Please read before checking out Dream Journal

Thank you for clicking my DJ. I am currently working on a more sophisticated way to read it, and any comments would do a lot to speed up the process, since I am not lacking time to do this, just the willingness. If you have any questions regarding specific dreams, please ask in those specific entries and like the dream (this will let me know that there is a new comment here and is actually pretty much dream journal etiquette).

You can read my DJ any way you want, but this will outline a more chronological way, other than just “When I felt like writing it”. If you have any specific requests or questions about techniques, feel free to PM me or check out some of my started threads.

My dream world is Zödra (ö = ALT+0246) and was put together from my collection of dream memories as well as some persistent dream characters. I believe that the majority of the continuity in Zödra is due to the fact that I connected all the ideas in waking and believed them to be connected. Now that I believe that, I can alter it during waking and change a few easy rules in waking at will so that I will have a more fun experience there. A persistent dream world is something that has been used by countless dreamers and the idea of persistence has been in effect for hundreds of years. I was getting ready to give up on lucid dreaming until I ran into this:
Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views - Hyu's Adventures - Dream Journals
    Specifically this post:
Persistent realms and other lucid dreaming techniques I use. - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream ViewsIt talks about a world that is always persistent and actions have consequences, and if you die, you can’t come back. After finding it, reading it, and loving it, I redoubled my efforts to LD.
My realm is very important when reading any of my dreams ever, because after I found out about it, and establishing the rules, every dream I ever had became important. Here are the rules that haven’t changed since the beginning:

Zödra is a persistent dream realm, it is not a persistent realm
This simple addition of a word means that the DCs are DCs, not persistent characters, the places are dream places, not persistent. The persistence comes from specific individuals.

Anyone that realizes that it is a dream while in Zödra becomes persistent, and their actions also become persistent. This includes actions taken without knowing it is a dream.
So any other DC that realizes that it is a dream will become persistent and with each place that it goes, that place becomes persistent. While knowing it is a dream, it is possible also to go to a place and it not be persistent, but that takes actual work, default makes it persistent. Also, since I have been lucid before in Zödra, then any dream that I can remember is also persistent, including dreams from childhood before I lucid dreamed. I actually learned this as opposed to making this rule, by accidentally visiting places from childhood dreams, and by talking with persistent characters.

Any abilities you learn inside Zödra stay with you and cannot be lost, though they can be suppressed by other items, people, abilities, or if you springboard off of Zödra into a different realm.
    Long description is self explanatory.

If you tell a DC that they are dreaming, then this does not make them persistent, they have to find it out on their own.
Found out through trial and error. If I tell a DC that it is dreaming, then it won’t be the next dream that I meet it. If a DC knows that it is dreaming when I meet it, then I will more than likely see them again. This should be superseded by the ability that one persistent evil character I know has, but I have yet to try it, he can change someone’s awareness levels if they are not actively protecting their awareness.

So these are kind of the observed rules. They lead to a lot of fun times, and other conclusions, but moving on! Not all the dreams I want on here are on here yet, and I have gotten a lot better at dream goals, so I am expecting most of these to be updated often. Also, there are stars… you know, for you. ☆★☆★☆★☆★

A lot of the Zödra dreams have been written in some weird places and will have to be scavenged and written in the DJ added to the chronology and its category. Should be pretty cool. I am hoping to have a DJ entry for each one of these sometime instead, but we will see.

    1. Fire!!! Non Lucid

      by , 11-13-2012 at 05:55 AM (Zödra)
Lately I have been having a lot of layer zero dreams (dreams where things happen that talk about dreaming, but you don't become lucid)
Last night I actually had a dream that I was told my dad was an oneironaut, which I thought was pretty cool. My dad and I are pretty good friends, but he probably is against lucid dreaming like my mom is.

Anyways, since most of my dreams have either been layer zero, or putting me in a video game, I have been having a great time about dreaming anyways. This is one where I actually used more fire than I ever have had in a lucid dream before, so it was pretty fun.

