      Shared Dreaming - Student Application

For those of you who are interested in WakingNomad or Raven Knight's shared dreaming course, please answer all of the following questions, below.

      1) Tells us about yourself.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.

Edit (delete this message): As of right now, this is a temporary representation of the application. Don't worry, the questions are the same, but we are currently setting it up to make it easier for both you and professors.

      1) Ya I'm MadMonkey. Ive been lucid dreaming since I think May. I was going to wait a couple more weeks before I started experimenting with shared dreaming but I can miss the chance to take this class with the best shared dreamer in the world. I am in a bit of a lucid dry spell because of school and adjusting my sleep cycle but I think its prety much over.

      2) I want to start learning about shared dreaming and hope by the end of the class to have a better idea of weather It is real or not and if it is how it works. Also I bet I can gain power with a few dream alies.

      3) I plan on it.

      4) 5 I don't know weather It is real or not and the only way to have an idea is to experience it for yourself. I'm not saying I don't belive in shared dreaming I just have no way of proving it to myself without having one.

      5) Not as far as I know. lol

      1) Tells us about yourself.

I'm WakataDreamer... I used to be active, had lots of lucids, fell out of practice and didn't lucid at all for the longest time -- now I'm back. Getting back into it. Expecting regular lucids to recommence soon. Oh and I already have a shared dreaming partner -- username Adnai. I've asked her to apply here as well.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?

I want to have regular shared lucids, develop my dream control through interactions with other dreamers as opposed to less imaginative DCs, and see some of the neat, crazy stuff that Nomad talks about, like sentient beings that inhabit the dream plane (Outer World?)... I want to learn about this whole other world out there that most people don't even know about. Basicly, learn more, and experience more. Learn through experience. Yeah, that sums it up nicely.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)

      Yes. I already do.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?

      9.

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.

      No. I want to.

      1) Tells us about yourself.

My name is Adnai, I am currently 17 years of age. I will be turning 18 years of age in just a few short days. I've taken an interest in dreaming, and have had one shared dream to date. A possible second, but the other person could not be confirmed. I've taken lengths to try and teach myself to beecome lucid, so I'm hoping this class would be able to help with my endeavors. Dreams are just so much fun - I would love to be able to share them with another person.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?

The ability to share dreams fluently and become lucid more easily. Not only that, but also begin to pick apart my own mind. The keys to all things lie in the mind, and I believe dreams are the best way to go about unlocking all of those doors.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)

Yes! I normally try and log my DJ every day I have a dream. Sometimes I have a dream but I forget it because I'm not able to write it down. Over the course of this class I'll be sleeping with a journal and a pen by my bedside so I can log dreams right as I wake up, and then put them online in my DJ. This is just in case I ever lose the electronic version.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?

      10. I've experienced one myself, after all. They are very real.

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.

Aquanina. I was in my dream, instantly lucid, in a white void. I began to play around. I wanted wings, so I got wings on my backside. I wanted trees, a clearing, snow, so I created all these things. Then she was there in my dream. We held a short conversation - though I don't remember most of it - but I was scared, because I hadn't quite invited her in. She just kind of popped in there. Though it was my fault for leaving myself open. While it was a very short shared dream, it was one nonetheless. xD
I'm the drug you crave on sleepless nights, the addiction that rips you apart on the inside - the poison that you would pay millions to possess. Yet when you finally have me, I'll wrap you in silky lies and take you to hell with me, baby.

1] I'm Andrew, and I find the idea of shared dreaming insanely interesting. I find dreams very interesting. I find science very interesting. I love psychology and learning what makes people tick. I guess that's why I like lucid dreaming, to figure out more about myself.
2] I want to learn to share dreams with someone, but someone close. So I guess I'd like to learn the ability, but really delve into it with someone close to me.
      3] I already do.
      4] 8
      5] nope.

      1) Tells us about yourself.

I'm Zukin, I've been doing LDing for 6 years. I'm shy online, I won't talk much unless you know me. I'm interested in a lot of things, almost everything interests me. Obviously dreaming is one of my more passionate areas of interest, and I enjoy sharing my dreams with the community (as in posting them, lol).

