    1. Numbness

      by , 08-07-2015 at 12:06 AM
I remember explaining to someone my reasoning about wanting to go to New Zealand, because I loved big mountains...

I was, for some reason, going into my old middle school with people from my high school to eat dinner in the cafeterias. We must have been together for some sort of a program, but I'm not really sure. I know that I stayed behind a bit while everyone went to dinner. Then, I walked towards the cafeteria and began to feel kind of numb... my whole body was pretty numb, but in a "feeling-sick" kind of way. I knew I would have to lay down or something eventually, but first I checked the line. I walked towards the end of the folded line and saw that it was too long, so I began to walk back down the hallway.

On my way back, I saw an open room with some things that interested me (I can't remember what they were). I walked into the room - a dimly lit computer lab - and saw some very new-looking computers (some of which were turned on) and identical, quality backpacks that were resting on most of the chairs, all with a sleek laptop in them. My reaction to this was natural, but right after seeing them the principal (or someone in "high authority" at the school) walked in rather quickly to bend over and quickly use one of those new computers (it was touch screen, I had another natural reaction to this fact). He mentioned to me what was going on and why he was in a rush: a student with some sort of known health problem or impairment was having an emergency situation and he was getting her help. Apparently it was a really big deal because he said that she would be in the hospital for a while. Then, he said I should make her a piece of art for when she's in the hospital. I was all, "Why would you say this? I'm not an artist," and he was all, "Actually, I've seen some past work you've done, you should/can do it,"- he then walked over to the wall of the room and pulled up some sort of cover that hid a piece of art that I had previously made. It was a large piece with some nice shading in shadowy areas, lots of blues, angles, and in the bottom portion some nice water that was moving naturally as water in my dream (I seemed to know in the back of my mind that it was a dream, because I reacted as if I knew this when I saw the water, it made me smile). I recalled making this in a previous art class, but I had definitely forgotten about it since (I never actually made the piece). I said something like, "Wow, this actually looks pretty good with the lighting in here!" because I had really forgotten about it and was legitimately surprised that I - apparently - used to be good at art.

During this time, I had still been feeling that numbness and sickness, but it didn't prevent me from talking to the man. I told him that it's funny that I ran into him to have this conversation so early (he was going to ask me about that painting thing anyway), and then explained why I was there - the turned-around, felt sick thing. I tried to explain to him all my strange symptoms. I had never felt that numbness before but I knew it wasn't anything good. He said that maybe I could go with the emergency service-people when they arrived, along with the other girl.

They arrived right after that, and I walked outside onto the sidewalk in front of the school (streetlights were on, it was dark out) to wave at the people coming into the school and motion that I needed help as well. At this point, I couldn't speak, I was feeling too bad. Someone saw me, as I thought they would, and brought me onto the vehicle with them (for some reason it was a school bus). I sat there, numbly, and watched two of the young workers talk to each other. It was sort of like I was observing them in their social state, thinking that it was kind of annoying how the one girl was happily gabbing away about social things while we were there waiting on the bus, but then not blaming her because why shouldn't she do that?. I watched her decently pretty, happy face, then looked outside and watched another overweight girl with no makeup on stand there doing nothing as she was supposed to, with a blank facial expression that wasn't happy. I noted how she was sort of depressing to look at. This watching&observing of people was the most realistic part of my dream. I also looked out the window at another emergency vehicle and saw a baby who they said something about - she was either sick or had a deficiency of some sort - and although she was bald with an unusual-shaped head and a tiny body and big eyes, she didn't look like she was in any pain. She was shrieking, and her O-shaped open mouth took up an unusually large portion of her face. The shrieking may or may not have existed intermittently with laughter, but I knew it was a happy shriek, and no workers reacted to the sight of her. I tried to watch her and react by being happy and feeling love and care for the child, despite her appearance and shrieking that naturally made me feel scared and uncomfortable.

The dream ended with me feeling completely numb, watching that girl shrieking. (I didn't watch her for a long or unnatural amount of time, maybe 5-10 seconds - the dream just ended there.)