      Fire

I was in the training ground from Bleach, the one under Urahara's shop, I knew that i was inside, but it looked like it was outside. I was practicing some fire movements, and I pulled back my hand and imagined the fire getting extremely vibrant, and almost burning my hand. I then released it, and it shot out like black Getsuga Tenshou, leaving a crater (exactly like Getsuga does) in it's wake.

I was a little frustrated that I had used up so much energy, since I was actually just warming up before a fight. She was going to be here soon. I needed to get that energy back. I somehow zoomed out away from me, and rewound the video, from afar, zooming in, and watching it slowly, it looked more like Amataresu from Naruto. (because yes, Amaterasu is used in more than one anime because of its meaning) as it went back into my hands, giving me back my energy, and I was back in my body. She arrived, and as I looked up to her and was about to fight her, I woke up.

This is a picture of Amaterasu destroying fire.

    2. Moon Sharing. ★★★★★

      by , 11-04-2012 at 07:33 PM (Zödra)
Hey, I had about 3 or 4 LDs last night, and halfway through them I had this awesome epic LD. When I was in it I was pretty sure it was shared, but now I am not so sure.

I keep having things to do in my dreams that I am told will "make me lucid" it has become a dreamsign for me. I was told that if I plug a USB into it, then I would become lucid. I plugged it in and I started moving things with telekinesis, but I wasn't really aware that I was in a dream. A leprechaun unplugged the USB and "made me not lucid" in the dream, he handed it back to me and told me to put it back where it belongs. I told him I would, but then I decided not to worry about it and get lucid.

As I plugged it in I felt like it was going into my right ear, it hurt really bad, and when I had finished it felt better and I realized that it was unnecessary to become lucid and knew that I was in a dream.

I looked around at my environment, the same place I had been in my previous dream that was also lucid, but this time it was more vivid, and I didn't want to go with the dream this time, I wanted to mess around! (my last dream was bungee jumping without a harness with my friend and acting like a superhero)

There was a crappy house with broken brick lying on the ground everywhere, I picked it all up with my mind and started moving it. I looked at the moon, the night was ending and I wanted to go there. It was right over some mountains. I jumped in the air and nothing happened. Grrr... I can do this, just imagine flying, and believe you can do it. I started floating through the air and flipping my feet around in order to move towards the horizon. As I passed the mountain a man told me to come with him (seemed like the same man from piqued interest) and we both started flying faster and entered "the moon" which wasn't even out of the atmosphere.

Inside was a bunch of people landing on the moon, there was also a front desk that told me to sign in and to go through the program.
"What is this for?" I asked.
"The moon in dreams is used for shared dreaming." She said. I signed in and believed everything she said. I don't think now that this was a shared experience, but in the dream I believed completely that I was surrounded by oneironauts. A lot of stuff happened inside, and they told me not to tell, they said that you can't talk about what is inside except in dreams.

Tell me similar experiences, and if this was a shared dream please tell me. telekinesis

    3. Ghost Concert. ★★☆☆☆

      by , 10-27-2012 at 11:28 AM (Zödra)
I am going through on a computer and this weird lady that is supposed to be my mother is showing me things. She pulls up something that is supposed to be my future baby, and I am looking down at it and ask "is this real?" she replies "no, this is a dream."
I look around, trying to stabilize first. I am somehow in my parents house even though the dream started out in a different random open house and I want to just fly out the window, but it didn't work because of the glass. Screw it, I'll go out the door." i go out to the hallway, walk down the stairs, around the corner and realize that the dream is fading. I start looking at all my surroundings and shaking my extremities. It is dark outside, but it gets brighter, it looks like it is a full moon outside. I open the door to go outside, but then I start switching to a semi-lucid state. I tell myself that I can't leave the door open to my parents house, so I stand outside and "wake myself up." I walk back in the house and go to the top of the stairs and "fall back to sleep" I am now transported outside.
There is a guy outside that wants to hear my band play, he is showing his friends how the guitar at his neighbors house plays itself at certain times of night. I let the guitar stay on the ground and I rock for about 10 minutes. I realize that I don't have to follow with the dream anymore after about 2 minutes, but the other 8 I am in a lucid state and just enjoying my own dream concert that only I can hear
The whole dream lasted 15 minutes (That is how long I told myself that I had been in there right before I woke up)

