    1. Lucid Dream #83: Nose Pinches Don't Work!

by , 03-15-2014 at 12:58 PM (Lucid Time!)
Related Fragments: I am at some gave development conference where you have to design a game in 48 hours. I play two of the games.

My game is called robo-hunter and it is supposed to have a retro feeling. It is rendered in 3D and in the game you are a spaceman and you travel around a maze avoiding or fighting robotic enemies and collecting coins and power-ups. Everything is done in bright colors though.
But this game has a cool introduction that shows you all of the enemy types by panning around the world in a cool way.
There are three types of robots. The weakest type are simply little walking boxes with wind-up keys and eyes. They're cute. But there are a lot of them, and they have little laser antennas on their heads.
The second type look like your classic retro robots they hold dual laser pistols and are tougher.
The third type are these big hulking tank robots. They are a complex 3-D model and have missile launchers. There is music synced up to the sound of them walking. The music or the robot alone were not very cool but together they sounded much more intimidating. I've noticed music is starting to take hold in my dreams more often.
The judges at the game making competition stopped there and didn't even bother to play the game. They simply stated that I had won right there with my opening movie.

I played someone else's game. It is rendered in 2D and has these different planets you can travel to. Some of the planets are very strange. I remember one called the algae planet that looked like a big green virus.
I asked them how they rendered the background. Was it procedurally generated or what? At that moment, the background began to glitch and I saw the stars form into orderly rows.

      Lucid Dream #83

I wake up (enter the dream) and I have just arrived at school on the bus. First thing that is fishy is the fact that I am on a school bus. I get out and read the sign.
      "Bicameral High School."
"Oh, SH*T I'm at the wrong high school! How did this happen? Oh man now I'm gonna be late and my parents are gonna be p*ssed!"
I start walking around the school. Knowing it's not mine, no reason to go into the school. The school looks like mine in most regards but seems to be in a more urban area.

"Oh man... I am in such deep crap. Wait... This kind of thing never happens to me! Better reality check!"
I do a nose pinch reality check. It doesn't work, I can't breathe. This was weird.

"I can't breathe... this means this is waking life! No, this can't be right! Something is up."
Keep walking, crossing streets and heading into an urban/city center area. I keep thinking to myself. I have my phone in my pocket. I could make a call to someone.
I stop and really think about my situation. I look at a brick wall and punch it. It doesn't hurt.
"Okay, I don't know of any high school named Bicameral High School anywhere near my district. This city does not look familiar. You know what, I don't care if that nose pinch doesn't work, I have to be dreaming."

I do the nose pinch one more time just to make sure, and it does not work this time either. This is freaky, but I know for sure that this is probably just a lucid dream. As I walk down the road, I notice something else. Like 80% of the dream characters in this city are females. Very attractive females.
I had some diolouge with some of the female dream characters, but cannot recall what it was. Something prompts me to start running. By this point I am getting out of the city and into a residential area on the other side. There is a small corner ice cream shop. I look and run across the street to get inside. As I am running, I affirm that my dream guide will be inside.
I get inside and nobody is there. Then, my dream guide walks out from the back room. (Bonus points for wearing the ice cream vendor uniform.) She opens the gate in the counter and allows me to come back behind the counter.
"How come my nose pinch reality check didn't work?"
"This is not a lucid dream. It is an alternate reality representative of your sexual desires. You know how you (garbled)"
She sits down under the sink.
"Does that explain why all of the dream characters are female?"
She says something but it's garbled and quiet. I feel like she's shrinking away under the sink. I grab the sink basin, the sides of it bend and crush in my hand. I rip it off. Water sprays out of the pipe and Lia is nowhere to be found.
"Hey... I wasn't done talking to you."
I turn around, the broken sink outlet is still gushing water, and I am still holding a bent metal sink basin. There are about half a dozen dream characters standing in the door of the ice cream shop. Half female, half male. Most of them look to be adults or middle aged.
"There he is!" one of them yells.
I recognize the look on these characters faces. They are "crazed" with stopping me from lucid dreaming. (Don't know why this keeps happening.)
I run to the side and punch through the glass on the side of the shop. I remember the way the broken glass doesn't cut me and just sort of fell away from me. The ice cream shop has one of those fenced-off outdoor eating areas. Some of the characters follow me through the shop, while the others surround the eating area from the outside.
I climb up onto the fence of the eating area and jump. The characters are surrounding me at this point.
      Come on! Fly Fly flyflyflyflyfly!
I jump up just as the characters are about to grab me. I go about ten feet into the air and start drifting back downwards. I try to remember how to fly, cause it's been a long time. Oh, yeah!
I put my hands down to my side and focus my energy through them. I got my little blue fire jets. I angle myself out over the street and keep going up. The mob of dream characters gives me that "we'll get you next time!" look. But I have a new problem. There are huge fully grown trees in this area and my flying feels a little less controllable. I don't want to hit the trees, but I keep brushing up against smaller branches. This I don't mind. It actually helps me to stabilize the dream some.
I turn back, facing toward the urban center of the city. I am getting above the trees now, but there is a large pine tree that I am going to hit the top of. I don't try and stop flying, I just let myself hit it.
I end up grabbing onto the top of the tree and almost sort of hugging it. I just feel it and stabilize the dream some. The dream is destabilizing, I am waking up. I do my best to hang onto the tree, but end up waking up.

    2. Lucid Dream #81: What to Do? #82: Dream Music

by , 03-12-2014 at 09:41 AM (Lucid Time!)
      Fragement: Muffin
I am eating a muffin with Chocolate Chips. It tastes Delicious.

      When did I dream this?
      I can't remember but it's cool.
I am watching some sci-fi TV show with my dad. The show centers around a human colony on another planet that gets attacked by aliens. The human colony is this huge glass building that is four towers connected at the top by these glass bridges (an interesting architectural design) and the building is built next to this plaza with a huge tree in the middle. The rest of the colony looks industrial and has docking bays for spaceships.
The plot of the show had something to do with the colony getting infected with "red energy", a secret plan done by some aliens that converted it from a human colony to one of their colonies. I can remember the glass wall building converting into a twisted alien building and the big tree becoming this landing tower for the alien ships. the alien ships looked like flying ant heads with big pincers of the front that spat out green plasma bolts.
I don't recall much about the actual characters. I can recall there being a father-son duo of Russian security guards that escaped the base before it was converted.

