    1. Huh...

by , 01-04-2018 at 09:16 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 5:00 AM

      Woke up at: 1:00 PM

      Dream:
I think I'm in a warped, dreamlike version of my school, fused with one of the houses from the colonias near my town. It's all the usual dream stuff, just me walking around, minding my own business...

When the DC of my dead cousin shows up. And I am speechless.

Now, I'm not gonna sugarcoat things. Even though this was an experience personal to me, I felt like it was worthy enough to be talked about. It's nothing too graphic or too sad, so stick with me.

He's wearing a greasy looking pinstriped suit, a faded black with light gray lines. He looks unkempt, as was his style I guess. He was always the "cool" one, and often put his appearance first before anything (The man owned a leather jacket for Pete's sake).

Immediately I start choking up. He's on the other side of a chainlink fence but manages to jump over it because he could. I think he was talking about something, but I was too preoccupied dealing with my own anxieties.

"This is the one person I hate so much...How could he do this to us? Why does he still look so cool? How is this possible? The one person I try so hard not to emulate shows up in my dream, without MY permission? Typical. But...there are so many questions..."

He walks around for a bit; around a twisting, almost rotten tree, and peers into a window. Excited children flood the window, and he smiles back. I get even more temperamental.

He parkours his way up a wall, onto the roof, totally in line with his character. I think to myself:

"What do I talk to him about? How different are we? Why the hell did you do that to us? Will I ever see you again? Can you get the heck away from me?" My fist clenches trying to hold it in, and I choke up once more, on the verge of tears.

But I don't have any time to think.

The children whom he had met burst out through the door, and he jumps back down to meet them. I trail them all back inside through a red door to my right.

They're all laughing, having a good time, but I demanded an answer from him (Well, not really but you get the point) and still he had nothing left to say. The children have also done some excellent drawings and sketches on notebook paper, and I admire just how detailed it looks.

But I clearly have had enough. I stormed out of the room and went to contemplate this situation elsewhere.

I wind up in a big city. A parade seems to be going on in town as kids throw humongously large rubber dodgeballs at each other, cars pour in from every corner, and confetti rains down from above.

I don't take part in the festivities, I'm too shaken to even think. In the real world, that would've been the death of me. I walk callously across each gathering of students and even snake my way through busy traffic.

I come across a chainlink fence and think I should climb it, but thoughts of my deceased cousin crossed my mind, and I move onto something else.

And that's when the dream ended.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Nonna is my late grandma, she passed away from cancer April 2015.

I was in my Nonna's apartment. We were in her bedroom sorting through her stuff, organizing her room. I missed her a lot, but she seemed happy. We found a golden bracelet and she gave it to me. She said she had been keeping it for me and that it would help me find my way.
I remembered someone had died, but couldn't remember who. I thought it was my Nonna's sister. I hugged her tight.

    3. The Haunted House, My father and Kane

      by , 02-16-2012 at 04:33 PM (Circa's Journey's Through The Night.)
First off i'd like to say my father passed away when i was 13 and i am now 18, this is the second dream i've ever had with him in it, the first being a very similar dream a few nights ago.

I was sitting in the passenger seat of my dad's pickup truck which was parked outside of a clearly abandoned old house that seemed very familiar. My dog(which was actually my IRL friend's dog, Kane) was sitting in my lap with his leash in my hand. I finally recognized this house as one i'd seen in a dream before and remembered my dad telling me it was haunted(in the dream i just thought of it as an actual memory, not a dream). I had no idea why we were there, but that didn't matter at the time. We entered the house and it was different than last time. It was carpeted rather than having half-broken wood floors and the ceilings seemed lower. The basement of the small house where we were heading, just like the last time we were there. As we entered the musty room my dad let Kane roam free off his leash while we did whatever we had to do. We were just looking around, observing things. I started to hear strange noises such as doorbells and people calling my name all around me so we decided it was time for us to head out of there. We got Kane back on his leash and headed upstairs. Right as we were about to exit the house, Kane broke off his leash and ran back into the basement. Afraid of losing our dog my dad and I rushed back downstairs to look for him. He was crawling through some small cracks that we couldn't reach him in, but we finally got him out. After we got back upstairs to the front of the house the same thing happened again only my dad told me to stay here this time. I was waiting for a long while standing in the middle of the living room looking down the stairs hoping to see my dad,s familiar face. I grew nervous and decided to go downstairs. My dad was trying to get Kane out of another small area and then i noticed an old laptop i had never seen before. I told my dad about it and he said i could have it. I didn't want the laptop though i only wanted to see what was on it. I clicked the shortcut for the internet, but it turned out the icon was only an alias for some program that actually deleted the internet. "Oh well" i thought and went to help my dad rescue Kane. I looked back at the laptop and it was playing Minecraft by itself and i found it very amusing. Kane was back on his leash by the time i was done watching Minecraft play itself and we left the house after what seemed to be a few hours of being there. I still have no idea what we were doing there and what the significance of this dream, if any, is.
