    1. One World Ends, Another Begins

      by , 02-17-2017 at 08:54 AM (Letaali's Dream Journal)
I was not myself, I was a father with dark curly hair. My wife and two kids, daughter and son, had dark curly hair too. I had false memories, a lot of them. The world I was in ended. Apocalyptic event that wiped out almost everything. Before it happened, we escaped into another reality. A world with magical creatures and dangers that were all new to us. It wasn't a world were my family would be safe, so I tried to find my way back to a portal.

To get back we needed a boat. We were in a flooded city. Like Manhattan with 10 meters of water on the streets. Frog-like men lived here. The surface was covered with water lilies and other such plants. After years of trying to survive there, I managed to put together a makeshift boat and led my family through a tunnel that I recall was the way to a portal. Several rapids and waterfalls later we passed through a gate leading out of this world.

When I saw the smooth, green ground, hills in the distance and a mountain with a castle on top, more false memories came back to me. This used to be just a flat green surface, an artificial world with nothing in it. A pocket dimension that humans built. It was created as a safe haven for us, when the world was destroyed. Now it looked somewhat complete. I led my family to a small house nearby and we met a woman. She kindly let us stay in her home. Some food was prepared, beds made and my wife chatted with the lady. I kept asking what year it was, because clearly we had been gone a long time, since this world was now complete. She didn't tell me. I searched the house, the food items for best before dates etc. I found nothing.

Sad and frustrated, I wanted answers. What happened to the survivors? What sort of state was the world in? I headed towards the door. Her front door didn't open into the pocket universe anymore, it led to the old world. It was night and a destroyed city opened up in front of me. Piles of rubble and monsters wandering around. The lady followed me outside and offered to guide me, if I insisted on exploring. She told me to stay away from the Gravity Wheels: big wheels rolling around on their own, made of human-like flesh.

Another type of monster was in our path. Very Rick and Morty -style appearance: ugly, slug-like, dirty blue and spits green acid. I watched how one of them spit acid on another poor explorer and he melted instantly. The lady showed me how the monsters shrunk when you scared them. She ran at one yelling and the monster shrunk to the size of a cat. It was harmless like that. While running past them, I failed to scare one and I got sprayed with acid. I waited for it to melt me, but I was fine for some reason.

We went into a tunnel and found a couple teenage girls doing drugs. I asked what year it was. One of them smiled and said "It's...six?" like it was obvious. "Six years after the end?" "Yeah." Alright. I was happy with that answer.

This has been a recurring theme in my dreams: World ends and I'm forced to move on, survive and find my place in the world again. I actually really enjoy dreams like this, even when they are sad.
    2. Longer Vivid Dreams still Non-Lucid

      Non Lucid:
My dreams have become more vivid but not a full on lucid dream yet...
Though, my dreams were rather graphic last night, violent in ways and sexual...I usually don't have those kind of dreams so I wonder if my stress and eating Indian food last night effected my dreams.

      First Dream:
(I don't remember the beginning, I know there was a good section that I'm leaving out and I'm sad I couldn't remember it). I remember being in my parent's house/house I grew up in. I was in the basement in the laundry room. There was a bedroom setup in the room, which I noticed was odd. I went upstairs to talk to my parent's about it and they mentioned that they have hired two guys to help with (I don't remember what the task was). My parent's asked me to greet them and help them get settled in. I went downstairs and met the first guy. He was young, and had dark hair and was tall. He was strong but thin. ( I realized he looks like one of the patients I took care of a few weeks ago). He had tattoo sleeves on both arms. He was friendly and quiet. I was nervous around him but then again, I'm always nervous around guys. I wasn't attracted to him, plus I'm married and in my dream I knew that. I was helping him get his bed made and letting him know where everything was in the house. He said he didn't need anything else and I could sense that we had this tension between us. I was about to leave but for some reason I told myself in my head that in my dreams I always leave and never kiss the guys...(strange because I was not lucid, yet I knew I was dreaming). I suddenly walked up to him fast and kissed him and let's just say that led to some bedtime...

So then I didn't feel guilty at all in my dream for cheating on my husband. (On and off in the dream I realized I had a husband, other times I didn't. It was like I was in college again, or high school). I then went to the bedroom upstairs and suddenly started to get down with the other guy we hired who was blonde...(I am not like this at all, but geeze dream me was in the mood). So I went to the bathroom near my parent's bedroom to clean up. I was about to go pee when my mom walked in and looked at me funny. She instantly said, "It smells like sex in here." I instantly told her I didn't know what she was talking about. She accused me of cheating on Dane and we got into this whole huge argument. It got pretty brutal and I was fuming. It woke me up.

      Dream 2:
This was a violent dream and I can't remember much of it. I didn't have time to write everything down this morning because I was late for my class for work...boo.
I remember something with a basement or dungeon with people with decapitated body parts and blood everywhere. People were screaming and were half melted. I remember someone dragging their body across the ground and their legs were cut off. I think it freaked me out so I woke up again.

