    1. The night with 3 (almost 4!) LDs

      by , 02-08-2014 at 06:47 AM
Three DILDs in one night with a false awakening while attempting to DEILD. In all of the dreams I had near perfect control and everything was amazingly clear. I did not have to give any verbal commands or look at/rub my hands. I also achieved my first LD a little over a week ago, a second a couple days after that, and nothing until last night. All of this after about a month of ADA and self awareness practice.

      DILD One (0350):
I am with two girls that I do not recognize in a neighborhood with several parked cars along the streets and surrounded by a mixture of houses and apartments. We are standing outside an apartment complex. There is grass in between the curbs and the sidewalks.

I suddenly become lucid although I have no idea why. I remember that I wanted to feel something in the environment during this period of lucidity because looking at my hands in my two previous LDs have had little success in stabilization. I kneel down and feel the ground. There are two distinct bumps that I feel with my index finger. I am very surprised at how realistic the bumps feel. They have many small bumps on them that I can feel very clearly. The environment is super clear at this point.

I now feel very happy and exclaim to the two female DCs that I am dreaming and as I do I jump on the car right next to me to show them. From there I jump onto a car about 20 or 30 feet down the road. I turn around and look back at them and the apartment. I then jump onto the roof of the apartment which was quite an enormous leap, but it was effortless.

The two girls followed me up and then I decide that I wanted to reach the very top of the apartments because all of a sudden I am not at the top but I do not think to look up to see where the top went. I start to ascend the apartments by doing a combination of jumping and climbing. The two girls follow me every step of the way. Along the way I am acutely aware of how the roofing tiles feel on my hands as I touch them. Very grainy and some moss as well. It felt like my hands were getting dirtier and dirtier. I finally reach the top and look down. I believe I must have woken up right after this.

      DILD Two (0500):
I am with with this random hooker who lives on a farm. I suppose she is around my age. I am kind of just hanging out. She has an advertisement for her hourly rate (something like $490 per hour). She gets all kinds of random customers, although I have no interest, I am kind of just observing things (but not actually watching her have sex with anyone).

I tell her that her price is absurd, she agrees but tells me that she still gets customers. I am in her barn/house now. There is another girl in there and a fat older man with a mustache (presumably their dad). I am walking through the room naked and shortly thereafter it dawns on me that I am dreaming although there was nothing that occurred which made me realize it (I don’t think it was because I was naked, but it could have been); I just randomly knew.

I stopped walking and touched this wooden picnic table to feel the texture for stabilization. I then climbed on it because I wanted to get a good look at everything to see how realistic it all looked. I saw random wrapped presents of various colors, balloons, and some wooden beams which ran to the ceiling with Christmas lights hanging around in random places. Colors really started to pop out at me. The Christmas lights really reflected off of the presents in a realistic and beautiful way. The colors I noticed most were reds and greens, with an emphasis on the reds. Everything looked so real, it was astonishing.

I wanted to explore but I knew that this barn/house was not the place that I wanted to do it at. So I started to walk towards the door. I passed the other girl (the non-hooker), stopped and grinned, and told her to take her shirt off. She looked offended so I grabbed her shirt and took it off myself and squeezed a bare tit. They weren’t amazing tits but it was still hilarious and I got a kick out of my sudden splurge into anarchy.

I as I laughed I continued on and reached the door out of the barn/house. It was nearly pitch black outside. I could see dim stars in the sky. I decided that I would leave the area by flying away. I jumped up in the air but a part of me for some reason knew that it wouldn’t work, and therefore I could not fly. Disappointed, I decided that I would walk back into the barn and figure it out from there since I could see better in there.

I go back over to the door to the barn/house, open it and walk through, and suddenly I am back outside where I just came from. I realized the dream world was starting to collapse because things were starting to get pretty blurry. Knowing I was about to lose the dream, I attempted to DEILD and I immediately laid down and closed my eyes.

