    1. Super Mario Galaxy (again)

      by , 08-04-2010 at 10:14 PM (Hidden's Dream Journal)
Wow, I haven't posted in a long time.

There were a bunch of little planets clustered together (like in Super Mario Galaxy). I jumped between them and eventually came to a larger planet with lava an platforms. I had to be careful not to move from the position I was in (the same position I'd fallen asleep in) so that I wouldn't break out of my trance.

This is like my 4th dream about SMG in the past two nights. >.>
    2. Big Fish 8-4-10

      by , 08-04-2010 at 10:05 PM
In the dream I was outside a military base, walking along the side of a lake or large pond. I stepped out onto this little wooden area that was several feet above the water. From there I saw this huge fish. It was probably large enough to swallow me whole. It wasnt a shark or catfish. It looked more like a gold fish but it wasnt golden. It remember it was dark but had different colours. It was swimming around and jumping out of the water, and it spoke, but I dont remember what it said. There was also another creature there, a manatee or something. I enjoyed watching the massive fish.

    3. Fragments: 8.4.2010

by , 08-04-2010 at 06:47 PM (The Inner Crazy of Mr Speesh)
      Lucid: Nope
      Dream Aids: Calea Zacatechichi, Melatonin
      Vividness: Not great

      Dreamsign
      Lucidity

For dream memories that are just too vague, I think I'll keep them in one entry per night.

Fragment 1: I vaguely remember being at work and serving this obnoxious lady. Also one of my roommates was working there with me even though in waking life he works elsewhere.

Fragment 2: I was down south at home and found out that Frank Zappa was giving three concerts on the East Coast. I guess apparently he had come back from the dead to play a few shows. I was bummed because I couldn't make it to any of them.

    4. Pregnancies and Weird Cars

      by , 08-04-2010 at 06:42 PM
In the first dream I was pregnant, and usually in a dream this would cause the people around me to be upset since I am not married or of an age to be pregnant yet, but apparently i was old enough and married to a guy who i had only talked to online. After telling my whole family about my good news, i realized i had never seen my husband, and never would for some reason. I then had to face the reality of being a single parent.

I don't remember much about the second dream I had, and I know there were some emotions in there but I cant remember what they were...I was walking to a purple square shaped car with my mom to go home from something, and when we got in it turned into this sort of table thing...it's hard to explain but i was across from my mom and facing her and my mom was driving so i was facing backwards and she was facing forward so she could drive. i remember being worried about how safely my mom was driving since we were having a conversation and she was looking at me...

It seems like almost every element of these dreams came from something that happened in my day..for example that day i was babysitting for a woman who was in the hospital delivering her baby. I guess this just shows how fantastic my imagination is if i cant create original dreams :/

    5. Highest highs and lowest lows.

by , 08-04-2010 at 04:28 PM (The Mind is Power; My Dream Journal)
Two days ago I had my best night of dreaming in my life, 5 dreams (all in depth) recalled in one night.

Last night I couldn't recall much of anything. The only thing I remember was visiting my friends bands myspace and listening to some new song they put on there.

      Wish me luck.

    6. Oceans, Resturants, and Lucidity!

      Commentary and Awake
      Dream (Non-Lucid)
      Lucid Dream

Last night was fairly restless. I attempted to do a WILD around 3:30, but failed and couldn't get back to sleep. Quote from my WILD-1 workbook:

      Results: Success, sort of.

Meaning, I managed to have a lucid dream (YAY!) but it wasn't a WILD, and was lot later in the morning than I had intended. Plus, it was really really short, which was kind of a pain. So, here's how the night went: my alarm went of at 3:30, just like I set it to. I was already very close to if not awake, which makes me think I was pretty close to the end of my REM cycle. I got up, used the restroom, got a sip of water, and went back to bed. After that, I did my relaxation techniques, and settled down, ready to have a WILD. Here's where I hit the wall, like always: I couldn't get to sleep. For whatever reason, my body decided that I had woken it up, so it must be morning. I tried to stay mostly still for about an hour, and did a pretty good job, but there was no luck with entering the transition phase. At about 4:30, I decided to just try and get some sleep, however, I couldn't even do that! Part of the problem, I think, was that I was hungry, so that very well may have kept me from being able to sleep, among other things. I finally just got up, walked around for about half of an hour, got a snack, and went back to bed a little before 6:00. After laying another twenty minutes or so, I fell asleep and had one or two very vivid but non-Lucid dreams, which I'll put in my DJ after I'm done with this. I woke up, rolled over, and went to sleep again.

