    1. A Glitch in the Matrix

Two lucids in as many nights!

      EXT. HIGHWAY - NIGHT

A large redwood tree has fallen over a highway but cars are able to pass under it. One car stops and "glitches" jerkily, as when a random pedestrian turns into Agent Smith in The Matrix. Then it drives backwards, returning to the fallen tree. (Did the car travel back in time?) The glitchiness and backwardness of the situation triggers short-lived lucidity. (See yesterday's DJ entry.)

    2. Task of the Month for January 2015

      by , 01-11-2015 at 11:14 PM
Ok guys I need your help...I don't know what I did or what this counts as...

Went to bed earlier than usual (before 12:00am) and I had intentions all day to make sure to keep the TOTM on my mind. After about 5 good hours of sleep, I did a WBTB. I keep up with my mantra (I lucid dream) then every now and then I would add (I walk and fly backwards). Somewhere within the nodding in and out of NL's, I recall being lucid and I told myself don't forget to walk backwards. I did walk backwards and then for a second I stopped and told myself, "Not like that!" BTW, I have no idea why I said that. Then I kinda 'skated' backwards (like on an escalator going backwards) when I was telling myself to fly. Then all of a sudden I lost Lucy and found some guy telling me he was going to marry me and I involuntarily went with the non-lucid

So...I have no idea what this counts for (if it counts at all ).

Just trying to be honest because being an honest person has always had a lot to do with me being lucid or not.

Even if this doesn't count, I am still willing to keep trying because my stability sucks lately. One Love.

    3. Walking backwards and stumbling against a wall of bushes.

Walking backwards and stumbling against a wall of bushes. (WBTB)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

This was an odd way to get lucid, well, not really but the situation is. Having here a bit of a hard time adjusting to the winter in my new place, it is humid and very cool, and the heat at the house is not strong enough for me (I am used to San Diego year round summer) So I woke up around 5am after waking up a million times earlier and feeling the cold hitting my bones... got frustrated and got into the computer. After 30 minutes or so, I went back to bed, hoping i would fall asleep fast as I was sleepy. As I was falling asleep, I was thinking like "some WBTB... maybe I turn lucid."

And pretty much I found myself in a dream, however, it was not a WILD but I had a false awakening and I felt that I was in a dream, even though, I was still feeling cold. I grabbed a little lamp that I had and I figured it would no longer work. As I turned it on, it started to do a very weird play of random colored lights, knowing I was indeed dreaming.

I got out from bed and glided outside from home. I was happy I finally fell asleep and I was feeling refreshed from the lucid. I was in the middle of the road and it was night. This was similar to the road in front of my house, and there were no cars. I saw a wall of bushes, similar to this:

      I recalled
"Walk backwards until you bump into something/someone. Turn around to see what it is. (Jenkees)" so I turned around and start walking backwards, assuming I would stumble against the bushes. It took (what it felt) a while to even hit something. As I did several steps back, way more than the distance from where I was at first place and the bushes. I was tempted to look back to see what was going on, but I figured I could fail the task, so I just kept walking backwards for a while until I hit a ton of leaves. The bushes were different now, as it was like branches with autumm brownish leaves. I felt satisfied as accomplishing this task.

I focused it was time to go kick Dark Vather's butt (a new dare I just got) and maybe fly to the sun in the process (an anyone dare and old goal of mine) but as soon as I started levitating to fly to space, I lost the dream like instantly and woke up.

From here, I had a chain of mini-lucids and double consciousness state, with a very blurr memory of what happened.
    4. Give me back my car! (NLD)

      by , 11-12-2014 at 06:17 PM
I was returning to my car in a parking lot, and when I went around to the driver's side door, I was surprised to find the headlights on. This was surprising. Had I left them on somehow? I hoped the battery hadn't run down too much. But then I noticed the passenger side door was open as well. I peeked into the backseat to make sure no one had gotten in and was hiding back there, then went around to close the passenger door. At that point I saw three guys in front of the car, one holding jumper cables. I'm not sure how they got my car open but apparently their aim was to use it to help jumpstart the car next to me. It looked like they had just finished. I indicated the other car, from which I could distinctly hear the purr of the engine, and asked "So it's running now?" to confirm my impression what had just taken place.