      LD#81
So I was going through some dream about the layout of a town or city. Now I wasn't lucid at this point and the dream was not very clear. I ended up going inside of a video game store and finding out that there was a greenhouse type setting inside the store.
I began walking around the greenhouse setting and some other dream characters were attempting to converse with me on some things. I walked toward the back of the greenhouse and tried my best to shut them out and tell them that I wished to be alone.
I got to the back of the greenhouse where there were a number of small sticks on the ground. Now these sticks were rather strange because they were not natural looking. They were like small wooden construction sticks, like a toy or something.

And for whatever reason, I thought that it would be a good idea to try and lift the sticks with my mind. I started saying "Lift" and concentrating on one of the sticks and it would levitate. I began using increasingly complex movements to pick up the sticks and place them into a plastic bucket.
Wait a second, I can never move things with my mind in real life! ...so that means that I must be
dreaming! Oh, F**k yes, a lucid dream!
I stand back from the area that I am focusing on and find that I am in the basement of my own house.
"I'm dreaming! Stabilize! I will not wake up!"
Clarity begins to come in, but I am not quite satisfied.
I stomp my foot on the ground and get a better feeling of my dream body.
I rub my hands together and get some weird visuals when I do. When I rub my hands, I look at them and I see waves of what looks like TV static in all colors spread out and hit the sides of the room. When the waves hit the sides of the room, it becomes more vibrant and lifelike.
I make my way upstairs and notice that I feel naked. I get upstairs in the bathroom and look in the mirror to confirm it, and, Yes, I am naked. I close my eyes and think to myself. "Okay... underwear, pants... (I feel these clothing items appear on my body, this is weird by the way.) do I really need a shirt? Nah? Let's see if I can make myself look totally buff! Just for fun!"
I open my eyes and I have black pants on and while I'm no bodybuilder I certainly look more muscular than in real life.
"Not perfect, but whatever. Let's go outside!"
I look out the window by the front door to my house. It is nighttime and snowing. Let's see if we can change that.
"Set time: Day" I say to myself.
      It becomes day outside.
      "Set season: Summer"
The clouds clear and the snow melts down by a few inches instantaneously. But I want to get rid of all the snow. I repeat the command four additional times attempting to remove all of the snow. Once all of the snow is gone, I step out into the yard. It is warm, and the grass is green.
I look up and see that the sun is behind the house and that the front yard is in a shadow. I might want to go to the backyard where it is lighter, but instead I decide to try and move the sun.
      "Sun: Move to Here!"
      It fails.
I recall one of my other lucid dreams, where I grabbed hold of the sun in the sky and moved it with a voice command.
      "Rrrgh! What was that command!?"
And I realized how long I had been doing this and how many different voice commands I had been through.
"Sundial!" I attempted to move the sun in the sky with my hand. It failed.
I just give up and think to myself about what I could do next. There are no dream characters about. I can't recall what the TOTMS are. I thought about my powers. Perhaps practicing some firebending or flying. My guide is nowhere to be found.
I then just begin to think for a moment, as I examine the empty dream world about how advanced of a lucid dreamer I've become. I think about some of my old lucid dreams, such as the first one that I ever had and think of how many dreams I've had, and how now, I am just familiar with lucidity. It's just something that I do. Okay, I'm not like some of the lucid dreaming gods out there, but I've gotten pretty good...
It was around this time that I spotted two of my cats from WL. They began fighting and I yelled at them to stop. They stopped for a few seconds then went back to it. I decided to just wake up by watching them fight. I awoke.

edit: I actually put this lucid dream in at around 4:30 AM. At around 5:00 I ate breakfast and at around 6:00 I took a shower. At around 6:30 I went to bed and slept for another 90 minutes (so until 8:00. And this was what ended up happening while I was back in bed.)

I listened to dream music. And I'm going to say that this was a lucid dream because I knew that the music was coming out of my mind. It was a lucid dream with no visuals. I was just in "the black" Something that I don't think I've ever heard of before. That or it was just a hypnoponic hallucination that I grabbed onto.
Now I don't know that much about music, but I will describe this to you as best I can. The song sounded electronic with a sort of synthetic piano and drum beat. The drum beat was stable and the drum sounded really deep, almost like a sub-woofer in a car. The synthetic piano sounded buzzy and obviously electronic, but in a soft, smooth way. And the piano seemed to have a sort of pattern of going up and down very fast creating really complex patterns. The third "layer" was these electronic beeps. They were subtle, but still they were what I was concentrating on the most. The sound was just so strange, but so engaging that I could really describe it. And had a pattern, but it changed a little bit in pitch and length. You would hear six beeps and then get a break for a few seconds where the Piano portion took over. The beeps sounded somewhat soft and deep for a "beep" sound and actually made the other instruments sound quieter for the moment they were played. The song wasn't extremely exciting, But not relaxing either. It was just beautiful somewhat medium-energy music.
As soon as I recognized exactly what was happening, I grabbed onto the song and simply enjoyed it. I knew exactly what was happening and was simply along for the ride. As I listened to this "mind's music" for what felt like two or three minutes. But I had to work not to concentrate on it too much or modify the song, otherwise I might damage it's natural beauty. The song even gave a proper outro with the Beeps, Drums then Piano leaving in that order and I snapped out of the state and woke up.

    3. So Close!

by , 03-04-2014 at 03:14 PM (Lucid Time!)
      Two Nights Ago

I have been put in prison. The prison is really strange, each inmate gets a very small cell about four feet wide by four feet deep by eight feet tall. They are chained to the floor and the bars of the cell... well there are no bars its more like a wire weave from a chain link fence.
I arrive at the prison late in the day. Some of the other prisoners are giving me dirty looks. I simply decide that maybe I can just lay down on the floor of my cell and lucid dream. I lay down and begin thinking my MILD mantra to myself.
After a minute or two, I notice that I am having difficulty falling asleep. I begin to think about why I am in prison and I cannot recall.[/COLOR] Wait a second, I am already dreaming!
False awakening. Into my own room, and it's time to go to school. I get up and change out of my pajamas and into school clothes. I then notice that I am late for school. Wait... I am never late for school! I am still dreaming!
      And I wake up.

