False Awakening

1. Manei tries to summon the Angelic Dwarven Guardian (LD #121), Destroying the Lucid Barrier (LD #122)

by , 10-15-2014 at 01:21 PM (Lucid Time!)
Well... good night last night. Took me an hour to type this up.

I was driving along in a mountainous region supposedly on some family vacation with my parents. The sky looks to be a very deep shade of blue and I think there were some planets in the sky. The mountains we are on don't look very earth-like either.
The mountains are made out of a light brown/tawny rock and covered in moss that seems to flow over them like water. Exotic fern-trees grow in some of the more level areas but the mountains are fairly jagged.
The road we are driving on is narrow (two lane) and built up on this really high end, futuristic looking bridge. Eventually I saw that we were coming up on a settlement in a valley.
It was a very small settlement. Two houses, one of the houses is very modern with a big glass wall on the front and a solar array on the roof. The other one looks older, being made of bricks with a circular drive out front. There is also an old fashioned well and a park with swings and a play structure.
My parents said that we had been driving for awhile and that we should pull over and eat lunch as a family in this park.
...

This somehow led me to becoming lucid. I ran into Manei, who had taken on a youthful form, she was about 8. She then turned and ran and I came after her. I chased her across the playground structure and she went down the slide.
"Come on! Go down the slide!"
"mmm... Ok."
I go down the slide, trying to rack up a little bit of dream stabilization along the way. I recall the slide being a reddish color, and having scuff marks on it. Before I reach the bottom, she says something else.
"When you get to the bottom, don't stop!"
I slide down and when I come off the end of the slide I go forward a little bit because of my momentum and land on my butt in the wood chips. For some reason I seem to sink into the wood chips.
"Good, I had to make sure you were still (able to act like a child). The Dwarven Guardians who run this place really like that."
"...?"
"I'm going to summon the Angelic Dwarven Guardian now. Now you won't be able to see him because (He exists across the fourth dimension), but (He will be standing right in front of you) you will be able to communicate with him through thoughts."
Manei changes into her base form (goes through puberty in a couple of seconds) and begin concentrating on summoning him. The dream begins to shift, I have a false awakening, or a scenery change, can't remember. Anyways, I'm in my bedroom. The wood chips I was laying in have become my bed. I lose some lucidity.

The dream scene changes again. I am now in the basement of my house, standing. Manei continues concentrating for a minute or two and then all four of our family's cats (including the dead one) show up. Our youngest cat is particularly interested in whatever she is trying to do. He meows and rubs against her leg.
"Rrrrgh! No! (Facepalms) That's not what I meant to do!"
The dream carried on for a minute as Manei became frustrated in her attempts to summon this being, and I just sort of stood there patiently waiting to see what exactly was going to happen. I began to feel like the cat, the young one was somehow a representation of the being we were trying to summon. I tried to lock onto the cats energy and he and I engaged in a staring contest. I could feel something else in there. I could see it in his eyes. I was about to tell Manei that she should change her approach when I woke up.

5:10. Let's go back.

I had a dream where I had gotten a job at a superstore, like Target or Wal-Mart. I was the Janitor and my job was to clean the interior windows on the office walls in the back. My boss (a grouchy, short, fat, black haired man) gave me a toilet brush that had been dipped in soapy water.
"Get your ass moving now!"
I walk into the back of the store and begin scrubbing the windows. I haven't been told that I have to dry them or anything, and wasn't given a towel, so I just scrub them clean. The first office is really easy, but the second office, for some reason, someone has splattered a muddy brown substance on the window. I couldn't tell if it was mud, chocolate, caramel, or *shudders* something worse.
Regardless, I'm the Janitor, and I guess they have to put up with stuff like this, so I just push past it. I start scrubbing but my brush gets contaminated with the muddy substance. I'm not really cleaning anymore, I'm just moving the dirt around. I decide I will go back to my boss and tell him that I'm going to need a bucket of soapy water.
I start walking back across the store floor to the front where my boss is; in the front. I don't get very far until I come across my mom who is shopping. She tells me that I really should put on some pants if I want to impress my boss, and I realize that I am wearing a shirt and briefs.

Lucidity hits me like a brick wall.
There was this weird part though where the scenario repeated itself semi lucid. I was in a library this time, and my boss was a female, but no less grumpy. I went through scrubbing the windows, but there was this extra part where I was trying to clean the brush off in a drinking fountain in the back of the library.
...
Regardless, I had a false awakening. As my eyes started to open, I could tell I was in my bedroom.
My lucidity was clear enough to remember that I had gone to sleep in my college dorm room. I did a nose pinch.
"Yeah! Just what I thought! A false awakening!"
Something felt odd about my bedroom, like everything was reflected to the opposite side.
I started to get out of bed and I took note of how dark everything was. I decided to turn on the lights. The dream glitched here and I was instantly over at the door, facing as If I were walking into my bedroom. I flicked on the light-switch and nothing happened. I flicked it up and down two times, and nothing happened.
"Wait... don't light switches not work in dreams...?"
The light flashed on blindingly bright for a fraction of a second. I heard a loud scream, then everything was black. I could feel myself falling for a few seconds.
...
I false awaken. After one false awakening, I was ready to catch the second one, especially if it was to be in the same place as the first. I was in my bedroom. It was dark. I looked at the floor to see that it had been extruded down about 20 feet and filled with water back to the level of the original floor. The weird part was, all the furniture was sitting in place on the surface of the water.
I recall the water being dark and murky, and seeing a large shark or predatory fish of some sort in the water.
I must not have been fully lucid because I felt trapped by it. Eventually a blurry-faced dream character in a tiny yellow inflatable dingy came in, rowing with a wooden paddle. When they came up to my bed, I pushed them into the water and stole their little boat.
I rowed into the guest bedroom for some odd reason and the clarity and mood of the dream picked up significantly. I thought that I was in a surreal painting or something. The water here was very shallow, six inches at the most, and clear. There were brightly colored fish in it, and the carpet flooring had been replaced with wood.
There was a waterfall flowing from a bottomless pitcher suspended in midair, down a wooden desk, then onto a wooden chair into the floor below. For some reason, there was also a coat rack with a couple of bird cages hanging from it, with brightly colored birds in them. Some of the cages were open and a couple of exotic dream-birds were circling around the room.
There were vases of flowers everywhere and lily pads in the water.
I saw a turtle in the water. The turtle had mosses and grasses growing on his shell. I asked the turtle if he would protect me from the shark that was in the other room. He then created this little explosion of bubbles and a tiny fish appeared. It was black and brown with yellow spots. He told me that the fish would protect me.