Things seemed resolved so I was about to get in and drive away when I discovered that one of the men was now in the driver's seat and my husband, who hadn't been in the dream at all before this, was occupying the passenger seat. When I asked if I could have my car back, the driver said something like, "I just need to do this first," and started backing up. I don't know if he thought he was being helpful by backing out of the parking space, but the car kept rolling backward, and since there was no room for me inside, I was trying to run backwards right next to it while keeping my grip on the passenger side door, which was still open in front of me. This was challenging and I worried I might fall and be dragged across the pavement. It occurred to me that it might almost be worth it if it made the guy realize how unhelpful he was being, but I managed to keep my balance.

The guy kept backing up to the point where he—accidentally, it seemed—overshot the edge of the parking lot altogether and went rolling backward down a grassy embankment, me still hanging on outside and struggling to keep my balance and pace them. Finally the ground leveled out and the car gradually rolled to a stop on the grass. At this point I was rather annoyed, and leaned in to tell the driver, "No one else can drive my car the way I can. Can I please have it back now?"

    5. Man on a Horse

      by , 04-04-2014 at 10:04 AM
Night of April 4, 2014. Friday.

This is one of the only times in recent years I have deliberately tried to focus on a person I did not know at all (other than as an assumed bizarre and relentlessly narcissistic persona), though I have (not by intent) dreamt of the YouTube hillbilly conspiracy theorist a few times (one dream being precognitive of his finding a much younger wife).

In my dream, there is only one main scene of a man riding backwards on a horse. He goes about in circles seeming very delighted and pleased. There seems no threat of injury. This is close to being a “glowing dream” but does not reach that visual quality (that is, a dream where everything seems to glow from within, sort of like a photographic negative but with correct color). He leans forward over the back of the horse, his upper body eventually being nearly horizontal to the horse. His head, with the side of it touching the horse’s back (as if seemingly attempting to hear something - but probably only incidental in appearance as such) is mostly over the croup and his hands open and about the horse’s hips for the most part. He continues to seem delighted as the horse gallops about but he never sees me at any point. He seems very proud and fulfilled over how “well” he is doing in a sort of absentminded, yet totally certain way.

He is dressed informally and has flushed cheeks with a reddish nose and even a reddish chin, with a sort of odd pale complexion as if out of the sun for a long time or appearing to have a continuous “alcohol complexion”. He grins in euphoria. It is almost as if he views the horse as his own body. Even though he is riding backwards, it seems to be how things have “always been” for him, almost as if he is not aware that a horse has a head.

Eventually, he has a very large bed-sheet (or possibly a picnic blanket), wearing it over himself sort of like an implied cape, leaning down closer to the back even more as if the horse were like a bed, with the tail being the head of the bed. Eventually, he covers himself completely (somehow able to hold onto part of it) as the sheet moves up and about almost like distorted wings of an airplane. I stand puzzled and wondering if he will see me, but no. At one point, the sheet waves like a flag. I continue to watch, feeling a sense of hilarity as well as a sincere pity.

    6. Driving on the freeway...backwards!

      by , 11-10-2011 at 03:42 PM (Pop's Dream Journal)
In my dream last night, I'm driving down the freeway in my truck. A friend of mine is riding in the passenger seat and he seems a bit nervous because I'm having a little bit of trouble staying in my lane but otherwise my driving is okay. I look at all the other cars on the road and they're giving me a wide berth. And then I realize...I'm driving in reverse at high speed. That explains why it's difficult to keep the truck centered in the lane. I'm actually having fun and marveling at my mad driving skills when I notice a second vehicle coming onto the freeway and it's going backwards too. He comes up right behind me but I accelerate and get way ahead of him. I want to do one of those manuevers where you whip around 180 degrees and keep driving without slowing down, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. So I try whipping the steering wheel around while hitting the brakes...but before I know if it works or not, I wake up.