Dream 3: I was camping or outdoors with my family. This time I wasn't married but with my ex from high school, Jeremy. The sky was cloudy, almost storm like. I was running in the open filed and I distinctly remember feeling the cold wet grass under my bare feet. I remember thinking to myself it felt soothing. Suddenly I was at a computer looking up Jeremy's location. A website showed that he was deployed to the "Northern Territory" (this has to be from watching The Game of Thrones). Then it showed a picture of him high up in a tree in a forested area. I remember thinking to myself, "Iraq doesn't have a forest with trees..." but I didn't explore more on that. I wrote an email to him saying that I missed him and that he needed to be home soon. Suddenly I'm on a horse riding towards this private school and then it becomes more like a movie, (this is when I'm not physically there but more like watching a scene). I see Jeremy in this long light red gown/uniform with this girl with long blonde hair wearing the same thing. (Think wizard wear). They are deep in conversation and I could see that they were flirting. Now I'm still on that horse, and I'm approaching them. I stop in front of a fountain but he doesn't see me. I have a group of friends on horseback too. They state that Jeremy was never in the "Northern Territory" that he was here all along with the "witch." Some how he was spelled into staying or something like that, I really don't remember the reason. Then out of my body comes this old white knight ghost like creature. He starts going on this rant that he is some ancestor and he knows that we must kill this witch to save the world. I forget the whole speech but it was weird. So we go to this huge body of water and get on a boat and of course go into this creepy cave. The ancestor knight turns into a giant "demon" which looks like the bomber creatures on Final Fantasy 13, it goes into the cave ahead of us and out of the "witch" is this other demon that is just a flat square floating around. I guess my friends and I explore the cave or something but I pretty much watch the scene and follow the demons. I figure out in my head that the witch was using the demon for power and that we had to get Jeremy away. The demons disappeared and were fighting in a different part of the cave. Up above my dream focused on this giant valve that was getting released with this purple/pink goo that was going to drip into the cave. We all began to hurry and knew that we had to let the goo lift us up out of the cave into this shoot to escape. Which we did and we were thrown into the air and landed in the lake...
This led into a different dream (There is a lot more to this last dream but it's hard to explain...I don't know how to describe my feeling or the characters. Something to do with these two cartoon like characters running around in the cave...)

Dream 4: I'm swimming in a lake at a campground (maybe it came back to the original campground). There is a boat that I'm trying to climb up into from a ladder but something kept stinging/biting my legs in the water. I was getting really scared and woke up.

I always feel like I'm writing a novel or telling a long story when I write/explain my dreams. I find it amazing that all of it happened in such a short period of time, yet it feels like forever. It also amazes me that I can even think of something so crazy like these dreams. The last 2 dreams were so vivid and beautiful with colors.

    3. Two separate lucids this morning!

by , 03-06-2011 at 12:23 AM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm descending slowly through the levels of a house. When I realize what's happening to me and that this is a dream, I decide to stop in the third level down and explore it. I will myself to stop moving downward and to be standing on the floor, and achieve both of those desires. I begin walking through the rooms, concentrating both on the action of walking and on the scenery around me, knowing that my concentrated attention will keep the dream stable. There are some steps down into a large living room. I think, This reminds me of some of my friends' houses. Well, of course it does. That's where my mind must have picked up the images that this dream is made up of.

I turn around to take in more of the room. While I'm doing so, I think, I need a mirror. When I look back at a particular section of wall a second time, a large, tall, rectangular, frameless, wall-mounted mirror has appeared there.
[Cool! I guess I'm getting better at controlling the features of the dream environment.] I come up to the mirror and stick my hand into it. My hand goes right into the mirror and is obscured by silver mist, but I feel nothing at all. I still don't particularly want to try to go anywhere else that way, though, so I don't. However, on the floor to my left, I see a large, freestanding flatscreen TV [the same size and model we have in my real house], and decide to try to go through that. As I crouch down in front of it, I think briefly of a couple of specific places from my past that I would like to find on the other side of the screen. I then start going through it. I feel the screen snap when I start pushing through it, and feel the edges of its two halves dragging against my body as I climb into the TV. There's nothing inside but darkness. I ended up just waking up. [I failed to choose a single destination and truly believe that it would be there on the other side of the screen.]

I went back to sleep and had another dream. I'm in a room with a bunch of computers, and someone is directing me to complete a series of questionnaires on one computer, which is on the aisle that goes down the center of the room, between the rows of tables. One of the questionnaires involves looking at frames from an animated TV show and identifying what show they're from. I recognize them as being from the Garfield and Friends TV show.

From there, the dream shifts, putting me in that episode of that TV show. I'm standing right behind the protagonist, watching him/her
[not sure] have a conversation with another character just outside the gate to a town. The setting appears to be a medieval fantasy story. I recognize that I'm dreaming. The conversation is finished, and the second character admits the protagonist and me through the gate. As I pass the gatekeeper character, I say to him, “It's good to see you again.” I start walking along through the open space in the center of the town, again concentrating on walking and on the scenery around me. As I walk, I cover my mouth with both hands and whisper into them, “I was actually talking to the town.” I can actually feel the warmth and moisture of my breath on my hands, which impress me with their realism.

I pass by a shop building with off-white walls and a window, and go, “Oh, yeah.” I remember that I still want to try to walk through a wall. I turn to my right, walk right up to that wall and keep on walking. I can only get a little way into it. It feels like walking into a flexible, but thick, strong, and semi-solid piece of rubber.
      [That's the last I remember.]