      Last Night

I am trying on different pairs of sunglasses. They are all very ugly.

Somebody's house burned down while they were cooking broccoli for dinner. I think it was a family of four. After the fire was put out the fire department took them to the fire station. The family complained that they were hungry and the fire department got some pop-tarts out of their locker. The mom (who was some kind of dietician) demanded that the fireman who was serving them bring them broccoli. So he went to the grocery store and bought a vegetable tray for the family.

      Superhero Prison Break (Groggy Lucid)

I am outside a prison or industrial compound location. It is nighttime and snowing heavily. There is a large chain-link fence around the perimeter of the compound with light posts every 10 meters or so. Beyond the fence it goes to woodland.
I am hiding in the woods. Superman, Batman and Wonder woman are with me, and for some reason, we are preparing to break into the prison to rescue someone. Also, something about this situation seems familiar,
like I might have had a dream about this setup before. And I feel like last time the heroes betrayed me and tried to use a sedative on me and then lock me in the prison.
Just at that moment, Superman tries to grab me from behind. I flip him over me and slam him into the ground. (Guess I have superpowers too.) Batman throws batarangs at me and I blast them out of the air with little fireballs.
Wonderwoman traps me with her lasso. Superman comes in front of me holding the sedation needle in front of my face.

Then for just this moment, I become lucid. And boy did I think quick and clever...
      FUS RO DAH!

Superman goes flying back into one of the light posts on the perimeter of the prison. When he hits it, it bends and partially tips over. The lights flash out on that post. Also, he loses the sedation needle in the snow.
Batman compliments me on my quick thinking and states that he has changed his mind. He wants me to be a part of this team.
I hear alarms in the prison. Guards start rushing out to get us and me and the other superheores set aside the fight and retreat.

    4. Grey Eyes and Weird House (LD #80)

by , 02-27-2014 at 12:39 PM (Lucid Time!)
      Grey Eyes
Gonna be a very memorable fragment. I just remember looking into a pair of big grey eyes that were looking back. As I looked at them, I noticed one eye started turning more orange and the other eye started turning more blue.

      Weirdest House Ever
I was with a large group of people at some Caribbean restaurant. Though this feels more like one of those far east places with the big grill table where they cook the food in front of you. I guess a combination of those two places. We were deciding what to order. I kept trying to order fish, but the host/hostess (can't remember if it was a boy or a girl now.) was saying that they were out of fish and could not serve me any because their whole supply of fish had been served two days ago and they had to order more. I just decided to order some french fries instead.
After the host/hostess left, I put my head down and fell asleep. (So there's such a thing as a false awakening, but is there such a thing as false-falling asleep?)
The next thing I know, somebody tells me to look at the moons in the sky. I look up and see four small moons in a row.

Wait a second? Moons? As in plural? That's a dream sign! [Does nose pinch reality check]. Heck yeah a lucid!
Side note interjection: I have been on a really frustrating dry spell for the past two weeks. It seems like no amount of reality checks or MILD mantras can break it. Last night, I just gave up, I was like" f**k it, I haven't LD'ed in two weeks" I can't break this dry spell, I'll just wait for it to end. So I actually had some conflicting feelings about getting lucid. Okay, great, I'm lucid, but also really? I'm lucid after I just gave up.
"Wait... does this mean that I'm asleep in that restaurant? *shugs* may as well enjoy it while it lasts."
Anyways, I'm in a subdivision again. I didn't stabilize, but dang this dream is vivid. I can feel the warm rays of the sun coming down on me. I can feel the ground with each footstep, and the visuals were the equivalent of watching a HD Widescreen TV. I look around and notice there are some cars sitting around. Maybe I could try and drive one while lucid. Nah, some other time.
I start walking down the middle of the street. As I do, it becomes more and more apparent that I am in my own subdivision, rather than just a random one.
I can even hear stuff. I look behind me because I hear a car coming. I see a red minivan driving down the road. The character driving pulls to the left and drives across some laws before pulling into what I assume was his driveway.
Yeah, real considerate of your neighbors, random dream character.
And because I had given up on lucid dreaming out of frustration, I had no intentions or dream goals. And my lucidity wasn't crystal clear, so I guess I just defaulted to "talk to my dream guide". Maybe she will be in one of these houses. I pick a random house, a rather strange looking one for my sub that has pale green bricks and a large glass window on the front. This looks like the sort of place I could find her.
I walk up to the front lawn. As I get closer some kind of security system becomes visible. Not because I was too far from the house. It was because it was camouflaged somehow. There is a small glass box on the front lawn, and a high glass fence. The fence has some kind of blue energy conduit running along the top.
I walk into the glass box. There is a little doorbell button. I press it.

      "Hey! Hey! Buzz Me In!"
The door opens and I walk into the lawn. By the front door of the house are four security guards holding assault rifles. I get to the door, that appears to be made of solid metal. (What kind of place is this?!) This door opens for me too and I go inside.
I climb the stairs and get to the second floor. The whole second floor of this house has been converted into this bar/nightclub setup.
The last thing that I recall is that a girl walks past me carrying an Ipod and her earbud cable gets caught around my arm. I help the little girl get it untangled and remind her to wrap up her cable as to not let it get caught on things.

    5. Pictured Spear

by , 02-21-2014 at 08:57 PM (Lucid Time!)
Now this to me was a weird one, and there is going to be a lot of side notes to go along with it.

Dream: I am in my elementary school music room (Kind of a weird setting for a dream.) and I am have the spear from this cartoon that I drew of parallels to my dream characters.

And the actual content was rather lame. I had the spear, and I was in the music classroom. Non-lucid, just twirling it around and practicing with it calmly, trying to feel for how much control I had over the spear.
For those who don't know, this is a personal ensign that I created, meant to represent the letters L D (For Lucid Dreaming) I have this ensign drawn on post it notes that I place around the house, and on the covers of my schoolbooks. It is a sign to remind me to reality check. If I can get this sign to appear in my dream, then bang! easy lucid!