    4. Learning How To Fly. Non Lucid - Flying

      by , 10-23-2012 at 12:12 AM (Zödra)
I was going to sleep for an afternoon nap and trying to WILD. I laid down and went to sleep, I started feeling vibrations and all, but then I didn't keep consciousness, I guess it would be a False Awakening from a WILD.

I got up from my bed and started walking around a weird, almost haunted looking house. My sister was here. We started looking around collecting clues, there was one in the giant chandelier. It said how to explode. very weird. It had a location that the information was supposed to be at, I followed it with my sister (extremely strange). There was a table that had glasses on it, a bigger glasses over a little glasses. My sister picked up one of the bigger glasses and there was a tiny piece of tinfoil that said five cent piece. my sister put it back and we went our separate ways. I floated over to my room (I was no longer walking) I got on my laptop and started talking to people on DV, Some people are posting pictures of dragons. I look at one and then get off the computer. My other sister walks in and tells me to turn the lights on. I float off of my bed and get the light switch, and then I try to float to the other one and I can't reach. It feels exactly like it does when i am trying and failing at flying in LDs.
"Just stand up and pull the switch!" she says, but I am determined. I close my eyes and imagine myself being lifted up in the air. After I do this I can fly with ease. I start questioning things, my biggest question is Why can I fly? I start thinking a lot and think It is because I was trying to WILD, if you are close to dreaming, you can fly. I lay back down in bed and get on the computer. I open up another Dragon picture.

I am always pulled into computers/tvs/windows when I look in them. I am standing, looking at the dragon. The dragon is standing on a cloud and is 1000 ft tall easily, and 3000 feet wide. It is red and it's tail is the same as a scorpion's tail. It sees me and roars, an extremely loud noise that puts shivers down my spine. After it is done another tail looking thing shoots out of it's mouth and at me. I am standing very far away from it, but it seems like it is going to reach me. I look away from the laptop. My wife asks me what I am doing, I tell her that I am just on the computer, but I will still lay down next to her while she sleeps. I start looking at the computer again and wake up.

In some dreams I can fly, and in some it seems impossible. When I tried the last time in this dream it had such a real feel to it and felt exactly like when I normally can't fly, but I got over it. I think I should be able to always fly at will now.

    5. 3 LDs. ★★☆☆☆

      by , 10-20-2012 at 02:15 PM (Zödra)
I wake up and write some small things about my dreams down. Sad I missed another layer 0 clues (In my dream I was talking to people from this forum IRL, and they were giving me loads of advice on LDing). I then decided to chant (like a mantra, but a little different since it is changing almost every time I go to sleep) that I would RC next time something weird happens. I go back to bed.

      Lucid 1

I am talking to someone on the phone. I look up at the sky. There is a huge black hole in the sky (only way to describe this is a rip in dimensions like Bleach) I stare at it for a minute, and then it closes. The clouds go back to normal around it somehow. I think about it and decide to tell the person on the phone that no one even knows what causes the big black tears in the sky, but then I remember that I need to RC more. I look at my hands, they are blurry (my hands are never missing fingers, they are normally just short fingers or hard to see). I know that it is a dream now! I start to stabilize and start seeing everything become more stable, but then I try to feel more of what is on my body, and it feels like a blanket. I start feeling it more and I wake up.

I RC and write down part of my dream and go back to sleep.

