Hi everyone, haven't had a lot of dreams as of late so haven't posted in a while, but here's my best attempt at piecing together last nights one:

I'm walking around a beach late at night, and only very shortly from the shoreline is a lighthouse, illuminating the dark night air. There's a shallow mist around me, and after watching the waves for a short moment, I turn around and begin walking up these stairs that are surrounded by an immense amount of greenery. At the top there's a restaurant of some sort, but I stop halfway up and turn left to another path through the greenery. This leads me to a black room, where the walls seem to rhythmically pulsate a faint light. In the centre of the room I see a silhouette of two people, a man and a woman. I believe the man is my Dad, but I can't recognise the woman. I stare at them for a few short moments as the walls of the room grow brighter and dimmer around us, before exiting.

I then end up in a town somewhere, reminiscent of where I lived as a small child. I'm walking down the streets before a friend of mine pulls up and tells me to get in their car. I freak out because they certainly don't know how to drive, but they assure me it's fine, and they seem kind of in a hurry anyways. I climb in the passengers side and ask what they're in a rush for, but I can't remember what they said. Suddenly, something urgent happens and they need me to take over driving for a sec, which freaks me out because I don't know how to drive either! I grab hold of the steering wheel and look over at my friend to see when they'll take over again, but when I look back there's a car in front of us and I swerve into a pole and crash.
The car is ruined, and it takes a few minutes for me to come back to consciousness, because when I do I look over and my friend's not in the car anymore. I only faintly remember what happens after that, something about them laughing, something about a hot air balloon, I'm not too sure

I think it's also worth mentioning I've had a few other dreams involving lighthouses as of late, but I don't remember enough to make a post about it. Do lighthouses symbolise anything or am I just a weirdo...
    2. The Broken Lighthouse

      Saturday Night, 7/18/20

I had an FA. I noticed that the perspective was wrong for waking up; I was looking down on my bed. I floated around the room a bit, confirming I was dreaming. I noticed the room was vague and the dream did not feel very stable. I aimed for the floor of my room and landed, bounced up and down a little trying to feel the carpet on the soles of my feet. I could hear a soft crunching sound, like the sound of velvet being gently crushed. The dream faded anyway, my vision going black. However, I still felt more connected to the dream than to my waking life body so I tried to imagine "throwing" myself back into the dream. I opened my eyes, a bit uncertain whether it would work, but it did. I was back in my room standing on the ground. I floated again to confirm. Up near the ceiling I grabbed onto the top of the cube structure where there was a wooden platform (it's sort of like the top of a bookcase). I alternated between staring at the wood grain and rubbing my hand across the wood. Sure enough the grains of the wood became incredibly detailed and lifelike. Looking around I could now see the lines on the palms of my hands, the bumps on the blue walls, the sharp outlines of various pieces of furniture.

Satisfied that the dream was fully stabilized, I phased through the window of my room and glided over the land below. It was quite beautiful out, sunrise coloring the clouds. Although my backyard was much bigger than in waking life it was otherwise consistent with its current configuration. At least up until the stand of bamboo at the far end. Behind there and off to the right, instead of a fence, I found an open plot of dirt with a partially built lighthouse. At last! I thought, Although, I was kind of hoping to have it by an ocean... I considered that on the one hand it was convenient to have it close to my house but on the other hand I would have to use some trick of the mind in order to make use of it as I'd originally planned, as a lighthouse by the sea.

Off to my left a woman and two young children were wandering from the bamboo forest into my backyard. I waved at the family. The youngest child, the boy, seemed to be the only one who saw me. He tried to get his mother and sister to look over. The mother squinted in my general direction and shrugged before continuing on her way. The little boy looked confused. I told him not to worry about it. It wasn't clear if he could hear me. I returned my attention to the lighthouse and saw that the first floor was thoroughly encased in rock and therefore inaccessible. I had planned to have steps carved into rock leading up to the base of the building and I mused that the dream must have constructed it this way like a bug in a video game when it was placed somewhere different from the intended landscape. The next two floors were far smaller than I'd planned. Beyond that it was completely unfinished. I began planning how I would fix it and build it out as if I were using Minecraft blocks. I wondered if I should leave it with its current black and white colors or change them to match the colors I'd planned for it when I designed it in waking life. I had only just begun modifying the structure when I heard a loud sound. Annoyed, I looked up to see that some random guy on a motorcycle had ridden up and parked behind the lighthouse, apparently oblivious to my presence. When I saw that he wasn't going to interfere further I tried to return my concentration to the task at hand
but the dream faded into a different scene and I lapsed into non-lucidity.

      The Castle

I woke up in an old castle where i would attend classes that were focused on me finding out what I wanted to do in life. The overall consensus was that I was not happy because I didn't know what I wanted to spend my whole life doing. But I think I began to question whether I really wanted to pick one thing. The monotony of spending the rest of my whole life doing one thing sounded like a hellish existence of repetition. I didn't even want to think about things before doing them at all at that point.

