I had two fragments this morning. I'm amazed I remember them. Dream 1 - I'm sitting in a room with a box, similar to a Jack-In-The-Box but less interesting. It has some odd decorative shapes on the sides so I can only assume it's a toy. The box sits on a plain table. The table sits in a plain room, perhaps 8 feet on a side, and one wall has a window set in it. The window is covered by a blind which blocks any view to the other side of the window. Out of the box pops a purple monkey wearing a hat. It's not actually part of the toy but seemingly sitting on top of the box. It waves around like a toy but I know I would never buy it. The monkey talks to me and I talk back but I have no recall of what is said. And I wake up. Dream 2 - I'm walking along a hike-and-bike trail and the most fascinating thing for my attention is the asphalt. Usually the trails around here are crushed granite but this one is paved, and I'm lucid enough to not only know I'm dreaming but enthralled by the detail in the pavement. A runner comes by, one of the many who runs this path, and as his foot passes in front of me a spray of dirt is lifted into the air. Time slows down and I can examine each particle of dirt as it floats in front of me, tumbling in slow-motion at a pace slow enough to reach out and touch it. I can't believe no one else but me notices this, but I really don't care. It's incredible, like having a nature show in my mind. I think to myself, "I love slow-motion." And I wake up.
