My dream journal is a bit mixed up because I started a new one on a new laptop, but have also been making entries on my old one on an older laptop. Now I'm out of town and only have my older laptop, so here are some of the entries so far:

July 9th, 2024 (Comp night 4)

Fragment 1

At a library. There is a book sale going on. I don’t think there is much time left before the book sale ends (or maybe I have to leave soon) and I go to look at the shelves rather quickly. I see a nicely bound set of Edgar Allen Poe stories.

Fragment 2

There is some sort of computer game in which you do something with alarm clocks. The alarm clocks are also traps of some kind.

Something about candy.

Dream 1

There is a place where it is illegal to sell grain to women. But there are people who work on threshing grain in secret, in sort of deep cylindrical tanks where it can’t be seen what they are doing. Women come here and are secretly given grain. This turns somehow into colored rocks that are all put into a box together (not exactly sure I remember how it transitioned into this). Then there is something where people have been baptized, but in some cases nails are sticking out of boards on the side of the house (not sure how that relates). I go around trying to pound the nails into place. I think at first I see a couple sticking out of a stove top, but on second glance I don’t see them. Meanwhile, someone I am with has strep throat. I realize that I should probably cover my face to avoid catching it. There might be a lady there too, and there is something in my mind about how this is like Muslim women in some places covering their faces.

Now I’m moving through a jungle. We might be chased at this point. There is a kid with us, and as we come to a corner of some dense vegetation a snake appears and looks threatening. The get gets really aggressive, as though they are trying to fight the snake in panic. This seems like a bad idea to me, but somehow the kid avoids getting bitten by the snake.

Meanwhile, Indiana Jones has become involved. Possibly, during the snake scene, someone is using his whip to fight the snake. There is a man with us, maybe a guide or something, who has a ring. Looking closely at the ring you can see what looks like an image with a shield or something that is connected to the lost continent of Atlantis. This man is also a donkey, somehow.

At my old job. I have made a box for something, and one or two other things that I think turned out nicely. I hope this will impress the boss.

July 10th, 2024 (Comp Night 5)

Fragment 1

I am at the edge of a lake with another person. This person is telling me his theory that we might actually be in a dream. I’m a bit skeptical of this theory, but I am also wondering what difference it would make if this were a dream. He says something about having “free will”. But I argue that we have free will already, and we can do whatever we want even if this is a dream.

Fragment 2

Walking down the street where I used to live. I get to the corner, where my friend’s house was. There is a library here. I have been drinking something, and want to throw away my bottle or cup at the library. I find a trash can, but then I see that there is also a recycling bin. I take the bottle/cup out of the trash and put it in the recycling bin. Meanwhile, I glance inside the library to see the old familiar sites. They seem to have put in a big fancy fireplace and/or stage that wasn’t there before.

Fragment 3

Walking with my grandfather and I think one or two other people. There is a man and a woman together. They get into an argument, I think, and the man starts chasing after the woman as though he is going to hurt her. I try to intervene, but my grandfather (who is deceased in waking life but is in his 90s in this dream) is quicker. He runs after the couple in defense of the woman.

Dream 1

Playing a game. Possibly the lurkers.io game I play a lot and dream about. There is a video feed with some other players. They are sitting at their keyboards as though they are driving vehicles. I’m looking at them through what looks like the back cab window of a pickup truck. They look through at me, and one of them might even partially crawl through the window. He looks around my room, and asks about a certificate I have from the “Smith Family of Builders”. I explain that that is where I used to work.

Fragment 4

There is a package, with a time bomb in it. You can hear it ticking if you listen closely. Someone runs to get help, but in the meantime we try to get the package wet (somehow that would help). We fill a sink and toss the package in there, in the nick of time I guess.

July 14th, 2024 (Comp Night 9)

Dream 1

At my grandparents' old house. I go to use the bathroom. I have a couple of options here. I could use a nice bathroom near the bedroom, or I could use a porta-potty kind of thing that is located underneath the bed in the bedroom. I get the idea that I should use the porta-potty, possibly because I feel like I’m not supposed to flush if I use the toilet in the bathroom. The porta-potty is located beneath the mattress, which I pull back from the bed. I’m a bit indecisive about this though, and I might end up going into the bathroom instead. I try to lock the door here, because my grandmother seems to be coming along and I’m afraid that she might accidentally come into the bathroom. This, in fact, happens. She has a tape recorder, or might be looking for a tape recorder. Rummaging through some drawers.

