    1. Tesser and Shotgun Nightmares

by , 10-25-2014 at 01:53 PM (Lucid Time!)
I am playing a video game that has become very popular called 'Tesser'. It starts off with a cut-scene where a character (who looks like Marcus) explains the dimensions. If you draw a dot, it exists in no dimensions. If you draw a second dot and connect them you make a line; that exists in one dimension. If you draw a second line and connect them, you make a square; that exists in two dimensions. If you draw a second square and connect them, that makes a cube; and it exists in three dimensions. If you draw a second cube, and connect them; you create a tesseract.
Now, the paper you are drawing your shapes on. Just as the paper you are drawing on looks two dimensional, if you look closely it is actually a little bit three dimensional. In the same way, three dimensional reality is a little bit fourth-dimensional. That is how the fictional company in the game was able to make a tesseract and travel to parallel dimensions.
In the game, you walk around a three-dimensional world, but everything is tinted a color. When you tesseract, the tint changes. So you have a Red,Yellow,Green,Cyan,Blue, and Magenta dimension. And they are all slightly different versions of the level, so you can say for instance come across a gap. In one dimension, it might be a wide, impassible gap, but in another dimension there might be a bridge across it.
But you will die if you tesseract yourself over-top a hazard or inside a wall. Also you can only move to dimensions close to you in color. For example, if you are in the green dimension, you can only move to the blue and the yellow dimensions.

I am watching an anime. It stars me, and is supposed to be about my ventures in lucid dreaming. I am in the woods with an old man and am carrying a shotgun. The old man is one of the sensei/master types and he his helping me hunt little demons that stop me from lucid dreaming. He says he has a surprise at the end.
We end up killing a very unsatisfying amount of lucid demons this time around. Just as we are getting ready to leave, he spots a demon owl. My character looks through the scope and sees a magnificent white creature roosting on a high branch.
"Are you sure that's a lucid demon?"
"Yes, now shoot it before it flies away!"
He fires, and then lowers the gun, and when he does Manei has taken the place of the owl. She feels for her chest and sees the blood pouring from it. She falls off of the branch and into a deep thicket.
      My character screams "NOOO!!!"
He turns to the Sensei character who is smiling evily. As soon as he sees the evil smile he blows his head off with the shotgun at point blank, and then falls over and stars crying. There is one of those shots of the eyes that they give at emotional moments in animes.
A thick fog rolls in and all of the shots are upside down. Some of them have glitches, as if there are scratches on the CD or something. There is some music playing that is supposed to be sad but it sounds like a very distorted synth piece. It was at that point that I decided that I wanted to 'turn off' the anime, and that I hated it. But I couldn't.
      ...
The scene of Manei being shot repeated over and over. I kept on trying to stop it.
      ...

My character had gone to lucid dreaming "hell" for killing his dream guide. I became more aware that this was a dream and gained a degree of control over my character, I was able to interface with him, talk to him.
A demon approached me, that was supposed to be my character's torturer. He wore black robes, and looked a little like Darth Maul. His head hung at a 90 degree angle to one side. He put both hands on the side of his head and forced it upright, cracking his neck.
For some reason this scene repeated several times as well.
The demon readied his attack. He had these flaming bladed chains, four of them come out of his back. It reminded me of slenderman's tentacles.
"Don't take this from him, fight back!"
      "I will!" He grunted.
The demon sent his chains but my character ran under them to melee range and fired off several rounds from his shotgun. It was completely ineffective. He dodged a couple of attacks with the chains, then started flying.
      "I...I still have my powers!"
The fight became like a 2D sidescroller video game, and after a few minutes the dream faded.

The anime somehow ended with dream music as I was waking up. This was a rock soundtrack with a very talented and amazing singer. I forget the lyrics but they had to do with forgetting your past and moving on.
    2. 6 Nov: Tesseract, monsters in the storm and the EU fortress

      by , 11-06-2012 at 01:25 PM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening

It's been the 3rd time in the past couple of weeks that I wake up obsessed with this word: tesseract. And it rang a bell but I just couldn't remember what this word meant, so only the third morning of waking up with this word hanging in my mind I decided to google it. The tesseract is an hypercube.