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?

I would like to learn to improve my ability to shared dream, I would like to learn more about myself in the process, and spread the word.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)

      Yes

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?

      10

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.

Many times. It's happening more frequently than it used to. My first shared dream was with a friend I knew online, many years back. In his dream, he was in a city that was on fire. He was standing on top of a tall building, watching people fight a war with swords and shields below him. In my dream, I was standing under a shed that had been partially blown apart. I was in a city and everything was on fire. I was hiding with a shield, trying to deflect arrows and fireballs that were being cast at me from the war in the city.

      1) Tell us about yourself.

My name is Josh (but Nephanim works, too). I'm twenty years old. I'm an electrical and computer engineering student. When I was much younger, I wondered why people dream - what purpose dreams served. After learning about lucid dreaming approximately six years ago, I've engaged in intermittent practice to induce lucid dreams. I've had a fair bit of success with it in the past, but I'm always looking to improve that... Shared dreaming has been a more recent endeavor. I'm currently pursuing a long-term goal to extend dreamtime during a shared lucid dream. I'm also an eager student, and I can commit to the effort required for the class. I expect to attend each class - barring preexisting schedule conflicts with my university courses.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?

Through this course, I hope to increase the frequency of my shared dreams. The added focus on dreaming may also increase the frequency of my lucid dreams. By delving further into shared dreaming, I hope to better understand the purpose behind dreams.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)

Absolutely. My recall is (usually) very good.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10?

      10. I have experienced it on multiple occasions.

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.

When I was a child, I woke up one morning to learn that my sister and my dad had a dream similar to mine. We all witnessed a tornado ravaging our hometown from different perspectives. In my sister's dream, my dad's car was gone, and I was missing. My dad's dream involved parking his car under an overpass to wait out the storm. In my dream, I was in a ditch on the other side of town.

A year or two ago, I became lucid in a dream and decided to fly up to the ceiling of the large room I was in. I grabbed my girlfriend's hand in the dream and carried her up with me. In her dream, we were in a room with a much lower ceiling, but as I took her hand, we floated up through the ceiling.

Recently, I had a dream in which my girlfriend was pulled over by a police officer. She pulled into a parking lot. When the officer walked up to her car, she ignored him. Following this, she drove away. The cop chased us on foot for a while, but we weren't worried because we thought it would be too dark for him to read her license plate. My girlfriend dropped me off at my school later in the dream. In her account, she pulled into a parking lot after seeing police lights flashing in her mirrors. She ignored the police officer. When she drove away, she decided it would be alright since it was so dark outside; he wouldn't be able to read her license plate. She kicked me out of the car later in the dream and went to pick up pizza. In both dreams, I was sitting on the passenger side of the back seat - though I usually sit in the front with her in waking life! In my dream, Nicole wasn't listening to me, but in hers, I wasn't listening to her.

Hopefully, participating in this class will yield even more significant shared dreams and at a higher rate. I look forward to the opportunity!

      1) Tells us about yourself.
I am Tera, I am 17, 18 in about two weeks. My boyfriend is Nephanim ^ as seen above. We have been together 5 years, and are both avid dreamers. Or at least, we try our best to be. I am not yet in control of my lucidity.
I am kind of a nerd. I love anime, video games and music. I also love, love, love Psychology, which is one of the reasons I love dreaming and learning about them so much! I am a friendly person, and take time to get to know people who want to know me as well.
I know you don't want my life story, so honestly, if you need to know more, It can be added, but if anyone wants to know more, they can message me.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?
I hope to obtain control of my lucidity and levels of it in my dreams, in order to be able to sync with others, to share those dreams.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)
      Yes, I already have one!

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?
      10

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.
Yes I have. As Nephanim stated above we have had about four, non lucid shared dreams.