I turned back and looked around the room. My lucidity was slipping and I had to remind myself that this was just a dream. I decided to go outside. I began walking out of my house, and the water floors were fading away now.
...
I open the door and take one look. I couldn't help myself.
Holy S**t!
The dream world was so bright and realistic. I could make out every leaf on every tree, blowing in the wind. I could see a full, white moon rising in the daytime sky. The sky still had that look that it had in the first dream though, it was a darker blue than it should have been. All of the colors seemed to pop, though.
The trees in our yard were not quite right though. They seemed to be of different species. The one that is right out the front door was replaced with this one with millions of tiny bright green leaves. And where our pine tree was was a palm tree that started with a single base and split into multiple tops. Another tree was replaced with a giant red and white mushroom.
As I looked more closely at the sky, I could see a structure in it. I couldn't really describe quite what it looked like in words, but it was made up of these circular nodes. Each one had a rune symbol on it. The rune symbols were connected by large beams with small white lights along the edges. Between those larger beams were smaller intricate spiral and radial patterns, sometimes centering around the nodes. The structure arched across the whole sky.
Although I couldn't quite tell what it was, I could tell that it was solid, probably made of stone or metal, and that it was at least a few miles up. It had a sort of technological look to it, like the surface of the death star would. But also a very mystical, design. There were a couple of clouds in places obscuring parts of the structure.
I was a bit taken aback by all this scenery. I almost lost the dream.
"Keep it together (Jade)! It's just a dream... A very very good lucid dream."
Then, just when I couldn't taken any more, we got planets. Two of them. Somehow visible past the barrier. Both of them looked earth-like, with atmospheres and oceans. One was larger and looked pretty flat, mostly land. The other was much more topographically interesting with craters and oceans.
I had to contain myself a second time. I tried to think of something I could do. I then thought of the "Lucid Barrier" and thought that perhaps that huge structure in the sky is my lucid barrier. I should fly up and destroy it!
Okay, usually in very stable, vivid dreams, flying can be a bit of a hassle. I try not to think about the fact that there is a massive structure hindering my lucid dreaming ability right above me. I start running from my front porch, toward the road. I try projecting my energy out of my hands to generate lift. I can't feel any energy flowing. I look upwards, at the house across the street and try to imagine myself being pulled toward the second floor.
I jump, and notice that I don't seem to be heading back toward the ground. I feel the energy start flowing from my hands, and my little hand rockets ignite. Classic.
"Haha! Yeah!"
All of the sudden I hear a horn. I am now in the middle of the road, and only a couple of feet off the ground. A large white van careens toward me. I get struck on the left and side of the van and spun around by the impact. But it doesn't really hurt, despite the fact that I was hit at a fairly high speed. I try not to let the spin destabilize or change the dream environment.
The van fares a little worse though, it careens off the road and hits one of the neighbor's trees. The dream character; a black man with dreads gets out.
"Hey! Watch it! I... You're flying... He's flying!" The dream character yells.
Something made me realize that the huge structure in the sky was not my lucid barrier. I decide to manifest a physical representation of it and destroy it. I turned around, and in the middle of the street was my lucid barrier.
It was made out of rings of a pink polished stone, like a target, with a white four pointed star, also made out of polished stone. There was a ring of grey polished stone that connected into a pedestal and a crescent of more white polished stone along the inside of the outer ring. It was actually a beautiful sculpture and I felt a little bit bad for having to destroy it.
I started to fly at it. For some reason, my flying was a little bit awkward and I was flying feet-first. I wanted to turn myself around, until I realized this was actually perfect. I kicked into it, knocking out the white crescent and breaking the outer ring ring of grey stone. I looked back to see my work, and a little less than half of the wall was gone.
I felt my lucidity get clearer. Then I realized the reason my lucidity was so clear, and that my mind was so awake was that I was actually waking up.

Hopefully now that I started tearing down that lucid barrier my LDs will increase.

2. So Close!

by , 03-04-2014 at 03:14 PM (Lucid Time!)
Two Nights Ago

I have been put in prison. The prison is really strange, each inmate gets a very small cell about four feet wide by four feet deep by eight feet tall. They are chained to the floor and the bars of the cell... well there are no bars its more like a wire weave from a chain link fence.
I arrive at the prison late in the day. Some of the other prisoners are giving me dirty looks. I simply decide that maybe I can just lay down on the floor of my cell and lucid dream. I lay down and begin thinking my MILD mantra to myself.
After a minute or two, I notice that I am having difficulty falling asleep. I begin to think about why I am in prison and I cannot recall. Wait a second, I am already dreaming!
False awakening. Into my own room, and it's time to go to school. I get up and change out of my pajamas and into school clothes. I then notice that I am late for school. Wait... I am never late for school! I am still dreaming!
And I wake up.

Last Night

I am trying on different pairs of sunglasses. They are all very ugly.

