    1. [09-08-2016] #11th competition entry

      by , 08-09-2016 at 09:29 AM (Snehk's Dreamlands)
      First dream

I was in deep woods, it was evening and it was getting dark. I was a witcher, with my dog we were wandering around the forest in search of a strange beast. We took a few turns, dog tried to track it by scent but it could feel it all over the forest. Suddenly I saw a small glade with circle of stones, all in enormous spider webs. I told to dog that it should wait and it sat on the ground, then went to the circle. Each rock in the circle had a plaque with symbol, I pushed the one from which I thought I should begin, and mysterious arcs of energy surrounded the circle. I had to push the plaques in right order to face the beast. When I pushed the last plaque, the dream ended.

      Second dream

I was in my house, in the kitchen. Father asked me if I could cook something for him, for a dinner. Older sister showed me where are potatoes and meatloaf left after dinner, so I took a frying pan, placed meatloaf on it and sliced some potatoes on the pan. Then I turned on the gas. It burst out and exploded, nearly blowing my hand off. My hand pained badly, but looking at it I saw that nothing happened to my hand.

      Attempted WBTB - failed.

      Third dream

I was in an abandoned manor. There was some eldritch abomination wandering around. I had to find a way into it's home dimension and cut it off of it's power source, but I decided to face the beast and attack. It was a dark green monster with tentacles. I was bashing and punching it wildly, not giving even slight chance of counterattack or retaliation. After a while the abomination that was supposed to be immortal have fallen dead. With my hands I opened portal above it's body and entered the dark realm. Then I saw Cthulhu, moving closer and closer towards me.

I almost forgot this dream. I had the impression I had dreamed about grotesque insects. I was tempted to not remember it. Somehow, something I saw while driving refreshed the memory.

I was in my spare room. It is mostly empty and looked like it does in real life. -Expect for two piles of dirty laundry in front of the closet door. They looked like piles of dirty oily rags. Something you would use on a car. Sitting plain as could be between the piles are two plastic cylinders filled with clear water. One was almost empty, the other was mostly full.

Escaping the mostly empty 'tank' was something like a giant albino pill bug mixed with a silverfish. Except slimey and fleshy. They scattered when I spotted them.

For some reason, I felt more worried about the inhabitant of the second cylinder tank...

I picked it up using both hands and held it up to get a close look. Floating up the surface was something very difficult to describe. It was elongated, lopsided snail-like thing fused with a clam. It had a tiny human-like face with dull black eyes. It was mostly snail brown with darker blurry stripes, and a slightly translucent shell. I had the impression two lived the tank. But only saw the one.

I recently started looking through HP Lovecraft writings. The monsters described in the lore are notoriously difficult to depict or comprehend.

    3. The Reemergence of Jack (and a little bit of Cthulhu) 11/04/2012

      by , 06-11-2013 at 07:12 AM
I want to start by pointing out the obvious, that this is a dream journal entry from before I began posting here. My retro-posting has a purpose, as I've begun to mention Jack in recent dreams, I wanted to write a little bit about what he represents to me and post his first appearance in my adult dream-life. He may have made earlier appearances, but it is only recently that he gained a name.

I may be crazy, but I've always been a little infatuated with the character of Jack Sawyer from Black House. And, also, after reading through my journals I've found many instances where I dreamed about various characters named Jack (though never actually the one from Black House). It seems I have a fondness for them. So, in a way, my Jack may be inspired by many Jacks.

Jack feels like a guardian, someone who will watch my back no matter what's going on. I'm excluding this dream because Liam and Jack mixed personalities. It was distinctly different from other dreams, just like my dreams of Liam and of Jack are distinctly different from each other. That one was...very odd for me. I guess the blending of traits explains why Jack was being so stubborn, Liam can be...bull-headed.

      Call of Cthulhu
I sat with three men (one of them my boyfriend) at the Home Decor desk at work. My boyfriend is sitting diagonal to me. A pale, dark haired man is directly my opposite (this one is Jack). Next to me is a man I never look straight at. The department manager of Plumbing is very loudly leading other employees in a song aimed at one of his underlings as an insult. It begins to annoy me, I can't concentrate on the game we are playing.
Suddenly I say, "He shouldn't be allowed to talk to people that way, it isn't right."
"Relax." My boyfriend says, "It'll blow over, he'll lose interest eventually."
I frown, glancing over my shoulder toward Plumbing as they erupt into another round of clapping and singing.
"Hey, you want to go stop him?" The dark haired man says to me.
      "Yeah! I do!"
"Alright." He says, giving me a wicked smile. "Let's stop him then." He rises from his chair and I follow suit. He has short
black hair, wearing a navy blue button-up with black jeans. The shirt has pearl-capped buttons. He leads the way. The Plumbing department looks like a restaurant. The walls are painted dark red and the trim is a bight yellow-gold. We reach the restaurant and discover that the man we came to confront has fled to one of the upper levels. There is a flight of stairs going down on the left side of the department. We take them. I'm confused about why we have to go downstairs first before we can go up.

