    1. The One I've Been Waiting For

      by , 12-05-2016 at 11:43 PM
      Preface:
Last night was the dream I had been waiting for. The dream that I knew needed to happen at some point, but had been eluding me for some time. I went to bed fairly early, and I took two NyQuil capsules, as I’ve had an annoying cough I can’t seem to get over. I also took a couple of ibuprofen, as I had been in a fight with my friend the night before, and my face was still pretty sore, and the bruises on my body were getting worse. Anyhow, so the stage is properly set. But I was not attempting to induce anything, nor was I anticipating. Here we go:

      Part 1:
I’m in a white, queen sized bed, high above the ground, centered uncomfortably and disturbingly in the middle of a dark bluish room. There are sounds from outside. I see light through the crack in the door. I’m uncomfortable, cold, fearful, and confused. I am revisiting the fear of nighttime from my childhood. It’s so real. There’s something beautiful about this. Something is on the outside of my room. I travel outside. It is my Bellingham house, but different. It appears to have been flooded recently. There are puddles of murky water all around. I travel into the bathroom, and it’s larger than the real one. The toilet is missing. Later in the dream, the toilet is returned, but another toilet from a different spot in the bathroom is missing. The shower is running, but there is no sound at all. I notice this, and it disturbs me greatly. I know I’m not deaf; the rapid running water makes no sound. Senses are so real, so similar to being fearful in my bed as a child, in my old room, but different. I drift in and out of sleep in this dream, which convinces me of the reality of the dream.

      Part 2:
My landlord is present, and my parents and I are in his house. It is very clean, but with old furniture, not unlike my grandparents’ old house. The house is oddly off-balanced, and my dad points this out. Soon we are at my grandpa’s old house. He has this small dog. He is uncharacteristically swearing and seems to be unaware of it, but it disturbs me and my mother. My sister Julia gives the dog a sedative and it goes limp. There is a performance that will occur at Cedar Park. There is a piano, and the stage is strangely arranged.

      Part 3:
My sister Jeannette and I are at McDonald’s. I think it’s a mix of one I’ve been to in Kirkland, and the one I frequent in Bellingham. We are blocking the drive thru line, unaware of it. A man in a pickup drives in front of us and flips us off. People are getting frustrated. We drive forward and soon realize our fault here. We pull around to the back of the line. I notice many Mexican Americans in the drive thru line, but they are all on foot without a car, and some are being quite rude it seems. I’m eating some kind of overly cheesy sandwich. A woman approaches; she bears the resemblance of Rosita from The Walking Dead. She enters my car, and we begin to kiss and embrace. I’m worried that my sister is taking notice of this, but she’s disappeared from the vehicle. This girl wishes to make love but I tell her no. There may have been more to this dream sequence, but that was all I can remember.

      Part 4:
Here’s where things get fairly emotional for me. I am in a wooded area with a group of people. There are very old trees with gigantic roots, and they grow in impossible shapes. It is disturbing but fascinating. This girl I am interested in, Camila, is in this dream, and I think that I am in love with her. I climb one of the trees. It twists about up through the forest so impossibly but so satisfyingly, in that I am able to climb it with ease, and I soon near the top. Our leader faces a giraffe or dinosaur-like mythical creature that soon approaches my tree and climbs it. I confront it, fearful at first, but I win the battle. Our group continues on through these woods. I feel empowered. We are now on a university campus. I run into Sam (my ex-girlfriend). We talk, argue, I try to kiss her and she angrily backs away. I think she has red hair at first. Then she has blonde hair, and she approaches a table with several of my acquaintances and someone who resembles Glenn McEvoy (my management professor). Sam with red hair is also at this table, and she seems much kinder. So there are somehow two of her here. Sam with blonde hair is making a scene and spouting off a poem and talking about some instance with us over the summer. The situation ought to be way more uncomfortable, but there is a level of understanding among us at the table, and I have these strange feelings, many of which I cannot identify. McEvoy even makes a light comment about the situation, and I respond with some clever remark. I argue with her more as I hope my current lover (Camila) approaches, but she doesn’t. Ali (a girlfriend of my friend Cameron) is there and puts her arm around me, as if she were a good friend who wishes to comfort me. Sam with blonde hair is evil to me. Sam with red hair is passive, sitting there, seeming to sheepishly say sorry for blonde Sam’s behavior.

      Reflection:
4 very different, very real, very vivid situations. The first gave me feelings of fear and confusion that I haven’t experienced in quite a long time, I think since I was practically a child. The second gave me feelings of great discomfort, mainly due to my grandpa’s unusual cursing. The third gave me feelings of confidence and animalistic pleasure I also haven’t felt in a long time. The fourth at first gave me feelings of bravery and invincibility, then of profound sadness, then anger.

In these dreams, I have a sense that all the happenings are synchronistic, as I had been reading Jung’s "Synchronicity" the previous day. I felt that concepts I had read about the principle were pervading the dream somehow, and I was subtly and possibly unconsciously aware of this while dreaming. This dream world was so real, realer than anything I’ve experienced in a while. And upon waking, I wasn’t really awake for a few seconds. But I knew I must immediately take note of these dreams.

