    1. Log 1173 - WILD Jaunt and Other Assorted Stories

      by , 07-16-2018 at 02:35 PM (Dream Logs DWN-12)
      Created Sunday 15 July 2018

Got a dream and a WILD loop to note, though I've forgotten much of the non-lucid portions of the latter.

      Scrap Group 1
Flying around at daytime. I thought I was LDing after waking up from this, but I can't prove that.

Dream 1 - Hidden Designer Base

The visuals were clear. I was entering a community center, one of numerous structures within a massive building complex. Apparently, I was infiltrating the place as part of a mission, of which wasn't entirely outlined at the moment.

Numerous people were waiting in the front lounge, several distinctly cartoon figures. Of the latter group, I identified Bugs Bunny, and a heroically built cowboy. An armed guard and receptionist screened a gate further ahead. To get past them, I had to cause a commotion, which I managed by provoking those above-distinguished animated characters into attack each either.

I sneaked through a cafeteria kitchen, and made my way into a small public computer lab. There, I gather further instructions on my objective. There were details of a high-profile clothing designer (slim woman in her 50's), and, more importantly, a secret bunker she'd hidden underground near the very site I stood in. I was tasked with breaking in there unnoticed, and steal a prototype of her latest dress. Much as one would spoil movies or games, I Googled a guide describing the target site's layout, making note of various alarm and gas traps. I then took a different nearby exit past another security gate, a middle aged black woman guarding the area. For a moment, I wanted to go back to look for random trivia, but was told I needed a library card, to which I admitted not having.

Skip back to the lobby, then to the gate near the kitchen, all of which had been emptied. I continued onwards out a backdoor. This took me to a wide courtyard, night sky above. In the center was an even larger structure, the site of my mark. Contrasting the surrounding buildings, this one was completely unlit.

Anyway, I opened a roll-up door on the side of the building, and broke in. Inside was an entire warehouse of fancy clothing, many already arranged in racks. I soon heard the steps of footsteps approaching, so I hid behind some of said clothes. In appears the designer, along with a group of execs and a full guard detail. She promotes her wares, odd, given the near pitch-darkness. There may have been word about contraband, or at least something of questionable legality. To better conceal myself, I turned invisible. This proved highly impractical, for doing so not only required my yelling out at the top of my lungs (I even shouted "FIND ME" at times!), but to also frequently repeat the action. And yet, it seemed the others were none the wiser. There were a few close calls, though it was due more to a clumsy misstep than from any noise I made.

After prodding around, I found a hidden hatch near a pillar, the entryway to the bunker. Opening it revealed a stairway spanning to inscrutable depths. I continued a few stories below, before turning a hallway. At the end of that was the only door in sight. Inside that was a narrow room. All its walls were built of solid steel, save for the furthest one, which was made of bullet proof glass. A lower level was visible below, the area almost completely darkened, if it weren't for a spotlight featuring a small safe. The mark, no doubt.

I noticed various unlabeled dials and levers nearby. Now, I knew better than to just activate any of these willy nilly... except I did so anyway. Such overeagerness cost me dearly. Within seconds, alarms were blaring, my exit was sealed shut by a vault door, and the hissing of gas could be heard above. I could just imagine that designer's smug amusement at my predicament. Still, I "figured" this was only a game. And so, through an interface, I merely exited to the 'main menu'. Quite a disappointment, losing the way I did, but it was better than dying.

Now, I found myself in a cold forest during an especially brilliant night. Gigantic walls of an enormous city could be seen in the distance, its many sparkling lights not diminishing the view of the cosmos above. Such an unbelievable view had me in awe. It also almost lead to awareness. Unfortunately, just as I was bordering lucidity, that cat woke me up.

      Dream 2 - WILD Jaunt

WILD transition in bed. I rub on the mattress to confirm. There were supposedly several housemates arguing in another room, but I disbelieved that entirely. It took a few tries at rolling out the bed before I fell to the void, where I rubbed my hands thoroughly before waiting out a transition.

My first warp took me within dark caverns. I flew out the nearest exit, then got instantly teleported again. Next stop was in a misty forest of dead trees, a strange purple light in the distance the only source of visibility. Soon, I stumbled upon a campfire. A savage witch was performing a ritual there, her hair unkempt and cloak in scanty tatters. Various figures were hidden in the tree's branches, possibly others of her kind, if not far more frightful things. I carefully approached the sorceress for a closer look, only to get pulled away by a mysterious force.

I was then warped in a snowy forest at night. Visible in the distance was a whimsical town, quite small, yet glistening with extravagant lights. Like something out of a Disney movie. I flew by a few houses, but couldn't really get too far before yet another transition.

This time, I ended up in the outskirts of a town at early dawn. Contrasting the above, this was a bleak and derelict site. I strolled by a few of the more exposed buildings, but saw no one around.