I'm sure I had come across this word and this object before, but I was actually in doubt that such word even existed. This only proves that the unconscious mind knows a lot more than my conscious mind can recall.
Is there any connection between dreams and tesseracts? Probably a reminder that dreams are existences in other dimensions, beyond the four that we experience through our senses. Therefore, they are like the extension of the cube to an hypercube.
      Anyway, back to the dreams...

(...) There's a huge storm forming, enormous dark clouds and even a tornado in the distance. I am at the door of what looks like a huge barn and I start calling everybody inside. There are endless doors and windows and I start closing them carefully one by one. I go up in the attic or mezzanine and I see some of my childhood toys forgotten there. I feel nostalgia and I decide to bring it down with me. That's when I see some menacing dark figures outside. I realize it's not just the storm we have to worry about.
When the storm calms down, still very early morning, I go outside with a kid to see the damages. I tell the kid to stay close to me but he disappears. Then I see these huge black dogs with birds' heads. They've taken the kid away. Some lady who was hiding in the bushes tells me they are mythical animals from the Mexican folklore, who take children alive and no one knows for what.
      (...)
Then I think I am on a boat to some island to save the boy.
      (...)
Then I am at what seems to be the EU quarter in Brussels. Me and a friend, decide to crash and disrupt an important meeting. Like the "Yes Men", we enter a meeting pretending to be some of the delegates and we sit on the table, just by the side of Christine Lagarde from IMF. My colleague opens her briefcase and instead of papers, it contains lots and lots of ties, with different patterns and colours. They start looking at us. We say the problem that they are so square is that they all dress in black and white and for the good of mankind they must wear colourful ties. Then we start walking between the chairs of the delegates trying different ties on them, suggesting colours and so on. At first no one reacts, then Lagarde shouts at us. We say to her that instead of spending thousands of euros on Louis Vouitton bags, she should also wear a colourful tie, as she clearly is more a man than a lady. That's when we're kicked out.
Then I don't remember well, but I find out this kind of EU-city is a fortress on top of a mountain, almost like Mount Olympus. And I want to continue doing a lot of crap to sabotage it but I'm under surveillance, so I decide to fly outside the fortress' walls. My friend warns me of the monsters that guard its boundaries, but I go anyway, because it is the perfect shortcut to avoid guards and enter the buildings through a window.
Then I am flying around this fortress and then I don't remember.

    3. Dream gets... Physical

      by , 10-18-2011 at 09:48 PM (Ultra-Rad Dreamage Supreme)
This dream started out in the void. No landscape, no characters, nothing; just my dream-self and the absence of everything else. At first I didn’t know where I was or if I was dreaming, having sleep paralysis, or something similar. I tried touching my hands and spinning myself around to gain control, but to no avail. At last I yelled as loud as possibly could. Absolute silence. Fortunately, this confirmed that I was indeed dreaming and lucidity was achieved!

So there I was floating out in the void. It's like my dreamscape was waiting for me to manifest it! So I decided to have some fun with physics/geometry. I had always wondered what a tesseract (4 dimensional cube) actually looked like, and now that I wasn't in dumb old 3D reality, I decided it'd be a prime time to conjure one up. It was easy to create the tesseract shape we all love and know from images and videos, though I can't recall what color it was. Next, I tried transforming it into a true 4D structure, which is where I started to run into problems. Every time I tried "folding" the object, it seemed to crumple up. The more I tried to manifest it, the more I began to feel an upward pull on my body and become panicked, like I was going to get launched out into oblivion like in that really dumb movie "The Forgotten." I decided it wasn't worth losing control of the dream, so I settled for doing something a little more feasible.

I ended up conjuring forth two blue orbs and placing them opposite each other at either end of the void (if it can even have an end). I then accelerated them to tremendous speeds and crashed them into each other dead on. They exploded into billions of tiny particles in a fantastic bloom effect that was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Further observing the collision, the particles, all orbiting their common center of mass, started to coalesce into a sphere, which eventually settled into a swirling disk. Regardless of whether it was entirely accurate to real world physics or not, it was insanely radical, and that's what counts! I collided orbs several more times, making them hit each other at skewed angles. This produced structures that resembled spiral galaxies. dead on collisions between a small orb and a large orb produced structures with protruded rings. Collisions between fast objects and slow objects painted comet-like smears across the void. I went on colliding orbs until the dream faded out and eventually I woke up.

