1. Lucid Bug, Spraying The Trees - 05262012 - 2nd Dream

by , 05-27-2012 at 12:15 AM
I have never been an insect before in a flying dream. The feeling was incredible.

I’m an employee of the Department of Natural Development, amagical division that is responsible for many of the changes seen in nature. Certainaspects of the natural world do not occur without the aid and assistance ofmagical beings like me. We are capable of becoming the tiniest of people, andthis makes us perfectly suited to our jobs.
As I walk through the office to put up my briefcase and grabmy equipment I immediately become lucid and realize that I need to activate myshrinking power before I take off. I walk into a special staging room designedfor transformations and I shrink to insect size. Everything around me becomesthe tallest of towers as my perspective changes. The feeling is almostsickening.
My equipment has also shrunk and I place the safety straparound my body, hooking into the harness and the lock that attaches to my belt.Next to me is a switch and I press it, which allows me to exit the room beforesomeone else comes in, preventing people from being squished.
I leave the officebuilding and I find myself flying over a crowd of people walking along a busysidewalk. I pass by several very close, feeling a little daring, and a youngman actually swats at me though his slow hand comes nowhere close. As I gainaltitude I’m laughing, both at how good this feels and how awesome it is toevade his swatting hand. He looks annoyed as he talks on his cell phone.
My little wings are making a buzzing sound, though I knowthey aren’t real wings like those of an insect. They’re manufactured to imitatethe sound of a fly or bee, speeding me to my work. I wear office clothes despite my need toappear like an insect, and the only thing keeping me from being seen is myincredibly small size and super-fast speed.
I fly into a grouping of redbuds, or perhaps cherry trees,I’m not sure which. Both trees appear similar in spring, white flowers thatchange colors as the season develops. I am carrying a sprayer, a machine thatappears like a high-powered blower, and my job is to spray the scent onto theflowers. Without me, the trees would have no smell and people wouldn’tappreciate the trees as much. Without me….well…how else would the scent getthere?
Flitting in and out of the branches is exhilarating, and Ishare the air with bees and butterflies, though neither comes near me fearing thesound of my wings. The vibrations make other creatures stay clear of me, and Iam free to spray the trees without interruption. I think about how cluelessregular people are and what they would think if they knew about the sprayingthat I’m doing.
And then I wake up.

2. Lucid Snow, OpheliaBlue, and a Snake In The Mud- 05262012 1st Dream

by , 05-27-2012 at 12:13 AM
It's not every day that someone from DreamViews appears in my dream, but this isn't the first time OpheliaBlue has shown up.

