    1. Harry Potter and the Wizard Hospital (plus fragments)

12-31-2012 -- [Three dreams from the last day of the year, even if in kind of limited format. Was sleeping poorly, edge of sick, hints of sleep apnea, and waking far too frequently.] I seem to be reading a message forum set up for a childrens' book author, who slowly turns out to be Bonnie M. The forum seems much more like a Bravenet-style forum or a Prodigy or Genie-style pre-web service, and I haven't checked in for a very long time.

There is a lengthy, involved discussion on the forum, itself, and updates needed but not made, and wondering if they will ever be fixed. This leads to another discussion about rumors of problems between the author (Bonnie) and the webmaster that might have to be resolved before any fix could occur. One of the people on the forum turns out to be one of Bonnie's grandchildren, who says she'll ask her Baba what the issue is. I'm worried about what she might say, since I am the one who designed and installed the website.

I accidentally post a reply on my old account, which I really didn't want to do, for fear it might cause problems. I quickly go back and delete the message, but somebody has already replied to it, and it leads to another discussion about whether I came back, or whether somebody new has been hired on to update the site. And the debate continues.

[In real life, I did design the web site, but she was a clown, not a childrens author, and the web site had no need for a forum, so I did not include one. And since I designed it, and had a bit of a falling out with her, somebody else has come in and done some limited further work on the site.]

12-31-2012 -- [Kind of a continuation of the previous dream, but I know I woke up and tried to fix the dream in my head before I dropped off into sleep again.] I am still dealing with the computer forum, and problems related to it, and my accidental post, but now it is more a forum about/for Harry Potter and/or Harry Potter fan-fiction, with hints of Runescape's Player Owned Ports thrown in. (As has been the case with many of my dreams, lately.)

Messages seem to be kind of color-coded (like the POP characters), but they refer to three factions within Hogwarts that are making plans for me. I am Harry Potter, of course, and myself, Minerva and Albus are all making plans for me, for what I should be doing, and where my life should be going. I prefer my plans, strangely enough. Snape hates me, but is honest enough to admit that my plans seem to be both the most realistic, and the most reasonable.

The forum software has a strange display system that kind of flow-charts the messages, and has them in multiple columns all over the screen, almost like some sort of out-of-control rabid shoutbox. I have made a post trying to deal with all this, and urging for my own plans for my life, and the system has displayed them in a box of their own on the far right top of the screen. The message ties in to the previous discussion, but branches off in a new direction, so probably should be a new message, and I planned to post it with a new account, but it accidentally came out under my old name. I at least manage to go back and change the name on it, though it still remains in the same place on the screen.

12-31-2012 -- [Another fragmented bit from the same night, but a little more active and involved.] I'm at the Hickory house in the front yard, playing some sort of small-scale live-action version of Risk, with hints of a game behind the game ... layers upon layers. There is a real feeling of wrong and menace in the air, like something evil is going on. I want to go inside and be safe, but the evil seems to be concentrated around the front door, and going through it might be extremely dangerous.

It kind of feels somewhat like something evil but invisible is trying to attack me from behind, except I can just barely kind of sense it. I grab at something, and come away with a magic wand, and holding that wand kind of grants me better vision for what I am trying to see. It's almost like a wand-using dementor that had been invisible to me, but now I can kind of see it, almost as a sort of black aura.

I can't go through the front door, but mom's bedroom window is open just a couple of inches, and I am thinking if I can force it open a little further, I can climb in the house through it. There is still a sense of evil around and even in the house, but not as great as what is blocking the front door. I manage to force the window, and climb inside. As I am soon heading down the hall toward the living room area, I sense more figures which I can't really see, except as a light trace of aura.

It seems my house and the magic world kind of overlap. They kind of occupy the same physical space, but on different planes of existence. I just can't usually see or sense the other plane. With the dementor, though, the evil was heavy enough to sense, and once I'd taken it's wand, I could sense more. There are a couple of witches in the hall with me, and it seems they can always sense or see our world, but they are extremely surprised that I can suddenly sense theirs, and have a wand.

Minerva and Tonks are the witches in the hall, I think, and Minerva is thinking about obliviating me and taking the wand away, but I am strongly against this! This is my house, dang it! I start to use what limited powers I have with the wand as a focus. I don't know any spells, but I just say what I want in English and apply my will, and have some success. "Light!" I get a small, not terribly impressive Lumos. "See!" That works better. Everything starts to come into focus, and I can see more of the witches than just their auras.

It seems that the space my house shares in the wizards' world is a magical hospital. The black doctor from the Fawlty Tower episode The Germans is the main doctor here, but he has been attacked with some kind of spell that has cost him his memory. His patients really need help, but he doesn't know which ones are his, any more. Tonks is helping him get around, leading him to see the patients and see if he recognizes any. He doesn't. But when he is led to one of the few that they know is his patient, he is able to help the man.

I use the wand I stole and my will, and cause a light pink aura to appear around all of his patients, so we can figure out which ones are his, and lead him to them. As he approaches each one, more of his memory returns with each one, and he is able to heal each one, so I am saving lives with my stolen wand, and buying myself good will among the magic users.

Suddenly I find myself in a courthouse I can largely remember from previous dreams, relating to getting into trouble while driving. I am not in any trouble this time, and am just filing some papers connected to my license or something. I have two things to do here, but I remember from past trips getting one thing done, and then being told I didn't have to wait in line to get the second thing done, because the person I needed to see next could see when I finished the first thing.

I am hoping for the same courtesy this time, but they have rearranged the courthouse, and the second counter is no longer in sight of the first one, so I have to walk past several other counters to reach the one I need. When I reach the right counter, two sides away, I am still called right up, but as I am passing through the line, I find that Dave D. (a childhood friend) is here, as well, and is now with me on this errand. His father, Don, is also here, and is calling to us and acting silly, which is something I have never seen him do before. Weird and unconnected to the rest of the dream.