Somebody's house burned down while they were cooking broccoli for dinner. I think it was a family of four. After the fire was put out the fire department took them to the fire station. The family complained that they were hungry and the fire department got some pop-tarts out of their locker. The mom (who was some kind of dietician) demanded that the fireman who was serving them bring them broccoli. So he went to the grocery store and bought a vegetable tray for the family.

Superhero Prison Break (Groggy Lucid)

I am outside a prison or industrial compound location. It is nighttime and snowing heavily. There is a large chain-link fence around the perimeter of the compound with light posts every 10 meters or so. Beyond the fence it goes to woodland.
I am hiding in the woods. Superman, Batman and Wonder woman are with me, and for some reason, we are preparing to break into the prison to rescue someone. Also, something about this situation seems familiar,
like I might have had a dream about this setup before. And I feel like last time the heroes betrayed me and tried to use a sedative on me and then lock me in the prison.
Just at that moment, Superman tries to grab me from behind. I flip him over me and slam him into the ground. (Guess I have superpowers too.) Batman throws batarangs at me and I blast them out of the air with little fireballs.
Wonderwoman traps me with her lasso. Superman comes in front of me holding the sedation needle in front of my face.

Then for just this moment, I become lucid. And boy did I think quick and clever...
FUS RO DAH!

Superman goes flying back into one of the light posts on the perimeter of the prison. When he hits it, it bends and partially tips over. The lights flash out on that post. Also, he loses the sedation needle in the snow.
Batman compliments me on my quick thinking and states that he has changed his mind. He wants me to be a part of this team.
I hear alarms in the prison. Guards start rushing out to get us and me and the other superheores set aside the fight and retreat.

3. Lucid Dream #77: Roller Coaster Flying

by , 02-03-2014 at 09:26 PM (Lucid Time!)
I was with S and H. We were at a theme park and were going to ride some roller coaster. Supposedly it was a roller coaster that H had designed. Because... my high school friend can design a roller coaster I guess.
Anyways, the thing is, I don't really like roller coasters, not because I am scared of them, but because I tend to get sick on them. and usually after just one ride, I am a crabby, headache ridden motion sick wreck or a person. But S and H talked me into it and we get on the coaster.
Anyways we are the only ones riding, S and H are together in the front car, and I am in the second car. The roller coaster starts pulling us uphill and I notice that the roller coaster goes up quite a ways into the air, at least a few hundred feet. It has a red and orange metal track. But other than that doesn't have any design features that are that spectacular. I start to have second thoughts when I notice that I cannot even see the top because it is obscured by some fog. (The dream was overcast.-ish.)
We peak the hill and drop off. But I get none of the uncomfortable feelings that I usually associate with roller coasters, but instead a thrilling free fall followed by an exhilarating turn. (The way a roller coaster should feel.)

I then thought about how I should try to "absorb" the experience and replicate it in a lucid dream. Little did I realize that I was already in a dream, so having that sort of thinking was actually somewhat funny.
I decided to simulate flying in a lucid dream. I tried to imagine what this location would look like without the roller coaster and I put my hands out in front of me in the form of fists, trying to pretend that I was flying like Superman. But, because I was already in a dream, the roller coaster track faded from existence, along with the other cars and my friends. The only thing that didn't fade was the second roller coaster car. Also, the fog cleared and it became sunny out.

I was flying, but I was still strapped in. I was the one keeping the car aloft. And sure, the thing was practically weightless. But I still felt cumbersome. So I broke the latch that was keeping me strapped into my seat, and dropped the coaster car into a nearby lake.
Then the man who built the coaster/ran the theme park came over and started complaining to me. I was just floating there over the lake. He said that he wanted the coaster car recovered from the lake. So I kindly hovered down into the water, and lifted the car up with one arm. I deposited the car on the shore of the lake and the man thanked me.

Something was up, I had to reality check. Even though I was pretty much full lucid. So I decided to land. Next to [where the coaster was] was an open parkland area with some trees. I landed and did a nose pinch RC for a really long time, like ten seconds. It failed, but I was still thoroughly convinced that I was dreaming.
Now I'm going to skip what happened in the dream after this because a.) it's personal. b.) some could find it offensive. c.) it's BORING AS HECK!

So I had a false awakening in my own bedroom. Lost lucidity and woke up not long after that.

4. Another Alien Invasion Dream, LD #66 (sort of)

by , 12-29-2013 at 04:01 PM (Lucid Time!)
Alien invasion dream (in fragments)

I looked outside and noticed dozens of aircraft moving around in seemingly random directions in the sky. A few moments later they all stopped and had arranged themselves in a perfect grid. I thought to go get my camera, but realized that if I did, they would vanish. I decided rather to just watch and see what happened next.

C was in my garage, working. She told me that she had sensed that this was happening and had prepared. She had started building some weapon that would be the only thing that was effective against the aliens. She told me that she needed me to run to the hardware store before the aliens landed and get her a metal pipe: any size, any length.

I was looking online at the pictures and news coverage of the aliens. One of them showed the aliens in a grid like I had seen earlier. The other one showed a picture of the alien ships. They looked something like this.

do blind men have lucids?-alien-ship.jpg

Badly drawn alien ship. The brown/tan parts were not wood, but rather metal painted in that color.

Fragment: Lucid Driving

My dad had just crashed his car into the road. I told him it was OK because I was actually just lucid dreaming. I immediately woke up.

Fragment: False Awakening

I false awoke into my room, got up, and logged onto this website in order to begin my DJing.

5. EDITED:Fragmented Lucid: Confusing Reality (LD# 63) At my service (LD#64), probable TOTM

by , 12-20-2013 at 08:56 AM (Lucid Time!)
I rewrote large parts of this Dream Journal Entry, because the original one seemed a bit flakey. (Most likely because I wrote the original Now, I'm able to properly explain what happened.

