    Non-Lucid Dreams

    1. That old, heavy feeling

      Time for a nap, and as I fall asleep with the cats nestled around me, I feel like I am sleeping soundly. I hear someone call from the other room to come look at something, and when I try to stand, I become tangled in the sheets and start to stumble. I am turned around, backward, and falling slowly. I know that my head is going to hit the ground, but I can't bring my hands out from the blankets to catch myself. The world seems to me moving in slow motion, and i am heavy. Very, very heavy. I can see, and my eyes are open, but I keep trying to pull them open more, as it feels as though my eyelids are being pulled down from exhaustion.

      A man
      (my boyfriend, I realized when I woke up) comes in, because I am calling for help, and I know him, but I don't know him. He watches me fall and when I am resting on my back on the ground, he says he doesn't know who I am. I think, and I realize that I don't know who I am, either. In an instant, my father is there, though I don't recognize him either. The confusion is overwhelming, and I wake myself up. I never quite wake up all the way, but fall back into the same dream. This time when I stand, I'm not tangled in the sheets, I just don't have control of my limbs, and that heavy sensation is there again, as though every point on my body is being pulled to the ground. I try to tell myself that I am dreaming, and when I do wake up, it takes several minutes to gain enough confidence to try to stand up next to the bed.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I lay in bed, my brother on a palet on my floor. I just lay there, I can't sleep, I let my mind wander.

      "Guess who's here!!!" Lori said in a quiet but excited voice as she walked into the room. (Lori is my great aunt Connie's daughter, my cousin.)

      She was holding her daughter Tessa half asleep in her arms and Louis (her son) walked in behind her. It was late and I knew they had been on the road for 12 hours at least, so we didn't talk much. I hugged Lori after she laid Tessa in the bed next to me.

      "Tessa & Tessa" Lori saiding smirking and sighing happily.

      I chuckled. "I'm so happy you could come," I said after a moment, in a bit more serious tone. I and Lori exchanged understanding glances.

      "I'm gonna go talk to your parents, I'll see you guys in the morning. Love you," she said after a moment and left quietly.

      My brother and Louis played a board game in the other corner of my room quietly. I heard them debating softly over some aspect of the rules.

      "Tessa & Tessa," I mumbled to my self looking at Tessa sleeping next to me. I let out laughing sigh and sunk back into my bed.

      "Tessa, sweety, what time is it?" I heard Connie's voice.

      "Connie?" I mumbled dazed.
      "...CONNIE!" I yeled in surprise, everything flooding back into my mind.

      I woke up surprised that I had slept so deep that I didn't wake up when she first got out of bed. Though we did stay up all night talking, so I guess that explains it's self. XD

    3. Prom Night

      This dream is very random and some of it is just remembered in fragments.

      It started off Blair, a mutual friend (Bret, Jade's boyfriend), and I were in a parking lot. We were getting ready for prom and I for some reason, I was putting my tux on in the parking lot. So once it was on, I got in the car to go to prom. But when we got in, Bret informed us that we had to drive around to a different entrance to get to the prom but before we did that, we had to swing by his house. So we all crammed in his car and headed for his house. I remember on the way, Blair (my date) was trying to put on a black wig! It was extremely ugly but I did not want to tell her or hurt her feelings. We pulled into the garage and got out while he went inside. For some reason, my suit jacket had gone missing and I was looking for it. I was looking for it everywhere in the car, but could not find it.

      Finally, under the seat, I found a balled up suit jacket. I was mad because now it had wrinkles in it . But as I unfolded it, I realize that it wasn't my jacket. After closer examination however, I realized it WAS my jacket...but from about 8 years ago. It was a small suit jack with the logo of my old schools uniform printed on the front left side. This is exactly how the uniforms looked. I didn't find it odd, but was rather curious to what was inside of it. So I searched around and found my mom's wallet inside of it. I opened it up and found about $200 bucks cash in it! So I put in in my pocket.

      I can't remember what happens next, but the next thing i remember is walking into the front of the building where the prom was. Before the prom, we were eating some big, fancy dinner. So Blair (my date), Reid, and I are walking in the front door. I dont remember much about the actual place, just that it was very open. So we walk into this large room and there is a bunch of five year olds running around. So we assume were in the wrong room. We walk out and go across the hall into another large room. They have huge, round tables set up to fit 20 or so people around. In the middle of the table is a large fixture of flowers. And set up around the table, are name tags where everyones supposed to sit. The party I was with are spread out all throughout the table and none of us ar sitting next to each other.

