    1. How to Induce Dreamless States

      by , 08-09-2022 at 12:14 AM
There's a state of sleep in which you can be aware without perceptions (neither physical or mental). No imagery, sight, sound, or touch. No perception-based thoughts. Just pure existence in the moment.

I got into doing this by accident when using intention for dream recall. So here's what I did, for those who want to try for themselves:

Set your intention to be aware at the ends of dreams. These can be in between dream cycles, when you wake up naturally in the night, or waking up in the morning.
Placing intention on awareness at this time is key. This allows you to be aware between the dream and waking states.
We naturally switch states at this time (going from sleep to waking), so you have a moment of change and heightened awareness going from one state to the next. It's a gentle shift you can influence. Instead of making that full switch, you choose to stay asleep, allowing the dream to have ended without waking life beginning. You'll stay in the in-between moment. It's uneventful, but in a good way—very calm and quiet.

      Enjoy!

    2. 3/7/14 - forgot my cat

by , 03-07-2014 at 08:41 PM (Leaving the matrix)
I go to my grandmas house, lots of people are there. I bought a lot of food for everyone and put it in the fridge. Suddenly it's night and I decide I don't want to stay over like everyone else is so I go to my house. Now it's the next morning and I realize I left my cat rem over there so I go back there thinking rem must have been freaking out without me and all the people must've been messing with him like teasing children. When I get there I see my mom and dad at the dining table, for some reason I don't think it strange (I haven't seen my dad in like 4 or 5 years). Passing the fridge I realize I'm hungry, so I open it and see weird foods, I pick out this microwave noodle bowl thing and it's called shitzzu drainer, I worry that it will give me the shits or something by the name and I show my parents and they just laugh so I just put it on the table and went down the hall to get my cat and I saw this dingbat sleeping on my grandpas bed, shrugged my shoulders and walked out with my cat.
    3. It's been a rough week

this last two days i haven't been able to remember my dreams. I haven't sleep well. I have to much things to do and i been using my computer too much. I just found that been in front of the computer before going to sleep weakens your ability to fall sleep fast and prevents your REM so you don't get to remember your dream. Today i will stop using my lap at least two hours before going to sleep.

      Wednesday 18th of July, 2012

I was walking in a park kind of area but with several buildings in it. Kind of like Central Park in NY, I suppose. As I walked I came across a little girl rummaging through a bin. She must've been about 6 and she's just humming to herself and digging through garbage. Every now and then she put something she found into a paper bag.
I watched her for a little bit, feeling sad for her, and then her mum came along. I began berating her asking how she could let her daughter do that, then I noticed she herself was really grimy and she explained that they were homeless.

Somehow things evolved really quickly and I found myself crying and chasing the mum because of some kind of elaborate love story about how the young girl created some kind of bond. Except it wasn't to do with me. All I was thinking while it was happening was "Man! This would be a good movie"

      ------

I was with a group of friends including my youngest brother and we were sitting in a cul-de-sac talking to the driver of a semi-trailer. Suddenly someone had a guitar and we were all singing Losing My Religion by REM, except everyone was struggling to keep time properly. I remarked that no one had ever realised that it was the hardest song to sing along to ever.
When we finished the driver, who had been sitting in the cab and leaning out the window, was just like "Thanks!" and began to pull away. As he did the rear of the truck came really close to us and I looked down to notice that my brother was under the truck and about to be squashed by the wheels. I screamed out and raised my hand to reach out to him and as I did so, jolted awake in real life.

Thinking back on it...was the choice of 'REM' a hint that I was dreaming?

    5. I know it was there....

      by , 09-11-2011 at 10:42 PM
I went to bed last night at 11:30, and I woke up this morning at 2:00 AM. I just KNOW that I had been dreaming, which is really weird, because that's way to early for me to be dreaming. The REM part of my sleep-cycle takes four hours at least to really get working, yet I had been dreaming.
Conclusion: I had a dream in layer 1, 2, or 3 of my sleep cycle.
      An odd occurrence, indeed.
