      I remember "waking up" in bed. Light from morning is coming in the window. As I get out of the covers I notice that all my fingernails are bare except my thumb, even though I painted them just last night. I think to myself that this is really odd, but I don't think to RC because I believe the paint got rubbed off on the covers. Dangit..

    3. Water Fontain / Creepin' / Damn Cieling

      by , 03-01-2015 at 12:42 AM (The Kestrel's Dreams)
      February 28, 2015

      Water Fountain Woes

      I was at the math/science center I went to in High School. I walked past a water fountain that wasn't turning off. It was always on, so I pulled it out of the wall to try to fix it. But I pulled it too hard and disconnected it from the water intake thingy. I hooked it back up and the water kept coming. I eventually gave up trying to fix it, and got a drink from it before leaving.

      Creepin'

      I was visiting the admissions adviser for my grad program, but I was being a super creeper and like walking around her back yard. The neighborhood seemed familiar to me, as if I've been there before. I could see inside the house but I never went inside. I noticed that the snow was all melting and it was getting warmer, so I assumed spring was coming very soon. When I got around to the front of the house again, I saw some of my students playing by the street. I went to talk to them and they got really excited and wanted to show me their homes.

      Ceiling Troubles

      I was at home, holding my girl cat and snuggling her. The whole room seemed larger than IWL, and a LOT cleaner looking and brighter. My dad came into the room from the backyard, and said, "Gotta feed mah CATS!!" When the cats went to eat, I realized my old dog was in the room as well. She was flopping as she tried to get up to get to the food. My dad came over and nudged her a little to help her up. She's been gone for almost 5 years now, so I was very confused until I realized it was a dream. oh right. I'm at Zukin's asleep on her floor right now. "I'm dreaming." I said, looking at my hands, which oddly enough looked completely normal. I still knew I was dreaming, though. My dad looked up and said, "What? You're crazy."

      I ignored him and went to my bedroom. I looked up and decided to use the ceiling as a portal. I jumped up and expected to go through the ceiling into another land, but ended up smashing into it, making a hole and getting stuck in it. I looked around the attic and made the hole bigger by smashing pieces away, until I could look down at my dad, who was standing there looking up at me. "WTF are you doing Kestrel...?"

      "Oh, just hanging around."

      Me and my dream humor. Then I woke up.

    4. Overcharging my body for Astral Projection and failing

      Overcharging my body for Astral Projection. (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM Astral Separation Attempt Astral

      Well, this was a weird experience.

      Yesterday around 2am I decided to astral travel. I wanted to project, but I wanted to super charge my astral body to be able to go as high and farther as possible. I could hear a slight buzzing on my ears (usual thing) and I focused instead of just coming out, to concentrate the energy and focus all the energy around my entire body. The buzzing got so loud, that it was as intense as if I had huge speakers. I could not hear other noise around, and there was plenty of background noise from cars, etc.

      From here, my body got completely paralyzed (I am familiar with it of course, completely normal) and then is when I wanted to go out, but then, the energy was so intense that my entire hands were hurting me huge time… not just the fingers, but the entire hands, both of them.

      I had to break the trance because due the pain I was not going to be able to come out, and actually took me a while to be able to move my body again, so it could have been a super awesome projection because I had more energy than ever.

      Could it be so much energy that my dense body could not tolerate it? What are your thoughts? I think this is what happened!

    5. First Lucid Attempt

      by , 07-16-2014 at 07:42 AM
      Non-lucid
      Lucid

      First dream I had during the night was a dream of me scrolling the DV forums (wish I did a RC then) and after that I woke up

      Second dream, I went roller skating and saw a guy I know from school in it, one thing I noticed was that I was EXTREMELY short as well. Somewhere in the dream I went off with some random guy with long sandy blond hair, talking about something whilst walking amongst beams and ropes. During our walk, he managed to slip and fall and broke an arm.

      Next, I appeared in a massive house, I had a pet tiger who didn't look like a regular tiger, he was fat and round and had a head was the size of a boulder and he often growled like a dog. Somewhere during that part of the dream, I got upset over something (can't recall what) and I started seeing copies of the same person and I thought they were stalking me.