There was no transition, no SP that I recall, and I'm not sure if I lost consciousness or not, which is what makes me doubt this was a WILD. Either way around it, the next thing I realized, I was in my bed again in the same position I had just been in. I did an RC (pinching my nose) and I could breathe! I did a couple of things to stabilize it after I woke up, but it still ended before I could do much of anything. Very exciting, though.
      Here's my actual dreams:

      1: Out for Dinner

This was the least interesting and least vivid of the dreams I had last night, but nonetheless, it was a dream. I am sitting in a restaurant, chatting with a bunch of my friends. For whatever reason, the restaurant reminds me of my third grade classroom, but it is decorated much differently. I feel somewhat excluded and not a part of the conversation, which makes me sad. Pretty much all the friends that I saw in real life a few days ago at a pool party were in a dream, particularly one of my better friends who is moving out of state very soon. I have a feeling that this dream was a lot longer than I'm making it out to be, but it was mostly talking, of which I don't really remember anything.

      2: Oceanfront Retreat

This dream was a lot more vivid and a lot more interesting than the last one. I'll try to recount as much of it as I can, though some of the order might overlap.
I'm in some sort of an oceanfront retreat. It's a cross between a couple of places I have been on vacation this summer. First thing I can remember, I'm in some sort of large wooden building. I get the feeling that there isn't really air conditioning or much else like that, and it's very open to the outside. I decide to go walk to the beach. First thing I notice, the waves are ridiculously high- I swear, they have to be a good 20 or 30 feet. They are all a perfect blue with a white crest, really beautiful and scary at the same time. I remember the ocean is, though more rough than probably possible, extremely clear and detailed. It's kind of interesting, because one of the techniques I was using to relax was imagining floating on the ocean.

Anyways, even though the waves were so huge, I know me and all the other people watching are safe, because all of the buildings and the people are on a sort of bluff (small cliff), out of the ocean's reach. I find myself sitting on some wooden stairs leading down to sea level, next to an old friend and someone else that I didn't know. The old friend, C, is crying, and I ask her what's wrong. She says that she doesn't know me and doesn't want to talk about it, so I just try and comfort her instead. I find it a little weird that she doesn't recognize me, until I remember that I'm somewhat in disguise. Just then, I realize that C's friend is really attractive, so I start to talk to her. One thing leads to another... etc. I feel a little bad, though, that I'm ignoring C when she's as sad as she is, but I quickly forget about it.

Next 'scene' in the same setting, a group of people are going out into the rough waves. I overhear them saying that they have to go save the fish. They're wearing bright orange life jackets, some sort of breathing apparatus, and a lot of other safety equipment. When they go into the water, however, the waves suddenly die off, leaving a much calmer, clear ocean. I go out to see what they're doing and maybe help, and I see a couple of them trying to fix a buoy. Somehow, I also find myself just wandering around the streets and alleys of the resort, seeing a couple of people I know, but mostly strangers.

      3: Home (First Lucid)

I fall asleep laying on my stomach, which is really weird for me, because I almost always sleep on my back. It felt comfortable at the time, though. I am in my bed, in the same position I fell asleep in. I know that I've been trying to WILD most of the night, so I try to do a reality check by pinching my nose and breathing. I can breathe, and so realize I'm dreaming! I then try to get out of bed, which is a real struggle. I feel as if I'm peeling myself out of my body. Once I finally manage to stand up, I feel no more resistance. I don't look back, though I wish I did to see if my physical body was still there. I go out into the hallway outside my room. I'm a little afraid I'm going to lose lucidity, so I spin around a couple of times to try and stabilize my dream. Everything in my house is a lot darker than it should be, saying this was around 6:30 in the morning. I walk downstairs to my front door, trying to imagine that it is bright outside. I open my door, but no luck: it's still dark. I try to force things to brighten up, which is when I wake up.

So, pretty interesting night. I hope that's the first lucid of many to come!

    7. Wave 6: Back on track

      by , 08-04-2010 at 02:14 PM (The Meerkat's Lair)
As I said yesterday, i got a shot of bad luck. But its gone now. I complete my quota of a dream a night and started a new (hopefully longer) win streak. I didnt have a DILD again since mys first entry, but I think it takes months for some ppl to get their 1rst ones so im not worried.