Where things get Weird

I was in my front yard, and lucid when two dream characters show up. (They show up in this really cool black car nonetheless) I recognize them as Marcus and this other character that I recently identified and named Jack.
It was at this point that for some reason, I thought of the basic TOTM for this month. To ask a dream character for a present and see what you get. I never said anything out-loud about the TOTM, but I thought about it.
I think Jack is the one who gets out of the car and offers me a small grey gun that he says Marcus invented. (And this is where I think I may have just completed the TOTM.) He gives a short speech about how this is the "next step in personal defense" and asks me to try the weapon out. The weapon looks and feels like the sticky detonator from Halo 4. It has a smooth look to it.
I fire it at a tree, and a large cylindrical grenade sticks to the side of the tree. I pull a trigger, and a number of small fan shaped grenades release from the large one and stick all over the place. Okay, that's a cool feature, but I can't figure out how to make the grenades detonate. Don't know if this is my own lack of knowledge or a malfunction with the weapon.

I false awaken in my own house to find that I have woken up very late on a Saturday morning. Makes sense why I would lucid, so I go downstairs, and go on this site and begin writing a DJ entry for this dream. I then, in my false awakening, go back upstairs and "WILD" back into a non-lucid dream.

I go back into a dream where my lucidity seems very unstable, an anxiety dream about school where I'm stranded there and I need to ride home. Jack shows up again. And let the real weirdness begin.
Jack attempts to convince me that I'm not dreaming. He tells me that my "Guides" (Meaning that he is a guide too now I guess.) are here to help me in waking life. He says I won't be going home for awhile. Telling me that this is waking life, given my groggy lucidity left me confused.
We are walking out of the school. I was at a point where I thought this was RL, and I told him I needed to go get my backpack. He then proceeded to tell me that he was carrying my backpack over his own, took it off and gave it to me. He told me that was in fact a basic test to make sure I wouldn't lose it because of that. So I guess I passed.
We get to the street out front of the school, and we try to get into this other vehicle that's like this very strange tractor type thing. Another detail that I couldn't help but notice, but there was a street named after Jonathan, my dream "Nemesis".
All my regular dream characters, save for the evil one. (Manei, Marcus, and David) started to surround the tractor and get out. There were two more, a younger version of Lia who looked to be about 10, and a younger boy who was probably 6. We get out and we all start to get into this really nice black sport's car. (Is that like my dream character's only way to get around.) I'll really have to draw these cars that I keep seeing. But we have seven people trying to get into this car. I have to sit in the middle of the back. And I don't know where we intend to go.
I'm getting into the back of the car with all these dream characters, and I woke up into my bed.

At my Service

I cannot believe I forgot about this dream.

I was in my school's gymnasium. There were a bunch of people running around and playing with the various gym equipment like dodge-balls and badminton rackets.
Manei approaches me and tells me that I am dreaming.
"Oh... of course I am..."
I do a nose pinch reality check just to be sure. I realize that I am dreaming, but I just felt really lucid. I probably got more lucid in this dream than I did in any lucid dream I've had in a long time. I could really feel the dream world around me. I even thought to myself that my real body is back in bed and this is all a dream, so this was a solid layer 3 dream. (For those of you who are farmiliar with receejones87's layers of LDing)
"Thanks for telling me."
She bows
"I am at your service."
I think to myself for a second. Manei... my dream guide, at my service. Will she carry out any command I give her?
"Jump up and down."
She jumps up and down. Given my dreams take place at about 0.5G's, she is able to jump about her own body height.
"Stop."
She stops.
"What's 7 times 4?"
"28."
Now time to really see how this works. I pick out one of the dream characters playing in the gym. Knowing he is just an aspect of me, I issue this command.
"Go beat that kid up."
She calmly walks over to the dream character, and stops in front of him. She then jumps into the air and spins around kicking the dude in the face. He falls over either dead or unconscious and is bleeding from his nose.

6. Random bits+Lucid Dream #48

by , 07-28-2013 at 02:20 AM (Lucid Time!)
I was driving my dad's car in some urban area. First on an expressway, but later, I got into a more boulevard like area. After awhile I got distracted on my phone and lost control of the car.
The car spun off the road and rolled over into a vacant lot. I knew that I had lost control of the car under my own fault, and it wasn't the accident. So when the cops and my parents showed up at the accident scene a few minutes later, I pretended to be dead so I wouldn't go to jail.

My mom had singed me up to go to some preliminary military school that only lasted for five days. And (enter dream logic) the military school was held in my own bedroom.
I had just woken up on the third day. I had been sick and asleep for the first two days of the school, but now that I was awake, I was expected to be ready for the class.
After I woke up, I was scrambling around my own bedroom with the other students from the class in uniform watching me. I was trying to get my uniform on while being yelled at by the drill instructor.