I also had a particularly interesting semi-lucid dream. I was playing some sort of video game and the main character was a young African American girl who lived in a small tribal village setting. I somewhat knew this was a dream or a "mental simulation" of sorts.
Anyways, this mental simulation/video game was similar to an RPG and you could level your character up by doing certain tasks. I decided to focus on running and achieving maximum speed. So I ran from the village into this forest area where I encountered some large hermit crabs that were supposedly enemies in the game. But they fled when I came near them.
I then encountered (and I'm not kidding here) a tyrannosaurs rex that chased me. Luckly my running skill was leveling up and I was able to outrun him. I returned to the village area where I would have to eat and sleep and prepare for the next day of game-play. Also, because the dream was in third person it was not very vivid.

    6. Lucid dream #79: Basic TOTM

by , 02-14-2014 at 11:38 AM (Lucid Time!)
I am dropped into some neighborhood area, and am already lucid. I instantly figure that I am dreaming. But just to be sure I do a really long nose pinch RC to confirm it. I then proceed to lay down some stabilization techniques such as shouting "increase clarity", "max clarity" and rubbing my hands together. As I stabilize the dream some more it becomes my own neighborhood rather than some random neighborhood.
I begin walking north along the eastern side of my sub. As I do, I notice that I feel somewhat weighted down, like I am wearing heavy clothing. I noticed that the dream world still feels rather muffled and separate, and I want to feel it more. I look and see that I am wearing headphones. I throw those off my head and drop them on the sidewalk.
I am also wearing a black hoodie. I take that off to reveal that I am wearing a white T-Shirt underneath. I took my phone and wallet out of my pocket and dropped them onto the ground.
I recalled the TOTM, or the one I had set my sights on, to ask a dream character who my soulmate was. I thought about manifesting one of my persistent dream characters, as they may offer the most interesting response. I tried to manifest them by turning around and having them appear. Nopes.
I decide to try and see if there are any dream characters and K's house. It's quite a ways away and I don't want to waste precious dream time, so I terraskate most of the way there. I also took note that my house was next to K's house. I thought about going in there instead, but stuck to my plan of going to K's house.
I stopped terraskating and walked up to their house. They had a black metal bench in their frontyard that I ran my hand across as I walked past to stabilize the dream some more. I was amazed at how real the bench felt.
I opened the door and K's mom was there, and here's the funny part, K was like seven or eight years old, and there was a clone of me, like seven or eight years old and the two were playing together, like when I had first met K. I interrupted the play and asked the younger K how old she was. She said that she was two. (lol)
I went out on the back porch with K's mom. I was going to ask her the question on my mind. I recalled it agian and had it ready. Their back porch was rather weird, they had a large wooden roof over it (not there in RL). K's mom was barbecuing something.
      So I asked her.
"Who do you think my soulmate is?"
"I don't know what a soulmate is. Would you like to hear some interesting things about brain research and memory. I can explain to you why I don't know."
Not a very concise answer. I thought about leaving and asking another dream character. But at that moment, something exploded, and the wooden roof fell down on top of me "killing" me and ending the dream.

I want to try this again with a persistent dream character.

    7. Lucid Dream #78: Changing Winds

by , 02-08-2014 at 12:13 PM (Lucid Time!)
I am in my sub. Jack, Marcus and Lia, all my regular dream characters are there. Also it is summertime. We are near the entrance of the sub and seem to be walking back to my house.
      Hello!
      Dreaming!
We are walking in a line. I am talking with one of the characters. (God help me what about.) The dream is actually pretty vivid despite the fact that I did not apply any stabilization techniques. I am trying to talk with my dream characters, but wind is blowing and perpetually making a loud interference noise.
I stop, and command the wind to go only half as fast. The wind seems to slow down by a tiny amount. I command the wind to stop entirely.
I lose some lucidity around here. The air falls stagnant, and I notice that almost instantly, the dream starts feeling hotter. Everyone stops walking. But after a few moments, the winds pick up again and blow the warm feeling way. I get somewhat frustrated and decide to do something rather random. I want to see how my dream characters will handle a gale force wind. So I create one.
They all fight it for a few moments until I decide to stop. I then point out to them that their clothes are the wrong colors.
(See this is why I hate partial lucidity, it turns you into an a-hole.) So I guess they were pretty sick of this because it felt like they caused me to awaken.

    8. Lucid Dream #77: Roller Coaster Flying

by , 02-03-2014 at 09:26 PM (Lucid Time!)
I was with S and H. We were at a theme park and were going to ride some roller coaster. Supposedly it was a roller coaster that H had designed. Because... my high school friend can design a roller coaster I guess.
Anyways, the thing is, I don't really like roller coasters, not because I am scared of them, but because I tend to get sick on them. and usually after just one ride, I am a crabby, headache ridden motion sick wreck or a person. But S and H talked me into it and we get on the coaster.
Anyways we are the only ones riding, S and H are together in the front car, and I am in the second car. The roller coaster starts pulling us uphill and I notice that the roller coaster goes up quite a ways into the air, at least a few hundred feet. It has a red and orange metal track. But other than that doesn't have any design features that are that spectacular. I start to have second thoughts when I notice that I cannot even see the top because it is obscured by some fog. (The dream was overcast.-ish.)
We peak the hill and drop off. But I get none of the uncomfortable feelings that I usually associate with roller coasters, but instead a thrilling free fall followed by an exhilarating turn. (The way a roller coaster should feel.)

I then thought about how I should try to "absorb" the experience and replicate it in a lucid dream. Little did I realize that I was already in a dream, so having that sort of thinking was actually somewhat funny.
I decided to simulate flying in a lucid dream. I tried to imagine what this location would look like without the roller coaster and I put my hands out in front of me in the form of fists, trying to pretend that I was flying like Superman. But, because I was already in a dream, the roller coaster track faded from existence, along with the other cars and my friends. The only thing that didn't fade was the second roller coaster car. Also, the fog cleared and it became sunny out.

I was flying, but I was still strapped in. I was the one keeping the car aloft. And sure, the thing was practically weightless. But I still felt cumbersome. So I broke the latch that was keeping me strapped into my seat, and dropped the coaster car into a nearby lake.
Then the man who built the coaster/ran the theme park came over and started complaining to me. I was just floating there over the lake. He said that he wanted the coaster car recovered from the lake. So I kindly hovered down into the water, and lifted the car up with one arm. I deposited the car on the shore of the lake and the man thanked me.