The dream collapsed soon afterwards. Don't recall other things clearly. Pretty sure I end up flying somewhere at daytime, with the possibility of being lucid. Something of my visiting distant relatives in a small house. Next was a false awakening, where some weird kid was in the lounge. Then, something of getting into an excessively brutal fight with my brother? Don't recall how this ended.

    2. First dream (since joining) - Chased

      by , 07-16-2018 at 12:59 PM
Memorised the dream about 3 hours ago, when I got up from bed, but haven't had a chance until now to write it down, so some details are missing along the way. Non-lucid dream:

I can't remember how the dream started; for the first part I was in some sort of library, with two floors, a ground floor and a first floor. There were some sort of MIB agents downstairs and I was on the first floor, seeing them from behind the banisters - they realised I was there and started trying to grab me and I was trying to keep myself low but avoiding them; they were trying to get up by climbing, though none of them remembered to try and use stairs initially, I felt like they would be trying it soon; I saw a doorway that leaded to a concrete (and stone maybe) stairwell and I went through quickly and saw that the stairs went up and down.

I decided to go down, quickly going down step-by-step since I wasn't familiar with the stairs, otherwise would have done every 3 steps instead to go down quicker, and I could feel that the agents were looking for me here; I reached a point where the stairs still went further down but they were cut off by a small wall, so I jumped over it and there was a little ramp that I slid down on - I didn't stumble and kept going down for what now seems like it must have been quite a while, and finally reached a bottom, where there was a doorway to an "outside".

As I stepped outside everything had this sort of yellow-green tinge, like there was a lot of dust of this colour, and there was daylight, but I looked up and saw that the stairwell was a block of concrete coming down from what looked like an enormous black metallic machine with a central column that hung over this area I was in, with the rest of its supports, five or six of them I think, further out; the central column had tubes going to the other supports and other sections... Down on my level it was like a small city or town with dusty roads and pavements and there was nobody else apart from many of these MIB types and futuristic military vehicles, but the buildings looked fairly normal.

I can't remember exactly, but I think some of them noticed me and started chasing after me so I got into a small armoured vehicle type thing that had a gun mounted on top and here there's sort of a transition from the normal perception of things (from my eyes) to a third-person view of the vehicle, as in a game. I sped up and followed the curvy town roads and noticed a bigger military tank with some sort of cannon was chasing me, so I started trying to fire the gun on my vehicle, but it didn't seem to do anything to do the bigger vehicle; they didn't fire at me but kept the cannon pointed at me and I think I must have gotten to a dead-end or simply decided to get out, and ran into an alleyway and seemed to lose them, my perception being normal again, i.e. from my eyes, since I got out from the vehicle.

In this alleyway I remember seeing plenty of these guys just sitting around doing nothing in their suits and sunglasses, and I made particular note of one of them sitting on a wooden bench in the shade of a building. They didn't seem phased by me and weren't getting up trying to get me or anything. I stopped and looked at this guy on the bench, I didn't feel like I was being chased anymore. He was looking down to the ground, resting his arms on his knees, sort of hunched forward.

All of a sudden I heard loudspeakers across the town, saying something like "... and the winner of tonight's lottery is: Tom (indecipherable)". As this happened I saw the man change; his clothes were different, more casual, his sunglasses were gone, he looked like a regular guy, but he still had this empty expression; one of the other agents loitering about looked at him and said "Hey it's the third time you win in a row, this isn't fair!", visibly angry at this guy for constantly winning - of course, now the speakers played again, pretty much saying the same thing, more of the other guys getting angry at him; him keeping his empty expression, but I think looking at me.

I don't remember any more of this dream, so I can't say for sure if it ended here or not, but this is where my memory of it ends.

      Some notes:
      • I've recently been watching the Matrix and the Animatrix again, which always gets me thinking about dreams, so I know that a lot of this dream's atmosphere and theme is around that. Other things like the military vehicles come from a different number of games.
      • During the dream I did not feel particularly distressed or anything; I was simply running along with a situation, not thinking about it or the context.
      • The only normal dream sign that appeared was the stairwell; dream signs related to travel (trains, stairwells, elevators/lifts, long car journeys) are some of my most common signs, but I almost never remember to think about them in dreams.
      • This is my first DJ entry here.
    3. FNAF game teaser

      by , 07-16-2018 at 10:56 AM (Exterminate)
I had a really fun dream about a secret feature in a fnaf game. It was meant to be a teaser for a larger project coming out soon.
The developer made the mistake of allowing you to play the whole game as long as you have it open, but once you close it you're locked out until the game release. DJ Sterf, Dawko, Markiplier, etc all closed the game before making any serious attempts at the teaser game, but I actually played it for a good while.