    2. lucid dreamer

      by , 12-05-2016 at 09:44 PM
first off im new, HELLO everyone. found this site using google wondering why i cant sleep without music.

anyway, i have the craziest lucid dreams. sometimes i wake up talking to myself, crying, laughing or felt like ive never been to sleep... just my mind racing but pretty much mentally exhausted just like ive been watching the most intense awesome movie ever. no lie

so my favorite dreams is when i time travel. its nothing like any Si-Fi movie, there's no fuckin robots or aliens.. (which would be cool actually) i just happen to fall asleep into a situation either that happened in the past or i make a new one with familiar faces and walk into a different time period thru a portal/walk way or just something triggers it and at times just a blink of a eye but i never really understood the familiar faces, ill talk to whoever that person is more in my dream then in reality which is crazy to me.

so im glad i found this website, i honestly believe my dreams can be turned into tv series or just cult movies... so im excited to share some adventures

Im getting ready for bed now, im sure as hell gonna be lucid dreaming. so stay in touch with me, to read my post. im not here to lie, play games or lead anybody on. feels good to share my dreams for once, cant wait to write you in the morning of what happens.

so for now. have a awesome dream.

    3. Random non-lucids

by , 12-05-2016 at 09:35 PM (Journeys through Spacetime)
I have to do several tasks. In one my comrades stop halfway through and I have to do it myself. I had float (how did I not become lucid!!!!) through a garden singing like a bird.

      BREAK

With 3 friends, we all do plays, and one all together. The 'together' was like 'Inception'.
I cannot believe I did not become lucid!

      BREAK
Two rectangular blocks are placed side by side with a space in the middle. They shine out colours and they mix.

I was super tired yesterday, so went to bed at 8 pm - 3:20 am

      DR at 11:37pm

I'm outside, but in the city. Standing with few people, when I hear a couple of sonic booms. We look up and an astronaut is sitting on a ejection-like seat, being shot up in the air. His uniform is silver or white. I understand, that he goes up maybe half way, where he will enter some kind of a vehicle and continue with that.

Couple of small, maybe 3-4 feet in diameter parachutes float down. I touch one of the canopes, that is has colored vedges on it, like a classic umbrella would. I touch it and I feel so happy, because this is such a special opportunity. Parachutes brought down small silever metallic cylinder with information. Me and some others take the parachutes and walk into a nearby building to turn them in to space scientists. (I watched Hunger Games just before bed and a very similar parachute took supplies to the players.)

I'm holding a large USB key and we are joking, that if I put that into the capsule, it would override one mission with some older mission.

Feeling from the whole dream is happiness and lighthearted joking, and something special happening.

    5. Morning - Non-lucids

by , 12-05-2016 at 07:50 PM (Dream Dream Dream Dream Dream Dream)
Kinda hard to tell if this was one dream or two, but they were so different that I might as well call 'em two dreams.

      Dream: Racetimes with Dadboy
UUGHHH so I dreamed about dad again, he'd bought some kinda NASCAR-esque racing computer game and we were all competing, not racing each other directly but just playing the single player and seeing who could do the best job. There was also an odd twist: rather than having one car, you had a whole team of cars, all with the same paintjob as yours, that would follow you around the track as you drove. At one point the game glitched out badly on me... a race had already started, but when I tried to join there were various errors and difficulties. This didn't trigger lucidity for me, I just kept impatiently trying to fix it until I'd managed to get into the game. I started trying to catch up (with my trail of allied cars), but I couldn't seem to play the game right, and the whole thing was frustrating.

Then I got into an argument with dad. He was upset (with mom?) because apparently having a whole team of cars meant that they had to be parked in the house, and there was barely room for them. And I got mad at him and called him a dumbass etc etc who cares.

Dream: A Tiger Ate My Face
So... next I was at some kind of gathering of people (including dad) who were all sitting in a circle in a ... room in a church? I'm not sure what the point was, but I remember walking in and sitting among them, and then entering a different world or story or something, featuring a bunch of anthropomorphic animals... sort of a Redwall feel to it.

Ugh. I thought this dream made sense but now that I'm trying to put what happened into words...

OK so basically, the mice were being forced to migrate by the more villainous animals, and a lot of the younger mice were upset about having to leave their homes. And my objective was to comfort them somehow, but it was hard to tell what I was supposed to do exactly. I talked to a couple young mice but I wasn't sure what they wanted. Then I ended up a bit separated from the main migrating group and ended up alone somewhere I wasn't supposed to be, and this weird somewhat-human-faced tiger jumped down and told me to stop trying to help them or stop doing what I was doing or whatever. I noticed that his face proportions were kinda weird, like his eyes were too far up on his face and his mouth was too wide and he didn't have a nose. And also he was a tiger with a human face. So that was kinda weird.