Something was up, I had to reality check. Even though I was pretty much full lucid. So I decided to land. Next to [where the coaster was] was an open parkland area with some trees. I landed and did a nose pinch RC for a really long time, like ten seconds. It failed, but I was still thoroughly convinced that I was dreaming.
Now I'm going to skip what happened in the dream after this because a.) it's personal. b.) some could find it offensive. c.) it's BORING AS HECK!

So I had a false awakening in my own bedroom. Lost lucidity and woke up not long after that.

    9. Lucid Dream #76: The moon has 3 cats, Teaching DCs to Fly

by , 01-31-2014 at 11:28 AM (Lucid Time!)
I was having some non lucid dream that I can no longer recall all that well that involved me walking home from school. The dream may have been along the lines of an anxiety dream because I was counting on a friend to get my backpack for me; I had left my back pack at the tech school.
So I was walking home and taking a rather strange route, past the large blue factory near the edge of my town. There is a path that runs by it in RL, but in the dream, the path was broken, there were pits and valleys. It looked as though some construction work was being done on the factory.
I also took note that there were a large amount of gardening supplies, there were some plants in trays and saplings that looked as though they were ready to be planted. Perhaps the factory was looking to be environmentally friendly. I try to get through this part with out stepping on any flowers.
I get back on the path and it normals out a bit. I get to the end, where my subdivision would start, but this does not look like my subdivision at all. I may also note the seasonal difference. In my home state it is winter, but in this dream it was summer. The subdivision I was in looked something like mine, but the layout appeared different.

I get lucid here, for no reason at all!. For a moment I was excited. In getting lucid I had just completed my goal of 8 lucid dreams this month. (And in the 11th hour too.) But here we are.
I took a right off the path and began walking down the street. I rubbed my hands together and said to myself "stabilize dream."
I tried to execute some voice commands, but they didn't work. My voice sounded rather strange too, like that clip of the "only thing we have to fear is fear itself speech." I didn't care. Also, I felt like I was wearing a cloak. I caught glimpses of a hood in my peripheral vision and had long black sleeves on.
I also took note of one thing that I have never heard before in a dream; birdsong. And it was beautiful.
I got to the end of the street and arrived into some kind of cul-de-sac. I felt a strong wind blow in out of the forest in front of me. And an even stronger gale blow from behind. After a moment, I realized that what I was experiencing was not wind, but rather gravitational shifts.
I then had a gravitational shift that pushed me downwards. I was pinned to the ground and unable to move. And I came up with a rather... Interesting means of trying to get the gravity back to normal. I held my hands behind my back and manifested a headset microphone. I put it onto my head and asked whoever was on the other end to please lower the gravity to 10% of what it was.
For a moment, I was able to stagger to my feet. But another wave of gravity slammed me back into the pavement. This actually felt somewhat painful. I felt as though I was being dragged backwards along the pavement. Also, with all this going on, it was difficult to hang on to the idea of lucidity.
I went on the headset again, and asked whoever was there to please make the gravity 1% of what it was. One more, I was able to get to my feet for a second. Then a gravity wave flew past me and tore the headset off of my head. It flew in front of me then looped around behind my head and flew off into the sky.
The gravity slammed me back into the ground. I was laying on my back now, looking up. I saw there was a dark patch in the sky where the moon was supposed to be, but it (now this is the strange part.)
The moon looked as though it had been carved into shapes. I can recall the shape very clearly, there were three feline forms, though they looked to be standing on their back legs. They all had long hair as if they were human girls and had taken fighting poses. I could tell it had a sort of anime styling to the outline.
"Okay, the moon has three cats."
Gravity returned to normal and the design in the sky faded. I got the feeling that whatever had shifted gravity like that was trying to get that message across. Now they are done, and I am free to experience my dream as I wish.
I walk back up the street I came about two houses, then make a right down another street. I am stabilizing as I go, paying attention to how my feet feel as they hit the sidewalk. Am I wearing shoes? socks? I can't recall now.
I can't help but feel that I am alone, there are no other dream characters. Just as I do, I hear a man's voice.
      "Hey! Hey you!"
About two houses away, a man is stepping outside. Then, across the street, another two houses away a group of three kids come outside, along with what looks like their nanny.
I continue walking and go past the man. I look at him and think "he's a dream character, just a fragment of my own subconscious, not a real person." And after I thought that to myself, I got really really lucid. I thought about the "5 layers of a lucid dream and thought about going to layer 4. Maybe I'm already at layer 4, I just haven't made any changes yet.
"You guys are dream characters and I am your dreamer!"
The man and the nanny gave me these really kind looks and they nodded. The kids jumped up and down with excitement. They ran over to me and asked me if I wanted to play [some game].
"No, you know what, I have a better idea!"
The kids look a little confused.
"I am going to teach you guys how to fly."
      The kids look very confused.
I kneel down on their level.
"You need to focus the energy in your own body, your chi."
I demonstrate by doing my old flying method (I guess that's not fire, but chi.) and lift off, thrusting up with these cyan-ish flames. I start to slowly rise up above them, and the kids follow. The three kids instantly seem to get it, one kid had green flames, another orange, and another, purple. I note that the sun has set and it is now nighttime. A fourth kid comes outside and asks if he can fly with us.
      "Sure, just focus your chi!"
He rockets up on red flames and joins us. We are not flying very high or very fast, but that matters not. This is still the most fun I've had in a lucid dream, ever! The colors of everyone's different chi against the night were just beautiful.
I sense that I am losing the dream. I look to the cluster of first-time fliers. For a moment, I thought that they were other dreamers and not dream characters.
      "Now, look, I'll be back."
I lose the dream. I am in a black void for a second and see myself. I then wake up.

Well that's it, no TOTM this month. God dang it. Who cares, teaching dream characters to fly is much more fun than asking them what they are doing different this year anyway.

So that's it, got in my 8 LDs. Can't wait for February's TOTMs. I also thought of a good one on my own. I want to try and listen to music in a dream and see what it sounds like.

