      Highway to lucidity. (DEILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was a pretty awesome night. My old record of dream recalled in a single night was 8, I rose that up to 11 Only one of this was a fragment. Three of these were lucid and on one of them I completed one of the Tasks of the Year.
      Ninth of the night:

I had a False Awakening in my room and I realized the DEILD worked great. A split second later, I lost lucidity. I had to drive somewhere and I was late. I could not see properly. I headed to the the freeway and I took Northbound. I was going to pick up my wife at work. The vision was terrible. The freeway was a lot different than it is for real and I found that odd. Suddenly, I hit a dead end in the freeway and I see my car flying to the pit. "This is not possible!", I said to myself. I affirmed I was dreaming and I jumped off the car and started to fly. I saw my car crush in the ground while I was levitating in the middle of a forest. I woke up"

      Missed Dream Signs:
      - None.

      Dream Sign Noticed:
      - A lane in the freeway ending into a pit.

      Reality Check Performed:
      - None. lucidity triggered.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was a pretty awesome night. My old record of dream recalled in a single night was 8, I rose that up to 11 Only one of this was a fragment. Three of these were lucid and on one of them I completed one of the Tasks of the Year.
      Eighth of the night:

I had a False Awakening in my room and I went to my regular table to write down my dreams.
My wife shout from bed, "That was so fun!" The sudden shout scared me and while I was trying to retain the dream in my mind, I asked her what was going on. She told me she had a very funny dream. She said, "I was selling a very unhealthy food in the middle of the freeway and several people bought from me. Suddenly, the scenery changed and I was next to a freeway. It was very cloudy and about to rain. The freeway was completely empty.

I found it very weird so I decided to jump. The gravity was weird so I ensured I was indeed in a dream. Eastbound was still empty, but I saw several cars coming from Westbound. I started to fly to get away from there and I remembered the ToTY. I decided to give another shot to the Gladiators. There was a DC that was like a shaman so I asked for help. This usually helps me. I asked her if she could help me to open a portal to the Roman Age. I saw a big iron borderpost. I told her, "I will fly high and you open the portal on the top of the borderpost. Then I will go through it!" I flew and started to fly towards the borderpost but no portal appeared.

We completed various attempts without success. The magician suggested me to use a special ointment to open the portal. She told me that I would need lily flower's oil and olive oil. I summoned the lilies, then I tried to summon a bottle of Rotture Di Oro Olive Oil, however, I failed to conjure it.

I though, "That's it. Stupid gladiators. I will focus on other task and will leave this one for later." I saw the moon and I said, "Perfect" I started to fly to the moon and the dream faded. I had time to remember myself to DEILD.

      Missed Dream Signs:
      - The False Awakening.

      Dream Sign Noticed:
      - An empty freeway.

      Reality Check Performed:
      - Gravity test.

    3. New Zealand

I'll start off by mentioning how I slept last night with pen and paper by my side, in hope that I would write down keywords of my dreams throughout the night. But instead of doing this, I dreamt that I wrote keywords down, haha. Typical

So, I was in New Zealand with some random people. AK was there and she kept leaving the shed unlocked because it no longer contained things that were of value to her. In there was just my clothes and stuff. She'd taken out her photography equipment.

Outside of this shed, we were in a group of about 10, and walked on a path around this grass courtyard thingy that had some large machine-looking apparatus that was either a furnace or a rocketship.
The boots I was wearing were made of a thin, black, fake leather and they were too big for me. So I was looking around for a peg to secure them, otherwise they would've just fallen down. Luckily the place our group walked towards had a clothesline with several blue pegs on it. There were a few different types and some were broken. I chose the best one and secured the boots.

SJ was in my group. She commented on my boots, although I recall not what she said.

So after walking around the grass courtyard and arriving at the place where the clothesline with pegs was, we were about to go to some next stage.
There were security guards preventing us though.

Then the guards stamped us one by one on our hands as to give us permission to go. They used the Bunnings (some large hardware store company) stamp that I have in my room IRL.
They had stamped my left hand but it was in a slightly inconspicuous position, so I got them to stamp my right hand. They then wrote "pipe" on it too, because all of a sudden I was apparently carrying a flute of some sort in my left hand.
Another girl they stamped decided to write "New Zealand, fuck yeah!" on her hand below the stamp.