      But I notice right next to me is a name tag for my date, but she also has a name tag at another seat. I'm trying to tell her she has a name tag, but for some reason she didn't believe me. And also, everyone else's name tags were lower case, but my date's was in all caps. I notice a few seats down from me (the only people at the table was the 3 people I was with and 2 other people) was an old lady. I remember she was really ugly and by the way she was acting, she had something mentally wrong with her. She started playing with the table and somehow, the whole table started rotating. I got out of my chair and just stood there while everyone else was rotating around the table. Blair (my date) made it to my side and saw that her name tag WAS right next to me so got up and stood next to me. After this, my dream fades out.

    6. A Three Lucid Morning

      Woah, I'm glad I decided to go back to sleep.

      1- Puppy with a Thousand Names
      I just bought a cute little dachshund puppy, but I can't come up with a name. Everytime I think of one I like, I forget it and come up with something else. To start with I'm calling her Doris, then Matilda, then Samantha...

      I teach her how to play fetch.... She's just so cuuute!


      2- Battle of Fire and Water
      I am surrounded by evil monks. My master is wounded; this battle is in my hands. But how can ONE win against THOUSANDS? I am barely able to keep them at bay with my fire magic, and my mana is running low. I quickly drink a potion which restores my power. But what good will it do? How can I defeat them? "Get them away from the floodgates," my master instructs. After a few failed attempts, I do as he says. Water rushes out of the gates and they all drown.

      3- Playing with Time Warps

      I am with the Doctor; he is a bit impatient with my cousin, so he decides to screw with her head a bit. He creates a time warp, and she walks up to him just as he is talking to a past version of her. She freaks out and runs away. Our laughter is interrupted by the sound of marching. A whole legion of warriors is coming out of Wal-Mart!

      "You of all people should know the dangers of playing with time warps!" I accuse as the army advances on us. "Look what you've done!"

      The general wants us both dead. Before he gives the order to attack, he randomly stabs an arrow into the head of a dwarf standing beside him. Okay, what was the point of that?

      The battle commences. I have a sword, and am actually doing a really good job of killing the soldiers. This is fun! The army is actually a mixture of humans and enslaved dwarves... I end up killing the arrow-dwarf's brother, and he wants revenge. (How is he still alive with that arrow sticking out of his head?) I knock him underneath a car. Now he can't sit up without the arrow hitting the bottom of the vehicle. Looks like a very painful way to be stuck...

      The scene changes; now I'm working for the General. I get an email about something detrimental to the General's plans. I can't let him see this... This could be the key to getting rid of him once and for all.


      4- Expectations (DEILD)
      Darkness. I'm not in SP anymore, I guess I woke up. But I RC anyway and become lucid. Yay! Only now, I can't open my eyes. Hmm... I take my sleep mask off, which has transferred over into the dream, but my eyes still won't open. I use my fingers and try to PRY them open... still no success. Oh well, I'll be able to see through them in a minute. I wander around the house blindly until I can see. I feel sort of confused though... For some reason I think I'm invisible.

      I go in my brother's room, where Steven and Matt are listening to the radio. I want to mess with them, so I throw something off the dresser at them. Apparently I'm not invisible, after all.

      My attention turns to the radio. Everything it is saying makes perfect sense. The commercials and the songs are all in real life clarity. Do they have this playing IRL? If not, my subconscious is awesome!

      I go outside. It's really dark, but I ignore this. I'm already having problems with staying in the dream, I need to stabilize this before I worry about the lights. (Or lack thereof.)

      I'm thinking about Leroy all of a sudden, and a man suddenly appears in front of me. Thinking it's my dream guide, I abruptly lose all my self-control and leap at him, giving him a big hug. I see a bit too late that I'm wrong, that this is just a random DC,
      and I wake up.

      ((Oops. I'm glad that wasn't Leroy, after all, since I had to go and act like that. Again.))

      5- A WILD within a DEILD
      I DEILD back into the dream. Yet again, I'm having the same problem with my eyes. I briefly consider ripping my eyelids off, but decide I don't really want to find out what that would feel like.

      I walk out of my room, into the hallway. I still can't see, but I am able to tell where I am just as easily. This dream is still really unstable... Maybe if I WILD within the dream, into a different dream, it will fix things? Worth a shot, anyway.

      I lay down right there on the floor, close my eyes (they were open, despite my blindness) and enter SP. There is a vague sensation of rolling around, and then...


      6- Exploration
      ...I am fully lucid in a new dream. Better yet, I can SEE again!