I’m on a backroad in California, somewhere not too far fromthe Sierras. Trees and bright green meadows line the road, a perfect place fora drive in the country. I encounter very few people.
Up ahead is a driveway that I suspect is an H.E.B., an oddthing to find in California. I pull off the road into the dirt parking lot andwork to fit my vehicle in behind some other SUV. The rear end of the vehiclesticks out onto the road a little but not as far as other nearby vehicles so Iassume it’s okay.
The store seems less like a supermarket and more like an oldcountry store that has fallen to disrepair. There are no bright overhead lightsand the floor seems dirty. Condensation water drips from various chilleddisplays and pools on the floor, a clear slip hazard. The shelves are filledwith items but the selection is slim with little to no product competition.
Wandering through the store and carrying a hand basket Iselect a loaf of bread and a cucumber, something in a jar and some off-brandtype of soda I’ve never heard of. I seem to not be shopping for a meal butrather just picking up items as I go along and see things I am familiar with. Iremember that I need some water bottles and grab a case of Ozarka, noting thatI still have one at home under the table.
A cashier is standing by an old-fashioned manual cashregister, his hands on the counter while he waits expectantly for someone tobuy some groceries but I just walk on past him. My belongings seem to disappearas I walk back outside. The parking lot has puddles in it and I have tojump-step to avoid them.
The sky is a dark grey and as I look up at it snow begins tofall, light at first but quickly turning heavier. I become lucid as the snowand ice falls onto my skin, the chill of the ice almost painful as it lands onme. I just stop and stand there for a minute, looking at the ice melt, feelingthe cold penetrate into me. It’s a really neat sensation for a dream. As theice crystals hit they change from white to blue, then back to white beforemelting and dripping down the side of my arm. The blue is intriguing, and Irecognize it as a dream sign.
Wiping the water from my arm I continue on my way throughthe parking lot. My car is still sticking out onto the road and I no longerfeel so comfortable with it there. It seems too exposed to traffic, so the bestsolution is to move it further into the parking lot. I hop in and start mycar/SUV by pressing on the gas pedal, my keys seemingly forgotten, or lost.Ahead of me is a zigzag path around a red El Camino that will allow me to parkin a safer area.
I’m surprised so many cars are here; there doesn’t seem tobe many people around the grocery store or even the property. I pull into theclearing but if I stay in the position I could get blocked in a manner thatwould make it impossible to get out. I back up into a carport that I thinkbelongs to the property owner. It slopes uphill and has wooden planks set onthe ground to enable traction. A flimsy green roof covers it. It would be agreat place to park but I don’t want to make the guy mad by parking in hisspot.
From the slight hill I’m on I can see another spot thatwould be perfect, and I pull forward into the circular drive in front of thestore. In the middle of this circle is a bar-style table, and OpheliaBlue isleaning on it and doing her homework. A pencil is held lazily in her right handwith the eraser stuck gently between her teeth. I recognize that I know herfrom DreamViews and this reinforces the lucidity from earlier.
“You’ll never get out that way.” She says this nonchalantly.“You need to go through IRC.”
“Are you sure?” I want to believe her but sometimes it’shard to take the word of a teenager who is clearly rebellious.
“Yeah. It’s the only way to get past the snake in the mud.”She lays her pencil down on her book and straightens up, her hair falling offher shoulders as she does. Her clothing suggests punk but her homework, sometype of higher mathematics, suggests nerd. The glasses just make her lookyounger. As for her words, I know that she is telling me a code to get past thestoreowner’s evil brother.
“Well, then, thank you!” I don’t know what else to say. Iwasn’t expecting such kindness out here in the middle of nowhere. I alreadyfelt like everyone I encountered wanted me to leave, like a stranger who doesn’tbelong to the local clubhouse.
Dangling from Ophelia’s neck is a small pendant, a whiteoval surrounded by ribbed gold. In the center is a black circle, like the pupilin the eye, and in my mind it clearly belongs in a museum, which must mean shestole it. I’m about to ask when she takes it off and hands it to me, placing itin my hand and folding my fingers over it.
“This will get you through. Don’t leave it here.” Her facelooks serious, and her tone suggests urgency.
I look down at it and I have no idea what to do with it. Iwant to ask but she walks away to go wash her hands in the fish sink becauseher pencil made marks on her skin. For me it seems like a good time to leave soI walk up the hill to the road, cross into the woods, and head off looking fora pine tree with an oval carved into it. Somehow this feels right.
The center of the forest is hard to find, and the ferns seemto be sticky. I can feel something clinging to my skin, making the tiny hairs onmy arm feel weird. They make progress slow as I step over the plants and fallenlimbs, and the odd smell of feet seems to be coming from somewhere off to myright.
A voice inside my mind tells me to throw the pendant to findthe tree and I yank on the string to break it. The pull fails to snap the cordso I pull it over my head instead, taking one last look at it before I throwit. The black circle has hints of blue in it like speckles of fire, presumablyparticles of the sky, another recognizable sign of the dream. It’s hard to take my eyes off it but I have tolet it go.
I throw it and a whistling noise fills the air as it arcsinto the distance, landing behind a large bush. I go looking for it, diggingthrough branches and leaves and getting poked in the face.
And then I wake up.

3. Zombies and Aliens, In an Underground Barn

by , 05-27-2012 at 12:06 AM (Random Excerpts From My Dreams)
May 26:

Me and a bunch of other people were in a large underground barn looking area. At some point, I sorta went back in time and changed something, causing zombies to attack everyone. We hid in a smaller area in the place, where there was some sort of hay on the ground instead of cement. In the outside area, there was also a deep circular area of water. I believe I went into it before causing this attack. Anyway, we hid in this area, and there were alien devices, black and white ones. We got word (not sure how, but I think a radio) that this infection was found and people trapped in this place have to stay there (to avoid spreading everything). There was a small window that was just a bit too small to fit through. I thought that maybe we could get out, but i concluded that it was too small. Also, you couldn’t see out of it, it was tinted and covered in dirt from the outside. For some reason (and I know there was one, but I have no idea what it was, and it probably wouldn’t have made sense anyway), I spread a bunch of rice crispies onto the ground (most or all of a box, the only food we had), and then someone said that they was hungry. All I could think was “oops”.
Eventually we left the area and I hid in the water area, but kept my head up so I could see what was going on. I think there was music and i knew something bad was going to happen. Then I saw a tank (From Left 4 Dead 2, the zombie), and was like, okay I’m outta here. Then there was a charger that ran toward the edge of the pavement area. The water was right at the end of it, and I went underwater, and managed to get to the bottom, then came back up. I repeated this multiple times to try to make it so the charger wouldn’t get me. At one point I breathed in underwater, and became a little confused. I couldn’t remember if you were supposed to breathe out or in underwater.

I didn't become lucid.

I think I brushed the idea aside. Eventually when I came up, Cops and/or military had cleaned things up.

easiness to recall:
7/10 (vivid and pretty easy to recall)