      Wife screws my lucid! (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was a pretty awesome night. My old record of dream recalled in a single night was 8, I rose that up to 11. Only one of this was a fragment. Three of these were lucid and on one of them I completed one of the Tasks of the Year.
      Seventh of the night:

I had a False Awakening in my room. It was early still but my wife was already awake. I asked her to come back to bed, but she replied she needed to iron. I got mad and told her, "This is the best time for me to become lucid, come on, you want to meet our personal goals, right? I need to become lucid to do that!!! You are going to screw it all up. If you want to archive the plans, I need to be lucid and/or astral project" Lucidity still firing up, but not just yet! (next dream) I looked for another room. I saw my parents room. My mom was not in there. The room was a very huge room with the lights on and classic music going on. They had a black sound system. My dad (nice dad) was lying in bed. The bed was twice the size of a King. I realized they needed loud music to sleep and I could not sleep with such noise.

      Missed Dream Signs:
      - False Awakening.
      - Talking about lucidity with my wife.
      - Meeting with my parents (they are 12000 miles from home)
      - The ridiculous size of their bed.

What I would have done if lucid:
      - Talk with DC to find out more about myself.

      Ignored Mantra (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was a pretty awesome night. My old record of dream recalled in a single night was 8, I rose that up to 11. Only one of this was a fragment. Three of these were lucid and on one of them I completed one of the Tasks of the Year.
      Fifth of the night:

I had various False Awakenings. I started to write down something in my journal. I was repeating a mantra within the dream about awakening within the dream and remembering a scenery. Lucidity igniting more, but not in this dream yet. I tried to avoid about thinking in other stuff and only focus on my mantras.
While lying down in bed, I felt I was imaging myself writing down a dream seating being my regular table. I was writing them down in my journal.

      Missed Dream Signs:
      - The FA in my room.
      - Not realizing the mantra was said within the dream.
      - My dream journal.

What I would have done if lucid:
      - End the dream while telling myself to DEILD. The dream quality was low so I would "reset" it.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was a pretty awesome night. My old record of dream recalled in a single night was 8, I rose that up to 11. Only one of this was a fragment. Three of these were lucid and on one of them I completed one of the Tasks of the Year.
      Fourth of the night:

I had a false awakening in my room. I was lying on my back and I felt that I almost fell from bed. I woke up and something scared me. I made noise due the scare, but my wife did not wake up. I was planning to attempt to Astral Project.

In this dream, I was writing down a dream in my journal. Basically, the imagery of this dream was me behind my journal and at the same time, I was able to view the dream I was writing down.
I picked up the Chef somewhere in the country. We were going to meet for a week.
I drew something in my journal, which represented the place where I was going to pick up the chef. I drew it for real too:

I was upset about some banners that were at this location. I remember that this place had a room where there was a small lake with a lot of trees and a small rock.
The cheff met with two guys, I realized that the "two" was a dream sign and I noted it as a side note of a missing dream sign.
But did not turn lucid for real... here is where my lucidity starts to ignite for the night.
I wrote down more stuff and I woke for real.

      Missed Dream Signs:
      - The FA in my room.
      - My dream journal.
      - The two guys plus realized I missed that dream sign within the dream.
      - The drawing was made too good over my general abilities.

What I would have done if lucid:
      - Head for a Task of the Year.

Attempting to write down a dream. (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was a pretty awesome night. My old record of dream recalled in a single night was 8, I rose that up to 11. Only one of this was a fragment. Three of these were lucid and on one of them I completed one of the Tasks of the Year.
      Third of the night:

I had a FA in my room. I went to the table in the kitchen to write down my previous dream. My wife just went to the restroom. I went to a different kitchen than waking and I wrote down my dream in a small odd white laptop that was inside a shelf. While I was typing in the dream, i realized I could not take it from the computer, so I closed it and grabbed my paper journal.
I was planning to eat an Oreo when I was done. I tried to walk to the table where I usually write down my dreams, but I could almost not see. My wife had to hold me because I was falling asleep.
She helped me to sit down in my regular chair, but I could not write the dream because I had no vision. I ignored that and I started to write down a dream.

      Missed Dream Signs:
      - The FA in my room.
      - The computer inside a shelf.
      - An unknowk kitchen.
      - My dream journal.

What I would have done if lucid:
      - Probably head for one of the short ToTY. The dream was not very vivid.

      Second of the night:

It was morning and I was in front of my boss office of the Pata negra store. It was the day for the Final Match of the World Cup. I was talking about it with my boss who was inside the office.
There was several people coming from the kitchen. Both staff and customers.
I was surprised that no one wore stuff from Spain for the final match.
The match almost ended instantly after it started.