      Later in the dream, someone gave me a tour of a room where they head heaps of pets (from cats, dogs, a pelican (who was super aggressive). Next I was in my front room of my house with heaps of birds and somehow ended up in my room. I went to turn on a light and it lit up some kind of billboard hanging on my wall and I thought, that's not what the light is suppose to do, tried to do finger through hand, didn't go through, but as soon as I plugged my nose and breathed out

      "I'm dreaming!" I think. I stop myself, since I became a little excited and my dream started fading. I shouted "stabilize!" but the dream faded out

      Woke up in my bed, with my laptop sitting there (false awakening), thought that can't be right, did the nose plug again-

      - I became lucid again. But as soon as I plugged my nose and became lucid, I started falling into nowhere. I saw text flying past me, then it went grey and I just kept falling and falling, I tried to concentrate on teleporting somewhere by imagining a door to the Great Hall in Hogwarts, I even tried demanding vocally "take me to Hogwarts!", which didn't work so I thought what else can I do in a lucid, jokingly thought sex, then a sound of a voice message being activated intruded my dream with someone starting to talk about sex and I thought "I don't want this" and I felt myself losing lucidity as well so I forced myself awake.

      Woke up, and saw the remains of my dream being sucked away right before my eyes at the speed of light. It was a failed attempt at controlling, I'm still unsure if I dreamt of being lucid at one point, but I definitely became aware at some stage. The only good thing is that I managed to get a RC into my dream, which is something I'm quite proud of. It means I'm getting there . Will try again tonight.
    6. Challenges at a Mystic School

      Challenges at a Mystic School (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I was in some sort of mystical school with Spirits. It seems that there were some dangers, like I was undergoing through a challenge.

      I needed to go through some rooms and unlock some puzzles, summon some being, etc. The test was very hard and I failed to accomplish the challenges on time and it seems that we all were going to die.

      I went outside and they had a huge pool made out of something gross looking. The pool had small pools within, with some acid-poisonous liquid. People where laying down in the green pools and slowly dying.

      I felt it would be the best option. So i did and I felt how my life was ending, but it did not hurt.

      I suddenly spawned somewhere else in the school and I had like a clone, everything doubled and we were offered to take on the challenges again, having a clon would be easier. I woke up.

      Opinion

      I found myself in a very active community, everyone knew everyone else, literally and took the time to interact with each other. It was very friendly. The news was on and reporting that war had broken out overseas. I was in a high rise block of flats and as is the way of dreams, I could see the war overseas from the window. All of a sudden I saw a missile launched and with a feeling of complete dread - not terror as you would imagine - I watched it as it soared up into the air, then it turned and made a B line towards the building I was in. I held my breath and closed my eyes as it hit the building and waited for the explosion. There was none. However as I opened my eyes to assess the situation, I saw the destruction you'd expect from a nuclear explosion. I found myself breaking into cars to steal for transport, some of the cars I was trying to break into were not like the cars we know of and are used to. They were operated and even started differently and try as I might, I couldn't figure out how to get them started. There was an incident were someone was trying to hurt my dogs and steal the food we had, but I don't remember the details.

      I have had recurring dreams throughout my life about nuclear war/bombs, the type of dreams that carry over into waking life for a moment or two, but not enough or as often to use them as dream signs.

      For some reason, I can't find the rest of the dream I put down on paper, so that's all I have for now, sorry.

      I've been inactive the past months, lost motivation and then forgot all about this.
      This year, I've Lucid Dreaming in my new year resolutions once again.

      First wakeup: about 06:00?
      Final wakeup: 08:30

      Local bus-ride (DREAM)
      I were in the local bus (where my dad works). It was summer and I had a ride with loads of upper highschool students (I was one myself). I sat in front of the bus, it was like a door there, made me able to stick out my feets.
      We moved to my place/part of the city (Herts*n), where my dad lives.

      That's kinda all I remember. Hard to explain all details.

      Dads gym scheldue (FRAGMENT)
      My dad showed his gym scheldue in his home, to my girlfriend.
      (my dad doesn't even train on gym irl)

      Presents fail at store (FRAGMENT)
      I was in a store and wrapped some present I was suppose to give away to somebody.
      But, I wrapped it before I bought it..
      I also was gonna buy cornflakes and soda.

      Money left (FRAGMENT)
      I was in my girlfriends flat. I looked how much money I'd left after a bus trip (the fragment below I believe). And I came up to 1450 kr. But I also knew I'd probably over 2000 kr at the bank.

      Bus ride, 200km/h (FRAGMENT)
      It was 4 seats in this bus. I had the left back seat. We were on our way to the city Kiruna, which is like 300km away from my city.
      It was very fast, the bus drove up to 200km/h.
      I looked out of the window where the review/driving mirrors suppose to be, but instead of these mirrors, there was the speedometer.
      I also took picture with my camera on the speedometer, that I later could post on Facebook.

      Hmn, now this is some odd happenings.