The dream: Im at some kind of covent. You know these places girls go with nuns? Thats it, but not religious at all. There was a competition or task where they were seperated into groups of 2 or 3 and had to swallow the biggest thing possible before throwing it back up. Gross. There were some guys too, including Kyan. All wearing headbands or handkerchiefs with the Leucan logo (big ladybug). They all talked about their projects and demonsrated their act. The dudes were talking about an atomic whale (?) but I didnt see them throw up.

As for me, im not playing a specific character, but it certainly isnt myself. My team does fairly well, but a team of 2 girls is doing very bad because she cant get her item back up (puppet). A man who appears to be in charge is very mad. The blame is all put on her (who is hot by the way) and her teammate is pissed. Valerie is her name, I remember. I dont remember the name of her teammate though, but both of theyre faces I see very clearly.
Later, they both sit on a counter in the kitchen. The counter is brown and grey and square shaped all around the kitchen. I am Valerie at this point. She tells Vaerie that if she wants to marry a dentist, she has to stop messing up stuff. Her CV has to be clean. Then she leaves. A piece of bread is next to me and a knife is on the sink. I pick the knife and eat a bite of bread directly off the knife.

This is one of the clearest dreams I had since joining. My recall is improving greatly. Before, I would remember about a dream in a month or two. Now im getting close to 2 dreams per night. Getting closer to my goals, and it feels great.

Dream fragment: Im at what appears to be at another contest, this time at school. There are a lot of kids and also teachers watching a stage with a bench at the front. Kids go on the stage to take turns singing a song. They each have a part to sing. For some reason, I go sit on the bench. Now this is the part that was extremely vivid for me. The first girl is standing in front of the bench but decides to move to the right, where i am sitting. I slide on my butt while she keeps getting closer to me until I am at the end of the bench. I get up and she starts singing in a low and fragile voice. She looks at me like shes saying: Help! I forgot the lyrics! I say out loud: I think she has a blank memory. Thats all I remember.

When I Get That Feelin'... (WILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I got up for a while after that last one, but I was still shattered so I hit the hay once more.

I got three separate blasts of sleep paralysis right after each other. This time, I was far more aware of what was going on than before. The first two came over me like a switch had been flicked and my body had shut down. However I was still aware of my breathing, which suddenly became quite difficult. It felt like I was breathing with my stomach rather than my chest. That, combined with trying too hard to visualise a dream scene and jump in early caused the first two SP episodes to end. On the third, I just let it happen on its own. I heard people talking around me about betting on the Grand National. It sounded like I was in a bookies. I "spoke", saying I'd placed a £500 bet on the horse that won, and a cheer erupted all around me. It was a glorious sound, so I rewound and did it again.
"I bet £500 on the winning horse!"
A louder cheer, and I was in. Sure enough, I was in the bookies round the corner from my house, which I had actually been in on the day of the Grand National. I looked around at the collection of people standing around, and spotted my girlfriend. We spent the next 15 minutes getting it on. When I woke up I tried to DEILD for round two, but sadly no luck!

      No Driver! (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I just remembered this bad boy when I was in a car with a few mates earlier. I felt compelled to tell them about it, naturally they thought I was weird!

I was in the back seat of a car, behind the driver's seat. It was driving along a country road on a sunny day, passing plenty of large trees along the roadside. I glanced into the front seat. There was no driver! I was the only person in the car, which was going completely by itself. Of course I became lucid immediately. I was pretty damn aware here, I couldn't have let that dreamsign slide even if I wanted to.
"So obvious," I thought, as I leant into the front seat. I was in the mood for some minor destruction, so I grabbed the wheel and spun it hard to the left. The car veered off the road and hit a protruding root of a large tree, causing it to flip.
      That's the last I remember.

      Breaking the Spell (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This is the only fragment I can remember from a night which was absolutely full of dreams.

I had made an enemy of an evil wizard. He put me under some kind of spell which basically put me in a dream state- I think to make me less of a danger to him. I was running up a snowy path to the wizard's castle, when I thought,
"Something just doesn't seem right about this." I did a hand reality check and
realised I was dreaming. However, I didn't go to the next level and work out that the world outside this dream was still another dream. When I stopped what I was doing and wondered if this was the wizard's doing, his face appeared in front of me in a spinning, levitating mirror. It looked at me intently, and seemed pleased with me. Then I woke up back into the original dream level.

