Morning of November 23, 2019. Saturday. Dream #: 19,332-03. Optimized 1 minute read. I maintain my metacognitive awareness of sleeping and dreaming. My dream self holds the awareness of being in bed at our present address with my memory of my current waking life. However, the details of my environment are incorrect (to prevent associating my dream with real life). I am on my back (though in reality, only my head is upward as I am otherwise sleeping more on my left side). Zsuzsanna is in our kitchen. I see blue sky through our roof. Our landlord had removed a small square section from it (which would not be possible as a few large sheets of metal serve as our sloped roof that also has a ceiling under it). I catch a glimpse of his face, but he does not regard me. I do not perceive it as an intrusion. After a short time, the area is as it was. Variations of this “looking in” narrative have occurred in all sleep cycles since childhood, though it occurs more often with the personification of potential wakefulness associated with a window or a door. I honestly cannot believe some people think this type of content has to have a waking-life “interpretation” each time. I typically perceive this personification of anticipated wakefulness as more intrusive in my final dreaming experience of a sleep cycle. My metacognitive awareness of my need to eventually wake is most predominant at this time. For people (such as so-called “dream experts”) who cannot comprehend such a self-evident process, I have no words.
Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM Woke up at: 9:00 AM Dream 109: Yet Another Apocalypse Spectacular A minute in and I'm rocking the boat already. Well, not figuratively of course. It was probably a bad idea, scaling a massive (And rusty) tugboat near the river when I myself don't even know how to swim, but, eh, I'll find a way out. As I shift my body weight from one side of the ship to another I find a box filled with medical supplies. Before I could find out what's in there I have to get out of the massive boat due to the fact that it is leaning 60 degrees towards the rapidly moving river. After hopping down from floor to floor, I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't acquire a medical kit of any sort. But I'm still alive, so that's enough of a miracle for me. "Shenandoah" by Tennessee Ernie Ford starts playing in my head for a bit, as I reflect on what had led up to this point. I had always thought I'd wind up as a plucky scavenger in the post-apocalypse, the kind that involved near total societal ruin. I didn't revel in this atmosphere, nor have I ever asked for it, but it's here now and I'm doing fine. Suddenly during my reverie, my friend JJ drives up to me in a busted up red car. He asks me what I'm doing and I respond with an "Eh, nothing." He offers me a ride to which I don't pass him up on. He drives us towards a largely barren settlement with a few people and kids running about. I'm amazed/suspicious at how well this place was holding up. We park in front of a gas station/grocery store with a few people inside of it. Some of the aisles were picked clean, but I find myself some lawn chairs and take them along with me. JJ tells me that the town was throwing a birthday party for him, and asks me to join in. I accompany him to a sort of mobile home (Bigger than any mobile home I've ever seen) here there are people dancing and talking and such. I begin to get paranoid. "What if this is a set-up? Perhaps some Mexican church bishop had poisoned the party-goers or something (Like in Fear the Walking Dead)?" It's all too much to handle at once. I walk outside and just set up my lawn chair, taking in the bright blue skies. Then the dream ends. Dream 110: Just A Bunch Of Random Nonsense I'm in this coffee-brown room with a guy who looks like one giant marshmallow (In the shape of a human, of course). He asked me and a colleague of mine to help rescue his girlfriend, whom I assume is also a marshmallow. Along the way we end up getting lost and forgot our objective altogether. Then the dream ended.