In my dream, I was trying to get pizza. I remember being in an area not familiar to me, and just continued to drive. Eventually I was pulled over by a cop, seeing the blue and red lights. I decided I wanted pizza more [I guess] and just went on my way! I knew the cop wouldn’t find me, because it was dark out.I drove off and started talking to Nephanim. He wasn’t responding, and I turned to the back seat and found him there. I kept talking to him, and there was still no response. By this point in time, I decided to kick him out because I was angry.

      1) Tells us about yourself.

My name is Colten, and well, it would seem wierd to say this on any other site but this one, I love dreaming. It is really my interest and it actually started when I read a little forum about a WILD. I thought it was the coolest thing ever, and I've been researching dreams and sleep ever since.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?
Put simply, I want knowledge. If anything, I will learn something and that's what really matters to me.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)
With a little motivational help, I can commit.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?

      8
I'm pretty sure it is real, it seems real, I like the idea of it. But I've never experienced it directly.

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.
      Maybe one day.

      1) Tells us about yourself.

There's not much to say really. As far as dreams go, when I go lucid I'm a master at control. There isn't anything I can't do. Unfortunately when it comes to clarity, it isn't much different than a normal dream. I feel like my concious and subconscious are almost one and on several occasions (also due to my erratic sleep schedule) I can tell if I'm awake or dreaming IRL. Oh yeah, and I'm pretty much nocturnal.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?

I'm an extreme sceptic and sincerely hope that I'm wrong about the fallaciousness of shared dreaming. If it is possible, which I hope it is, maybe it would mean just a little more hope that there really is more out there than we can comprehend.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)

Obviously I am already. Why work on shared dreaming if you can't bother working on lucid? Sometimes an entry is as much as a couple of words I remember or an object.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?

Let's say 2. I can't say 1 because I can't prove it to be wrong. I wish I'm wrong though; it takes quite a bit to convince me I must say.

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.

Not that I know of. Sometimes I do crazy or embarrassing stuff in my dreams and hope the people I know don't actually see it if they're there.
But, I mean, wouldn't it just be so AMESOME!

      1) Hey I am mikeac. I have been lucid dreaming since the beginning of August. I am an active student, but can make time for anything and I'm willing to try something new.

      2) I want to see if shared dreaming is possible, and practice it while I am building lucidity. I also think of shared dreaming as an opportunity to learn from other lucid dreamers, and have fun with other people.

      3) I can be committed to writing in my PERSONAL DJ, but I may not be as willing to copy all that into the online DJ. But I will do my best.

      4) 10. I believe everyone is connected somehow, whether on the dream plane, astral plane, internet plane, and Earth's surface somehow.

      5) I have never shared dreams with someone. But I want to.

      1) Tells us about yourself.
I'm Gamecheater. I came to dreamviews after searching for something that happened to me but I couldnt explain (HI) and google led me to dreamviews.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?
I want to be able to have lucid dreams at least 3 times a week, and share dreams with other people in those dreams.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)
      Yes. Easily.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?
      8. I strongly believe it is possible, but I haven't done it yet.

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.
Nope. It would be awesome though.

      1) Hey im Jason. I live in New Zealand and am currently studying film. Iv been LDing since January and cant get enough of it!

      2) I want to increase the level of lucidity in my dreams. I realy want to explore outside of my own mind. Hopefully by the end of the course I am able to share dreams with people easily.

      3) I ALWAYS post LDs in my dream journal and often most dreams if they are interesting but I usualy dont post fragments, there usualy too hard to descibe. But if it is important for this then I can post everything

      4) 10!

      5) I had a shared dream with my flatmate a few months ago. It was really trippy when he started descibing a dream that I had the last night. We were both filling in small details about the dream which all matched up. I wasnt lucid though and he was which sucked! He tried to get me to become lucid but I ignored him.

      1) Tells us about yourself.

I am part of the Skype conversation that Raven invited to quite some time ago. Been into LDing for awhile now, nearly a year. Not made much progress but I am starting from square one.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?

More frequent SD's and overall better lucidity.
      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)

I have honestly not been as good recently, but I will be making more of an effort from now on.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?

      11

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.

At least as far as I remember, once vaguely with Raven.