      Lucid 2

I am walking down an alleyway similar to the last one in my dream. I suddenly become lucid. I check my hands and they look normal. Try to put my finger through my hand, but it is solid. I plug my nose and I can breath. (I was pretty aware at this point, so I knew I should RC first). I start stabilizing and can feel no wind, which was going to be my way to fly. I finish stabilizing.
I look around at the landscape. I am behind a school. There is a tree with low hanging fruit about 20 feet up. I am not great at flying, but I decide to fly. I run backwards a bit and feel some wind, I try to use that to give myself an idea how to fly. I try jumping, but fall on my back (this unstabilizes me for a bit). My sister walks up and asks me what I am doing. I reply that I am going to fly, but pay no attention to her because she is a DC. The dream fades.

I wake up, RC, write down a few things and go back to sleep.

      Lucid 3
I am in about the same place. I suddenly think Reality check! I perform a reality check and wake up.

I wake up in my old room, walk over to my old window and start writing down my dream. I spill some stuff on my hand, wash it off and then go back to bed.

I am about to merge onto the highway, I have been on this highway before. I know that it is a dream. I forgo RCing, and take my car up the on ramp, it just keeps going up and up and up. There is a random girl DC next to me and she tells me to slow down. I tell her I know what I am doing. I lift the car off the road and fly around for a while, going really high! I am pretty excited. I do an RC and stabilize, as I do this the car starts getting wobbly. I decide to jump out. I am not the best at flying, because my confidence in it was shaken a while ago, but I know I can do this (didn't realize that had I not flown I would have done task 2 ) The ground is flying towards me. It is just like skydiving (I was really high in the car). I look at a point and decide that I will stop there and look at the houses. I stop in the air suddenly. I flew around the city for a few minutes and then woke up.

    6. Lucid for the Competition. ★★★☆☆

      by , 10-16-2012 at 11:20 PM (Zödra)
I was in front of a mirror, as soon as I saw it I thought I don't want to look in that. Why am I afraid of looking in mirrors? This is a dream! I picked it up and saw myself with a full beard, which I thought was the funniest thing ever. I dropped the mirror and turned around, then I was standing in a backyard! I don't even think about doing a reality check, I know that it is a dream (I forgot that there are points for it ). I have run through my head what to do over and over, but it is very hazy. Stabilize! I barely remember. It doesn't seem like a dream at all, it seems like I am just being an idiot in real life and looking at my hands, listening, and trying to feel the breeze around me (I always forget to look around more to get that stabilized). I didn't look around to see my surroundings much, but there is nice grass under my feet, and I am in the back yard of a four story mansion. I can feel it now though, I am in the dream, I almost take off running, but what I wanted to do rushed into my mind. I have to summon something! I reach in my pocket, and nothing is in there, I knew that would happen, so I went on to plan B for summoning, I closed my eyes and thought Of course it is not in there, you left the Red Bull in your back pocket. I reach back there, and pull out a small Red Bull can, it is about three inches high. I pop the top and start drinking. It tastes a lot sweeter than Red Bull, I don't really like Red Bull anyways, but Red Bull gives you wings, and I want to fly.

It takes about thirty seconds to down the tiny can. I look around at the back yard and I am floating, I do not have wings though, but I am floating! I am above the four story house almost at the tops of the trees that I will be trying to go over in a second. One eye messes up and everything looks less clear from that eye. I completely forget how to stabilize
and wake into a false awakening into the same back yard that I was just in, but I am completely absorbed in the next dream.

    7. Crazy Town. Non Lucid - Flying

      by , 10-16-2012 at 11:19 PM (Zödra)
When I was younger I had some dream experiences that went with the laws of physics being thrown out the window. Very cool times and both of them I even questioned reality. Here are two old dreams:

      Age: 5

It was night in the city. There was a huge building that I wanted to climb and on the outside I could see these floating red things. I went into the building and it looked a lot like a Zelda dungeon, but I had never played Zelda before, it took me a long time to get to the floor with the red things floating outside, and when I got there I realized that it was red couches. 3 of them, with people filling all the seats but one. I float over to the couch and began talking to the people there. I don't remember the conversation, but it seemed amazing. Very good time, but then I flew down to the ground and attempted to get back up to the couches from inside the building again. I make it back up after a long amount of time, but it seems like the distance from the building is farther and the ground farther, and like such a long time since I first flew. I started thinking that this might be a dream, but they told me to fly to them and I took a leap of faith (like a little Boss) (I was very much in control at this time, before it seemed like I was just doing the first thing that popped into my head, now I was thinking). I woke up when I hit the couch.

      age: 14

I was standing on a building next to my friend (he is my brother in law now) and my sister was telling me how awesome he was because he could do this. She pointed to him and he jumped in the air and floated away. "I can do that!" I said, and jumped and floated away. I started flying everywhere, but the more I landed, the harder it was to get in the sky, at first I had to jump, then double jump, and then I had to jump off of high heights. I flew into my window and walked to the stairs, 19 stairs. I knew that if I jumped I would be able to fly, but my rational side of my brain started working. That was a dream that you were flying, you woke up now and you can't fly. you'll kill yourself. then the other side of my brain I have been flying all day, I haven't woken up yet. I stared at the stairs, not knowing if it was a dream or not until I woke up.

      notes:
I was very much into dreams at this point, telling a lot of people about my dreams, but I had never heard of them before, so I didn't know about them at this time. The stairs that I was staring at I can imagine and looked exactly like my parents actual stairs that they still have, so there was nothing there to give me the idea I was in a dream. I did not know what a reality check was. Had I realized I was in a dream, I might have been an oneironaut sooner in life.

      age: 16

I was going to my friend's house for a party (the same one from the story above), which was really weird since he hated large groups at the time. It was an entire block party and I was going around socializing when all of the sudden it clicks that "I can fly!" I flew around for a while really high, then went back to the party hoping to talk to some gals. (this was right before I started liking my wife). As I landed I did a bunch of flips accidentally before I hit the ground. These flips alerted me to the fact that I was only wearing boxers and I was in the middle of a party. I didn't really care about the embarrassment, but I spent the remainder of the dream looking for clothes.

      by , 10-03-2012 at 03:01 AM (Zödra)
This is a very old dream, but is one of my favorites because it was very vivid and twilight zone-ish

I was in my parents house and we were talking about how the world outside was ending. We were talking about Revelation (from the bible) and about what was going crazy outside. They told me to go outside and see for myself. I walked outside and saw a huge orb in the sky. It took me a while to get my bearings. It was the earth, I stopped and stared at it.

If I am seeing earth, then where am I? I thought. I looked at it for a long time and then I kept staring at it for the rest of the dream.

    9. Fail. Non lucid

      by , 10-02-2012 at 09:50 PM (Zödra)
Now this is two dreams, but they combine into one, and I wouldn't have considered it two dreams except I woke up and wrote part of it in my DJ next to my bed and then I went back to sleep.

I was with my family watching Lord of the Rings. It looked nothing like any of them, but if I had to guess I would guess it was The Two Towers, since their were wargs in it. I was watching the television, but as it always does, I kind of jump into the television. However, instead of taking control of a character like I normally do, I just watched it in third person. Not much to say about the fight, it wasn't in Middle Earth, it was actually in a neighborhood. I zoomed out of the TV and back into my parents house, I automatically knew that they were filming right outside.

I went out and started talking to a Gondorian, he was complaining about how much it hurts to put his armor on, and how much it hurts when the fake Warg bites him. They packed up and left, leaving me in a backyard, but it was the dark red of night falling. I knew I should go inside, but I didn't really think about it. It became night and a Wolf came around the corner (I do not know if it was a Werewolf, but I could have been, I was thinking about the task of this month right before I went to bed). It jumped at me and I kicked it, I snapped its teeth at my arm and I snapped my hand back, the wolf started moving in slow motion, or I just started thinking in fast motion, because I was moving way faster, I pulled my entire arm out of the way of the mouth, but I could feel the teeth with my hand as the jaws closed and barely missed. He jumped at my again and I grabbed his head and threw him away. I walked back home.

