Nice recall. I can relate to the bear dream, I have those all the time! Either a bear or a wolf chasing me. Very scary!
I see your recall is doing well FryingMan! You had some close to lucid moments there! "Hey, I could go get a real girl!" Nice! The Star Trek expedition sounded cool as well! Thanks. Unfortunately had a bit of "recall recoil" last night -- sort of jumbled and not very long. Was sort of tired and frustrated at bed time. But I feel like I rested fairly well. Not close to lucidity, darn.
Awesome recall--sometimes epic NLDs are better than random "nothing happened" LDs. Cool stuff. Also: A young woman appears and is telling me that she remembers me as the guy who was always falling over slowly to the ground. I'm really embarrassed/angry about this, I tell her angrily that that was only before I was 12 years old and had yet to develop a sense of balance! I love stuff like this. "I didn't know how to fly when I was a wee lad, ok? Quit giving me shit!" Love it. Overall, sounds like a very near miss on the LD this morning. Awesome WILDing as well, even if it was a "half-wild." Good luck tonight.

Dream drinking - the cheapest way to get drunk! Love your drunken conversation! Bad luck with the slightly-too-late RC... Next time! Haha, always a lady's man, FM! Good luck on the comp points! You will kill it with your recall!
Yes that's a classic waking life old American board game. Quite fun, actually. You go around getting married, having kids, getting a job, and all sort of things can happen along the way.
Oh, so close with that nose pinch! And I had to google "The Game of Life" as I didn't know if it was an actual board game or just a product of your dream imagination.
Sure thing!
FryingMan, this is outstanding material! Thanks so much for taking the time to write it up. I took your advice (as best I could, I'm far from perfect right now) and was rewarded with several very clear memories of cool overnight NLDs. Many thanks for the advice! We are going to be podcasting this very night and recall is one of the topics! Would you be cool with me reading a portion of this on the show? (credited to you, of course!) There's some excellent advice in here, very relevant to the questions we're answering!
Thanks! Ideally I journal after every waking, but don't always have the willpower for that. That yields the most detail and the most dreams recalled. The next best thing which I've been working on is running through the list of dreams mentally on every waking trying to build a growing list that will survive through until morning: adding to the list with each waking. I also am a huge advocate of using a voice recorder: it's the fastest way to journal, you can do it with minimal physical movement, in the dark, with eyes closed. Then I transcribe in the morning (ideally, although lately I get a few days behind and sometimes skip days unless the dreams were particularly awesome). And I try to list all detail here: so it's slightly less impressive than it may look, since the shorter ones are more like fragments or single scenes from what are larger/longer dreams, they're not just summaries of more detail than I leave out. It's frustrating -- I *know* there's more detail but it slips away. The other secret is that I *never* take a break from recall: I *always* set intention to remember dreams, and *always* reach for recall on every waking where I have the willpower/awakeness to do it. Even when sick, even when stressed, always. I also usually ask myself "What was I just dreaming about?" mentally or out loud, that really helps the memories to come in. I usually spend at least 10-15 minutes in the final waking running through the dreams before getting up to see if I missed anything. Just this morning I had a really long one come in, probably the main dream for the night, that I had initially forgotten in the final waking, from an earlier waking. Summary: set intention, always reach for recall every waking, make *at least* mental notes (DJ preferred) and a running list of accumulated dreams all through the night, voice recorder, do it every night no matter what. I"m running out the door I'll try to add more detail later. Just wish I could convert more to lucids, still working on that!
You know what, FryingMan? Your recall is pretty damn awesome! I'm quite impressed. 9 dreams in a night?? What's your approach? Are you journaling in some fashion all through the night? Or do you have some other system for keeping all of your dream material organized? We'll be discussing dream recall on the next podcast and you seem like you must have a pretty good system worked out!
I like the dream map too! Quite a bit better than any I have drawn out...mine look like a small child's drawings. Congrats!!
Nice dream map, fryingman! Great way to add a more spatial element to your recall of this dream. I bet that'll help cement it even more firmly in your mind for in the future. Dream geography can be weird at times but this one sounded very consistent. LOL @ what you chose to spend your dream time doing. Congrats on the lucid!
Very nice! You got it posted! Good job dealing with the void and bringing back your lucidity after the confusion. Nice long lucid! Congrats!!
Awesome alien dream especially!!
Hahahahah!! I WAS THINKING SOMETHING TO MYSELF. It's okay if they didn't approve, I found that hysterical.
Congrats on the ld and Totm! I'm starting to sense a connection between lucidity and midnight tortillas, must try that too!
Maybe ask for their best tequila..."only the best for me and Jolie" and then "no, an even better one" and see if it gets more realistic and/or tasty...hmm that task is sounding more and more fun to me.
Haha I wasn't even thinking body shots, just getting blasted with her and letting nature run its course. But I like body shots better to get things rolling .
Congrats FM! And congrats on the TK! And you still have the body shots with AJ up your sleeve! We both did the spin last night, though mine put me into the void which I guess is a success in that the dream didn't end and no tricky FA.
