    1. Finding Myself

by , 09-11-2016 at 04:50 PM (Exploring My Mind)
More radio silence for an entirely different reason this time around. These past handful of days, I've been recalling little fragments. Although they were little, however, they held important significance. Each one dealt with a pretty symbolic subject matter corresponding to stuff that's been going on in my life lately. A shame more detail for them wasn't recalled.
Which leads me to how things have been IRL these past few days. Lately, I've been undergoing a change in attitude. It was a busy week for me and my family, as we had my aunt and cousin over and we never see them since we moved, so we did a lot of stuff. One thing of note we did was go to the beach.
The beach holds a lot of meaning to me, when it comes to lucid dreaming anyways. First and foremost, it's a relaxing place. Everything about it; the sounds, the breeze, the vastness of it all. It helps that we went at dusk. It also holds meaning due to my use of it in my lucid dreaming story Dream Gazers, as a meet-up place for the protagonists' shared lucid dreams. I find myself thinking about lucid dreaming a lot whenever I go to the beach anymore, and sometimes it can bring on strong, vivid dreams. In this case, it didn't, but that's okay.
Since that night at the beach, I've sort of been re-analyzing my path in life and what I'm doing, where I'm going, what I want to do now. My life got turned upside down last year, and I've been scrambling to piece it together since then, barely able to grasp hold of something concrete. It's just difficult, sometimes, figuring yourself out, y'know? I've had to re-adjust all my expectations, all my feelings, all my views after losing someone special, and now, I think I'm starting to gain a foothold.
Multiple plans of action have been laid out before me, and in thinking hard about these things, I've felt a lot more happy and clear headed these past few days than I have in a while. I've been doing my standard LDing practices in the course of that time, but I haven't been 100% going at it, as I've busied my mind so much with the future. In any case, that's done nothing to throw me off the track, and I'm thankful for it. To cap all of these thoughts up, I remembered (and wrote down) a non-lucid this morning, with moderate detail. ^^
I was visiting my friend's house (call him A) and hanging out with the girl (K) from my prior dream (I'm starting to think she may be a dream sign) where she asked me to that dance. IRL this girl is A's niece, and I'm good friends with both of them. Strangely, A appeared to be absent. K said he was upstairs, but while we hung out down in the kitchen eating breakfast, he was no where to be seen, and we certainly couldn't hear him upstairs. What was strange about the setting of this dream was that it was shot like a movie. I could see myself in third person, and multiple dramatic effects and music scores would play when certain things happened. At one point later in the dream, I rushed back into the house, my mom and aunt following closely behind me. We were running from something outside, but I don't recall what it was, or if we even knew what it was.
Also later on in the dream, K appeared on the news. Nothing bad had happened, thankfully, but I don't remember why she was on the news or what they were talking about, yet she was sitting right across from me still. She looked at the TV with an amused expression, and we resumed our daily activities.

So that's been me these past few days. Life's just being life.
    2. Nuclear bomb fail.

I found myself in a very active community, everyone knew everyone else, literally and took the time to interact with each other. It was very friendly. The news was on and reporting that war had broken out overseas. I was in a high rise block of flats and as is the way of dreams, I could see the war overseas from the window. All of a sudden I saw a missile launched and with a feeling of complete dread - not terror as you would imagine - I watched it as it soared up into the air, then it turned and made a B line towards the building I was in. I held my breath and closed my eyes as it hit the building and waited for the explosion. There was none. However as I opened my eyes to assess the situation, I saw the destruction you'd expect from a nuclear explosion. I found myself breaking into cars to steal for transport, some of the cars I was trying to break into were not like the cars we know of and are used to. They were operated and even started differently and try as I might, I couldn't figure out how to get them started. There was an incident were someone was trying to hurt my dogs and steal the food we had, but I don't remember the details.

I have had recurring dreams throughout my life about nuclear war/bombs, the type of dreams that carry over into waking life for a moment or two, but not enough or as often to use them as dream signs.

For some reason, I can't find the rest of the dream I put down on paper, so that's all I have for now, sorry.

    3. Psych, It Has a New Name!

by , 10-29-2011 at 04:18 PM (Dreams of a Hooded Figure (and his trusty sidekick 8))
(I've been watching Psych lately, so this remined me of it, mailny because Gus was there and so was his ex-girlfriend Ruby)
(I guess I was Shawn, but It was first person, and no one said my name, so I wasn't sure)

I was in the gym Lobby. I suspected we were solving a mystery, Gus was beside me and a girl, I didn't (and still don't) know who she was, but she looked familiar (I think she might have been 8, the DC from my other dreams, not 8 years old). We walked by the desk (empty, but messy) and the smoothie bar (I like smoothies). We went past the rooms where people hit the tennis ball on the wall and try to get it over and over, everything looked like it did in the gym my dad used to go to (which means there really was a smoothie bar) but it was all empty. We sat on a bench, the only thing that was off about the place was the round window leading to the next room behind us (It was supposed to be a mirror, I didn't think about that until after).

"So she's in here?" I turned to Gus, he nodded.

"Be careful, she's listening to music," said the girl. (Wow, she might kill me! *sarcasm*)

I went in, but Gus went ahead, the girl stayed behind. Gus went around a beam in the middle of the room, but I stood right infront of it, observing. There was a large dent in it about the size of my head. I grabbed the inside and lifted my self up, then went back to the ground (I've been climbing trees a lot lately, I guess I was still thinking about it). I walked over to Gus and saw that he was talking to Ruby on a treadmill. She was the one we were after I guess. I pulled Gus away.

"Dude, let's go to the gift shop," I said.

      "Okay," he said

We pulled Ruby along and I stopped, "Wait a minute, I used to go to this gym!" I said, "It used to be called, (I said the correct name but I forget it now)"

Ruby nodded and pointed at a TV with the old logo on it. (Odd enough that they would keep it there) I got confused, but we continued on to the gft shop. When we got there I noticed a bunch of rolled up temper-pedic matresses against one wall. The girl behind the counter was the one we were with earlier. There were action figures of what 70's-80's band names inspired on the counter. I looked to my right and this girl from real life was standing with her sister (I'll call her Half (it sound cool huh?) and her sister Half's sister "Half's sister (creative, I know....)) I looked at Half then quickly looked away. She picked up one of the figure's from the desk and observed it. I looked back at her and she said something along the lines of:

"Well, I guess I should buy this as a preasnt in case I can't aford anything else" (what an odd choice for a preasant)
I looked at he with an odd smile, (her sister hadc no real importance in the dream, she just was there in the background) she smiled back. We walked away and out the door, and everything faded.
