Lucid Dream, late morning on Monday, October 24th, 2016: I am sitting in the office of my parents' church. Their home is directly next door. I am browsing the internet for anything to catch my interest, mostly videos. The building is not a church (dream plot), but is instead the neighbors' home. They are a young couple with no children. The man enters behind me, telling me that they are going swimming. "I'll go too," I say, shutting my laptop and leaving the desk. At a nearby table, I find an assortment of Lego minifigures. I take one and begin to put scuba gear on it, this seeming like a perfectly normal way to prepare for a swim. The man starts to remind me not to forget to give it a snorkel piece, but stops when he sees I have already done this. As we walk to the door to go outside I happen to glance at a clock, which shows something like '38:xx' where the second number is quickly rising. I interpret this to mean a little over half-past midnight (dream logic ). Concerned, I tell the couple, "I had no idea it was so late! I can't go swimming with you." They try to excuse it, saying my parents won't care, but I return to the office to get my computer. In the darkness, I gather up my stuff and leave the Lego man I had carried with me. While walking back to the front door, I feel that there's something off about the past few minutes and take a moment to look at my left hand. Seven fingers. "I see. So this is a dream," I think, as I step out the door into early morning sunshine. "Yeah..." The house has become the old Florida home my family lived in years ago. I am standing on the old porch, with the old yard in front of me and the old neighborhood beyond that. No longer carrying anything, I notice I am wearing a pair of loose, unbuttoned jeans and a rather heavy jacket. There isn't a shirt underneath. Feeling rather warm, I glance around as I begin to unzip the jacket. I want to strip and lay in the grassy yard. As I'm moving to do this, the quiet neighborhood is suddenly filled with people. Driving, working, walking in and out of houses. The sudden change throws me off, and I decide against undressing. Standing up from my crouching position in the grass, I stumble a bit as I find my balance. No longer certain that I am dreaming, I press some fingers into my left palm. With a bit of effort they slide through, peaking out the back of my hand. "Definitely still dreaming," I think to myself. Looking around, I see the houses and people, the green grass and blue sky... I find myself awake in bed, eyes still closed, listening to the echo of my own breathing inside my head. As soon as I consciously notice this, my breaths become controlled and quiet. A slight smile curls my lips. Spoiler for Notes: My parents currently live next door to their church, as my father is the pastor there. There are few close neighbors out there in the country. I saw only a bit of the woman of the couple, when explaining I wouldn't be joining them for swimming. In fact, I hardly looked at either of them. Evaluation of lucidity and vividity: I would probably rate both points on the lower end of the scale. My lucidity went not much further than "I am dreaming", with relatively low self awareness and dream awareness beyond this.Vividity, while greater than my usual nLD, was not substantial. This was my first lucid experience in something like a few months. I am happy, and feel I am finally making a successful return to lucid dreaming.
On the night of October 23, 2016, I had my first lucid dream! It went like: I was with my homeroom class on a train station, then a bus came. We all went on it and everyone else besides me had their winter coats on. We went on the bus, then a couple dream minutes later, we were on top of snowy mountain, but I wasn't exactly sure what mountain it was. There were cardboard walls everywhere, and one of them had a paper with grades on it. I started to walk to it and everyone else was trying to see it too, so I couldn't get to the paper. Then, I realized I need my winter jacket! So, I walked a couple steps and I looked down and saw I had my winter jacket on! Then I realized I was dreaming!! I jumped up in the air, trying to fly, but it didn't work at first so instead I told my friend, "I'm dreaming!" She said, "Yeah, I know." Then I woke up.