      Now I suddenly feel as if I need to prove myself for some reason. Maybe I'll go fight that werewolf... I head off toward it's lair. It's still pretty dark out, and there are random people along the road. Once I reach M's house I run into two mean looking dogs. I think they may have been in the pack that tried to kill me in another dream... "Hey, little doggies!" I say fondly, using passive control to make them like me. I pet them. "Wanna come help me kill a big bad werewolf?" Apparently not, they run off. I turn and fly toward the south. I'm near where I'm supposed to be; the warehouse where the werewolf lives is somewhere back here.

      Now, however, I'm distracted by the mountains beyond that. I had read something that The Cusp posted about dream mapping, about how there are certain borders on the edges of your dreamworld and that it's impossible to get past them. Well, I'll just have to see about that for myself. After a lot of flying and climbing, I make it over the mountains... only to find more mountains in the distance. Gah... I'm not going that far.

      Below me, there is a city. Since I'm here, I might as well check it out. I jump down, right in the middle of the road. Cars are coming at me from all directions, but I am unconcerned. It's fun leaping over them. A little tiny car drives by... I wonder what kind of person would drive something that small? I catch up with it and sit on top, riding through the city.

      I reach the lower district and get off. I am surprised by the variety of people, and how real they all look. Everything is so detailed; how could my mind possibly come up with all these different people?
      The dream fades, and I wake up.

    8. The Dream of the Post-Apocalyptic World, the Race and the Closed-Off Town

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I was in a post-apocalyptic world, except, shortly after the apocalypse. It was a zone with many shops spread in a desertic land. I knew it was past the apocalypse because: 1) most of the population had disappeared and 2) the country wasn't that desertic normally.
      However, the buildings were still standing and in a good shape.
      In the beginning, I was alone. Soon, I noticed 3 Black men running and I challenged them to a race along the empty shops. Surprisingly, I beat them all so they were in awe. I think one of them offered me ammo.
      Then I was with a group of other survivors, among whom a beautiful woman
      possibly inspired by Lara Croft or Megan Fox. We were looking beyond a highway bridge (definitely inspired by FallOut 3, we haven't got those here) where a giant set of Mikado sticks were. And by giant, I mean, several dozen feet long.
      We even consider using them as spears to defend ourselves.
      Then, Lara-Megan says she knows of a big city where we will be safe. She takes us to the entrance of the city, whose guards have ridiculous uniforms reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.
      We're told that to be let into the city, we need to pass a test of trust that is also a sort of inner conscience journey or stuff.
      Practically, it means being held down flat on a convector belt that takes us through the city and exposes us to different scenes of the city life for a day or two.
      Then we're into the city and I am with 3 childhood friends, twins: Gur (a boy) and Mad (a girl) and their older sister Soa. They're in their early teens again.
      I take them up a road, under a bridge, and up to my house which is on the left side of the road, hanging over a cliff.
      On the door there is a sign saying "Ande" followed by my name, Ande being a deformation of my mother's middle name, Andrée, and her father's name, André. Under it there is my own name.
      We get in the house, which is all in length: an entrance hall, a small kitchen, a tiny living-room and the bedroom.
      In the bedroom there is a big bouncy king-size bed (
      actually my grandmother's former bed) and a small one person bed to its left. I tell my 3 friends I'll take the small bed and they can sleep in the big bed. I start taking blankets for them.
    9. A few memorable past dreams.

      Well, now I know a little more about the site I'm gonna stick a few old and memorable ones and end it with last nights, marking the start of hopefully a continued DJ.
      I'm gonna interject in these dreams in black, so black is not part of the dream itself, but afterward reflection.

      This first is from when I was about 4-5 and we had within the past couple years moved to the house I still live in today (aside from the fact I'm in Japan this year). It was a nightmare, I think I had it twice, but I'm not sure. I don't often have nightmares. After this, the last was late last year, when I was 18.

      I'm walking down the corridor of the house. I pass the bathroom, and I pass my eldest brother's room, and my second eldest brother's room. These bedrooms are almost opposite each other, the latter being about meter further down the corridor. I glance into my second eldest brother's room in passing. I note the normal light shade on the hanging light on the ceiling. Later I'm walking the other way up the corridor, I glance in the same room and the shade is replaced by a cage, in the cage is a dummy. Much like the one from goosebumps, this was probably around the time we'd been watching goosebumps on Sundays after going in the pool. Later I'm in my dad's car and we're driving down our driveway, we park on the other side of the road to my driveway. I see the other car coming down the driveway, as it turns onto the road I see the dummy in the back. I try to scream out a warning but I have no voice.

      This second is one that held some significance for some reason, I remember it well, though I think it's only part.

      I come through the tall reeds either side of me and come across a lake. Standing in front of the lake are 2 silver Chinese/Japanese dragons. Fairly small, but long, when standing they're about the same height as me. I'm on the ground face down and one of them runs/flies over me, so close that the scales/feathers brush against me.