At any rate, I knew this tiger could eat my face in one bite, but still, when he threatened me and told me to stop I was just like "Make me," knowing full well that he would kill me but thinking of it as a shortcut to the start of the level. He looked incredulous for about a fraction of a second before he lunged and killed me. I didn't feel it.

So I restarted, and this time I found two tiny things: a tiny golden screw, and something else. And I was actually able to find the toy that the screw went into, and screw it in (the screw's proportions weirdly changing the whole time), and get the toy working again. It was some sort of stuffed animal where when you slid the bit I'd fixed, its arms closed in a hug. I knew I should give it to one of the mice children, and I was setting off to find him when I woke up? At any rate, that's all I remember.

Today's dreamsign is: the screw weirdly changing proportions in a very obvious and unreal way.

A long night of strange dreams about making new fitness routines and starting a new website for my various companies. The last one was cool, it took place at my cottage and was about aliens coming to earth and looking for rare minerals in order to control time. The highlight of it was this cool shot when several space ships launched from earth unannounced and I watched these massive rocket trails come from beyond the island off the old cottage.

    7. Weird Old Dream Lady And Weird Old Dream Man

by , 12-05-2016 at 04:39 PM (Journals From The Void)
This dream started with me going up to an old house. On the porch, there are a "Strange Old Dream Lady" and a "Strange Old Dream Man" (despite thinking these exact labels for them, I was not actually aware that I was dreaming.). The scene shifts to an online news article, describing a "Weird Old Dream Man and Woman" who would apparently give candy to random people who walked by. I was in their house for some reason now, and they offered me sweets. I wake up.

      Missed opportunities suck.

    8. My second LD

      by , 12-05-2016 at 11:09 AM
This LD took place by accident in 2011 when i was living in New Jersey:

I found myself in an ambiguous space standing before a shimmering, mother-of-pearl curtain. It brought to mind those plastic strips hanging in the doorway to a cooler in a grocery store. Beyond the curtain i could hear the voices of approximately ten men speaking excitedly in an unknown language. I felt and heard a strong vibration in my head and a roaring noise in my ears. I knew that if i parted the curtain i could enter their presence and see what was on the other side. But i was scared and woke up.

A non-lucid from earlier this year:

When you live in Canada but suddenly find yourself in Lenin's mausoleum in Moscow and a hole in the ceiling opens and they lower a Vostok down with cables and there's old Vladimir Ilyich in the capsule, alive and well, wearing a spacesuit and winking at you through a porthole...it's a pretty safe bet that you're dreaming.

    10. Falling through the floor

      by , 12-05-2016 at 10:37 AM
Here's an example of one of my few successful LD's, this one earlier this year.

INT. KITCHEN OF CHILDHOOD HOME - NIGHT

I'm standing by the kitchen counter when suddenly i begin falling through the floor. If being in a place 3000 km away doesn't strike me as odd, having the Pauli exclusion principle fail the soles of my shoes--and the linoleum under them--fortunately does! Enough to prompt an RC. So i look out the window to try to orient myself, to see if i'm falling with respect to the entire environment or if only the floor is moving up to meet me, etc. Good example of being critically aware of my surroundings and thinking things through.

This was a satisfying success but didn't last long enough to make further use of.

    11. Bus trip

      by , 12-05-2016 at 03:53 AM
I was visiting a friend which I haven't seen in a long time. The dream was odd in the respect that I couldn't figure out how old we were supposed to be in the beginning. I was in the town she lives in which is only 10 minutes from me IRL but I haven't seen her IRL for years either. Anyway, we are at a local plae where we are hanging out & talking but then we go to a school. There is going to be a ballgame somewhere & she's either attending the school or there in some other capacity. For some reason ppl are being paired by her to sit together & be some kind of pep squad for the school. I was wondering to myself in the dream if she would pick me which I found odd that I just suddenly was noticing what I was thinking on a really strange level. She did pick me & a girl beside her looked taken aback by this. We go on the bus & are at the bleachers of the game. The girl is there & so is my friend & I become all full on lucid & look at her & say to the girl "Rindi & I all grown up, we have kids & grandkids of our own. And Josh is in his 5th yr of college" I just staretd laughing & woke up.

Schools are one of my dream signs.

    12. Johnny B. Goode

      by , 12-05-2016 at 12:09 AM
I wanted to post a funny false awakening from last summer:

I found myself wishing i were lucid. "If i were lucid," i thought to myself, "what would i do? I know! I would be Marty McFly in Back To The Future, playing the guitar at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance!"

So i started to play air guitar. Just then my sister entered the room (in the dream) and i felt embarrassed (as we often are when caught dancing and singing alone). I excused myself and went to another room, seeking privacy so i could continue practicing.

Then i awoke and found to my dismay that it had been a dream. I had even thought about lucidity within a dream and still didn't think to run an RC!

Take-home lesson: Use any and everything as a cue to RC. Every thought about lucidity should contain a parenthetical, "Is this a dream now, by the way?"

Being Marty, incidentally, was a spontaneous goal, not a preplanned agenda. And not a bad one, if i may say so myself. I'll have to use it some night for real when i really do achieve lucidity.