I was in some subway station, I think in New York. I became lucid somehow. But this wasn't very good lucidity, this was crap lucidity, groggy and not very clear. And that goes for the whole dream. I was lucid, but I sort of had drunken lucidity.
The first thing I can remember after that was Lia was there. She started teaching me something to do with flying in lucid dreams by having me jump between these two platforms in the subway station.
It's a little difficult to describe, but these two platforms were on either side of the train track by the end of the station. (Where the train goes from the station to the more narrow tunnel between stations.) Also, the platforms were quite a bit higher above the train tracks than the station platform.
Anyways, Lia had me fly between the two platforms several times. Eventually the flying power failed. Lia said that it had something to do with the gravity of the dream rather than the powers I was using.
After the power failed, we walked up some stairs into the city. The city had buildings that looked like New York, but it didn't have the feel of being near the water. (Another thing about dreams, I can have a feel for the area even if I don't look at it.) Also, the skyline seemed somewhat sparse. There were only a few tall towers, most of the buildings were very low-lying.
We began walking down the road. I began using voice commands to change the weather. But the problem was whenever I gave a voice command to the weather, it would change to something seemingly random.
For example, If i said the weather should change to rain, I would get snow. If I asked for clear skies, the weather would change to cloudy.
I was trying to get there to be clear skies, because I wanted to experiment with moving the positions of the Sun and Moon in the sky. Eventually I gave up.
I went into some diner and sat down. The diner had the feel of one of those retro kind of diners we rarely see these days. But I didn't sit at the bar, but rather one of the tables on the front side (not all diners have these, only the larger ones.)
The diner had a very dank feel to it. It was dark, and only a few lights were on. I sat down, and a moment later, a faceless waitress gave me a glass of chocolate milk. (my favorite childhood beverage, admittedly, still my favorite beverage.)
Well it wasn't a glass, but rather served to me in some strange thermos container. The lid was a very shallow white plastic cup filled to the brim with chocolate milk. The actual cup was a much deeper chrome cylinder, also filled to the brim.
Given my groggy lucidity, I decided to try and drink the chocolate milk. But I was afraid that since both ends were so full, I used telekinesis to carefully lift the cup up to my mouth and take a sip.
I was able to do this with both the silver cup and the plastic lid, in said order. But after the lid, I had attracted the attention of some other dream characters in the bar who were amazed that I was able to lift the cup with my mind.

7. In And Out of Lucidity (Lucid Dreams #36,37)

by , 04-17-2013 at 12:51 AM (Lucid Time!)
I was with S. Everything was black and white like an old movie. We were in some kind of warehouse, where there were alot of large square wooden crates. We were talking about dreams, and I quite quickly came to the realization that I was dreaming.
I did a Nose pinch RC to confirm that I was in fact dreaming. I actually did two. (I have grown accustomed to doing two Nose Pinch RCs in real life whenever I check if I'm dreaming. It never hurts to double check.)
I may have lost lucidity rather quickly though. Because me and S decided to participate in some kind of competition. That or, this segment of the dream took place before we were in the warehouse and I became lucid.
When we came outside, we seemed to be in some kind of industrial/shipping port area. There were two long identical docks. They were similar down to the arrangements of the boxes on them. This competition was between me and S, and we were seeing who could jump/climb over the boxes on our separate docks and get to the end first.
The rules of the competition were completely explained to me. I'm not entirely sure how. They just sort of came into my head.
I had a false awakening.
I was in a hospital room. It was quite large, and the walls were painted a tawny brown color. There was a young nurse, and a doctor, who looked a little like my dad. There was a couch on the far side of the room, and a large potted palm tree.
The nurse explained that I had been knocked out in an accident several months ago, and while I was out they had conducted three surgeries on me. One had removed my hip bone. The second had realigned my teeth, and the third was a brain surgery. The nurse proceeded to tell me that because of the brain surgery, I might have some memory loss.
I realized that I couldn't feel my legs. I tried to move them, but instead I would just thrust in my lower stomach and move my hips up a little. And this was the worst pain I've ever felt in a dream. Not only did my hips hurt, but my legs were completely immobile. I tried to move my legs a couple different times, but each time, I was met with this pain.
The doctor handed me some before and after X rays, trying to explain to me that my hip bone had been removed, and anything below my waistline was no good anymore.
This isn't right...
I'm still dreaming!
Almost immediately, I stand up on the hospital bed, and push my hands out to either side, causing the entire floor of the hospital to explode. As soon as I did that, the dream lost all clarity, then the clarity returned, but the dream had changed.
I was still on the destroyed hospital. But everything was overgrown and rusted, as though many years had passed. The damage to the hospital was still there.
I began to regain lucidity. One of the steel beams that the hospital was constructed out of had been bent out overhanging the outside wall of the building when I destroyed the top of it. It was bent in a narrow V shape with both ends still connected to the structure. But the inside of the bent beam was filled with dirt and grasses and wildflowers had grown on it. The beam had rusted into a bright red color.
I stood out on the very point. I did a nose pinch RC once more, I was ready to jump off into the area around me. The area was completely overgrown, and many of the buildings in the nearby city were partially destroyed and overgrown with plants.
A dream character approached me and distracted me. He looked sort of like me, but younger and with shorter hair. His nose looked unusual with one large nostril.

He began blowing air out of his nose, causing the nostril to expand. After each breath, his nostril would shrink, but not back to its original size. With each breath, the nostril got bigger until it took up most of his face. It may sound almost humorous, but in the way the dream portrayed it, it was actually quite disgusting. I lost lucidity and woke up.