This was a pretty intense battle, and I became very vivid from this point on, and I had almost my entire brain there. Normally fighting a dog would seem weird, but my occupation for the past couple of years has led me to fight about 50 dogs without a weapon in people's back yards. I haven't been bitten yet.

I crawled in my parents doggy door and start talking to some people inside. somehow I get back outside and I try to crawl back in again, but the door is way too small, and my dad tells me not to. I get back inside on the computer. I am showing people quotes from Lord of the Rings off of IMDB
"Brandon, get off the computer." I look at the time, it reads 6:59.
"I have to leave to work at seven, so I'll be off in a minute." I reply.
"Sure you will." He says, in a knowing voice that makes me look at the clock again 7:05 it reads.
"That is weird! It said 6:59 one second ago!" I know I have to get to work, so I woke up.

When I wake up, it was 6:44. I was really mad about that, because I had 10 more minutes to sleep, and I had just done a reality check that failed! It also didn't feel like waking up normally feels like, it felt like I woke myself up.

    10. Thank You ★☆☆☆☆

      by , 09-25-2012 at 07:09 PM (Zödra)
So I spent the better part of yesterday on this site, hoping that it would cause me to have another lucid dream and Poof! it worked.

I was in the middle of a pretty fun dream watching Goku fight Boromir and all of a sudden I awake in my bed. I get up and start walking to the closet and notice that my teeth are loose, and I grab one and it just falls out. Another one falls out a second later and I automatically think This is a common thing that happens to people in dreams! I must be dreaming! I look at my hands and lo and behold, they are all messed up. I start walking to the other side of the room and think about stabilizing myself more to the dream, but then think better of it for some reason and just walk over to my door, as I open it I wake up.

I was pretty frustrated, I have had four lucid dreams that I just thought that it seemed like a stupid idea to stabilize myself while I was in them. Pretty lame dream, but it was still lucid, and I really love false awakenings since I almost always become lucid after them.

This is the dream that made me decide to pick up lucid dreaming, I had not ever tried any methods for lucid dreaming except one time before a year earlier.

I am on a trip away from home, the dessert around me as dry as anything and the only thing that I can think of is this girl that has grown attached to me. She is short and nice, but very shy, I did not get a name because she didn't talk much. The city around reminds me mostly of Favela (like in modern Warfare, and real life). It seemed like I was in the dream for about a week, so I have no idea how long this actually lasted.

Me and this girl are trying to get away from the group so that we can talk and start going around this abandoned building. We are exploring empty corridors and just having a good time. The rest of the group caught up to us with some sort of tour guide and I stopped paying attention to the girl for one second and she ran away because there were too many people. I chased her down and that is when things changed in my mind.

I haven't followed a girl like this for a while, but she seems awesome. Why haven't I been going after girls? I thought. Wait! I am married, that is why I shouldn't be looking for a girlfriend. Then this must be a dream! I stopped and looked around. There were two roads ahead of me, one that the girl just took on the left, and an identical one on the right (everything still seems like Favela)
I shouldn't chase the girl down now that I remembered that I am married, I should go the other way. I turned right.

I jump over a fence after the turn and find myself in a backyard, the grass is perfectly green, the houses seem to be made of mud, but they are shining somehow, everything is extremely vivid. In the back yard there is a Rose, it was the most beautiful plant I have ever seen. The stem and leaves were the darkest black and the rose the brightest red. It was perfectly centered in the square backyard, and I looked at the house next to me as well. Every backyard had the same layout with the same rose in both directions, and it seemed to go on to infinity.

I felt myself waking. It had been forever since I had read about dreams, I couldn't remember what to do to stay in a dream. I thought maybe spinning was one so I started spinning very slowly, but as I did an old man came up to me from the front yard.

"You must be like the flower if you wish to stay" He said, and then went back the way he came. I stopped spinning and looked at the beautiful flower again. Then I awoke.