CRAZIEST part: I woke up mentally knowing where I thought my two arms were. My left one on my left side, and my right one crossed over my body (maybe that was my position in the dream? I have no idea). When I turned my head to the right, though, I saw my right arm stretched to the right. It was really confusing, I did a double-take/feel and that is certainly how I felt. I guess my entire arm has never been 100% numb before, because that was a feeling like no other. I felt like I had no arm, and that that body part sticking out from me was not a natural part of my body at all. It was strange that somehow it felt like my arm was really in a different place, as if it were trapped inside my body. I don't know how nerves work, though.
Anyway, I sat up and made it move in front of me (my head had previously been resting on it). I was a little worried I'd hurt it since I could not feel my elbow at all or any other part of my arm, and I watched it bend and flop forward unnaturally. It was so weird. And I found it so strange that becoming numb was a main part of my dream.

this was my second dream i remember...the other one was just me doing a bunch of boring every day stuff....it's been a few hours since i woke and i don't remember it anymore

second one....i was in a sporting goods store with my best friend....and there was a small arcade to the right of the entrance.....she went in and went to the arcade and i kept trying to follow her but i couldn't hear what she was saying and she was moving too fast for me......and my legs kept hurting and my knees kept giving out on me and i had a hard time walking without falling.....and then we were looking at shoes and trying to find sneakers because she has really small feet and they only have shoes that look like they are for little kids in her size at the regular stores....we didn't find any shoes she likes....and i went out to the car to get my phone and i came back in and the manager said i couldn't come in because the store is about to close and they aren't letting anymore people in......and i told him my friend was in their and he said he would make an announcement for her to just go to her car to meet me when she was done.....and i told him that wouldn't work because she has her music on and not her hearing aids and wouldn't be able to hear it....he let me in to find her......

she was at the bathrooms and had found a few things and had them in a cart.....we were looking at the backpacks and there were only very small differences.....she said they all looked exactly the same but i kept pointing out the very small differences...then i fell again.....and the manager saw.....and it took me a bit to get back up and i looked like i was in a lot of pain....and i had to hold on to stuff to get up......he said he was going to call the triage nurse and to not move but i told him to not...

she shows up a minute later while i'm still arguing with him and had just managed to stand up.....(she looks exactly like the triage nurse from my school.....same outfit and everything)....she asks to see my leg and kind of just grabs it and brings it up to about hip height and held it straight out....something i used to be able to do irl before the pain got to be too much for me......since i didn't look to be in pain......she asked if it was numb and that was why it was hard to stand.....i just stared at her with my mouth open because she had a pin in her hand and needles freak me out.....and she started to roll up my pants leg.....and i started saying no needles and trying to pull my leg away.....and she said it was a thumb tack and not a needle...and it turned into one and she held it out in her hand and i threw it.....she let go to go get it....and i started crawling around between the clothing racks.....i was really fast.....and i looked back and the clothing was still swaying from where i'd originally been......and the manager saw me and he pointed me out and i moved again really fast.....and the only reason they could see where i went was because i kept looking at them....and i crawled out to where i could see the registers while they were looking on the other side of the store for me......and i stood up shakily and limped over to the registers and texted my friend to meet me there....and my text had the words that i put in....even after i looked away to see if they were still looking for me......the words didn't change...they saw me...and i looked away quick....and the cashier was making small talk with me because i said i was just waiting for my friend.......and the nurse and manager stood at the doors facing the registers.......and the nurse said that she just wants to help and that no one should push because she doesn't want anyone to get hurt......and there was a person behind me so the only way i could go was her direction....and i saw her coming towards me out of the corner of my eye....she had an orange shirt......and i looked at it and then her face and she made eye contact with me and then i woke up
    3. Lucid Dream #52

      Lucidity: 8/10
      Vividness: 9/10
      Length: ~10 Min.