      1) Tells us about yourself.
I am a 17 year old college student. I have always had natural lucid dreams and have always been interested in the concept of controlled dreaming. Ever since i heard of shared dreaming its been my primary goal in dreams.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?
At minimum 5 shared dreams over a years time.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)
Yes, i do basically every day with the exception of being at a friends house, or at my dads sometimes.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?
I think about an 8. I'm not 100% but the idea is too good to not believe in.

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it
Never. I've tried many times though.

      1) Tells us about yourself.
I'll tells you everything you needs to know. You can call me Shirani, I'm 15 years old, I started getting into lucid dreaming around 12, quite after a month or two, and I came back about the time I joined DV, a few months ago. I would say dreaming, and dreaming related situations, tend to come very easily with me, and also, I have a very open mind, imo.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?
Mostly, my goals are more of recall than anything else, as I know that with good recall will come lucidity, and even if I am not lucid, it is still enjoyable (as hell). Obviously though, the main reason I'm here is to learn shared dreaming from some of the most experienced people around. Hopefully there aren't too many Inception-esque people that are gonna leave after the very first 2 weeks. But, in addition to enjoyment, dreaming, and especially shared dreaming, can really open up my views, and learn how the world works (or how it doesn't).

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)
Definitely, I haven't been lately because of school starting back up, but I can wake up a bit earlier and write during the bus ride. If you want me to transcribe it online, maybe, well see. I wouldn't guarantee daily updates.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?
      9.

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.
My dad, I only remembered a part of the dream, where I showed him I could break glass mentally, to prove anything was possible, he tried himself, but didn't really like it, I later learned this was because he doesn't like crushed glass. Whoops. But yeah, he confirmed it and told me some other things we may or may not have done in the dream, such as smoking bud, having sex with ppl, and falling off a building. It's in my DJ.

Is this really an "application", or an entrance form? Is anyone getting turned down?

      1) Tells us about yourself.

Well, where to begin. My name is Sydney. I am 14 years old. I hope I'm not the youngest here I've been on DV for about 3 months now. Been on and off with different techniques, but WILDing is what I have my mind most set on. I love lucid dreaming, I've had 6 so far. They haven't been very realistic though.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?

I want to be able to, well, have a shared dream with someone. I want to see my friends on DV in the flesh I guess. I think it would be cool to actually be by their side, have a dream battle with them, etc. But overall I just want to have a lot of fun with it.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)

Ah, well.. I'm not that good at writing my dreams down it seems :/ I usually don't write down the little bits and peices here and there.. but if its a vivid fragment, I'll write that down. Sometimes if a vivid dream I had is too long, out of laziness I'll just write down the keywords and type it on the online DJ later.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?

      10

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.

Not that I know of. I might have though, I just probably didn't realize it.

      1) Tells us about yourself.

Hi, I'm Samael. I'm 21 years old, live in Canada, and tend to move to a new city every six months. I'm getting ready to move right now, so I might have trouble keeping up with the class. I'm willing to give it a try, though.

      2) What do you want to get out of this class?

I like stories, and I'm fascinated by the ones that we create in our dreams. As soon as you throw in a few extra dreamers, things are bound to get interesting.

I'm a moderate skeptic with an open mind. I haven't seen anything that has allowed me to definitively prove shared dreaming to myself, but I am absolutely open to the experience.

      3) Can you commit to writing in your DJ every day? (Even if it's just your recall attempt.)

See above. I'll do my best, but it's kind of an atrocious month for me.

      4) How much do you believe in the possibility of shared dreaming on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 is I don't believe. 10 is I know it's real)?

      Five?

The question mark is very important.

      5) Have you shared a dream with someone? If so, tell us about it.

Short answer: no. Long answer: I've had a few dreams involving other members of the forum, and read a few DJs involving myself. Nothing has matched up yet.

I say this with the best intentions: it doesn't matter so much, to me, whether shared dreaming is a "valid", scientifically substantiated phenomenon. The draw, for me, is that we're all in this together, and that's awesome.

      Am I signed up now?

And I'm posting my profile on the RPG soon, really.

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.