      So I have this dream, right? And the only part I can remember is right at the end where I (in the dream) am exhausted and hug/lean against a certain lady-friend of mine. Well, she think is best that we sit down before I crumble into a zero-energy mass, so she starts walking me (whilst I lean my head on her shoulder) over toward a park bench. (Weren't we just in a gymnasium??)
      Well, the motion of walking/dragging me over to the bench caused my head to slip down... down her front a little over half a foot.
      Now it should be clear why I didn't feel like just forgetting this dream.

      Okay, so I wake up. And it's hours before I need to 'rise 'n shine', so I attempt to re-enter the dream. Creative, imaginative guy that I am, that shouldn't be hard, right?
      True. I can see the dream-location in my head, I'm there, she's there. Now poke her, Elliot. 'Kay, that works.
      But I didn't feel it. It's not me, it's "me".
      Waitasecond... I'm in third person perspective, falling into a stage-1 sleep reconstruction (or continuation) of my dream, right? Okay, then WHY is it that I can't get back into my dream-self? I mean, the dream is even throwing in some odd things and non-sequitors like it would if it was a true dream. Because it IS.
      BUT I STILL CAN'T GET MYSELF INTO IT!
      Grrrrr....

      Well. Does the counsel of my peers here on DV tell me anything about this conundrum?
    10. So Close

      by , 09-03-2012 at 01:04 PM (Dimension X)
      I almost had yet another LD. This one would have definitely been a WILD. I remember losing feeling in my body, yet my mind was still conscious. And I was thinking: [Ok, ok, this is it, I just gotta stay calm and not think too much...] But for some reason, not long after the transition started, I woke up completely. All the feeling in my body came back at once. I think this happened because I was worried that I couldn't breathe or something. I couldn't feel myself breathe, so I started to breathe manually. I didn't think it would have an effect on me, but apparently it did. Still, I was so close to making the transition that when I imagined simple pictures, they seemed much more vivid than normal. WILD appears to be the easiest technique for me, so I'm going to keep trying it...

    11. Trying to Fly, Weeping Angels

      by , 08-15-2012 at 06:44 PM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      This one was lucid, but I didn't accomplish anything. -_-

      I think it started with me and a group of people standing in a parking lot, and Optimus Prime appeared and told us he needed people to help him fight evil. He handed each of us a mask, and when we put our masks on they turned into a full Power Ranger uniform. I was green. Optimus told us all our names (Glitter, for me ) and informed everyone that there were aliens in a nearby city. We were supposed to fly there... But I couln't get off the ground. Of course. So I grabbed hold of Optimus when he took off and rode all the way to our destination.

      We landed in a mall. There were large dinasaur-humanoid creatures rampaging around. People were screaming and running everywhere, and the other Power Rangers quickly went to work beating them up. I, however, had no idea what to do. One of the aliens spotted me and started to charge. I ran, but he was catching up. I made a feeble attempt at flying and landed flat on my face. The alien actually stopped and laughed at me, along with most of the people who had seen my fail.

      I gave up on the alien fighting and headed into the main part of the mall. People pointed at me and whispered things along the lines of, "There's that Power Ranger who can't even fly. What a loser." I just tried to find an interesting store. My friend Wesley came in after a minute or two and started following me, and I lost lucidity while trying to lose him.

