of weight, movement, and momentum (impetus). On a final note, I should point out that falling can also serve as induction into a more vivid dream, though this is rare for me (though I prefer creating and using a difficult door for an astounding increase in vividness). Some people do not seem to believe this because of the ludicrous myth about dying in a dream if you do not wake up before your fall completes. It is one of many nonsensical myths propagated by people with virtually no dreaming experience.
Morning of April 29, 2018. Sunday. There are puzzling (impersonal) scenes of an unfamiliar golf course, which is a very rare dream setting for me. There is an unusual dragon, more like a traditional sea serpent in some ways, but quite unrealistic and never a threatening presence - almost cartoonish or of bad CGI. Corporeally, I find myself in an area where grapes are growing from vines within tree branches. I eventually find a pocket watch hanging by a chain from a low branch. An unfamiliar red-haired female of about thirty manifests as this dream’s preconscious, looking at me, possibly wondering what I am doing. I think I might take the watch as I think it might be mine, but I decide to leave it. I had no idea we would be watching a movie this evening featuring an unrealistic sea serpent and a scene where two men were digging in a golf course. This was “Nessie & Me” (2017) that our youngest daughter really wanted to watch tonight (and it was from the library; I did not even know about it). Seeing scenes from movies in dreams before actually seeing them seems a rather trivial and pointless mechanism (in contrast to me marrying my literal dream girl), but this has occurred all my life. It happens so often, I usually just roll my eyes at this stage of my life. It is probably more about the transpersonal interconsciousness rendering some dream content (rather than true prescience), as the movie technically often already exists (though not in every case like this) which I usually see on the same day after my dream. Zsuzsanna had not seen the movie, so the golf course scene did not come from her as far as I know.
Morning of April 29, 2018. Sunday. I am in a large featureless distortion of the Loomis Street house’s porch (about twice as big as it is in reality). My brother-in-law Bob is present. Curiously, I am also vaguely aware of my youngest son. (This is a typical distortion of random threads, as my son being present is the only thread relevant to my current conscious self identity.) Eventually, I see (and subliminally will by way of RAS modulation anticipation) a snake crawling on the wall (in the manner of if it was actually the floor). I cannot be sure if it is venomous but Bob comes in to distract it. However, three green snakes end up being present, one that Bob is battling near the center of the porch, one near Oliver (though not perceived as a threat) to the right, and one near me. I seem to be standing on the right arm of the armchair yet also standing on the floor. It is an unusual sense of bilocation. I move my legs around in order to deter the snake, still wondering if it might be venomous, but there is no dominating sense of threat or any actual fear (probably because I know it is the RAS modulation factor as the waking alert). This dream type is a form of vestibular system correlation, which occurs in countless unique forms but basically always means the same thing, that I am trying to discern the nature of my real physical body in growing closer to conscious self awareness. This is not the first time that snakes have occurred in correlation with this process, which is why they are on the wall rather than the floor at first. I have not seen Bob since 1994 and have no idea of his present status. My son’s appearance in this case relates to a concern about his health, though it is not a major issue. Snakes sometimes relate to autosymbolism regarding the human intestine, especially in indigestion. Autosymbolism is often based on visual associations (such as a snake being associated with the human intestine), not words (as language skills are not even present in most levels of REM sleep). As always, a porch is my most common liminal space autosymbolism since childhood, which indicates a specific level of unconsciousness between sleeping and waking and is unrelated to waking life (other than a porch representing liminal space in waking life as well, and you will find much dream autosymbolism is not very difficult to understand when eliminating the “interpretation” fallacy).