      DEILD One (ALMOST!):
A few seconds after closing my eyes from my previous dream I feel myself become aware in my real body. I can feel my hands closed together across my stomach. Hoping to induce sleep paralysis, I did not move a muscle or open my eyes. Almost immediately, I felt tingling all over my body and knew that my body was undergoing sleep paralysis.

I waited until the tingling stopped. For a few moments I was expecting to be in another dream world automatically but then I remembered that I have to open my eyes first. It was weird though because it felt like I was still in my real body. I open my eyes and I am in an exact replica of my room. Such an exact copy in fact that I don’t even bother to reality check because I am convinced that I am awake (except for a light being on at the computer desk; doh!).

My hands are still crossed on my stomach and I look around. My wife, who is sleeping next to me in real life as well, tells me that what I had just attempted (the DEILD) was a dangerous method and that I should be careful (but how could she have known; stupid me!). Since I believe that I had woken up I close my eyes and go back to sleep.

A few minutes later I wake up for real and the room is naturally very dark and I then realize that I was made a fool of by my own mind; HOW FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!

      DILD Three (0710)
I am on top of this building looking down at these men who are telling me how much they are going to kill me. Suddenly I am right next to them and they keep going on about it. I tell them that since I am dreaming, they can’t possibly hurt me. Now suddenly I am about 100 yards away from them with my AR-15. I adjust the stock and look down the holographic sight and start shooting at them.

Shooting seems very realistic, much different from video games. I barely miss one of them my first couple of shots. Then one dashes out and tries to close the distance between us and I continuously shoot at him. I hit him several times until he drops. Another one of them is behind me so I turn around and shoot him several times until he dies. He seemed to be in agony as he fell. I believe that I was only semi-lucid for this part of the dream because I know if I was fully lucid, I wouldn’t have bothered with the firefight at all and just would have went exploring.

After the firefight I became fully aware, possibly because of what I said to the DC earlier. I remembered a trick I wanted to try in order to get to somewhere really fast. I jumped up to this really high ledge effortlessly and looked at this blue latticed wall about 2 inches thick. My goal was to draw a door on the wall and open it, Beetlejuice style.

I think to myself that I need chalk, so I reach my hands into my pockets and feel around. I find a really small piece of white chalk. It’s not as big as I wanted but I conclude that it will suffice. I then begin to draw a door on the wall with the chalk, skipping over the gaps due to the lattice pattern. Once I finish the borders of the door, I draw a big circle on the left for the knob and begin to fill it in.

Once it’s finished, I put my hand up to the handle, look away (so my expectations of what should look real don’t screw up this experiment), turn my hand as if I’m turning the knob and pull out. As I pull out the door comes out perfectly. It was shaped exactly how I drew it. I was incredibly excited that it worked. But since I could already see through the wall because of the lattice, it did not go anywhere.

I then really wanted to find a wall that was solid in order to open up a portal to another place. I turn my head to my right, and suddenly I’m staring at the back of my parents house. I go up to the door, look through the window on the door. Inside I see their two cats. The gray one (Holly) was looking at me. I decided to go in, so I pushed my face on the glass and willed myself to phase through the door. It was a weird feeling, and I felt some resistance, but it worked. The cat looked frightened but didn’t run.

Inside, I looked around. I hear my parents talking in the kitchen. Several of their small lights are on. For the most part everything looks just like it really does. Then my mom notices me and is surprised to see me. The dream ends soon after.
    2. The Darkness

      by , 02-08-2014 at 06:17 AM
      A fairly awesome LD.