8. Lucid Dream #32 -Heightened Clarity

by , 03-17-2013 at 01:51 PM (Lucid Time!)
I was walking down a paved path or sidewalk in some kind of rural or suburban area. I can remember the scene very vividly. (I just woke up, and am now writing about this.)
The path ran along a thin strip of grass and vegetation before turning left and heading up a hill that was lacking vegetation. Also the part of the path that was heading up the hill was not paved, it was just gravel.
There were houses all around and there seemed to be no way to get into the yards. All of the yards had high wooden fences.
I should also note the weather. There were a lot of dark clouds, as though there might have been a storm.
So, I was making my way down that path in said setting when
BAM, get lucid out of nowhere. Just when I do, I see someone running down the pathway behind me.
She was a girl, perhaps 14 or 15 years old with a black jacket and these big round glasses. She had black hair and pale, almost albino skin. My first thought was that she was my dream guide, so I asked her.
"Are you Lia?"
"No."
After I asked her this, she began preforming this unusual trick where she would spin and sink into the ground, then a few seconds later reemerge somewhere else.
I decided to do an intelligence test on her, (knowing that my dream characters can be hilariously stupid.)
"What color are you wearing?"
"I am wearing some green and blue, and you are sporting some red." I looked at my own sleeve to see that it was red as she said that. I had noticed her coat had disappeared and she was now wearing a blue and green t-shirt.
The girl continued doing the spin and teleport trick, and one time, I could somehow sense that she would try to emerge behind me and try to scare me.
I gracefully took a few steps forward and turned around, in less than half a second. She tunneled up right behind where I had been standing, and stretched out her arms while saying "boo!"
I wasn't scared or surprised, because somehow I had sensed that before it had happened.
I lost intrest in the dream character and focused on the unusually vivid dream. There was a cold breeze coming from the top of the gravel hill. I just had all of these thoughts, all at once about how unusual this dream seemed. Now I've had a couple times where I've amped up the vividness of dreams to a point like this using unnecessarily amounts of stabilization, but this time, it was natural.
I noticed my legs felt cold. I was probably wearing shorts. It seemed like summertime. I looked once more at the storm cloud. I was just blown away by the detail, the realism, and the perfect shade of blue-gray that the cloud was.
Then, suddenly, the dream started losing clarity really fast. But whatever was making the dream lose clarity had a lot of stability to get through, so in that time, I grabbed some gravel from the path and held it in both hands.
I started to see my room through the parts of the dream that had faded, and I thought I was waking up, when really, I was having an FA. (Ok, and FA into your own bedroom when lucid dreaming, that is just unfair.) I completely False awoke into my bedroom, except I still had the gravel in my hand, and the gravel still felt very vivid and realistic. I think I was still lucid at this point, but had thought I had woken up.
I woke up for real only moments after false awakening into my room. Did a nose-plug RC just to be sure.

9. D.I.A. #4 -Slew of dreams, Lucid Dream #16

by , 10-05-2012 at 08:27 PM (Lucid Time!)
I can't really put all the pieces together. I tried to WILD last night. A whole slew of lucid dreaming things happened including a lucid that I barely remember, a false awakening, and two additional non lucid dreams. Let me start with the least interesting and work my way up.

Suicide

The first dream entailed me and my mother. We decided that we were going to "Go die" so we had dug two holes in the ground and acquired some coffins.
Then my mother said that she was going to carve a death note into an Ipad. She asked me if she could use my Ipad instead of hers. Then she got an exacto knife and started carving a message into the screen about why we had decided to die/commit suicide.
We went outside, and got into our coffins. I'm not entirely sure why, but I decided to get back out and have second thoughts about committing suicide.
I was just standing in the drive in front of our house, and started talking to myself about the decision to commit suicide. The my mother got out of her coffin and decided that she didn't want to do it either. Then I told her that I needed to get a new Ipad since she scratched a death note into the screen.

Deathmatch

Another video game dream. Halo reach this time. It has been strange to me that video game dreams have stepped up their game and gotten alot more interesting and vivid recently. (Also strange because I haven't played Halo reach in almost a year now.)
I was literally a spartan. Not like controlling it or anything, like you normally would in a game, but my body was actually a spartan. But the game was still playing out normally. We were on this strange map that was sort of like a junkyard, with a dingy orange lighting to it.
The game started and I started looking for a way to help a the team. I saw a scorpion tank that nobody seemed to be using. I got in and looked back the direction that I had spawned. A wraith pulled between me and the direction that I had spawned.
I fired and killed it. Then a bunch of enemy players started swarming around my tank with energy swords. They were jumping around, trying to avoid getting shot. I realized that they were going to board my tank, so I bailed out.
When I got out, I took out my own energy sword and got into the fight. (The use of swords (though energy swords) still coincides with swords being a dream sign for me.) Unlike real halo, it took two hits to kill someone with the sword, one to break their shields, and one to finish the job. I can also remember the electric effect of the sheild being very vivid and realistic.
When fighting the first enemy, I broke his shields and killed him with two swift slashes. The second guy hit me from behind, breaking my shields. Our blades crossed and we pushed against one another. Then I killed him.
The final enemy, who was like the leader got in. I hit him and broke his shield, but my sword ran out of charge after the first hit. I tried to melee him again, with the sword hilt. He stabbed me in the chest, and the dream painlessly faded away.

Here are some images for the non-halo players to get an idea of what this looks like.

Scorpion tank

Energy sword

Terraskating

I seriously wonder about classifying this as a minor event. I will.

I was running down this highway, though a city very fast. I was lucid, but my recall was worse than my lucidity, so I couldn't remember how I got lucid. Though I was lucid. I can remember thinking about how cool this was, my sixth lucid dream.
I started to feel like my back was cold and wet.
I false-awoke into my room and the window was open and all of this rain and wind was coming and and there was a violent thunderstorm happening outside. Annoyed, I closed the window and went back to "sleep"

I'm not sure what to make of all these dreams. There was a lot of waking up involved last night, and I probably don't have them in the right order. I was on an extremely consistent sleep schedule the last few nights, going to bed just around 9:15. But last night, I didn't make it to bed until 10:00.

10. 10th lucid-Deleting People,Flying light speed

by , 08-22-2012 at 02:04 PM (Lucid Time!)
I just had an awesome lucid dream last night, and since I was supposed to start coming back to this DJ now, I thought that this would make the perfect place for me to start up agian.

So anyways, It started out with me at some kind of festival for very famous people. I didn't get to go inside the building but I kept on seeing limousines and other exotic and high-end vehicles driving into the parking structure.
Eventually, for a reason that I cannot remember, (My recall was poor at this point) I started driving a bus. The bus had extremely bad handling and I could barely reach the pedals.
I was about to go though an intersection and I stepped on the brake. Only my big toe could reach and I barely pressed it down. The bus ran though the intersection and collided with another car.
"Oh, I'm in deep crap now..." I said.

