      Prison Complex

I was in some kind of prison complex ( c ). I felt as though I was trying to or wanted to escape. Briefly the perspective was third person and from a 2d side on perspective like a 2d side scrolling brawler or platform game ( c,i ).

Back in the first person view I was standing in a hallway. The walls, floor, ceiling, everything was grey concrete. There was a large dark window on the wall looking in to a room and a mop and bucket next to me. I moved forward slightly and as I passed a corner I noticed there was a prisoner next to me. I knew he wasn't a real prisoner. I had a sense of injustice, and I think I said something to the effect of it being unfair. The fake prisoner punched me. He had a silver coloured ring on.

      Soylent Green is People!

I was at secondary school sitting in the boys changing rooms with the other people that were in my year and a few years either way above and below ( c ). We were going to be turned in to some kind of stew to feed to the current generation of kids at the school. It was supposed to make them more intelligent by absorbing the knowledge of those who had come before them, and thus raise the status of the school ( c ). I recalled that they must have done this back when we were at school and thought of S's eldest brother being turned in to a stew and having ate him.

We were being led out of the changing rooms towards the main entrance and outside when myself and some others were removed from the line by Mrs. M ( c ). Apparently we were being spared to be part of some special group. We were standing around outside of the main entrance. I only recognised L ( c ). She was standing across from me looking disinterested. Mrs. M explained that we were going to have some special procedure done that would make us unable to hear a certain frequency of sound. She ten revealed that I already naturally was unable to hear the frequency, and I recalled that this was true ( c,i ).

Along with the ability to hear the particular frequency, we would also gain the ability to not be detected by a certain scanning device ( c,f ). I imagined a strange hand-held device with a blue light on top of an antenna that would beep faster when it was facing its target person. I was then talking with L and explained that the downside to not being able to hear the frequency was not being able to hear some alarms.

      I woke up with tinnitus...

      Puppy Cake

I was in a supermarket. Everything looked like a cartoon ( f,c ). I was looking over at an aisle with cereal on the shelves. There were men dressed like superheroes. One in particular was dressed in a purple suit. He was wearing glasses over the face mask. and had regular looking shoes on. I knew he wasn't a real superhero but was doing some kind of promotion related to the cereal.

I was in a queue for the checkout with Joe from Family Guy ( c ). He was still a cartoon but his hands and arms looked real ( f ). We shook hands -- his hands were extremely sweaty and it was kind of gross. I could see the sweat on his palms. The superhero guy shouted over to us that the cereal Joe was buying wasn't as good unless you ate it where it was made. It was some kind of chocolate based cereal in a yellow box. Joe replied that Quahog was where it was made, and that was where we were ( c ). Then we high-fived, and again his hands were really sweaty.

I was suddenly holding a blancmange and cake based dessert ( f ). It was in the shape of the face of a dog. It was white with brown ears and had it's tongue out. The eyes were not quite on centre, so it looked a bit retarded. I placed it on the checkout conveyor. Joe's wife commented that it looked just like a dog they used to have that died. We started to eat it then and there. When we bit in to it, it made a strange noise ( f ). Joe's wife commented that the dog they had made the exact same strange noise...

I seem to have a thing for slamming people into walls. I blame Supernatural.

My partner and I were subtly infiltrating a top-secret military prison. Unfortunately, it didn't go well, and I'm currently on my own, trying to stage a massive escape.

You know you should watch out when getting in is way too easy.

I'm rushing back to the entrance, a mob of angry prisoners behind me (though I'm more worried about the guards). I come across a control panel, key in random numbers and watch the door slide open, Star Wars-style. I'm through the door, looking at a massive warehouse. The only way out is straight through the exterior wall, a solid mass of cement blocks and brick.

"Blast!" I command, letting kinetic energy tear its way from my hands. I barely even recognize that I'm saying the word. The far wall falls apart into a pile of rubble and dust, leaving only -

Another wall is behind it. Pure cement.