      Willful Ignorance (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      Just a fragment.

I was in Hawaii, for some reason, looking over a hill at the top of the road I was on. On the other side of the hill was a raging wall of fire taller than my house. I walked curiously up the hill to get a better view, but by the time I got to the top, the wall of fire had changed to a line of trees with orange leaves, as if it was autumn. However they were evergreen trees, which struck me as odd. My mum came up beside me, and we started talking about lucid dreaming while heading towards the trees.
"What if this is a dream right now?" She said.
"It's not though, but the trick is to ask yourself that when you're actually dreaming," I replied without even checking.
"No really," she went on. "This is a dream."
"Nah, it's not really," I said.

      What an r-tard.

      by , 08-04-2010 at 08:43 AM
Ugh, haven't been feeling too well and recall/motivation has been bad... hence the lack of updates. Here's some stuff though.

      #956:
      Date: August 2nd, 2010
      Length: 3 minutes

I begin in a large throne room. It is fairly plain, save for the large throne in its center. Apparently, I am part of the royal family of whatever kingdom I'm in, and heir to the throne which has just been vacated. I'm not quite sure I'm actually becoming king though -- first, it seems that I have to choose one of my siblings for some role (maybe king? my memory is unclear, but it was important -- i'll just refer to it as "the role"). In the dream, I have one older brother, the eldest, and a (supposedly) younger sister and brother.

As the dream starts, I'm speaking with my older brother. He has short hair, and a sort of sadistic/maniacal look, but for some reason I trust him, and at first I decide that he will take up the role. He walks away, and I soon find myself strolling through a large garden outside. Here I meet my sister, who starts discussing the role with me. I think she could fly, and may have helped me fly as well. After a while, she explains that my older brother is more treacherous than he seems, and she has heard he's planning to act against me. I believe this, and start to reconsider my decision to choose him for the role.

After that conversation, I end up walking on some system of catwalks, accompanied by my younger brother. He has dark, longish hair, and a black beard/goatee. He explains to me that my older brother has a plan to assassinate me tonight, and then take power. I thank him for telling me, and start thinking I should choose him for the role. I head back to the throne room, which I find ablaze, a fire having apparently been set by my older brother. He appears nearby, and it seems he knows I've found out his plan. Unfortunately, I don't really remember what happened afterward.

      Some fragments:

      - A dream where I was asleep in a room, and had a sort of OOBE, going into a room where my parents were and seeing them talking. For some reason, I was afraid they would "see me" somehow, and so I rushed back to my body in my room.

      - A dream about being stuck in an elevator with some girl. There was some kind of horror-movie aspects to it. The girl had a laptop.

      - A dream about DV member Queen Zukin starting a sort of research project on the Everyman sleep schedule, and PMing various people about it.

      Short fragment about dreams (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I got three dreams tonight. I went to bed pretty late. One lucid tonight.

      Second:

This was a long dream, however, before recording this I started to meditate for MILD and become lucid in the next dream (worked efficiently) but I lost most of this previous dream. I have the last scenery of the dream:

      - I remember the numbers 245.3 and 130.
      - Working indoors with a few DC about dreams.
      - I was confronting a female DC due something undone.

      Missed dream signs:

      - Talking about dreams within a dream.

What I would have done if lucid:

      - Create a brainstorm session for ideas about how to find my inner sactuary. I was sure someone knew.

      Vividness: Not very

      Dreamsign
      Lucidity

Another fragment unfortunately, but I'll take whatever I can get. I was driving up Main Street in my car at night, when all of a sudden after making a wrong turn it was daylight and I was in a completely exotic area. It almost looked like a walking tour of the jungle or something.

After reaching the top a bunch of extended family members I haven't seen in a while were there waiting for me. We started chatting about something but I can't remember what exactly, the memory fades after that.

It seems that in addition to seeing people I don't see very often in dreams, there are some contextual dreamsigns as well. The first highlight in this dream has to do with sudden and drastic changes in setting. This happens to me fairly often, I'll be in one setting and suddenly after one minor action will find myself in a completely different one. The other one I can think of right now is minor changes in a familiar setting. Last time I became lucid it was because I was in my own apartment, but all of the furniture was mixed up and put together differently. When something gets created from my memory it seems to come out very inverted.