It is night time/early morning and I am awake with my younger brother. I see an orange feral cat in the dark looking for another cat. Suddenly, fear kicks in and I tell my brother to get on to the couch so then we both jump onto one of the couches and lie down. Strangely, my brother appears to not be on the couch but rather he is standing in front of me yet, I can feel him next to me.
I realise that I must be dreaming. As a test, I try to jump and fly. I do not fly but I end up jumping abnormally high. I, then, quickly run to the stairs to go down them but I have an urge to look back. As I turn around to go back upstairs I think of Slenderman (at this point, I’m pretty certain that, by thinking of him, I had just turned my dream into a nightmare) but nothing visible is there except for an ominous, dark and evil presence (think the Necromancer/Sauron). I then run downstairs into the kitchen (where it’s also very dark) to my dad (probably making some food). I feel that I’m being chased by the presence so I shout “tempus of light” (tempus meaning time in Latin) and suddenly there is a strong flash of light (maybe Gandalf’s scene with Sauron got to me) repelling this darkness. My dad remarks that I made the room pretty bright. I get the feeling he wants me to shout it again. So I shout again and again each time repelling the darkness but not destroying it (I probably should have tried flicking a light switch at this point) so I try another plan. I try to create some sort of a ball to trap him with. So I attempt to create a pokeball-like object which takes a few tries but it works eventually but I don’t recall doing anything with this ball. I then shout something like “tempus of water” (the presence in the darkness has become a more of a physical entity now) which floods the house with water which the entity doesn’t like but soon, the water recedes. I then try different things like “tempus of…” (substituting water with things like fire, earth and wind) which is quite effective. Eventually, the entity is destroyed somehow but my dad quickly points out that I’ve obliterated most of the house.

There is some sort of a memory jump and I seem to have become inspired by my abilities so I decide to flood a desert. I find a door which is still standing and I open it with the intent of there being a desert on the other side. Nothing happens. I try again and it works this time. I walk through the door to find myself in a hot dry desert with a red sky (probably what Mars is like) but there appear to be a large group of (what looks like) 19th Century Egyptologists chatting together. I get ready to flood the desert by trying to materialise some sort of a switch but as I do, there is some sort of an amazing blast from either a volcano (though I saw none before) or and nuclear bomb right in front of us and the earth itself appeared to be shaking. The heat and bright light is extremely vivid. I run out.

I know that I did other things but I can remember nothing specific.

    3. Day 2 - Anapana Sati - Mindfulness meditation

I meditated for about 10 min in the rec room at work. Which was fuking hard to do with Rosie O'Donald blaring from friggin TV babbling about how awesome she is. And that stupid place doesn't have a remote for the TV, so no chance of shutting her up without hopping on a chair to reach the invisible buttons on top of the tv.

Will meditate again before bed, same as last 2 days.

      2.7.14 Friday

      Last night bed 11pm -4:47am

Short night, plus I took some REM rebound aid (haha, wine).

Had a not so bad dream. Although dreams that start "I'm in a room or house" are, well, I owuld rather have some exciting things happen.

      DR:
So, I'm in a room, and I hear a helicopter. I pull the curtain away, that's flying in the breathe. I see a blue helicopeter hovering really close, and I tell someone in the room.

I look again, from another window, and now I see that it's a hummingbird. He is all blue. His feathers are not smooths like you would expect, but a bit ruffled. He has some red strands on his head, hanging down. He is beautiful.

I'm in another room now, and the hummingbird is inside. He flew in through the opened top part of the window, which kinda leans away from the frame. He is fluttering between window and white curtain. I gently grab him with the curtain and lift him up to the open part of the window. He takes a few seconds to make it out. He pauses to look at some fat flies in the abundant spider webs.

    5. 07 Feb: poor vs rich and riding a dragon

      by , 02-08-2014 at 12:24 AM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening

