    1. Naiad Overdrive

Morning of May 22, 2020. Friday.

      Dream #: 19,513-02. Reading time: 1 min 50 sec.

In instinctual dreaming mode, though not long after a lucid transition and cessation, I am in an unknown second-floor apartment that has the erroneous implication of being where we presently live. Five cardboard boxes are adjacent to one wall. They contain belongings of an unfamiliar woman Zsuzsanna knows, but since we are supposedly moving, we will remove her possessions first.

When the unfamiliar male removalist arrives (as a typical passive sleep-wake manager), I help him put the boxes into the back of his van even though they are not very big. I arrange them in two stacks of three and two, which is interesting, as, although the boxes change size and shape (regarding height and width contrast) several times, the number of them does not change, which suggests cognizance is becoming active.

I talk with him about having worked on a garbage route, and he expresses amusement in how I describe walking in a landfill and the ground giving way when empty cardboard boxes are just beneath the surface. What I am describing is an analogy of losing consciousness when falling asleep as well as not having lucidity, and as a result, instinctual reinduction jumps to a pre-liminal focus.

I am in the apartment again. I have four galvanized metal washtubs filled with water and sitting on the floor. I pick a water lily off a plant from another area and put it on the water’s surface. It sinks slightly, and I wonder if too much organic material is missing for it to grow. I put another blossom on the surface of the water in the second washtub. Eventually, I see what looks like seaweed swirling in the water. A girl (Naiad) emerges from each washtub.

I have a cylindrical segment of a big branch (or small log) with a carved recess of a scene that features a miniature house and yard. I put this in the fourth washtub after putting an oversized jeweled Easter egg in the third. Two additional Naiads emerge, one seemingly the leader. All of them are wearing white gowns.

The Naiad leader stands close to me and eventually starts talking about a human male she once knew. I see a depiction on a small viewscreen floating in the air, showing their history, the speed of which seems accelerated. A red letter x appears and vanishes on each of her cheeks (in the video) numerous times, indicating where he kissed her.

Although a letter x supposedly means a kiss (what I have heard much of my life), there is also the contradicting claim that letter o means a kiss (as puckering lips), not letter x, and that an x represents two people hugging. It can also mean a sworn oath and has ties to Christianity in the Middle Ages.

    2. People Lake Canoeing, Me Bicycle Riding, MP Typewriter

Morning of September 24, 2019. Tuesday.

Dream #: 19,272-02. Reading time (optimized): 1 min 30 sec.

Precursory: I am aware I am in bed at our present address though I do not perceive the room with coherence even though it is a vivid dream. My head is downward (though I am sleeping on my left side) though I have no perception of any other body part yet. My mouth is not against the mattress as my head seems elevated a few inches. I am aware it is morning, and although daylight is present, there is no cohesive imagery yet.

Induction: I am aware of at least one Naiad, but I do not see her. I can only hear her voice and breath in my ear after several short snippets of gibberish from farther behind me. She says, “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe” while near my left ear. Although I try to bring about communication with expectation with liminal dream state awareness, it does not occur, though I do not possess speech capability in this mode.

Post-induction: I watch several couples in canoes from a distance. I do not attempt to identify anyone. It seems to be late afternoon now. There are minimal ruins adjacent to the shore.

Vestibular stage: I ride a bicycle on a hilltop, avoiding sparsely arranged rocks. My concern is minimal as the tires phase through any that are directly in front of my path. (I am aware of attempting to enhance my imaginary physicality with this activity.)

The drop: I ride my bicycle off the edge of an embankment, and I slowly fly after it vanishes (without exit point modulation). I end up hovering near the doorway of one of the ruins, and I have a desire to look inside. I float into the room in a standing position.

Cognitive arousal: An MP (preconscious modulator as authoritative) is sitting at a desk with a typewriter. I cannot tell if he is real and had fallen asleep or if he is a mannequin. Upon attempting to read what he had typed, I see only sequences of random letters that change each time I look again. My view seems magnified. I see the red and black ribbon, red above black.

(As I am already in emerging awareness and cognitive arousal there is no need for the preconscious to be intrusive.)

Morning of March 1, 2002. Friday.

Dream #: 12,856-02. Reading time (optimized): 1 min.

The usual water induction is eventually stable as an irregular pool in an outdoor area near a forest. One side has a rickety wooden fence, the other a solid wall. A staircase goes up to the wall where there is no door. Naiads, modeled after Zsuzsanna, play in the water.

The scene changes into an automobile assembly line in an unknown factory. Over time, vestibular system correlation takes many unusual forms as different distortions involving cars, trucks, and vans. There is a truck with its left side ambiguously merged into a wall. Over vehicles are overgrown with vines. There is a futuristic car of an aerodynamic but unrealistic design. (The angles seem too extreme.) A firetruck is on what is similar to the base of a statue.

Eventually, the preconscious simulacrum shows up in dark glasses with a spy essence. There is a bell he may be ringing soon. I anticipate this but move into the waking transition on my own.

Vehicles (other than literal tie-ins) often represent the imaginary physical body in dreaming but can correlate with the real body depending on the state. (For example, a broken car door may be prescient of a lame arm, or a melting tire relevant to a burnt or injured foot.)

The dark glasses are a supraliminal awareness of my closed eyes in sleep. The bell is the waking alert factor (potential cortical arousal). The firetruck also represents co-occurrence with cortical arousal, which is why it is on an elevated base in this case.