Someone on the bus said something. This triggered lucidity.
"Or, maybe I'm dreaming!" I said to myself
Now I can't really remember what happened after that, but my recall picks up when I started flying. (I think I might have had a false awakening, too.) I can remember saying something like "I get to fly as fast as light"
Next thing I know, I was in third person, flying away from earth. Earth shrunk to a dot in a matter of seconds. Then, all of the stars turned to white lines. (Think Millennium Falcon light speed) Then I accelerated again, going so fast there was just a purple tube of energy around me.
At this point, My lucidity sort of amped up and things really got good. I appeared in my neighborhood, and went back into first person.
"Cool, I'm having one of those "Neighborhood" dreams"
I took a short time to stabilize. I began to look for my dream guide. I began calling for them to show themselves. I noticed another DC, a small boy with a huge baseball helmet.
Before I knew it, Dream characters started appearing everywhere. Some of them looked deceptively like my DG, but were not. The people were there to distract me. I waved my hand over a group of people, and shouted "Delete"
The people spontaneously disappeared. I made my way down the street, deleting people as I went, but more and more people were appearing, and the "Delete" was becoming less effective.
"Pause" I shouted. Everyone but me froze.
"Delete All" I shouted, and all of the people, frozen in their positions were pulled towards a small portal in the floor of the street and fell down it. The portal closed when everyone had fallen though.
I turned around.
"Draw Dream Guide"
It took me a second to realize this command actually worked. I turned around, and looked at the spot where the portal had closed.
A black man with long hair in dreads appeared. He's tall and thin, in his 20's and had a huge silver and black boombox and bling necklaces. He stood up.
"You're not my dream guide!"
"Yes I am, man!" He said in a phony voice.
The dream immediately destabilized and I woke up.

11. My new sister, the minecraft gods

by , 05-18-2012 at 11:10 PM (Lucid Time!)
My new sister

I was in a very distorted version of my room. I can remember it being very dark and very big. The only light came from the door that was open just a crack. The entire floor was covered with random clutter, most notably, dirty clothes. I can also remember my bed being sort of sunken into the floor.
I had false awoken because I had heard a strange noise. I got up and cautiously made my way across the room. I opened the door and found myself in a distorted version of my parent's bedroom. The only detail I can remember specifically was the fact that their wall was brown, and the room sort of had a lodge style.
There was nobody in there, and believing that it was safe, I started to make my way back to bed. I was about halfway back when a small girl ran past my legs screaming.
I sort of had an odd explanation put into my head, that this dream character was my sister. She was three or four years old and her name was Ebe.
I can remember very specifically that she looked sort of odd. She had a medium tone skin and yellow hair in braids. She had on a white tee shirt and shorts.
Although I was originally sort of frightened by her, I eventually got past it. She got into bed with me and I started reading her a bedtime story. After the story, we just sort of sat and talked about life. She gave me some good advice and seemed really wise. Unfortunately I can't remember what her advice was.
My dream recall sort of cut out at this point but I then remember arriving at some kind of hospital. Specifically it was a large hallway with a depressed floor in the middle, so there was a kind of elevated floor along the edges. Periodically , there were ramps up onto the elevated floor but most of it was bordered by a metal rail.
Beds were lined up along the lower edge of the rail on both sides of the hallway, about four beds between each ramp. In every bed, there were people shaking as if they were having seizures. They were also bleeding very badly.
A doctor explained to me that Ebe had given everyone some horrible disease and that almost everyone in my family would be dead soon. I can remember the doctor was a young woman, and she tried to comfort me, even though I was not particularly upset.

The Minecraft gods

Once agian, I found myself in the game Minecraft. I can remember that I had just finished building my house when this farmer character appeared. Soon after, a female character appeared also. I can't remember their intentions.
I decided to go mining, I set out to find a cave. Eventually, I found one. I went down deep inside where I found every mineral recourse in one spot. I was in a large, open cave.
Some of the mineral resources were glitched and they had lava in them or something. When I tried to mine them, I triggered something unexpected.
In the bottom of the cave were two pools, one filled with water, the other with lava. Each one sprouted into a large form. The water formed a female who's hair was tiny streams of flowing water. The lava formed a male figure with spiked hair. Both of these creatures were almost as high as the cave, though the water creature was bigger.
They engaged in some sort of duel. From what I could make out, the lava creature was friendly, while the water creature wanted to kill me. I started to weave my way between their feet as they fought.
I was almost away when the water being sprayed a mist causing the lava being to freeze into solid rock. At first, I thought he was defeated, but he broke out of the rocks and was still ok.
The duel continued for a while longer. I was still trying to get out of the cave when both of the beasts did a powerful attack and caused a massive explosion.
I was blown free of the cave entirely and landed a ways away from the now huge canyon in the surface. I decided to head back to my house. When I got back, I found that the farmer and the female had built all of these random structures. I was very angry at them for doing so and I told them that this was my Minecraft and nobody was allowed to build here but me. I eventually quit the game.

12. Grandma's Ghost (LD #8)

by , 05-07-2012 at 10:19 PM (Lucid Time!)
I haven't had any recall since my last DJ entry, six days ago. Then I had this lucid dream out of the blue.

So I was riding a bike in a large group of people, many of them being family members, friends and other people I know in general. We were riding though a forest/park setting. I can remember the sun was either rising or setting.
I can't remember many details of what happened during the bike ride or if it was a race. I can remember talking with some of my friends from school for awhile but I can't remember what we were actually talking about.
I can remember more clearly when we got off our bikes and got into some kind of vehicle. I could probably describe it as a mobile home or a semi-truck. I can remember it being all white with an orange stripe down the side, and a black windscreen. Some of the people that I knew got into it too.
I was the one driving, and I drove for probably ten minutes. I can then remember pressing a button on the dashboard of the vehicle.
It caused the front part to sort of collapse and crush me. The crushing was very uncomfortable and lasted about ten seconds. Out of pure stupidity, I pressed the button two or three additional times.
We stopped in a parking lot when I realized that at the very back of the vehicle (The interior was a long, plain white room without any seats.) was my (now dead) grandmother. She was kind of a monochromatic blue color, and sort of hazy. I'm assuming she was a ghost. She was holding a knife. The knife on the other hand, was silver, with a brown handle. (As it should have been)
She started killing everyone inside with the knife. Eventually, A friend from my school named A was the only one alive other than me, and he was wrestling with the ghost of my grandmother. It was obvious he would lose. My mind was racing. The first thing that struck me as odd was that I was seeing my grandparent again, when they have now been dead for almost a year. I questioned reality.