All in all, it was the coolest dream I've ever had. Prior to this dream, I had reinitiated my practice of daily mediation as well as multiple ADA sessions every day. I think both of those had a lot to do with this dream’s success.
    4. The 4th dimension, Slight disorientation, Trance

I took a one week break from working on projects, and it did a lot of good to my dream recall.
Unfortunately I'm back to working now, which means no more WBTB/WILDs.
My dream recall has already suffered notably from this.
It's quite unfortunate, I felt like I was finally getting the hang of WILDing.

      The 4th Dimension

I'm at uni, walking through the corridors towards my classroom.
For some reason I end up in what seems to be some sort of physics laboratory.
I question whether this is where I belong.
I remember that I am actually majoring in CS and not physics, and that this is definitely not a room I've been in before.
But as the teacher enters the room I decide to ignore this for some reason, and just go with it.

I don't know what the course is about, but I recognize elements from quantum physics.
Then the teacher talks about the fourth dimension (spacial dimension, not time).
I know a few things about that, so I'm not too surprised when she shows us a hologram of a tesseract.
But then she says she will materialize it. How on earth is she gonna do that?

The teacher approaches me and hands me.... well... a tesseract... with transparent walls.
I assume that it is some sort of model with joints that allows it to be moved similar to a rotation in the 4th dimension.
But then I remember that this cannot work, it is physically impossible.
As I touch the object, I realize that it is indeed solid. There are no joints, and all surfaces on it are perfectly solid.
But I can rotate it the same way I would be able to rotate a 4 dimensional object... at least in theory:

This fucks with my mind quite a bit.

But then I understand that I am indeed dreaming, and don't understand why I didn't notice this any sooner.
For some reason I still feel the need to figure out how this works though.
How can I even interact with this? The dimensions do not match.
But then I realize that I am somehow trapped in 4 dimensional space.
Every object in the class room is 4 dimensional.
My chair can no longer hold my body and I somehow fall through it.
As I look up and see everything appear normal yet consisting of impossible shapes, my head starts to hurt and I wake up.

      Slight disorientation

I'm home, hanging upside down from the lusters.
A friend of mine enters the house.

"What the fuck are you doing up there?"

I look down... why the fuck am I hanging from the lusters?
Or maybe I am not really hanging from the ceiling?

"You mean down here. Why are you standing upside down over there?"
"What? I am standing on the floor!"
"Yes, and I'm hanging from the ceiling. What's your point?"
      "Dude..."
"The ceiling is down, and the floor is up!"
      "No, it isn't."
      "Yes it is!"
      "Why?"
      "Because I say so."

Gravity inverts and he falls down onto the ceiling.

      "What the fuck?"
      "Told you so."
      "I guess you were right."

      Trance

I am sitting with a girl my age in front of a campfire.
We have setup a tent over here, and it seems we are in the middle of the desert.
But I can't tell for sure, it's pretty dark already.

I realize the girl isn't human.
Her hair is mixed with leaves... they are growing out of her head, just like normal hair.
When I look into her eyes I can also clearly feel that she is not human.
However she does look human, except for her hair.
But I don't mind, I feel like this is the way it is supposed to be.
I remember we both came here in order to get into some sort of trance with the goal to be enlightened.

      Wait a second... what the....?

      Oh! I'm dreaming!
She looks at me, as if she just realized something.
But she doesn't say anything, and hands me what appears to be a native american peace pipe.
      She smiles:

      "You need to smoke it."

For some reason I feel like something special will happen if I smoke it.
After all the goal was to get into trance right?
I take a deep breath of smoke, and I instantly feel it in my head.
I get extremely lightheaded, and have trouble not falling over, even though I'm sitting.

      "Good!"

      She smokes the pipe herself.
Holy shit, what is going on, I feel like I'm falling through the chair, into the sand below it.
I loose control over my body, and start to hallucinate quite vividly.
At first it's similar to HI during SP, but then it gets much stronger.
I see bright and vivid colors everywhere, intermixing with the landscape.
I see plants growing out of the sand at an insanely fast rate.
They start to blossom and fill the air with glowing pollen.
The girl starts growing feathers over her body and flies away.