Fragment 1

I’m looking at someone’s dating profile. It shows a woman of Asian descent, wearing a dress, I think. She is dancing in what looks like a rain storm inside of a store. She might be singing the song “Singing in the Rain”. A wider view shows that the store, which sells shoes and other things, has showers mounted on a wall, and these are turned on.

Talking to a friend on the phone. Or trying to. Somehow I think Abe is on the phone too. There is something odd going on with the phone.

Before WBTB

Decay:
I'm at my childhood home with Robert F. Kennedy on the phone. I'm supposed to pick him up at the airport.
I'm telling him about several other stressors that are happening at the moment, getting to why I will be delayed.
I'm also supposed to pick up my friend D from somewhere.
On the kitchen table, there is a game of Monopoly left out. I arrange the pieces in a funny way anticipating the payoff later when everyone arrives.
Looking around the home - it is in disrepair. Dusty and broken.
But Oreo, my childhood cat is there. I marvel that she is still alive somehow.
She looks like she hasn't eaten in a long time, with her fur all patchy.
My Grandma and some others in the group tell me I can't help her and I have to leave.
I don't want to leave her alone so I pick her up and bring her home with us.
...
Later we are in the driveway, and there are 3 or 4 cars all in it.
This makes it difficult to leave.


How could I say no to this?

After WBTB

Mannikin:
I'm at my Grandma's current condo. It is late at night and I'm on a couch that is further down the den than it should be.
There is a clothing mannikin out near the hallway. It is slowly swaying. I notice that it has a wig similar to my Grandma's on.
I worry about the mannikin turning to face me, and then it does.
It has two black voids for eye holes, and I understand immediately that my Grandma's soul is trapped in this mannikin.
The mannikin falls down and breaks into pieces.
I scream, and my girlfriend wakes me up. I hear myself making a weird scream-moan sound.

Fragment:
I'm with my Grandma and Uncle at a hotel. They are on one bed together and I am on the other.
I'm talking about how my girlfriend's family stresses her out all the time.

Summer Competition - Night 9

1. Mall Balcony (LD)
I'm in what seems to be a mall thinking about states of consciousness, especially, LDing. I turn to Bran and become lucid. I tell him to check out what I'm going to do. I fly upward toward a walkway a couple stories above with a railing on the edge. As I fly, it seems as though I'm not making progress at the midway point. Time for hookshot.I raise my right arm and fire a hookshot to the upper rail. I immediately zoom up to it and float over. I notice dad far down tot he left and fly over to him.
"Hey dad." I look down at my hands, breathing slowly, grounding. I wake up.

Record - Back to Sleep.
2. Mall Walkway (LD)
I'm in a mall walking in a central area.
"This is a dream...This is a dream...This is a dream." My hands come out in front of me as I become lucid.
"I'm lucid". I turn left, considering some control. I see a large metallic kiosk and figure I may as well do some super strength. I pick the whole thing up and chuck it down the central walkway of the mall. I then turn right and see a guy in a suit working behind a counter area. I decide to interact, so I float over to him and adjust his bowtie, laughing. I then decide to use invisibility to steal the gold pin he's wearing. I snap, go invisible, and snatch it easily - the man looks past me as I do so. I come out of invisibility and place it back into his hand, laughing. I float off farther down the central walkway and take in the sites of the shops to the side. I go for some time dilation and begin to levitate. I imagine the scene freezing over and see a bit of vague frost over the edge of my field of vision. I imagine the dream freezing in time. I stand back up and float farther down, going for fireball. It doesn't cast right away, so I look at my right hand for the ring of elements and see it on my index finger. I then go to cast fireblast, yet don't have any luck. I continue to float forward to a room toward the edge of the mall. Several people are gathered, especially in an area to the left which drops down slight via a couple of stairs - they appear to be playing instruments. I explore toward the back and notice a large black double door in a dim area. I begin to feel the dream may be fading. I turn back from where I came, exploring in that area. Once again, I find a double door to the left in a dim area. I begin to imagine that it's daytime beyond. As I turn, the whole area seems to dim. I imagine a light turning on in front of me and begin to see a white light appearing in the walkway in front of me, illuminating around it. The dream rapidly fades, however, and I wake up.

