I know how it feels, but it's important to know in order to learn lucid dreaming you need to break the wall, which means if you have a lot of free time (2 months maybe?) then you should spend this time extremely intense on lucid dreaming. Writing in your DJ every day and spamming every technique you can get your hands on, then you can start filtering out your best technique and keep fine-tuning it until you have your own induction method. |

If you read this do a reality check, you will thank me later...
In order to accomplish anything in life, you will hit this place. You don't feel like doing it anymore, but you have to persist. Look towards the future to keep better track of today. |

Hi, AmazingDreamer. Unfortunately, no one can really supply you with motivation; it's something you have to develop from within. |

My main motivation is dream recall. I absolutely *love* recalling my dreams. In fact, the longer I do LD practice, the more I feel like I'm actively living my dreams as they happen, and not simply recalling some vague memory that may or may not have happened to me or just been something I read, etc. Lucidity is the icing on the cake, and is the main reason I started, but it's the recall that keeps me going in between the lucids... if you can cultivate a strong love of all your dreams even the non-lucid ones (which are more fun anyway IMO), the motivation comes from the incredible desire, the "need" to maintain and extend these experiences. |

Break those mental blocks. Everytime you regained your motivation, you'll see that it's easier to keep up your practice. Until it's just something you do, like breathing. |

I completely agree with FryingMan. Learning to love your non-lucids is one of the best ways to keep your motivation. We all have ups and downs in motivation, but learning to lucid dream requires daily discipline and effort. Just think of how much better you'll have got in some months time, picture yourself succeeding and think of yourself as a lucid dreamer. Motivation is key, so once you grab a hold of it, hold on tight! |

You don't technically need a dream journal but it really REALLY helps. I've been pretty lazy about it too but I usually get away with it by recounting my dream to myself several times. The motivation should be what you can do in a lucid dream. All of your wildest dreams can come true and you have the ultimate power to do so. Want to fight with gladiators in rome? you can do it. Want to fly to the moon and have a picnic with bill clinton? You can do it. Want to bang a hot chick, hell you can do that too. In the end you just gotta take the initiative and DO IT. |
|
The motivation can come from within or from the outside. I think a good mentor could also help you. You could look for someone in this community that really motivates you. Or look up some books on lucid dreaming. I return here everytime I need to refuel my motivation because I find so many here so motivational towards this common goal. It does take time and if you cultivate this hobby you will see results. Just keep searching out that fuel for motivation. Your on the right track. |
