"How do they gather the rats up when it's time to go? They place firecrackers up the butts of the rats and if they do not come when called the firecrackers are set off."

Oh my god this is gold

Man oh man!! You may be on to something! I did a version of your SC talking last night (using an approximation of my memory of what you described) and I also looked up Universal Loving Friendliness recitations and found a pdf with a bunch and I had multiple LD's with a short WBTB and without SSILD!! I also felt quite refreshed but that may be partly due to being able to sleep in, but usually I feel rather groggy after sleeping in a bit long. Thank you for sharing!!

Great that you remembered so much of the garden scene!

I can understand what you mean about finding a balance of focus. This is actually something I struggle with IWL sometimes, when I'm trying to be mindful and find myself focusing too much on "being mindful".
The way I use narration in dreams is by choosing interesting things that I'd really like to remember specific details of. I do this especially for TotMs where I need to remember a description or dialogue, but I wouldn't want to do it throughout an entire dream. I do find that narration can help me to notice more details, which can really bring out the vividness of a dream scene, but I also feel like trying to remember all of those details can take away from the experience in the moment. I usually decide in the dream whether I would really value just taking in everything without worrying about how many details I retain, or whether it's something I'd like to recall very specific details of for writing/analysing when I'm awake.
I'd like to think there's a third option that incorporates both, and I suspect WL mindfulness practices would help a lot with finding that balance in dreams, too. Let me know if you make any progress with this - I'd love to have the best of both worlds!

Awesome FM!! I see my prediction starting to materialize..because of your strong dedication to the craft, you will surpass me in lucid dreaming before you know it. A lot of interesting side notes and I featured in a couple of spots!..that black boy with an afro made me think it could be some alter ego of mine too since I saw someone similar when I looked in a mirror in a recent LD, but this was your dream...

I like the SC conversation pre-bed!..I'd like to try something more like that. I plan to see what else I can learn from your side notes!

      Awesome job FM!!!

So many lucids and so much control! How inspiring! I hope one day I can have that many lucid dreams in one night

Yay! Someone else does some non sexual biting! I feel like it is easier to become lucid in the night after a lucid dream, like it is just easier to "remember"

Maybe your lightsaber was almost out of batteries and needed some shaking to get it going.

That sucks that you forgot what happened in the other lucid. I used to feel like "I must have lost lucidity if I forgot the whole thing". Noe I have had times where long groups of memories come back that seem like they were extremely present and I did dream goals and things. So it makes it more sad forgetting.

Heh, yeah, I was so dejected at that point I didn't even try to avoid it. One of those nights where you're actually happy to wake up. But it's nice in retrospect to have something different from the status quo.

Heavy emotional dreams but still I can think of worse ways to go than having 40 gallons of runny chocolate pudding on my head. Possibly classified as a mercy killing.

Well I'm sure getting my "WBTBs" in. Although it's more like "1/2 of a night naps". It'll probably take another week to fully adjust.

polyphasic sounds interesting - is this something you are actually doing for real? Adjusting you sleep patterns etc?

Yes, I need more "Slow Down!" and "Stop!" practice.

You gotta make sure you Slow down when you are flying and raise that awareness up!

Thanks, it was a short moment but it was of amazing clarity. I believe that keeping up the narration for more than just a short moment will result in much longer high-awareness experiences. It had precisely the effect that I had hoped it would: peaking lucidity. I really want to make this a consistent dream behavior.

I do practice "waking narration", but infrequently. I should do it more, that's a good idea! My "mindfulness" is not the pure Buddhist sort: I do try to reflect upon my observations and judge them somewhat, because I have a goal: recognizing the dream state.

I loved reading about your vivid experience!
I notice that effect IWL too when I really decide to pay attention to my surroundings. Things I never noticed suddenly stand out to me, especially in places that I see so often that they kind of become background noise that I ignore.
I know you practice awareness for your daywork - have you thought about practising narration during that to make it easier to remember during dreams? I suppose it might not work so well if you are trying to use a non-labelling mindful approach to awareness, but it might be interesting to test it out.

Then I'm non-lucid and standing with some girl (my choice when lucid?) and I'm handing her some bills from my wallet to pay for some classes which I want (my kids?) to take.
      hehe nice one