[Tuesday, August 21st, 2012] I was in a multiple faded dreams that were set in a labrynth metropolis city of stone and metal that was built into the side of a supercliff, an empty ocean trench. I could see the sky most of the time, and it was the deepest blue you could imagine. Me and a group of friends were exploring the city and trying to find treasure. The funny thing is, the city wasn't abandoned. One fragment I remember was being on a flat metal surface with patterns of criss-crossed steam lines that went on and off... they were dangerous so you either had to time it when you were to walk, or jump over them carefully. I tried timing my walk and burned myself... Frustrated at the rest of my group's ease of travel over the steam, I tried jumping and somehow managed to do it perfectly... The very last thing I remember, was crowding around an elevator that led to an off-limit room. We were debating whether or not to go in, since it was probably off-limits, but I pushed myself in without hesitation. Me, two girls, and two guys. On our way up, the guys vanished. Suddenly the elevator reversed directions and headed down... I said, "Well... we can just tell them we were looking for the bathroom." One of the girls agreed, knowing that it was a half-joke. Once out of the elevator, I sprinted ahead to the left saying, "I'll just use that bathroom over there! BE RIGHT BACK." I followed the open labrynth toward a bunch of rusty-white metal platforms, suspending high up against the rocky wall. There were ladders, but I jumped up and scrambled myself up the side of the platform. (I really had to pee...) The guy who had dissapeared earlier was sitting lifelessly to the right. He phased in and out and appeared as colored metal rings for a moment. I think he had stolen something... or hurt himself... Just then, the other guy appeared, and he was muscular and shirtless and resembled my WL friend, Nathan... he picked up the injured man and began walking the direction I was headed. "Hey, I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick, when I get back, I'll carry him for awhile." My dreamscape faded to reality. (I was in an extremely uncomfortable position in WL and had to pee REALLY BAD. I emptied my bladder and here I am. I'm not skilled enough to jump back in my dream.)* *(I'd like to add, that around 7:00PM, me and my friend Nathan [the buff character from the dream] were sitting on a bench around town in WL, after smoking some weed stuff... I looked up at the sky and saw the EXACT blue sky as in the dream. It was impossibly blue, and was getting dark fast. Just as I mentioned all of this to Nathan, another friend of ours called and asked if we could give him a ride. Come to think of it, the lifeless guy from my dream looks strikingly similar to the one we were about to give a "ride" to, his name was Kyle. Kyle's a pretty weasley/stingy guy sometimes... Maybe he did steal something too!)
I know at first there was some part of the dream where I was with some people I knew (remember only mother though) and that I somehow searched for materials to forge weapons. […] I was talking with my brother and there was a blue clear beautiful sky outside with just a very thin layer of clouds. It started raining and I said to him that rain with an clear blue sky is the most beautiful weather (which is actually my opinion) and did an random reality check (likely due to an track playing in reality that moment) not expecting anything strange, yet my nose felt unusual and I could freely breath, tried it again and became lucid, seeing a person through the window I tried to change his color but without success. I still wasn’t perfectly sure what was going on and as to not embarrass myself I did my world severing seal silently, my brother though vanished without me noticing and I was going out of the room through the building. It looked casual yet somehow special; everything was bright but in a positive way. I instinctively made a daring jump dawn the staircase and went outside, under an intensively green tree were some snack bars lying. I looked skeptical at them but didn’t pay more attention. I massively tried to get rid of the drowsiness and it at least partially worked, I wanted to search for a nice free location to do what I was planning to do (looking back I should’ve just started where I was, but though I was less drowsy, I wasn`t completely myself yet ). I came across a lot of children, each with a different toy gatling gun. Then I found a big open place and decided that I would start doing my experiments here, strange enough the walls of the buildings around looked somewhat like shelves and there was a trapeze hanging from the sky. I remember randomly grabbing it but then the dream turned all grey and fuzzy, and I noticed I was waking up. I tried to get back in but without success. As I woke up though there was a lucidity track playing, at 15 minutes. It was the one called lucid remix which I found in this post: http://www.dreamviews.com/f44/audio-...ository-55276/ I once had this track playing a lot of times randomly in the middle of the night, and it always only woke me up. After a long break (over a month) and a bit success I used this track for the first time again this night and had immediate success. Also the numbers are telling me I likely kept my lucidity at least for a few minutes and that I successfully achieved my first EILD.