It was a hyper realistic doomsday game. When you start the simulation it gives the option of setting a difficulty. The settings are randomized in the preview but I managed to give the max difficulty run a few tries. It was absolutely nuts. You start with like 4 items that are used to prevent certain disasters. One is a plague that originates in hospitals. You have to administer a medicine to the sick patient. If they die, the plague spreads by touch. You only start with one medicine, and there may be multiple sick patients, specially on higher difficulties. There are natural disasters such as a big thunderstorm. The playing area is a town on an island surrounded by sea.

Because I was on max difficulty it was crazy from the start. Seas are roaring, and suddenly a few large ships come near land, each shooting 5 cannons at a time at a fast rate. I counted about 3 separate ships doing this. They attacked anything and everything. I saw a large godzilla in the far distance. I saw another gigantic monster coming towards me, but I don't remember what. I think it was on land, but I can only think of a giant shark that was attacking. Whatever it was, a large triceratops stampeded towards me and hit the giant creature instead.

There were other goals and enemies to deal with as well. Some required a freddy fazbear mask to fool, others you had to "click" on them. I remember one moment just being in a house. It was dark, I was looking for materials, but enemies kept spawning. The puppet, bonnie, etc. I got a bit frustrated because some of the enemies were preventing the door from working, and I needed to just get out of there so I could do other things. The goal of the game was to last 5 minutes. Doesn't seem that hard, right? Wrong. There is so much chaos, that the island gets destroyed very quickly. Can't hide, must run and subdue as many enemies as fast as possible.
    4. Corpse at the Bottom of the Stairs

      by , 07-16-2018 at 09:10 AM
Morning of July 16, 2018. Monday.

My dream takes place in a new variation of our present home. There is an unknown male present, though I do not perceive him as an intruder. There is an awareness of the Rose Street apartment, which eventually fuses into the setting as our present house is then on the second floor.

An unknown male comes up the staircase into our home, and this male, I do see as an intruder. (It is the personification of RAS.) I non-lucidly modulate my dream and force him out. Other people are present for a time. (My perception is not clear due to non-lucidly modulating over RAS before the ultradian rhythm peak, as I went to sleep about an hour later than I usually do.)

Before the preconscious avatar leaves my dream, I see him down in an alley, which is reminiscent of where Dennis (older half-brother on my mother’s side) lived in La Crosse years ago. I stay on the second floor at this time. There appears to be someone on their back in the alley, and this causes the preconscious avatar to run off. I am uncertain if it is a person or an arrangement of clothes and boots. I see a couple of other unknown people. “Is there anyone in there,” I ask. I am asking the others if there is someone “inside” the arrangement of clothing.

Very curiously, Harriet Madeley (as Scarlett in “Waking David” from 2016), as the interconsciousness avatar, walks into our lounge room from the front door. (I do not become lucid at any point. I only remember the autosymbolic factors and dynamics of the dream state, of which I have often used to non-lucidly control my dream since I was a toddler. However, as I said above, my ultradian rhythm is skewed, altering my potential status of lucidity.)

I follow Harriet, who takes on nuances of Zsuzsanna without my dream self being aware of this. We slowly walk down the stairs, which is difficult because each step has boxes and miscellaneous items on it. My dream becomes more and more vivid as I walk down the stairs, about four steps behind her.

We are in what seems to be an outside area near the bottom of the stairs. I see what appears to be a corpse. The body is on its back. I associate it with Kristy Bruce (as Amy from “Waking David” - though she did not die in the movie). My dream starts to become more vivid as I gaze at it. Harriet, walking away, cheerfully says something about the corpse’s status and its identity. I do not recall what she said. I consider if it is a real corpse or street art. I wonder if it is papier-mâché. Her face is flat and skull-like, covered with wrinkled yellow skin. There is somewhat of an eerie feeling but no sense of fear. I slowly wake.

The movie title “Waking David” had been on my mind (though did not dominate my thoughts), which had produced much of my dream’s autosymbolism. The interconsciousness is probably laughing at me for not perceiving the associations. It is presently very rare for me to use a staircase and not become lucid. I have used this factor in RAS mediation since I was a toddler. The corpse was autosymbolism for both my lack of lucidity and the inactivity of my physical body. The vestibular system correlation of using the staircase as a typical trigger to vivify and sustain the dream state was not as focused as it usually is, which was represented by the clutter on the steps. Factors of lucidity mainly stem from ultradian rhythm. (This is apparently why the WBTB method works for some who need to “attempt” to become lucid). I do not use so-called reality checks, as it biologically corrupts the purpose of the reticular formation and my dream self is not my conscious self identity. Additionally, it stabilizes my dream where I then think I am awake, so it does not work for me. The hand trick does not work either. If I suspect I am dreaming, my hands become more realistic and tangible, the opposite of what others claim.

Readability score: 68. Correctness of writing: 100. Intellectual value: 75.

Looks like it don't matter that
I can't do exciting dream stuff myself.

My big daddy with technology can.

      Look👀

it will work like that BIG daddy