      The next was perhaps the scariest nightmare I've ever had, or that I've ever remembered. Fairly recent, around the end of last year, creepy as anything... Though can't see why it was really that scary now.

      I'm walking up stairs, in a museum. I turn to the left and enter a room. In the room are some articles of art, but one catches my eye. It is a wooden seat of abstract design, as though many 1cm thick planks of dark redwood are arranged to make a low rounded and slightly flattened sphere with an indentation to sit in. I sit in it. Opposite me is a triangle, a tall isosceles, white, with an eye in the upper middle. From here I can only remember patches, some man that I can't remember, and a lot of triangles with eyes, though as the dream progressed the became more keyhole shaped. I stress this freaked me out to no end, it was the most scared I've been in my life that I can think of. A friend later suggested that the eye could be the "all seeing eye" or "eye of providence", though I had not come across this image in life before. I had recently been to America though I hadn't consciously noticed it on the dollar bill while there, and was surprised at the resemblance when I took a look at one after the dream.

      I shall now describe last night's dream fragment that I remember.

      I'm standing on a pedestal of some kind on the side of my pool, while my feet are in the water I see a strange snake in the water, I <do some unremembered activity> at it hoping to scare it off, but it comes and nips me on the toe. I sigh and yell as loud as I can "DAD" with little panic in my voice. From somewhere he replies, and I yell back "I got bitten by a snake" or something to that effect. Later I am looking at a website and am relieved to see it wasn't a snake at all, but it was a long fish with a large head and an improbably large jaw full of sharp teeth. This website had nothing to do with me. It can be interesting the way dreams shift and change on you, that fish looked nothing like the snake that bit me, yet I acted as though it were the same, even after I knew that this site (and hence the incident) had nothing to do with me.

      That brings me roughly up to date, I might put more old ones up if I remember them, but I want to concentrate instead on writing them as they come, I remember a lot of old dream fragments and to put them all up would be long...

    10. In the beginning.

      I'm gonna start with an old dream, my oldest dream that I remember, naturally nothing resembling lucidity as I was only about 3 or 4 at the time, I was barely Lucid in real life... It will also lack a lot of detail for as time has gone on I've probably embellished much of it in my head.

      I'm standing at the door of a wooden tree house looking out. In front of me I can see a wide expanse of forest. Coming towards me from a path down the middle is a group of scared children, being chased by a large purple dragon, a little cartoony looking. As the children rush into the tree house, I am invisible and I step to the side of the entrance. The kids run past, and then the dragon. I'm am not seen, and I am relieved.
      It's a short dream, but the fact that it has stayed with me this long I think merits it mention, along with a few other old ones that I may post up later.

    11. Hippies Night Out

      Synopsis: Two random dreams I barely remember. In the third I hang out with hippies in the field under the star light. But the night ends on a loud note!

      Night Time Note: I went to bed late, and didn't do my dream mantra

      Two Random Dreams
      More like random notes. Let's see, I scribbled down "jabaneros" "beach flood" "containing" and "family dog". I remember something about some Mexican Cowboys, that I called jabaneros. They were riding on horses. But then the high tide came in - the beach was flooded. And the jabaneros were riding their horses in knee high water. I don't remember the dog?

      In another dream I was watching a comedy. All I remember now, was that I laughed myself awake

      Hippies Night Out
      I'm hanging out with hippies in a field near suburbia. I'm just having a nice time sitting on a blanket, looking at the stars. They're twinkling in a way that isn't normal. It feels like I've been here for hours. But some of the people here weren't all that interested in just enjoying the night sky. Instead they got drunk, wasted, and rowdy. It was past 3am and we decide it's time to pack up. That's when the rowdier members decide to play REALLY LOUD music at the last minute. Like a rock concert.

      They play the music for only about a minute. But really that's more than enough time to wake up the entire sleeping neighborhood! I scream "What are you doing!!" They laugh as they take down their make shift tent. Were going to get in so much trouble thanks to them!

      We all run for it before any cops find us. And to get 'back', we had to climb this rickety iron ladder. It was so rusty, unstable and tiny, I freaked out so much when it was my turn - I woke up.

    12. No-lucidity Dream Control

      I was at a dock. It was an ordinary, wooden dock that actually looked fairly brand-new, and there were a few boats stationed around it, facing out towards a vast sea. I was looking out towards it too, at the end of the dock. Behind me was a large land mass filled with houses and other buildings, and trees. It almost reminded me of Orlando, Florida.