I was lying in my bed when my whole body went numb and I started to fall, I held on and I barley opened my eyes and I saw my window. Something that looked like a tree branch turned into a dinosaur, then I tried to turn it into a bird, it did. It was kinda cool, but very scary. I lied there until I couldn't feel any numbness anymore and looked around. I went down stairs to talk to my dad and he got up after I poked him a couple of times. He checked his sides and next to him were a bunch of pictures and one was with a kid that had a knife in his hand pointing at his neck, then he went back to sleep. I turned around and my dad's friend Steven was caught on something, I didn't help him and I jumped out of the window. I got caught on a part of the window, so I just untangled myself. My dream body looked like Ichigo from Bleach. I ran through the darkness of the night when I found a place where they caught somebody. I turned into someone else and listened in on their conversation. It wasn't that interesting so I left and went to a store. I started to feel hungry, so I didn't think about it. I threatened somebody, I saw a camera with a bunch of lazers and stuff in front of it. Then I saw this girl, while I was walking up to her. She started to bark like a dog, as an experiment I barked really loud at her to see what her reaction would be, as I expected. She barked really really loudly back. I thought that this dream was out of control and I thought it would never end, so I tried to wake myself up and I did.
    4. Ants

A dream from 2001 or so...
I had this a little while after I moved away from a bunch of my friends to a different state.

Me and by old friend (irl) B are standing in nothingness. It is just white that extends forever, and we are confused as to how we got there.
Suddenly a wall begins to build itself around us. It starts out translucent and slowly builds to full opacity, and is made out of bricks. It is a lot like a video game.

We notice quickly that the wall is trapping us and we begin to run toward one end of the wall, each of us taking different directions. We are to slow and are just behind where it is becoming solid. We end up meeting each other as the square fortress becomes complete and I tell him to leave first. He jumps out, and I follow, but the wall becomes solid on my arm that had not cleared where the wall was appearing.

B grabs my legs and begins to pull, and for some reason I don't understand I bend my arm so that it is hooked on the other side of the wall and I can not get out, even though there was enough space for me to slide my arm out. I tell him to make a break for it, he hesitates, but then runs.

It is like there is suddenly a society inside the wall, and there is a giant docking station. A humongous arc floats into the docking station, one driven by huge ants. I am terrified since I have no idea what they will do to me, but I still remain where I am. They shoot me in the leg with a dart and I feel my body slowly go numb and I loose consciousness.

I know they take me into the fortress and that I am kept there for a long time, but I forget the details of the middle.

They are trying to force me to go to part of the city I don't want to go when B returns swinging on something to swoop in for a final save.

    5. Poison Dart

      by , 11-13-2010 at 10:39 PM
      October 26, 2005

A dart came flying towards me so in a frantic attempt to not get hit by it I smacked it down to the floor. It was filled with a liquid that was silvery like mercury. I broke the dart open, and touched the silvery liquid. I then decided to taste it for some reason. When it touched my tongue my whole body went numb and limp and dropped to the floor. Might I also mention that when my body went numb, a really strong vibration took over my body. I saw my dad standing there and he was just looking at me. I then proceeded to tell him, "This stuff is cool." Then it faded.

    6. Battery Acid

by , 06-15-2010 at 04:10 PM (Sailing the Noosphere)
It's evening at a summer camp, and I feel incredibly bored. My brother invites me to play video games with him, so I go to the living room of our house and join. It's some sort of superhero fighting game with SNES-level graphics, and I play as Wolverine against his Hulk. The cartoons have a good level of violence, with blood flying as my Wolverine claws dig into the Hulk's skin. Eventually I get bored again and wander outside.

I find a book of idea for things to do when bored just lying on the ground. I pick it up and start flipping through (yet another failed RC). One of the ideas is shooting a watch battery with a nail to produce some sort of cool reaction; the book warns that after the 41st nail is shot at any battery, both objects are coated with a slow-acting contact poison. I proceed to idly shoot the battery 42 times, watching sparks and corrosive fluids form, then touch the damn thing. Nothing happens immediately, but in a minute or two my left arm feels incredibly numb. I look down at it, and the skin is turning a sickly shade of blue (failed finger RC). I run to the camp's bathroom, but faint out of the dream.
