      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was staying in a small town by the sea with my family and my dogs. We had rented a big house at the top of a hill which was about a 10 minute walk from the town and you had to cross a bridge to reach it. My brother and his wife were staying in a house inside the town.

I had spent the day at the town and was starting to walk to the house when I saw a sign about two little girls who were lost. As I was crossing the bridge, I saw the two girls hiding behind a boulder by the edge of the bridge. I jumped over the handrail and climbed down a bit to get to where they were. They seemed really angry I had found them but I dragged them up the hill and into the town. I took them to the police station and they told me these were two orphans who were protected by the town's law and they could do anything as the law did not apply to them. I thought this was a really weird law but decided to start walking home again. As I left the town, one of the orphans followed me and told me I had made a big mistake. I just laughed and continued walking.

As I was reaching the house we were staying at, I saw an old lady who was standing underneath a streep lamp crying. I approached her and asked what was wrong. She told me she was mourning the death of her children, who were killed by a group of orphans a few months ago. At this point I was a bit scared and confused about the whole thing and asked what the deal was with these kids. She told me that whenever a child's parents died or abandoned them, they had to grow up in the street; they had to kill and steal to survive, but did not have to respond to the law for their actions. I thought it was silly to be scared of kids as I could easily outstrength them.

I got home and my parents were watching the local news. Apparently there had been waves of murders and sackings in the town. We were worried about my brother but he called to say he was ok. We locked the doors and windows but then realized one of the dogs was missing. I went around the neighbourhood looking for her. I went inside a house that was having a costume party because someone told me she was seen going in there. I started searching the house but she was nowhere to be seen. The lights suddenly went off and people started screaming. A group of 5 orphans had broken in and were stabbing people. There was blood everywhere. I ran towards a window when an orphan, the one who warned be I had made a mistake, blocked my way. She must be 10 at most, I thought. I ran towards her and without stopping front kicked her in the face and then jumped out the window. I kept running and saw my dog Fiona across the street. I grabbed her and went home.

The next morning we were on a ship waiting to depart. I was looking at the town and wondering what had happened for the rest of the night. I saw two men walking towards me, both with their hands in their pockets and I thought it was a bit suspicious. I started walking in their direction when they each pulled out a knife. Then I realized they must be part of the orphan gang. I dodged one of them and kicked the other one. My dad started running towards us; one managed to slash my arm but I was able to move fast enough so it didn't cut me too deep. I kicked one guy over board, and my dad knocked the other one out.

The ship departed, we were safe.

Once again, I'm in a video game-esque world; or at least, the graphics in this world is good ol' early 90's DOS, 256-colors game. We (as in my party, who are comprised of 2D sprites -- looks like we are in an SRPG game) have just hit the Sad Ending, and the female protagonist is going to be lost to another dimension in an act of self sacrifice. Only, she suddenly realizes that she can totally get out of this predicament, and yep, we are suddenly in Good Ending, complete with a big boost in graphics as we hit an FMV sequence. I'm not sure how/why, but now we are flying around on a big airship (that acts as our party's camp, I assume) overlooking mountains and plains, and a pack of birds is celebrating with us. It would not feel out of place in a Final Fantasy FMV sequence. Then blurriness.

Dream two has me acting as the older brother of two poor orphans who I named Kate and Sam. Kate is older (I want to say 8-9 years old), has perfect curls, and is dressed in a patched down jacket that reaches down to her knees. Sam is maybe 4 or 5, carries a teddy bear in one hand (while holding on to Kate with the other) while wearing a faded onesie. They look like pathetically cute ragamuffins.

Oh, and apparently, I'm a ghost in this scenario, and only Kate and Sam can see me. So I go around watching over them as they struggle in the middle of winter in a grim-looking city. At one point, we are in a small market at the meat section, and an old man that resembles/played by Jonathan Banks tries to buy food -- a package of uncooked chicken drumsticks and chicken breasts -- for them, only I Ghost-slap the food out of his hands in anger. Apparently, Dream Knowledge fills me in that this old man is a detective, and I am agitated because I guess he wasn't able to prevent my death/overlooked my murder/I'm a dick.

The dream switches to the outside of an alleyway, and I'm also able to communicate with the detective now. We seem to have put our differences aside, and he even has decided to take in Kate and Sam to watch over as his own. But before we can get to the Happy Ending, we have to take down a mobster nicknamed "Leek," like the vegetable. Apparently, he is the one who is responsible for my death. Sadly, the dream fades before I find out what happens.

Oh no, wait, yes I do -- my subconscious ripped off the plot from The Crow, so I have a pretty good idea what happens.

I'm Jasmine from Aladdin. And, I'm with another guy. We're going through some rooms trying to make our way through the zombies. It's kind of dark, and I don't have a gun so I'm following the dude with the rifle and we get to a doorway (one without a door attached), and a zombie tries grabbing me. The guy shoots it and I escape. Then, I lose the guy and the dream cuts a bit. Now I am with a different guy in a haunted house type thing.. he tells me all about what not to do there so I don't get sprayed by blood. There was this alter in a long dark tunnel where a medusa head and some hands were. He said don't touch the medusa hand. Now I cut back to the zombie dream. Daphne (yep, from Scooby Doo) is hiding in the pantry and her cell rings for some advertisement. I see the zombie rounding the corner, trying to follow the sound. Somehow she just appears next to me and we try to escape. I tell her we should go find the dude with the rifle, whatever way he went. But, she says no and leads me down to the basement. I remember something about going down there before and there were orphans there, but not what happened. Then it got creepy The stairs to the basement were blocked, and two orphans were waiting on the flight of stairs under the barricade. Me and Daphne talked to them, telling them everything was going to be alright. The little boy with the weird cleft lip said something like 'yes, ;et us be one with them' (the zombies). Daphne said they didn't need to and she and I multiplied our bodies and told them they could eat our copies. The kids got a creepy look on their faces and agreed as they made their way downstairs. All the while, I had a creepy feeling, like the orphans were going to end up ambushing us.. But Daphne, why'd I trust Daphne anyways lol.
