I took a nap a few hours ago as I was tired; this dream is the result of it.

It was light outside, and this light was spilling into the room of this fairly modern house. The room was no more than fifteen by fifteen feet, and there was one square archway in the center of one wall. In the middle of the room was a pale burgundy mat with an intricate pale gold pattern and an old-fashioned dark wooden table with the kind of legs that curl up. The flooring was white marble tile with slightly darker grout; the dark marbling of it was only barely visible so it looked more like basic white tile.

In the left-hand corner of the room, to the left of the archway, was a large potted tree, the dark green leaves amalgamating into somewhat of an egg shape.

Although it didn't happen in the dream, I knew I was following a few cats around the house. I already saw a black one that rolled over and let me pet its belly, but now I was looking for another one. My sister appeared and I asked her, "where's the brown and white cat?"

She pointed behind the tree, and there was the cat, lying down, half-hidden behind it. My sister disappeared and I knelt down to have a closer look. The cat curled around the pot a bit to get closer to me. It was white with a dark brown back, but its most striking feature was smaller dots of orange all over where the brown and white colors met. It looked at me with intent.

I reached out to pet it, but I stopped advancing because its eyes had widened and its ears flattened. Its mouth opened but nothing came out. In a few moments, it returned to normal so I reached out even more, slower this time. I touched its head and it made an evil "mrrrrow..." noise as if to warn me to get my hand off. I took my hand off and as soon as I did that it got up, leaning towards me but not taking any steps. I lunged out slightly towards it as if to say "I'm the boss", towering over it, and it recoiled by flattening itself to the ground and wearing the cutest expression.