3. Hotel Room (LD)
I'm in a bathroom for a solid two to three minutes, thinking about dreams and noticing my dream signs. I think that with practicing heightened awareness, I may be able to notice more. I look around. Where the heck am I?? I feel a bit of concern and stand up.
Nose pinch. I'm lucid. I begin thinking about what I'd like to do and phase into the door to my right. The dream quickly goes to void. I start rubbing around in the void for a while, waiting; I'm unsure if I'm going to wake up and I'm trying to prevent it. I soon find myself on the floor of a hotel room, right in front of a queen bed. I stand, walk over to the sheets, and pull them back. I notice it's Han. I give her a big hug. I soon wake up.

* Slide labyrinth race I'm in a canal of water, like a "lazy river" at a water park, and on the other side of the canal and a bit to my left are about 3-4 people standing outside on the edge of the canal, on swimmer's starting platforms, a bit elevated, there is a guy with an erection on the right that grabs my attention, his <ahem> is entirely outside his outfit. There is a starting signal and they all dive into the water and start to swim (to my right). There are some sports commentators narrating and they mention the guy's thang hanging outside his suit. I'm following behind them. They're all swimming very strangely, some variant of butterfly with very odd movements, I wonder how they can swim like this. There are about 4-5 people in front of me. (Something about them beings wolves?). The canal is now very narrow and I don't notice water any more, it is like a blue plastic water park water slide tunnel. There are some brightly colored only shaped protrusions in the slide (yellow? Red?) I have a top-down view of the water slide, it is a huge, highly elevated, serpentine, tightly packed labyrinth of these tightly turning water slide tubes, without roofs/tops. I get a view of the whole thing from my perspective. I know the contest is a race to find something. The goal is also to gain abilities from things found in the slide. I'm thinking whether I can use this top view to search for the goal item(s).
* Car dealer A famous female celebrity can't parallel park, I watch her try (?) and she just leaves. I think there is ample curb space in order to park. I and woman friend are also looking to park, I notice there is a lot where there is a car dealer we know to the right of the road we're on, and I see a number of available parking places, and I think this is unusual as normally there aren't any spaces. We're now standing besides a car and the dealer is there, it's a car he will be selling, sort of a red, low sporty model. The dealer asks if we like our car, I say yes but am hesitant because I seem to recall that there were problems, but I don't remember the details.
* Christmas Carols in an indoor area like a living room of a home, there are people there [DS] there is one guy in particular near the far wall and he starts singing Christmas carols, I join in, and do some harmonizing, I change to a new Carol
* I'm holding a piece of an ear, it's the outer edge, it feels rubbery, I try chewing on it a bit and it's very tough. I know that a crook is looking for a former colleague they think is a snitch
* I come up to the back of a van which is open and there is a lot of electronic equipment inside. A woman there (Janet L? From company K?) is preparing to perform surgery. I ask if that's a good idea since the electronics were recently located in a plate that flooded and probably shorted out. She answers [forgot]
* With Wife L L and I are hugging and tumbling to the ground, we roll around a little bit and stop, laughing. I notice that L stops with her head near the front left wheel of a parked car, I think that would have been bad if the car had been driving, and think it's a dangerous position. My POV moves to a bed, and I remember happier days when we were more active.

I moved my alarm a little when i woke up and soon found myself in my bed dreaming, did a nose pinch and realised im dreaming (+1), it was really dark so i tried to take off my sleep mask to add a bit of light (+5) but i needed more so i took off over 10 of them (+5) till i could see clearly, went to look out of my window but an irl sound pulled me out of the drem, i waited till i found myself walking outside and instantly knew i was dreaming, i asked for wings and felt them before flying to make sure it wouldnt be the half working flight i had last time (+5), i started flying around landing on skyscrapers till i felt like it could be called fast flight (+10)(+10), i was trying to do everything as possible because i knew i had very little time till my alarm rings, i then flew back to the ground and started looking for a pebble on the ground to put in my mouth (currently unsure why), i knew it wouldnt feel good, but it was worse than i imagined, it felt awfull on my teeth (+5) and the rock dust made my mouth feel very dry, then my alarm woke me up.