    10. Okay... New Years Resolution... (LD #75)

by , 01-29-2014 at 09:26 PM (Lucid Time!)
I am in my neighborhood with S and A. There is some kind of war going on and we know that our area of the country is not very well defended, and that whoever we are at war with is killing civilians, so there is a good chance that if we see any enemy soldiers, they will try and kill us.
I see an enemy plane fly over the subdivision, but it looks like its been shot down, and going to crash in the woods behind our sub. Ok, good. It stops right before hitting the ground and is able to hover about three stories above the ground. There is a large turret with a machine gun on under the plane, and the plane is going down the street very slowly, systematically shooting into every house killing the people inside.
Are there any weapons around? No. Are there any cars? Can we try and drive away? No. Well, I think to myself that my house has an in ground basement. Maybe if we hide in the bathroom (that is pretty deep into the ground) the enemy plane won't get to us.
But the enemy plane breaks its systematic route and flies straight over, following and targeting my friends and I directly. I just think to run, but of course when you try to run from something like this in a dream, you run at like 0.000000000001 miles/hour. No, I was running a pretty decent speed, but I still felt sluggish. I don't hear my friends but I know they're right behind me. I hear two bursts fire from the gun. Okay, they're dead. I'm trying to head down the hill behind my house, but I get shot in the back and wake up.

After waking up, I thought about how with a dream like that, it would have been so easy to attain lucidity. I get a glass of water and go back to bed.

I am in this post-apocalyptic type world. There are a number of partially destroyed buildings all around with a large crevasse running through the middle of town. The crevasse is filled with a cloud of pale orange gas that is supposedly poisonous.
I hear someone scream, and see that a girl is falling into the crevasse, so I obviously want to go and rescue her. So I jump into the canyon after her. (Yeah, real bright idea.) We actually jumped/fell from opposite sides and the canyon was quite wide.
But I was partially lucid, and I ignited flames out of my hands that allowed me to rocket down and catch up with her. But this wasn't like my fireball flying technique from before where there are little flames. I was blasting out an inferno behind me.
So of course, I catch her and lift her out of the canyon. I switch the flames to come out of my feet and one hand. I am carrying this girl by the back of her shirt collar with one hand. (Probably not the best way to carry anyone, but too late to change that now.) I didn't even know who I was saving. Could've been my guide, could've just been just some random person. (And if it was my guide, Then it's safe to assume it was some kind of test. I am getting sick of these stupid tests already.)
Well I am pulling up to the edge of the canyon ready to deposit her on the ledge and I get fully lucid.

      "Another Lucid Dream! Finally!"
I land and let her down. I take a moment to tell myself that I am dreaming and rub my hands together stabilizing the dream some. And this time I actually recall my dream goal correctly, to ask a dream character for there new years' resolution.
Now whoever I had saved was wearing a big fur coat and when I deposited her on the ground, she just stayed laying down. I went over and flipped up the hood of the coat to see that whoever this was had up'n vanished. I got confused for a moment, and thought I sensed a presence of someone on top of one of the burnt-out buildings. I looked, but there was just a blurry outline of someone who had been there that quickly faded into the yellow sky.

The dream's clarity dropped like a brick and I lost lucidity. I picked out some dream character, a tall male wearing a jester hat and for some reason identified him as some agent of evil working for a bad guy. (I don't know why.) And I said out loud.
"Oh, great, not another one of his minions!"
The dream scene changed from the destroyed city to my neighborhood. The jester hat guy started trying to shoot me with a blow dart tube. I began running (much faster than I could run from the hovering airplane thing) on a sidewalk with hopes of losing him. I was heading toward the old middle school in my sub, planning to run a route that would confuse my assailant.
I managed to run for quite some time. The blow dart tube was not only ranged but deadly accurate. I would listen for the sound of him blowing, and a moment later duck or move my body in some way and avoid the dart. I managed to avoid getting hit until I got into the woods.
Just when I thought I was going to get away from this guy, I noticed that that the path in the forest was converted into an obstacle course. I tried to run it, but ended up tripping and breaking my ankle. The guy caught up to me, looked at me laying on the ground for a moment, then stomped on my head, causing me to wake up.

    11. Manifesting toy weapons (Lucid dream #73,#74)

by , 01-21-2014 at 12:06 PM (Lucid Time!)
I am at my friend K's house and having a nerf gun war with her and her brother when I randomly get lucid.
I (forget to stabilize) and try to recall what my dream goal is. (My dream goal is to complete one of the TOTM). But I falsely recall my dream goal and it is to manifest a weapon. (How the heck do you do that?!)

The house immediately becomes abandoned and quiet. I am the only one here, but I can sense another presence has taken over. One that feels friendly, and strangely feels like it is the TV, phone, and game console. It may have been some kind of artificially intelligent computer program entering the technology around the house. One more note, if I were to look out the windows it looks to be nighttime.
So anyways, I have forgotten my dream goal and decide to try and manifest a weapon. I hold both my hands behind my back and say "Setweapon: Handgun" (I like how it sounds almost like computer syntax.) I pull my hands out and in my left hand is a small plastic handgun that fires a plastic dart. (Remember we had been having a nerf war) But I didn't care, I wasn't trying to do anything other than manifest the weapon, so a toy is fine.
I swap it into my right hand, and I begin shooting the plastic gun to find out that it was reasonably accurate. I later held my hands behind my back and said the same thing again "Setweapon: Handgun" It was the exact same weapon. (Heck yeah, dual weild!)
But with two guns I didn't have a free hand to reload so I put both hands behind my back and simply said "Reload". I pull them back around and they are both reloaded. I fire them again, and now I am getting really excited and start taking pot shots at paintings and things around the room. I repeat the reload command about half a dozen times, making quite a mess with darts in the process.

DEILD/FA... or something. Point is, the dream sorta glitched.

-Skip the first part of this dream new, Kinda personal-

Or maybe it's just so inherently stupid that I just didn't feel like describing it. Did you think of that, subconscious?!

Well I get away from the personal conflict. [This whole dream takes place at K's house once more, but this time it seems like the house is huge, the ceilings are really high and the doors are really wide.
I want to go into the front room and try to manifest a real weapon. I think about the weapon that I got as a Christmas present from those dream characters. But I can't manifest it because I don't know what it's called. I suddenly realize what it is called (god help me how). That weapon I got all those lucid dreams back is called a terminal detonator.
I manage to manifest it, but suddenly sense that I am losing the dream, I can feel my body in bed and have no time to stabilize, so I wake up.