The stairway is enclosed in a tile tunnel. The tiles are small, gray 1x1s. It's cool and damp and feels like a storm drain. The stairs are very steep. I only realize how steep when at the halfway mark, the guard rail disappears. It find it difficult to breathe, and I become nervous about falling, I step very cautiously. The man sees how afraid I am and passes in front of me, so that if I stumble he will be between me and danger. I clutch his shoulder to keep my balance. He flashes me a knowing smile.

Something catches my eye and I look up. There is a large circular cut out in the ceiling, edged in stone. I can see the night sky through it. The moon is full, casting its clear light down into the storm drain.
      "Hey look.." I say.
The man halts, we both look up. Now, instead of night sky it is like water is suspended in a well and we are looking at the underside of it. There is an image of a brunette woman. Her hair is blowing across her face. The image ripples as though on water, and stretches, her mouth gradually opens in horror and green tentacles erupt from her mouth, before the image disperses entirely.
We continue down the stairs. On the wall across from us, I notice another disturbing display of art. It looks like dark green tentacles bursting fort from a sewer mouth. My uneasiness grows.
"Are you sure we should be down here? Haven't you read call of Cthulhu?" (and I still haven't read Call of Cthulhu so that...doesn't
really mean anything to me haha.)
"Relax, we'll be fine." He says.
Once we reach the bottom of the stairs, it becomes muddled. Something about a girl laying on a platform that we raise to cross the water. She thanks us for rescuing her. I try to offer her my hand to cross the gap from platform to walkway but she insists it is easier to cross on her own. She says the man we're pursuing trapped her on the platform, but she knows where he's going.

    4. A monster from my childhood. The crazy lady was right this time.

      by , 09-09-2012 at 09:01 PM (Zechariah's Dream Journal)
This dream started out down the street from my house. I was going for a walk around the block like I do nearly every day. Nothing seemed out of place, and the begining has very little to do with the rest of the dream. I walked my elementry school that's down the street from my house, and as I passed the front office- my oldest friend Marykate Pennington walked by on the other side of the road. I said Hey! what's going on? She said Hey! I just got back from Washington. And she started telling me about her trip. (Everything seemed pretty accurate, she had been living in Washington for a few months.)
We walked down my street and I felt very very weak for some reason. I told her to go to my house and ask my mom to make her some food and we'll catch up in a bit, she didn't look so good either.
I walked past my wife and her sister Amie laying on the sidewalk on the corner accross the street from the school, and I layed down next to her. We talked for a minute, and I fell asleep even though I wasn't sleeping. She poked me a couple times to see if I was awake, and I was awake then but I was going to turn around and yell BOO! But I tried to jump up and found I was too weak at this point. I lifted my head but then it feel back to the ground. Then I laughed and told her what I was trying to do and that I didn't feel good, then we began walking back to my house. On the way back down my street, I noticed that a few of my neighbors small brick walls had been broken on the edges. A few bricks layed on the sidewalk with no explination, like something big had plowed through them.
As I got closer to my house, I noticed a short elderly lady standing in front of the church across the street from my house. (My house in real life is on the corner surrounded by three churches and a school. It's a weird corner.)
The lady was pointing up in the tree shouting, "MONSTER, MONSTER, IT'S THERE! IN THE TREE! Why wouldn't anyone listen?!"
I started walking towards her while looking into the tree, and just then a huge green worm like creature; probably twenty feet long and three feet wide leaped from the tree and with supernatural speed ran through the church's courtyard. "What the fuck!?" I yelled, still weak- I was holding on to things to keep myself moving. It circled the church and rapidly multiplied into an enormous green Cthulhu looking beast. As big as the building and much too quick for anyone around it to escape. It had dozens, maybe a hundred limbs and each was as big or bigger than the first worm I saw. It made me remember a dream that I had when I was little, I have seen what that worm was doing before.
But in the dream years ago, nobody found out what it was. There was a mysterious death in the church yard with a huge grooved ditch going through the grass. I now realized what it was, and I knew the old lady was aware of that past dream as if it was a reality. I looked up at the beast as it flailed it's limbs and grabbed another man and woman right behind me and slammed the woman into the cement directly in front of me. I knew her, she was the mother of my next door neighbor. It pained me to see but I had to go, she was dead. My wife and I reached my house and informed my family. I was standing in my kitchen panicking when I saw icons come up in front of my face like a game. I needed to choose and option of what to do next, but I didn't know what to do. They didn't even have names on them. That was the last thing I remember about this dream. It was fucking epic now that I'm awake thinking about it, but very intense while I was in it.

One thing that's baffling me is how my mind continued a story from so many years ag at that church- and randomly brought it into a huge monsterous conclusion last night. It's beautiful.
