    1. 26th June 2013 Mix of various dreams

by , 06-26-2013 at 11:23 PM (Scionox's Journal of Dreams)
      Some good recall today.

      Dream 1:

I was doing some stuff at home, was going into bathroom but was constantly interrupted, then i was going to some kind store with some people, i didn't know way so was just following. Eventually we found it and it was kinda arabian store, we were searching for a specific movie but haven"t found it. We went through some city places and soon reached another store, which looked exactly the same. Vendor had that movie and he really liked it so he joined us in watching it.
That movie was not a normal movie, but some kind of combination between movie and anime. It was about a group of badass dudes who were traveling through wasteland mountainy areas on the pickup truck and were fighting mutants and talking inbetween the fights. At one point the strongest looking dude got some kind of 'overcharge' power and started destroying lots of enemies, then there was one sniper dude with an irokez who had electrical powers that he should not be using, but then he got 'overcharge' as well, gaining yellow lightning around himself and his sniper rifle turned into laser rifle with red laser. It was quite awesome.

      Dream 2:

I was playing some video game that looked like Spore creature stage, except there were some kind of tree mazes and platformer elements all over the place and it was more like usual 3D platformer/adventure game, also there was huge city in background, i had trouble finding the right path around the level. At one point i kinda found the way 'into' background and there were weird statues around.
Then after that level it turned to be RTS and was looking more like Starcraft 2 graphically, i was controlling group of soldiers and was scouting in some jungle-like place. Then i found some kind of enemy base but it was guarded by some creatures that looked like dinosaurs but had insect-like eyes and metallic roar. There were like four big ones than were glowing red or blue when angered, depending on target, and that was switching them to really overpowered mode, plus there were alot of smaller ones. Eventually i figured out the way to get group through, but it there were simply not enough forces to deal with them all.

      Dream 3(fragments):

I was playing some japanese shmup and i had weird problems setting resolution, the screen was glitching out while i was trying to fix it.

      Dream 4:

I was playing some game and there was global world map, i was able to control nukes and bombers all over the place and i was targeting a few places while fighting off enemy bombers. Then it transitioned into some flat land forest and i apparently could summon trees and they kinda had low gravity, plus there was a level boundary, trees summoned into level boundary were launched at crazy force. I still had access to global map and nukes so i was kinda switching between both, at times global map looked similar to waking world, at other times it was different.

      DREAM NONDREAM LUCID

I just want to point out, while this dream does have some parallels with Deus Ex human revolution, it is not the basis of this dream, as I haven't played the games or tried to incubate a dream like this.

So it all started with me walking into a large corporation, Haplogroup inc. I was following a woman named Dr.Hasley, who looked very similar to the character in Halo: Reach. She was walking and talking about things I really didn't care about, like how exciting it was for me to be there and rambling on about projects that I didn't care about. I don't know why this strange woman had called me there, and just as I asked this in my head, she turned around and scoffed, "You're here to be the test subject for our Human Augmentation program." I looked shocked and turned to run, but was grabbed by two giant robots. I then awoke some time later with my entire body aching and almost an electric buzz feeling behind my eyes. I went to stood up and broke the leather straps holding me down to the table. I became lucid at this point. Realizing this, I tried to fold the table up, using only my arms. I folded the table into a briefcase shape and threw it, destroying the camera in the top left corner of the room. I then proceeded to escape. The details of my escape are fuzzy, just that I remember overhearing that Haplogroup had developed a tank that could launch nukes almost silently. I went to the police at once, meeting them at a restaurant about 3 miles away from Haplogroup inc.'s main HQ. I met up and went over the details I could remember about the plot for the nuke launching tank, and proceeded to volunteer for the job, demonstrating my new augmentations as proof of my abilities to carry out the mission. I then rode off in a hijacked cop car and went to the coordinates that I had remembered. I ran off into the woods to fight this tank. At once, it targeted me with standard rounds and began firing me. I decided that my augmentations weren't enough, and decided to use a blink teleport type ability, similar to those used by Stalkers in StarCraft 2. I blinked around and got up behind the tank, which was a mix of a sedan and a standard tank looking thing. I grabbed the back right wheel and flipped it over with some difficulty, and then began to fold it in half. It then exploded in my arms. I brushed myself off and walked back to the car. I then tried to turn the police lights on top of the car on, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't will them on. So I got in the car and drove off, narrowly avoiding a dog. The dog just sat in the middle of the road and barked, "FEED ME!" at me. Then I woke up.

      SPECIAL EDITION

Most of you probably didn't notice the removal of one of my five star entries recently. I took it down because I was using it as a base for a school project. Today, I present the result of that project in Dream Journal Format. Enjoy.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Thoughts, silently drifting atop an ocean of blackness, play in my mind. Flashing images, darting under supple waves of nothing, form together to create new and exciting visions. Drifting slowly toward sleep, the onset of a dream is upon me. The shift into the dream-state is sudden, yet subtle. . . .

Everyone gets a test. Crap, I whisper inwardly. The answers were just on the board, but my recall is hazy, murky. I struggle, fighting through my memories like one would against a powerful current, but—realization strikes me abruptly. With great haste, I record my revelation.
“Soul: The agent that binds humanity together.”
“Biology: The genetic force that drives humans apart. Often incites violent conflicts.”
I ponder, deeply, the implications of these definitions, likening soul to an archaic ideal and biology—difference, technology—to humankind’s present outlook. In today’s world, with its holographic displays and galaxy-wide communication, hardly anyone believes in the existence of a soul. Clearly, technology has ascended to fill our need to connect with one another, making souls obsolete. And yet, something is missing, something one can’t get from behind a dim glowing screen. Without this crucial piece, our physiological differences rise to the surface, and we begin to look upon those unlike ourselves with disdain and contempt. Even the best of us fall prey to this reality.

The proof is here in this classroom full of geniuses. Each of us, raised in a world of cold circuitry and wire, place ourselves above this guest-lecturer who had the nerve to test us. More than that, none of us, save myself, are afraid to show it. One student in particular vocalizes the intellectual disparity between the professor and her students using several colorful metaphors, and I can’t help agreeing with him.

Without warning, the dream changes. Our test is over, and my class is headed back to Earth, yet no one celebrates our return. A sea of nuclear warheads is descending upon us, dropping through the same atmosphere we are. This is it: the end of everything. My peers look at me; their dark, motionless eyes stare blankly. All hope has left them.

I extend a shield of energy around those close to me as the nukes hit ground. Fallout descends upon us, drowning the air in a blood-red hue, buffeting my shield, heating it beyond the realms of human survival. The world outside my bubble is dead, and there’s nothing I can do about it. I think I failed the test.