"Blast! Blast! Blast!" The walls keep falling down, replaced by more walls behind them. No way I'm getting out through here.

"I was hoping you'd come this way," says a menacing voice.

A giant steps out from behind the tall stacks of crates in the room. He looks like Hyde from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie. He's several times taller than me, and can move freely in the gigantic warehouse.

Huh. This is kind of like that rancor level in Jedi Academy, I think to myself. I visualize the layout of the game - lots of jumping and running away, that won't work. I have to dodge as Hyde throws a few crates at me.

Now, how do I take him out? Fighting won't work, I'm too small.

Stop. You're fighting a giant during a mass breakout from an underground prison. Wake up, you moron.

      I don't mean that literally.

I'm lucid. I barely have to think about it as I grow several meters taller, causing the room to seem average rather than cavernous.

Hyde is charging me. I stop his attack easily, spin him, send him flying into a wall. Chunks of mortar fall down around him.

Not a second later I'm on him, pinning him down and delivering a punch to the jaw.

Hyde has something of an inappropriate reaction to this.

    3. Grocery Store Prison

by , 12-09-2007 at 06:00 AM (Visions in the Dark)
The dream starts off in a large grocery store. I am in the frozen food section looking for something and there are several people throughout the store who appear to be shoppers. I look over my should at one point and see a former friend of mine, Cathy, standing in the doorway to the supply room. I am not happy to see her and I am even more annoyed by the smug look she has on her face. Everyone who I thought at first were random shoppers, myself included, turn out to be prisoners who have to "work off their debt" to be free. Cathy is the one who has imprisoned us and forces us to work in the grocery store, and as of yet no one has ever worked off their debt or escaped.

I am stocking in the soup isle and I find a newborn, sleeping baby, wrapped in a white blanket, laying in a sale bin. I sense that she is related to me somehow and I so pick her up. Slave master, psycho control freak (as she is in real life) Cathy comes over to give me trouble because I am not working and I tell her that I have to call my sister-in-law to come and pick up the baby. Cathy tries to take the baby but I become confrontational and Cathy wisely backs down. For the first time in the dream she doesn't have that annoying smirk on her face because she realizes that I am not afraid of her and will do serious damage if she tries to mess with me. Cathy tells me that she can't have children at her store and I have thirty minutes to get rid of the baby. As the slave keeper walks away I yell "or what? You'll fire me?" but she does not know how to respond and disappears into her office. Several of the other prisoners seem happy to see someone stand up to the boss for once, though they meekly continue with their slave labor.

I leave the grocery store and enter into the large shopping center to which it is attached and beeline for a public phone to call my sister-in-law. She says that she and my brother will be there shortly and I tell them to meet me at the mall entrance. I have no intention of returning to the grocery store and plan on using my brother and sister-in-law as my escape route. When they finally arrive, my sister-in-law takes the baby and says that she is happy to have her daughter back and thanks me for taking care of her. I jump into their mini-van and tell my brother to floor it, but he just stares at me blankly and asks me if I have to get back to work. (*facepalm*) I call him an idiot and tell him to drive and when he protests my sister-in-law also gets on his case until finally he drives away from the mall.

I am both excited and apprehensive. I wonder how long it is before Cathy figures out I got away and hope to get as far away as I can before then. My brother drives along a road that follows the ocean. The sky is overcast and grey it is slightly foggy. We drive in silence for a long time before my sister-in-law asks how work was and I tell her about the perpetual slavery that the workers are forced to endure. My brother asks me something, but I forget what now, before suddenly swerving his mini-van off the road and into the ocean. The vehicle goes deep enough to fill halfway with water and get stuck in the sand, but not deep enough to sink and submerge the entire mini-van. My sister-in-law just gazes out the front window, cradling the baby, like nothing has happened. I feel extremely mortified that my brother is a complete moron, but cannot get a reason out of him when I demand to know why he has sabatoged my plan for escape. I know that now the mini-van has been disabled, I will eventually be found and sent back to work at the grocery store prison, and that makes me very frustrated and angry.