      ~~~
      Just a fragment. I was in some kind of house or half-outdoor setting. The whole place was overrun with weeping angels from Dr. Who and Inferi (basically the Harry Potter version of zombies). I had a sledgehammer and was trying to destroy the angels and keep away the Inferi at the same time. That was pretty much the entire dream. At one point towards the end, though, I think I was explaining what weeping angels were to someone. There happened to be several of them surrounding us at the time.
      "You can't blink," I told her. "Every time you blink they come closer. When they're far away they look like this--" I put my hands up in the weeping pose-- "But when get up to you they look like this." I tried to imitate the hands-clawed-teeth-bared stance. As I was doing that, I noticed an angel behind me doing the thing I was trying to imitate. I pushed it away and said, "Back off, I can do it myself."
      Spoiler for Don't blink:
      Absolute failure. I don't remember a single thing about my dreams last night. I think one of the things I did wrong was going to bed earlier than usual and sleeping longer than normal. I'm definitely a creature of habit, sleeping too long throws me off.
      by , 06-23-2012 at 12:32 AM (Mr. Pig's World of Dreams)
      THE OLD MAN'S HOUSE
      I was walking around a town with my friend. He was a DC who I've never even seen in real life. It felt like it was almost Halloween and the sun was setting. He saw an old house and we walked around to the back yard. It was surrounded on two sides by an old wooden fence and had a mini inflatable pool and an small, broken swingset. Closer to the house, the ground turned into a wooden floor that looked like it was rotting, and there was a big sliding door on that side of the house. We looked inside and saw a dark living room with a big rocking chair facing a TV. The whole house looked haunted. My friend wanted to go inside so we walk around to the front. I tell him it's not a good idea, but he goes through the side door. I'm inside now and he's upstairs. We explore the house some and go back to the back yard. There's an old man on the chair now and I'm trying not to be noticed. The way out of the back porch seems so far away, like the back yard turned into a long hallway. I make it through without getting caught and we walk away.
      DEILD...ALMOST
      I woke up and reminded myself not to move so that I could lucid dream. After what seemed like only a minute, I felt like a fell through my bed. I've done this before, but I wansn't expecting it to happen. I was excited that it was working though, and I tried to picture where I wanted my dream to take place. I remember imagining some open field covered with colored round bumps. After that I fell asleep, but didn't go into a lucid dream. I don't remember going into any dream. Sad day...
      FRAGMENT
      I remember something about a zombie. There wasn't a zombie in the dream though. Just someone talking about a zombie. Or something. Yeah...
    14. How to Utterly Fail at Making Portals 5/31/2012
      by , 06-02-2012 at 09:08 AM
      Ever since I have began my lucid dreaming journey, a journey which was in large part a result of my reading the dream journal of Hyu "http://www.dreamviews.com/blogs/hyu/" I have longed to experience some of the amazing things which were, apparently, happening to my fellow DV members. Well, a few nights ago I had my chance.
      My dream starts in a city shrouded in a constant fog. The thing that I remember most from before I gained my lucidity was the smell. It was that strange mix of decaying garbage and industrial pollutants unique to the slums of a thousand cities. My non-lucid self was wandering this city in search of something which eludes me now. I eventually had the good fortune to look up into the sky, as soon as I did, I gained lucidity from the mother of all reality checks. Note to self: if the moon has a face then either A-you are playing Majora's Mask or B- you are dreaming. Once I gained my lucidity I immediately began to more thoroughly survey my surroundings. The city appeared to be a steampunk meets bladerunner version of New York. Having looked around I immediately began to try to exercise some of my lucid abilities. I succeeded in a few minor telekinetic feats, such as knocking the hats off of a few DC's. "BTW if someone ever responds to you knocking their hat their head by telling you :Thank you sir, that hat made me look like a pretentious prick, you are probably dreaming." I quickly grew bored of telekinesis and decided to see what else I could do. With no real goal in mind I raised my hand above my head and snapped my fingers. What happened next is a memory which I shall carry for the rest of my days, with a snap of my fingers I had changed the very night sky itself. All of the stars had changed position and color. I saw stars blink out of existence and other, new stars, take their place. I saw whole galaxies simply appear out of nothingness, and spiral into impossible shapes. As you can probably imagine I was entertained by this for quite a while, I stood in place and snapped my fingers repeatably and just stared at the sky. I eventually had my fill of watching the stars and decided that it was time for me to try something a little more challenging. I have never succeeded in making a portal to anywhere in a dream and was initially at a loss for a destination, then it hit me. I was going to try to make a portal to Terraluna. It seemed rather appropriate that the location that inspired my lucid journey would be the first place where I would teleport to. I stared at the spot on the cobbled pavement where I wanted the portal to appear and focused on the idea of terraluna, on the image that I had formed from reading Hyu's journal. I began to speak out loud the command "take me to terraluna". Over and over, I repeated the command and as I did so the spot where I was focusing on began to smoke, then the beginnings of a black portal took shape over the pavement. I repeated my chant over and over with increasing conviction, but, to my dismay the portal wasn't stable. In the end my portal collapsed with a crack. I had failed to create the portal that I had been so intent on creating, but I had managed to create a very pretty black scorch mark on the ground. It looked like one of those mystic circles which have become so popular in anime and games in recent years. I was preparing to try again when I was woken by my alarm going off. I had failed in my attempt.
      This isn't over. I am going to get stronger, develop my technique, and try again. No matter what it takes I am getting to Terraluna.
    15. Reality check failed .. Again!
      by , 03-25-2012 at 03:36 PM
      I was sitting in and open back container--thing of a trailer. My feet was dangling over the edge and I was "focusing"* on counting my fingers on the right hand. *I'm a total cloudhead during my dreams.
      I was counting them, as I said, and sometimes I counted two lesser, and sometimes two more, but I didn't seem to notice, because the counting didn't "count" when I was in wake state (IRL; Dream), and I was saving the REAL counting for when I was in a dream again... Why..?