    12. Underground Complex (Lucid Dream #72)

by , 01-17-2014 at 09:17 PM (Lucid Time!)
I recall being on a rather large tropical island where I was inserted with either 20 or 24 other dream characters in random locations. Once more this was a sort of hunger games set up, but that we were allowed to work together and claim more than one victor. But then why were we all fighting? I don't know, dream logic I guess. Also, at this early point I guess I was mildly lucid because I had the sense that there were no repercussions if I died.
I decided to try and find some friends to help me to survive longer, and that the best way to do that would be make my way along the beach. But (atleast on the side of the island where I spawned there was a large cliff (I'd guess maybe fifty feet) with the beach being on the bottom. I couldn't descend the cliff so I made my way through the jungle along the top of the cliff.
I walked for some time, and found myself rather bored. I went off thinking about several subjects in my life. I noticed that the jungle looked somewhat trampled and beaten; there wasn't much undergrowth and there looked to be some trees that had been cut or trimmed to make walking through the jungle easier.
I eventually found that the cliff was getting lower and therefore I was walking downhill toward the beach. When I got to the point where the jungle and the beach merged I found there to be a small bay connected to a river that ran inland to the island. There was an even smaller island on the river, and across the river was a very dense jungle with some huge trees.
It was early dawn by this time (it had been nighttime when the dream began.) and the sun was rising. I heard a whistling noise and looked over my shoulder to see up near the top of the island's mountain a white firework shoot up and explode. This was apparently some kind of indication that the first kill had been scored (for the hunger games setup)
I noticed a small rusted metal ship on the island in the river and decided to investigate it. The hull was rusted through in places and the ship's iron ribs were visible, so it was far from sea worthy. The entire island was overgrown with ferns and grasses.
I made my way down the island (the mini island was long and thin in the river.) to the side more toward the large island. I found a concrete platform with a staircase that ran down under the island. Ever intrepid, I decided to descend into the complex.
      What is YOUR dream sign?-dream-map-1.jpg
Badly drawn map of my route and the area until I went underground.
Anyways, I get into the complex, and open a huge rusty iron door that looks like its a hundred years old. It was also at this point that I began to feel as if there was some presence with me in the room. If felt like the presence was the same as the one that was running the entire game.
There is only one room. I pull one of those light switch chains that hangs from the ceiling and a couple of incandescent lights begrudgingly flicker on. The room is small with cinder-block walls and a large workbench. The workbench has a piece of wood above it with nails into it and all of the nails have tools. There is also a large bin of sheet metal nearby.
I stop and think for a second how cool it would be to craft some armor and weapons for this hunger games setup. I decide to do so, but realize with just the metal, I won't be able to do very much. I also get the feeling that the presence believes that's cheating.
The "presence" proceeds to spawn a stand behind me containing dozens of tiny drawers. Each one has different sizes and shapes of screws, nuts and bolts. Perfect, now I can craft my armor.
I craft armor for both arms as well as a chestpeice of sorts. I may have also done armored shin boots, but I cannot remember. (The time spent crafting sort of skipped) The armor looks clean and professional but has something of a minimalist design, lacking a lot of detail. I don't care.
I realize there is another door that runs deeper into the complex. I open it and find that it looks to be a janitor's closet. There is another door on the opposite side of the closet.
I open it, and I am in what looks to be a clothing store, but in an eerily empty atmosphere. Nobody is here and the lights are flickering. I make my way into the corner of the store, and somewhat randomly become
lucid. (Well I was semi lucid before, but here is where I became properly lucid.)
I decide to make my way back to the surface. I think about my goal of asking a dream character what their new year's resolution is (also known as the Task of the Month for this month.) But first I need to find a dream character. After this, I do a nose pinch reality check just to double check that I am in fact lucid dreaming.
I continue making my way back to the closet that leads to the way back, but am interrupted by waking up.

    13. Much Dream. So Lucid. Such Dreamguide. Wow. (LD #71)

by , 01-10-2014 at 08:46 PM (Lucid Time!)
I was somewhat lucid, and I was practicing my maneuvering skills. I was in third person, but couldn't seem to control my perspective. But no matter, this allowed me to better see what I was doing and where I was.
I was out over the ocean. There were these high tech towers with platforms out on the sides of them, set up in a long row. Supposedly this was some kind of course that was set up for lucid dreamers to practice their abilities. Beyond the towers were a couple of tropical islands about a mile away.
So there, I was just jumping from tower to tower. I was doing very well with... this and sometimes was even able to skip a platform or two and glide past them.
I get to the end of the course, and there is my dream-guide. I go back into first person mode. We sit on the last tower and start talking about... heck I don't recall now. (I woke up and wrote down not enough of the key points about this lucid dream at 2:00am by the light of my toy redstone lamp.) But the important part of our discussion was the part that I remembered. She started talking about teaching me "Jumping the Dream". (Is that the new Jumping the Shark?! I don't know. The dream is trying to make some bad joke here, but I don't get it.) I had two interpretations of that phrase. One was literal. Like what I had been just doing. Jumping in a dream. The other one was that it was shared dreaming, as in you were jumping to other people's dreams.
Okay, I don't remember learning squat about "jumping the dream". So I told her that.
And here's where the dream gets weird. After saying to her, "I don't recall learning this" she... er well she did something and I suddenly recalled two more lucid dreams. They felt like they were from the past two days. And here be the creepy part. When she helped me to remember them, It felt like she was the one who had done something to make me forget them.

Forgotten Lucid #1: was where we had talked about "Jumping the Dream". The only imagery I can recall is sitting with her somewhere discussing just that.

Forgotten Lucid #2: supposedly consisted of some kind of practice for "Jumping the dream" I can't recall any imagery.

Hang on. Am I missing something? So you taught me how to "Jump the dream" whatever the heck that means. You spent three nights now where I was lucid dreaming and for the first two nights you bother explain and teach this stuff to me only to do some dream guide hocus pocus and make me forget the dreams, then on the third night remind me of these other lucid dreams that I may or may not have actually had, and make me think that you taught me about something that I have no idea what it is.

      What the heck?

      Fragment: City Map

Somebody was showing me a map of a city built on a couple of islands. They were in fact showing me two different versions that were a couple decades apart and showing me how the city had grown over the years.

Late For Class,Forgotten PowerPoint,In my Underwear

You know, I've gotten so attuned to the "typical" dreams of being late for class, forgetting homework, and being in those sorts of embarrassing situations, that I was legitimately surprised that I didn't get lucid here.