(...) I live in a poor neighbourhood. My family sells clothes in a small shop in a shady corner. Some bullies come to collect money from us, but they get more interested in myself and I have to run through back alleys to escape them. At some point I enter a back door of a building and find myself at some kind of posh shopping center. I continue running, but I have time for some observations. I see, for instance, a lady trying on some jewelry the shop keeper put over the counter and as they turn around for a second, I manage to grab a beautiful necklace, but I throw it away before exiting with it. It would be so helpful to sell it and make some money for my family, but I can't. It's not so much that I find it absolutely wrong, but I believe there's a good chance it has an alarm of some sort and I would be caught and it really wasn't worthwile. So I drop it and keep running. I exit through another door and I find myself crossing an oriental-style spa. It's so soothing, but if they see me there, I'll be caught and jailed, so I keep running. I finally exit the building and get to a non-urbanized area, by a riverbed. The sun is setting and I duck under some bushes. I stay there until it's dark and I sense that there's no one looking for me. I then walk through a dirt road and I find a well. I look at it and see the moon reflected on the water and I feel an absolute sense of peace and detachment. I touch the rough stones of the well and have a strange feeling that they are moving. Scared, I fall on the ground and covered in mud, I see a dragon arising from the well, the stones becoming his scales. Is he going to hurt me? I feel that it's up to me. It all depends if I run from him or if I tame him. So, in a corageous decision, I grab some scales on his neck and I decide to ride it. He turns his head and looks menacing, but then he talks to me and he says something magic I can't pronounce even if I wanted. But I understand he is going to take me somewhere.
He drops me at some big palace like hotel or something. I wonder how I can go inside covered in mud, but then he merges with me and his scales transform into a beautiful golden scaled mermaid strapless dress and I look like a queen. The doors open for me and I'm inside. But I keep feeling a stranger and everytime I cross paths with someone on the lobby, at the hallways, I fear that they will see through me and notice that I don't belong. But they don't.
I see everyone heading to some kind of concert room and I follow them, trying to mingle. Some old rich couple starts talking to me, I have to lie about a few things, and I wonder if I'll be asked for a ticket a the door and look stupid for not having one. They do ask for ticket and I don't have, but the way I look, they don't even doubt I haven't paid for the show, they believe I just forgot and allow me in. I can't believe it is so simple. Some guy offers me a coat and then I see why. The doors open to an open air amphitheatre over a hill and it's a chilly night. We take our seats and we get a package. If we're on an even row we must open it to the right and if we're on an odd row we must open it to the left (or vice-versa). Inside are some kind of 3D goggles and other weird gadgets. I wonder what this show is about. Then I see some kind of gigantic molecular structures with lights floating above us and I'm said the show is about to start.

    6. A discrepancy with a book

      by , 02-08-2014 at 12:14 AM
(Side note: It occurred to me yesterday, lucidity works best for me when I'm focused on a specific task, as with defusing nightmares, and that's probably something I could put to work for me more. So before going to bed today, I tried typing out one of my dream goals with the heading Task of the Day.)

I was flipping through the just-released final book in a series, the Wheel of Time, when it occurred to me that this series already ended. I get online to explain the discrepancy, and there's some explanation that this new book is an optional epilogue with bonus materials and illustrations and so on. I realize this is a dream. My first instinct is to just continue with what I was doing anyway, but right afterward I think, no, what I was doing was boring. There is no way I am going to waste a dream sitting around my IRL home on the computer. (Although come to think of it, a dream computer could probably do some interesting things too.) That decided, I immediately set out to perform the task I set for myself. (Successfully remembered!) The first step is finding a doorway or other way of changing scenes, so I head for the door.

Before I get there, however, I get distracted: I realize I'm holding the t-shirt I'd taken off earlier in the non-lucid part of the dream. But although I hadn't put on another shirt afterward, I'm fully clothed now, which I think of as a convenient bit of dream logic. I remember a previous lucid dream where I'd tried to transform a shirt into something else, not very successfully, so the presence of a spare now makes me want to try again. I decide to just transform it into a robe, that should be easy, I'll just lengthen it and create an opening in the front. I see there's an opening at the front of the collar now, so I take hold of either side and pull as if tearing it, extending that opening to the bottom, seeing that it's grown longer as I go. I hold it up to look at it - it's got the shape I pictured, but it looks like a poorly-sewn costume, like something a child would make. It's got a piece of plastic sticking out of it, as if a price tag's been torn off, and there's a tangle of loose threads and frayed edges across the opening in the front. I tear that tangle off, then realize I'm waking up.
(It occurred to me afterward that both shirts had been specific shirts I actually own IRL. Makes me wonder if I'd have an easier time if, rather than just the general idea of a robe, I'd aimed for something more specific. Still, though: a more successful transformation of an object than the last attempt.)