Morning of April 29, 2018. Sunday. In my surreal dream sequence, there is eventually a focus on the “Peanuts” comic strip. It is supposedly an anniversary of when the first strip was published. (This is incorrect, as in reality, October 2, 1950 is when the dailies started and it was January 6, 1952 for the Sunday strip.) The detail eventually stabilizes on a stage that seems to be for a television show being broadcast live. The announcer says “Charlie Brown” vividly and clearly and extends his hand to the right, upturned for introduction. The “real” Charlie Brown walks out on stage and the audience looks on. It is a real man, but he is very old and has oversized ears, which are probably fake. He actually has the essence of a very old Charlie Brown in appearance (which is unusual as the comic strip character has hardly any facial detail, yet my dream includes a very precise essence somehow), but I consider it is mostly makeup to play the role. There is a shift and the same scene repeats. After this, a similar scene occurs, though this time it is a very old and “real” Sally Brown sitting in a chair. The audience looks at her as she is interviewed. In the last scene, which is supposedly part of a movie that is showing a new “Peanuts” event, two anthropomorphic rats are standing near the back door of a building. Apparently, they are being married, though I see no other characters present at this time. The rat is named Roquefort, though in reality has nothing to do with Charlie Brown’s world (as far as I know). Roquefort eventually says how he is “impotent”. The female rat (I do not recall any name) says, “We’re British. We do not use that word.” From here, there are detailed closeups of one of each rat’s ears (the right for the male and the left for the female). I see that while the male’s lobe is connected to his head, the female rat’s lobe is slightly raised, with a J-shaped groove. This seems to mean that Roquefort might change his mind about the wedding, but it is the girl rat that turns and walks off. In hypnopompic disclosure (the preconscious and emergent consciousness correlation where the clear meaning of my dream surfaces), I realize the whole dream was triggered by the vestibular system correlation of the waking process, the stage being autosymbolism for “watching” the dream state (as well as a play on the “stage” of sleep). The rest was surreal nonsense of which I cannot even correlate with a media influence. Many of my dreams have autosymbolism for vestibular system correlation as the waking factor (in fact, an average of more than one dream per sleep cycle for over fifty years includes this biological process), though typically related to flight. (Vestibular system correlation is a common dream factor as the dream self cannot viably perceive the conscious self’s physical form in REM sleep.) It has astounded me since childhood that the same processes repeatedly being rendered are completely ignored in favor of “interpretation” simply because of their uniqueness each time. Perhaps in a thousand years, more people will begin to see what dreams actually are. Still, from the evidence I see in society, including most people that pretend to understand or “interpret” dreams, I very much doubt it. Dreams, especially the preconscious transition, are not actually supposed to relate to waking life as they are meant to be a release of the conscious self identity (unless literally prescient or when overwhelming stress is literally borrowed by RAS modulation, the former being quite common for me, the latter very rare, and neither of those two factors requiring “interpretation" due to being literal), for the reason of contrast in the emergent consciousness activation, and they do not come from the unconscious or subconscious either. For example, the male talking rat using "impotent” (after a satisfying lovemaking session prior to sleep) and the female rat replying with “We’re British”. This is the opposite of anything in my waking life. (I do not even know anyone who is British or English in waking life, that is, where I actually live.)
Morning of April 25, 2018. Wednesday. In this brief waking dream, I am in an unknown library. A very vivid voice mentions “Shirley Holmes” at the end of a phrase. I believe it relates to appreciation of a book. I consider how it is a play on “Sherlock Holmes”. However, I soon consider that it may be dream state distortion implied to suggest “surely homes”, but I do not see it as having potential meaning other than being happy at home based on the tone of the voice. It turns out that there actually is a Shirley Holmes character of which I am certain I had not known of before, or at least never gave any notice to (though again, I am quite certain that I would have remembered a play on “Sherlock Holmes” as such). Even so, the detective essence is a recurring factor of being in liminal space, which represents the enigma of being between identities, dream self and conscious self. This has been a factor since very early childhood. Quick update: As usual, this dream seemingly came partly from content from what Zsuzsanna had been thinking earlier, with no way of me knowing. She had seen a game show that focused on Sherlock Holmes. This happens continuously, but I often do not go back to edit the entry.