I was running to get to my social studies class, and the bell rang. It was just down the hall, and the teacher was standing outside the class, he just sort of gave me a scolding look and went into the classroom. For some reason, my walk was real clumsy, and I sort of staggered down the hallway to the classroom.
When I got into the classroom, I noticed that I was hot. I had a jacket on over a hoodie and a t-shirt. I also had on two pairs of pants. I took off both the hoodie and the jacket. I then tried to take off one of the pairs of pants, but accidentally took off both and was in my underwear.
The teacher facepalmed appropriately and everyone in the class was laughing at me.
All of the lights were off and the projector was on (one of those digital projectors that can project a computer screen.) The teacher asked me if I had my PowerPoint ready.
"What PowerPoint?! I don't know what your talking about."
And he tells me that before break he assigned us a big project that we have to make a PowerPoint. He says I can turn it in tomorrow but if I don't I get no points in the gradebook.
The dream ended with me putting my head down onto my desk thinking about how the heck I am supposed to do this project in one night.

      Lucid Dream #70: Good Practice

This was an overall good lucid dream. I liked that it felt more stable than some of my previous lucid dreams.

I feel like I just sort of get "plopped" into my school's gymnasium, and my mind was sort of blank. This was similar to the first time I was lucid dreaming, as I got to see the dream begin. So this might have been as I was entering REM sleep.
The gym was ultimately empty, and it actually seemed different than my schools gymnasium, but it sort of had the feel of my school. I stabilized the dream by rubbing my hands together and decided to try out some dream control.
And let me just say that this dream felt way more vivid and stable than my last few lucid dreams.
I had no real plans, so I just wanted to have fun. I jumped, and managed to go fifteen or twenty feet into the air. But I wanted to go higher, so I focused on the metal support beams in the roof of the gym. From there, I was able to start flying in a very slow controlled way and began soaring around the gym.
A bunch of other dream characters began filtering in, but none of them familiar. There was this one boy who was also able to jump relativily high, but not fly as I was. But he kept on jumping up in-front of me, and I would hit him. It almost seemed like he was doing this on purpose. Each time I hit him, I would sort of have to hold him and lower him back to the ground slowly. I apologized and let him continue. But this was getting annoying. We eventually decided to each stick to our own sides of the gym for our activities.
I eventually stopped flying and grabbed onto one of the metal support beams. There was enough room for me to stand on a horizontal beam and hold onto a vertical beam with one of my hands. Viewing the gymnasium from the roof was a rather odd experience.
There was this floating platform that came into the gym with this girl who was trying to look all attractive for me. But for whatever reason I thought to myself that I didn't want to try sexy things with dream characters right now.
I opened a telepathic communication with her and told her that perhaps in a future lucid dream she could visit me again. But for now, no.
After that, I took off flying again, did one more circle around the gymnasium. As I started to lose the dream, I was taken into a third person view of myself flying. The view was from behind and above me, and I was flying forward, kindof like superman. But I had a long black cape and hood on, and had no way of getting a look at my dreaming self.

Side note: I've been trying to figure out what my "dream self" looks like for some artwork I've been planning on doing. Black cloak and hood is a start.

    15. Theiving Levels 1 and 2, Lucid I can't remebmer

      Lucid fragment.

I know that I had a lucid dream, but I have no idea what happened in it. All I can rember was that is boasted some similarities to my last two lucid dreams... just with the general feel of the dreams.

      Thieving levels 1 and 2

I had been taken by some thieving group that had to steal these ancient relics that were owned by different people. (And of course, they want me to do the dirty work and actually steal each relic.) Each one was with a different person at a different location and each location was going to be more difficult to steal from than the last. I have no idea how many of these there are in total.
Location one felt like my own neighborhood by the design and spacing of the houses and streets. The other thieves gave to me this Bluetooth type headset so that they could communicate with me.
The first house we were going to steal from, we were going to steal from it in broad daylight while the residents were home. (Yea real bright idea, thieves.) To do this, I had to quietly open a side door on their garage and then open a trapdoor on the floor of their garage.
From there, I had to crawl through a dirt ventilation shaft (if that makes any sense) about two stories underground into this dungeon like basement that they had. The basement was filled to the top with boxes of stuff, and was difficult to navigate, but I eventually found the relic that I was looking for. It just looked like a golden cube about two inches on edge with a sort of circuit board pattern to it.
As I was holding it, I paid attention to the activities going on upstairs. I could hear dishes clanking and people talking. I thought that it might be dinnertime in this household.
I crawled back out of the dirt vent and up through the garage out of the house.

The second relic was stored in the barn of a paranoid middle-aged farmer. The farm was actually behind these rows of houses in a different subdivision in a different area. The area had a sort of arid feel to it, as though we were in a hot, dry climate.
The other thieves had a plan that I would look like an innocent jogger who would sneak into his barn, grab the relic, then run away.
I came jogging along the trail that led by his barn. There were a couple of large pastures for cows and horses. The barn itself, well it didn't look like a classic barn being panted red and white. This one was bare wood, and had a low slanted roof.
I took two quick looks in either direction to make sure nobody was coming. Then went off the trail, through one of the cow pastures into the barn. When I got inside, I was met with a surprise, there were cowbells hanging from strings everywhere. Through my headset the other thieves told me that the farmer would hear these if I accidentally hit them.
I make my way through the barn and up to the second level. I find the relic on a pile of hay and get ready to make my way back when I accidentally trip one of the cowbells. I hear the door of the farmhouse open.
      Crap.
I just say screw it and run out to the field, tripping a bunch more cowbells as I get out of the barn. He hasn't seen me yet. I get back to the path and try to pull the whole "harmless jogger" routine to trick the farmer. The thieves explain to me that once I get off his property, I'm safe, and he's not allowed to come after me anymore.
A shogun blast comes from behind and destroys a fencepost. The farmer grabs me. I'm caught, and the farmer takes his relic back.

The dream had two endings somehow.

      Ending #1.
After the farmer caught me he just got really angry and began yelling at me. There wasn't really much else he could do besides scold me for trying to steal his relic.

      Ending #2.
The farmer had some tradition that every time someone tried to steal from him, they would have to fight his three sons. I had to face them in this small coliseum like location made out of scrap wood and metal with dozens of other farmers watching.
I was fighting his sons, mostly kicking them to keep them away.