From there I got lucid, just as A was overwhelmed and killed. I put my arms across my chest, then forced them out, pushing out to the sides. The vehicle around me exploded into several large pieces. The ghost of my grandmother was nowhere to be found.
From here, I proceeded to stabilize the dream. I looked at a large oak tree at the side of the road, and tried to make out the details of the leaves, to some success.
Behind me was a small building, with entirely glass walls. It was kind of horseshoe shaped and very small, only one floor. In the middle was a counter with a cashier and people waiting in line, I'm assuming to make purchases.
I decided to try some dream control and went up to the man that was first in line. I can remember him having a sort of tall face, and being bald. I punched him in the cheek, while screaming "sonic punch". I had to reach up above my head because he was quite a tall man.
When I hit him he just sort of looked at me for about half a second. My hand was still on his cheek and he just randomly flew back and hit the inside wall of the horseshoe shaped building.
We got into a huge fight at this point. Knowing I was dreaming, I was doing these remarkable martial arts moves and the man that I was fighting was really no match for me.

Eventually, I wound up standing on a table, holding a coffeepot. The man made some joke, I think it was related to World War II, but I can't remember it. I poured the coffee on him. At this point the dream destabilized. I knelt down on the table and screamed "stabilize dream!"

I had a False awakening. I can't remember the details of it but I woke up, and went around my house telling family members and friends about the awesome lucid dream I just had.

13. Long random dreams, LD #2

by , 04-02-2012 at 02:55 PM (Lucid Time!)
The first thing I can remember was coming home from school and being very excited. My mother told me that my old childhood friends (their names being Riley and JP) were coming up from Georgia for a visit.
I came home and went into my room and played Minecraft for a little while. Then I went on the internet and there was this article about these explosions happening because of some gas that had escaped into the atmosphere. They were talking about what states in the US had explosions over them.
Then, the knock on the door. I ran over to see, and sure enough my two childhood friends were there. They were coming in and for some reason I was having trouble seeing them.
My mom came upstairs and took me into the bathroom. She told me that I had some sort of sickness that caused my eyes to swell up and make it difficult to see. She said that it would go away in a couple of hours.
Eventually Riley and JP were up in my room. I showed them the article on the internet about the explosions happening. The article had updated and there was a video that showed the times that the explosions had happened. Then a newscaster came on and said "This catastrophe is only going to get worse."
Around this time my problem seeing wore off and I could see fine again.
My parents called me from downstairs and told me that I had to go to some kind of after-school study session or something. I told them I wanted to stay home and be with my friends, but they told me that if I did not go I was grounded.
We all got into the car and drove to my school. I was walking down the hallway, and I told Riley and JP that I was sorry that they were having such a bad time visiting me when all of this boring stuff was happening.
Then I took out this comic strip I drew. I wanted them to read it while I was studying so that they wouldn't be bored. The comic strip showed people fighting, but the paper had some kind of power, and the comic strip was animated. It was sort of like a stop-motion movie with a bunch of drawings actually moving around on the page. The problem was the animations would only play once.
Then my parents made us get into the car again. He told us we were going to the arcade and going to see a movie. I cannot remember what movie we were seeing, just that I did not want to go see it. I said that I did not want to go to the arcade because it was a crappy, worn down place.
He said that we could just go to the movie, but I think we went to the arcade anyway.

Then I cannot remember how I arrived at the far side of my own neighborhood. It was foggy and cold. There was a man wearing a black jacket mugging me. I can remember him having a big knife.

I became Lucid and immediately took care of the threat at hand by throwing a huge fireball at him. But as soon as I did that the dream destabilized too quickly for me to salvage it.

I was awake, and I'm about 95% sure I was actually awake, and had not just FA'd. I affirmed to myself that I would go back to sleep but remember all of the dreams that I already had.

I fell back into another non-lucid dream. I was actually inside the game Minecraft and there were these guards. They told me that I was in trouble for stealing. They told me that I had to go inside a wooden building; that was like a jail or something. I went inside, and It looked like any Minecraft house. There was a bed, a workbench and a couple storage chests.
For some reason, I got really sad and sort of spiritual. I began punching the walls of the building, and just as in the game, I got out of the building and went onto the rooftop. I moved the bed up there and went to sleep. But just as I was falling asleep, I can remember someone walking towards the bed.

I false awoke back into the same dream. I was really groggy and the dream was no longer like Minecraft. I was just in a bed. I was laying on my side with my arms wrapped around something.
I got up and realized there was another person. I got up into a crawling position and realized who it was. I won't tell you her name, but I will tell you that SHE is from my school, she hates me, and she was totally naked!
To some relief, I noticed that I was wearing cargo shorts and a T-shirt.
I asked her what she thought she was doing she told me that she "could not resist any longer" I guess my mortal terror and shock caused me to have another false awakening.

I had a vivid false awakening in my own bedroom. There was this boy in my room (who's name was Connor I think)
He said that he was borrowing an eyepiece from my telescope to look at something.
He set up this really old looking telescope on my windowsill and looked out at the sky from my window. I told him to just stay as long as he wanted. I was going back to sleep.

I finally woke up in real life, after all of those dreams. I made sure to RC to make sure I was not going to FA again without catching it.