      I wanted to take a boat ride, but all the boats weren't touching the dock, so I couldn't get inside any of them. I looked at one, a white boat with a thin blue stripe going horizontally across it, and pulled it in with my hands, using an invisible rope. I saw its wake as the boat came towards me with surprising speed. I stopped gesturing as if I were holding a rope, and now I gestured randomly with my hand to make it turn, Transformers-style, into a super futuristic boat.

      That didn't work, though; nothing happened.

      I ditched the boat because I had now lost interest, and saw a vehicle parked where the dock began. It almost looked like a Honda Element, but the body was curved and the rear end of the car was box-like. It's difficult to explain. The car had a silver paint job. I looked it up and down and got inside.

      Now I was watching from a third-person perspective. I thought the car looked horrid now, so I looked away and looked back, expecting it to be cooler. It changed a bit and was now more curvy and futuristic, but not quite. I looked away and back again, and it was now really boxy. It had the Hummer logo on the side, and it looked exactly the same as the real thing. But the model was "5", a non-existent number for Hummer.


      It was like this except with the number 5.

      The dream skipped forward and I was now back at the dock, but not on it: I was on a beach, and the dock was situated a few feet away. The water looked crystal clear and I could see dolphins coming up for air. I decided to try diving without a scuba mask, so I imagined I could breathe underwater, and I submerged myself. The water was only a few feet deep, so I didn't get all of myself under. When I was underneath the surface, I could breathe normally. I saw a dolphin looking at me, and it wasn't moving at all. I also couldn't move, myself. I came back up.

    13. Shooter Game

      We were at my dads house. It was dad's house but a few things looked different. We were getting ready to play a game were we were going to shoot each other with guns. I wasn't nervous at all. We were playing with these people that I knew but I cannot remember them now. We were getting ready to play, so they left to go hide. We started looking for our guns in a cabinet but couldn't find them. So instead I got some knifes. I remember I got a pocket knife made out of material that resembled the Mac. We never played the game because we couldn't find the guns. So as I was going downstairs, someone was creeping up the stairs so I leaned over the stairs and cut him lightly on the hand. Then I went downstairs. My brother was sitting at the dinner table and my dad was in the kitchen. I asked where Bobby was and my brother jokingly told me he had left. My dad called Tyler out on his lie and Tyler chuckled. Then my dad brought out a puzzle and said we were going to play the war game with the puzzle and a bunch of different "lotteries."

    14. Dwarven Artificer

      This seems to be a dream within a dream; I start playing Dungeons and Dragons at my research station, choosing the dwarf artificer as my character. Perspective quickly shifts to being the dwarf in a fantasy worldscape. I'm heading with my party into a mining town, which has as its access point an impressive tower that lowers into the mines. I enter and begin walking down the stairs to my assigned bunk. It seems to take ages, and as I pass the other adventurers who have already gotten bunks, I notice that their names are written on whiteboards in the style of a college dorm. All of them have names of people I know from my college, as well.
      When I arrive at the bottom of the stairs, I find my real life name written on a board beside a bunk. The space is very spartan, and in the back of my head I wish there were a faucet to wash my hands. When I turn around, lo and behold, there is one! I remember the "turnaround summon" I've read about on the Dreamviews forums, and this reality check lets me realize that I'm dreaming. I get about a second or two of true lucidity as water pours over my hands, but after that I wake up. My eyes are still closed and I try fervently to get lucidity back, but the images I'm conjuring are just like those of a waking daydream and not the full-sense immersion of a lucid dream.

    15. Poor Sleep

      So... sleepy...

      1- Untitled
      I am riding in a car with a guy about my age. He is working for some sort of secret agency, and says he has to kill the person in the car ahead of us. "Um, what?" He barely gives me enough time to brace myself as he slams his foot down on the gas pedal, crashing into the other car with full force. My ribs hurt a little, but otherwise I am fine.

      The guy puts his arm around me, and I ride leaning up against him for the rest of the ride.

      The scene changes; I am watching from a 3rd person POV as a Japanese girl transfers to an English school. She cannot speak English, so she locates another student who speaks Japanese to be translator. They speak nonsense-Japanese, but there are subtitles, so I know what they are saying.

      "Hideski ka?"

      "Hideski wa Ayumi."

      TRANSLATION: "Who are you?" "I'm Ayumi."

      The scene switches again. I am now with the Japanese girl, but she is no longer Japanese. We are trying out for track. My legs aren't working, and she isn't really trying. Neither one of us really want to be here...

      All the rest of the girls are following this one guy around, chanting his name. They're practically worshiping him, since he's the fastest runner. The coach tells him not to get in a car accident and get himself paralyzed, because a lot of people are counting on him. O.o