      Missed Dream Signs:
      - On such an important event no one appeared to know.
      - The fact that the match was done in a split second.

What I would have done if lucid:

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was a pretty awesome night. My old record of dream recalled in a single night was 8, I rose that up to 11. Only one of this was a fragment. Three of these were lucid and on one of them I completed one of the Tasks of the Year.
      First of the night:

I was going to the Pata Negra store, as I had to work. It was day and the Final Match was going to take place to decide the World Champion. As I arrived, it was full of people. I was alone at the store, however, I was happy because I knew I could close up the store and go see the match.
I went to the office and they quoted me a time about when the game was going to start so I could close.
I got back to the store and I was waiting until the quoted time so I could close it up.
The time arrived, I closed the store and went to the restaurant, however, no one was there.
Someone guessed the result of the match.
I had a FA in my room. I was talking with someone about what happened with the match. I started to write down the dream and I woke up.

      Missed Dream Signs:
      - The oddity of going back and finding no one at the restaurant.
      - The FA. I have plenty, so it's one of my dream signs.
      - My own dream journal appears on several of my dreams as well.

What I would have done if lucid:
      - Probably I would talk with a DC in the dream to find more about myself.
      - I would started to DEILD in the dream to start the next one fully lucid.

    10. Task of the Month: Make a Log Squirt Blood

by , 07-13-2010 at 05:36 AM (The Nomad Chronicles)
I am in a forest in the Northwestern U.S. I am sawing my arm, but it turns into a log. A huge arm-log. I saw the log. The log squirts blood. 'HAHAHA I DID THE TASK OF THE MONTH. I MADE A LOG SQUIRT BLOOD!' HAHAHAHA I WIN. I AM THE MOST ADVANCED LUCID DREAMER ON THE PLANET.

Absinthe, The Green Fairy appears. "You idiot. You just drank some absinthe at the Club Nexus. Don't you remember. This is a hallucination in a dream."

"I am DREEEEEEEEEEEEEAMING!" I scream. I fly into the sky, and make the clouds turn into ice cream. I eat the ice cream with a bunch of cows. It feels weird. Not the ice cream, but eating it with flying cows.

The cows have a weird sky game of a sport like football using cowpies. Monkeys ride on the cows' backs, trying to fling poo into a goal.

I start laughing my ass off, and rolling around in the sky.

I wake up in the Biodome, and hit myself in the head.

by , 07-13-2010 at 12:23 AM (Sailing the Noosphere)
Absolutely horrible recall, but I post what I can.

      1. I'm playing a rock concert in an elementary school. I remember it's very cheerily decorated, which clashes somewhat with the music I decide to perform.

      2. I miss a Monday softball game for my research station's team.

      3. I find myself walking down the halls of a local college, where I meet my old cello teacher. I continue, then meet scores of people from my research station. They confront me about my behavior at a Saturday night party, and my mom finds out about my transgressions. I feel horrible.

      Swamp Ride (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was on an expedition through a swamp, on a weird amphibious bus. We were going from deep pool to deep pool (the bus could only swim in deep water), and the tourguide was getting concerned with the quality of the water. It was a sickly black colour, and bubbly sludge was gathering at the edges, hinting that the water was full of sewage.

I was sitting in a seat near the front. I looked down at my feet, and was alarmed to see that water had leaked inside, and was already up to my waist! I pulled out my phone, which was soaked, but it worked fine.

I seriously should have become lucid in this one. Two dream signs back to back? Buses and wet phone??

      Being a DC (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I've often wondered about the nature of dream characters, or DCs. Are they manifestations of subconscious desires, real people you meet on the "astral plane", artificial intelligence created by our mind but nonetheless "real", or simply meaningless characters like those in a video game. My personal view lands me somewhere between those last two options.

This was an peculiar dream which gave me a greater appreciation of and interest in DCs.

A man who I vaguely knew (not in real life) was going to die, and his doctors had decided to put him in a coma in order that he could live out his remaining hours in a "lucid dream" state. I was at his bedside with a few of his friends when they put him in the coma, and I then shared a taxi home with them. Before we left, the doctors told us that he would not wake up again, and it was an absolute mathematical certainty that he would die in a couple of hours. We were driving past (of all places) my old school, when I thought I saw him outside on the footpath. I made the driver stop the car, and the three of the man's friends and I got out to look. Sure enough, it was him. He was standing at the side of the road, just staring as if deep in thought.