I liked the idea of free choice and pondering all the options and directions to go so I left the class and went downstairs. I heard the door up stairs open as this other classmate came down trying to get me to go back to class. I resisted and went around back the stairs where i saw these glowing shimmering lights. I went underneath into the shadow cast underside of the staircase and reached for these glowing objects but when I was about to grab them they shot out like streamers all around the room. I turned a corner and the classmate kept following me. I knew he was trying to get me back; at this point it seemed like by force. I was getting bad vibes, like the whole thing was controlled and I was in a prison like loony bin where the caretakers where to ones who had actually lost their minds. I ran into a dead end, turned around and the classmate was blocking the way saying I had to go back to class. I told him I had free choice and ran passed him toward the glass doors to the outside. I started to pick the lock looking out through the frosted glass into the green hue overtones of the outdoors, but gave this up and smashed the glass with my fist to save time being that I was being chased at this point.

I ran out across the grass and took an immediate left around the building where people were playing football as my classmate and a few others are chasing me yelling to catch me. The players are alerted and join the chase. I pick up speed and jump a fence into a hedge-maze where I take a few rights and a few lefts until i lose them. Then I realize that I'm lost myself and this feeling of being trapped for eternity sweeps in as I slowly loose consciousness...

I wake up in a bed in a small stuffy room with my mother sitting above me reading off a list of the symptoms that I have like "paranoia, anxiety, depression, deranged thoughts, loss of will, short-term memory loss" She's trying to help but it made me feel like the very act of a assuming these problems projected them on me. I felt like I was being diagnosed to the point that the diagnosis was creating the very symptoms they were focused on treating. The forced help mentality of projected mental health issues was what was in-sighting my paranoia that thereby drove me to jump straight out of the bed and run downstairs, back out through the glass door I had broke. I ran straight this time across into a huge field of old recycled cans. I was literally wading through aluminum cans where my feet wouldn't even touch the ground any more. The cans formed a hill and as I waded on the light became visible as I could see that the cans were piled against a wall. On top of the wall I looked out across a bay with a lighthouse in the distance. I jumped down onto the beach and sat in the lotus position looking at the waves. It was at this point that my body felt weird like I was electrically charged and I knew I was dreaming. I looked at my hands and they started to melt like I was on mushrooms, the overexposed high detail of my finger prints shifting and changing sizes. I looked up and my friend Sarah was here and she wanted to go swimming. I wanted to fly so I began to float upwards over the water as she swam. As I looked down I slowly began to sink further and further down into the water where I sank and woke up in real life to my fellow dreaming black cat Phantom sleeping on my chest.

This is just one of my lucid dreams that I've had that involves my main reoccurring dream-signs:

Getting Lost (Normally underground in tunnels)
Flying/ Falling (enjoy both when falling I like to land on my feet)
Being swept away by water beyond my control
      A castle
    4. To the New World! Or not...

I had one dream last night about having to find enough space for a jigsaw puzzle that wanted to solve itself.

I had another dream that may have been subtly influenced by the fact that yesterday was Columbus Day. I had set sail with Green, Red, Blue, and Vio (Four Swords Links) to discover a new land. Instead of having a ship, though, each of us was on a small raft. We were heading "roughly west". We passed a lighthouse, and, after a couple minutes, we stopped at the shore of a small town (no, we hadn't discovered anywhere yet; we were just stopping for the evening because it was getting late).

We went inside a building somewhere and found out that the mayor of the town was Mr. Pilgrim, who we were going to meet. I'm pretty certain he was Scott Pilgrim, but I woke up before I could meet him.
    5. Rocket Lighthouse

      by , 01-07-2003 at 07:07 AM
Morning of January 7, 2003. Tuesday.

My wife Zsuzsanna and I are in an unfamiliar restaurant, seemingly in early afternoon, and near a large window (about a restaurant table away in distance, as other people are at tables closer to the window as such), from about two feet from the floor to about two feet from the ceiling, with a wide view of the ocean, rocky shore, and a red lighthouse. I eventually get the impression that we are also in a lighthouse, though that is not very logical (as only one lighthouse is needed in a region), and our view via the window is at ground level.

Over time, my father (April 26, 1901-February 14, 1979) is seen in silhouette in the distance only. (My dream self has no recollection of his death, as is often the case in my non-lucid dreams.) He looks as if he is doing something with an air hose, bending down somewhat (in profile oriented to the right) towards something on or near the ground). I am aware that he may be involved in the maintenance of these buildings.

The lighthouse turns out to be (or rather, turns into) a rocket. It lifts off slowly, without incident. The beauty of the ocean also holds my attention and I “remember” we are near Cape Kennedy, though that was its name from 1963 to 1973, and is actually now known again as Cape Canaveral.

I have some doubts though, about remaining in the restaurant. There is some movement as if of a mild “earthquake”. It seems we are lifting off, yet the view from the window remains of the rocky shore with no hint that we are rising as it seems other than a mild physical awareness of such. Perhaps we are not actually in a rocket and the vibrations are from another rocket that is not presently seen.

      Most relevant key terms:

      • Water induction as dream state initiation; water symbolizing sleep and its status (most common induction form, virtually every day for over fifty years in at least one dream of a twenty-four hour period).
      • Exit flight waking symbolism (similar to return flight waking system but probably not as common, though basically meaning the same thing; RAS symbolism and inner ear dynamics in the waking transition).
      • My wife Zsuzsanna in romantic scenario.
      • Father alive without recollection he had died.
      • Vibration as symbolic of growing awareness of my real physical body upon slowly waking.
      • Being at a public restaurant (mild hunger while sleeping).
      • Red as waking priority (common, typically only in the last dream of a sleeping period when I have been sleeping a bit too long).
      • Waking symbolism (and dream self attention) oriented to the right (most common).
