Thread: Spring Competition 2024

In order to understand any of what I type in my DJ for the competition, you will need to understand my dream world a bit. So this is a TL;DR for all of those that are interested. I will most likely be completing just one big quest through the competition and many small side quests. Should be loads of fun.

So quick intro to my dream world, the name of the universe is zodra and so is the name of the planet I’m on and the name of the capital city that is somewhere on the east coast in America.

Every time I go to sleep, I am in this same universe.

One day, a long time ago, when I wasn’t lucid, a girl approaches me and lets me know that some dream characters are trying to kill me and that they’ve killed 12 out of 14 of the different “sensei” from all 14 different dimensions. Her name is Lily and she is also me. We are the only two left.

About a week ago, I was traveling to different planets and universes looking for fun (and finding it) and found a giant writhing powerful god in space. When I jumped to him to talk and see if he wants to talk or fight, I recognized him immediately. It was me. One of the 14 that must have transformed in order to survive.

Over the last decade I’ve made a lot of friends in the dream world. I’m either going to be bringing them with me to this other universe to help fight for this other sensei or finding their doppelgängers and having them fight with me. This also leaves an opening for me finding the other 11 if they aren’t actually killed.

The quest starts with me finding and explaining this whole thing to Lily.

Night 1

Dream 1
I start the dream, I teleport to a space port and start trying to find a spaceship so that I can take a group to the other zodra. I end up landing on the idea of an American spacecraft and change the colors around to a bit more black and not just white. Imagine the endeavor, but switch black and white colors. I create a portal and fly it through. End up in space that looks about the same on the other side.
Teleport = 10 points
First three step task = 5 points
Change big object = 10 points
Fly = 10 points (I think that this would be considered fly using the spaceship to fly or use dream item for control)
Electronics = 5 points
Total = 40


Dream 2
As im changing the controls around I can see lots of potential fun places to fly to. Keep zooming in and out with my eyes. Back up a bit to third person so I can see how it looks flying and how it controls. can feel both bodies. Another ship comes into play and I mind control the DCs on it. They are just regular NPCs, so it is very easy. Controlling both ships. Developing rules to space flight if I get into a dog fight. Otherwise conservation of momentum will go out the window. Keep hitting the gas and then trying to turn the ship quickly to see what will happen. at first it reacts like a plane, then a bit like a car. I finally get it to fly like an x wing and have to summon items into the ship that aren't in it usually and banish a bunch to make it run like I want. Something to control gravity, something to control my direction, which is very hard to measure when there is nothing to compare it to. I have to hit a button at the beginning of the travel to mark something as 0, 0, 0 so that my controls make sense. I can also shift that as I like. I keep practicing for a while, going in and out of portals back and forth to make sure I don’t get stuck in new universe.
Object changing = 5 points (changing how the control panel is made)
Zoom in and out with eyes = 5 points (rando control)

Dream 3
On new zodra+ at a museum. Learning about the world and how it changes. It doesn’t change quite the same with control as zodra does, but I can’t figure out the differences yet. While I’m there I run into old man. Old Man?!? What the hell. He takes me and the tourist group together to a boat and shows me a game. he shows me about how speed is much more important here. My normal control is messed up because the world reacts differently to intent. The whole world feels a tad different. He keeps showing me how to speed up things. Telling me the main issue is going to be speed no matter who I fight. He gives us rubber band guns and we have to do a cod match with them. Unlimited rubber bands, but we have to load them. I can load them with TK but the other people can to. Old man shows me that I’m being too specific with it and if I move the gun it will mess up. If I do it vague and just mark when it does it right, it will continue doing it right and follow that path and I can keep moving it faster and faster. I get it to 1000 bands a second eventually.
Telekinesis = 10 points

Dream 4
Gotta work on flying. I’ve never been amazing at it, it became second nature on zodra through practice. I can change my surroundings similar to zodra and even bring dcs with me, which makes it harder. I teleport myself and my oldest son with me. He is very much a dc version but also seems to know he is dreaming here. He isn’t interested much in control as much as looking around so I show him amazing places. Showing him some beautiful houses using corner teleport (you walk around a corner towards something you cant see and it exists there).. Then we end up at an airport, an easy place to learn to fly. Before our flight I’m giving him some pointers. My flying ability is so slow right now, so as I am relearning and finally moving quicker, I’m showing him how. He finally, right before we board the plane, is able to stay off the ground for a second, during the flight the plan is to jump out. The way I showed him was to have him jump and push his back so that he knows how it feels to be accelerated from a different place. I am only barely able to fly around normal walking speed, but thanks to old man, I understand how to speed this up next time.
Flying = 5 points

Total for night = 5 + 10 + 65 + 40 = 120 points

In the Dream realm of Zödra, my dreams took flight as I embarked on a fun Journey to Zödra+. I learned more about how the world works, I traversed the void to get to a new planet and honed my telekinetic powers. I met my Dream guide for the 5th time ever in my adventures and taught my son how to fly.

Spoiler for Changes to Zodra:

Note that because of how I want my dream worlds to go, I am not going to be considering my son persistent and his dc will fade into obscurity. if he shows up again i will banish him from all realms so that I don't have interference from him. I love him, but I don't want to have a DC of him in my dreams that I spend time with when I can just spend time with the real him.*

Nights 2-4 were really slow and I should be able to update all of them tomorrow. Night 5 was very memorable and I'm hoping to type that up tomorrow as well.