We were about to go over and talk to him to see what was going on, but I put out my arm to stop the others.
"Wait," I said. "Didn't the doctors tell us that there was no chance he was going to wake up, the condition is irreversible et cetera? Logically, if he is here, seemingly fine, then this must be his dream!" The others thought for a minute, then slowly came to the same conclusion I had.
There was no room for shades of grey in this dream, if something was stated as fact, it was. So using the facts I had been given, I formed the only logical conclusion. I was someone else's DC. I checked my hand, but it seemed normal.
"Of course it's normal," I thought. "Dream characters aren't supposed to be able to tell they're only part of a dream, but some of the smarter ones do work it out."
I may have been on the cusp of a major epiphany about life here...

I also concluded that my entire life, memories, experiences had not really happened, except to me- and that my life was basically meaningless. This was not the depressing thought I expected it to be. I accepted it, and wondered whether I should inform the man that he was dreaming. In the end I made up my mind that I should. If he was lucid, he would have a much better time, I was sure of it.

It is true, dreams can have a profound effect on how you view life and reality. -Even if it's just an interesting thought exercise.

      Ice Ice Baby (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was an odd dream, where I was lucid from the start and just kind of went with it. The earliest part I can remember is emerging from below deck on a sailboat. It was a clear night, and I was alone on the boat. Looking over the side, I could see that the boat was moving extremely fast. There was no wind, and the boat left very little disturbance in the water behind it.
"Who's steering this?" I thought. Right then, the boat veered off course and headed straight for a mysterious rock wall in the middle of the sea- which rose up out of nowhere. I charged back to the steering wheel and spun it hard to the right, just in time to avoid the rocks. Unfortunately it then went into a spin, and by the time I had lined up the wheel again, I had crashed into an ice shelf.

I might have woken up here. There's a bit of missing time, but the next thing I remember is chronologically right after the previous paragraph.

I climbed down the front of the boat onto the ice. It was now daytime, and the reflection of the sun on the ice was making everything seem very white. I stumbled on, and lost lucidity after a bit. I soon arrived in a small town. One minute I was in a frozen wasteland, then I glanced up and there were wooden buildings all around me. It looked a bit like an inuit settlement. I saw a vending machine through a frozen shop window, and went inside to take a look. For some reason, the vending machine sold not food, but DVDs. I "recognised" one of the movies (which, when I woke up, realised did not actually exist), and tried to buy it unsuccessfully. The machine was full of ice. The shop attendant walked up beside me, and we had an interesting conversation. I can't remember the details, but it turned out he was some sort of demon/vampire fellow. He explained that (whatever he was) were very misunderstood, and proceeded to show me some of his special abilities. He could phase through solid objects, and levitate himself as well as things around him. The demon guy spotted a friend of his pulling up outside in a black truck. We went outside to talk to him. I was introduced, then the friend began to tell us something important. Right as he started talking, a huge angry cop came out from behind his truck and shot him with a strange kind of tranquilizer. It fired a tiny needle (which found its target in the truck-owner's neck) which injected a freezing agent. The man froze solid from an expanding area around his neck. He tried to run away, but the slowing effect of the ice eventually stopped him dead. The cop laughed cruelly and turned to the demon guy and I. He said something terribly offensive to me (which I cannot recall now) and shot me with the freezer gun. He got me right in the chest, and I quickly felt the tight, slowing sensation of the ice spreading out to my limbs. Then I realised that the very idea of a "freezer gun" was absurd. I was still icing up, so I used all my strength to get over to the cop and grab his arm. I forced all the coldness in my body down that arm, transferring it to him. He froze like an ice cube in a couple of seconds, his face frozen in anger. Free of the slowing effect, I used my newfound strength to punch him in the stomach. He snapped in two, then the two pieces hit the ground and shattered.

The demon guy looked at me strangely.
"I guess you must be a demon too!" he laughed. "Follow me." He ran up the street lightning fast and I found I was able to keep up with him. Next, we took off into the air. It started raining. The rain was quite warm, and made of small droplets. We flew around in the rain for a few minutes. The feeling of the droplets hitting me was incredibly real. I looked down, and saw that all the snow had melted. The snow's absence revealed grass and bright flowers

      Driving Practice (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I've only ever driven a car once before, a couple of years ago, and I'm due to start lessons soon, so it was on my mind.

I was driving down a not-very-busy road, but kept stalling. I remembered how to start the car and get it going. Although I can't remember now what order I did any of it in. I put the gearstick in neutral, held down the clutch, turned the key, then eased on the accelerator and let out the clutch... or something like that. The car started anyway.
