      Dream Lucid

Iīm not sure how the dream started or how I got lucid.
Iīm standing in my yard with a woman and her two children. They want to go on an trip. I try to stabilize the dream and make it more vivid, so I try to concentrate on an object (I think it was a tree) and it works! Even though my other senses donīt work so well, the dream looks like reality. I remember that I wanted to try to do my task of becoming my character (Serial drem RPG) better than in my last dream. "Wait a second.", I say and run inside. I look in a mirror. My reflection looks pretty much the same as in my last dream (My arms are a little transparent though), but this time iīm wearing an black hooded jacket, which looks kinda like my characters robe. I try to summon a sword, but all I get is an childrens toysword made from sponge. (My SC has an evil sense of humor) I go outside and we (me and the family) walk to my neighbourds yard and take their car. The kids want to drive, so I let them go to the front seat. (Yes, im still lucid, this trip just seemed an interesting thing to do) I notice the steering wheel is on the wrong side. (right) The girl sits behind the wheel and the boy sits next to her. She starts the car and starts driving out of the yard. "You know, if you press the "fly" button, this car starts to fly.", I say to them. They start to look for the button. "Itīs right here", I point towards a button that says "fly" on it. As we get out of the yard, the boy presses the button. Nothing happens. The girl starts speeding up, but we still donīt fly. "Try pulling the steering wheel towards you", I say. (At this point the wheel has changed side.) She pulls it, and slowly we rise from the ground. First just the front and then the whole car. Soon we fly on top of the clouds. I start to here an orchestra playing music, that fits perfectly to the situation. And then BAM, I wake in my bed and the dream ends.

    2. Multiple Realities

      by , 01-23-2011 at 10:10 AM
      This was several days ago...

The dream starts out in an alternative version of the Grand Canyon. Surrounding the canyon are several stores and neighborhoods. I get to know these places very well in my stay there. The beginning is a bit hazy, I know that I am looking for my mother. I am far out somewhere in the desert, far from the canyon itself. I know to find her I will need help. I am having trouble grounding myself so I can perform a proper search. I am not lucid. Somehow I come into contact with an army of baby sea turtles. I am hovering up in the air but not flying, just watching. There are thousands of them just crawling along the desert floor. I think I wanted them to help me, but they just kept on to their destination.

Time passes and I am feeling more grounded. I guess maybe I was searching for the canyon itself. I spent a long time wandering in the desert, sometimes flying and sometimes walking. Just searching rather aimlessly. There is a period of the dream I don't remember, and eventually I find the canyon and the city surrounding it. I fly above the city at night, this is still non lucid and not all that vivid. I've got this feeling like I'm trying to ground myself to the dream, so I can search for my mother properly. But it's really difficult and I'm more hovering then flying, trying to find my way down.

Another period I don't remember, and here is where things get interesting. Dream becomes vivid (as vivid as they come!). Still not lucid. I am on the ground in this city surrounding the canyon. I know I've got to find my mother. The first time I try, I find a pay phone and attempt to call her. A gun appears from within the pay phone and it begins shooting at me on its own. I have to run to escape the bullets. Another time I try to use the same pay phone, and a man with a machine gun is up on a hill and starts shooting at me. Every time I try to find her, something stops me.

Eventually I find my mother. I am walking along a hill and look down at a Lowe's parking lot. I can see her outside in the lot, helping men unload some boxes from a truck. I don't feel relieved to have found her. I go down and try talking to her. But it just doesn't feel right. She looks like my mother but after talking to her, I know she isn't. I become convinced that I am in a dream. I want to wake up so I can find her.

This is my first time switching realities.

I wake up in a house that I have never seen before. I walk to the kitchen and my mom, her boyfriend (ex-boyfriend in real life) and my best friend are all in there making breakfast. I am so glad to have woken up! I tell my mom about the dream. She does not respond as I would expect. I refer to this as reality one, with the GC being reality two.

Switch back to the Grand Canyon. I am really frustrated now. I had just woken up (still under the assumption that reality one is real life). I now know this is a dream for sure and I feel like somehow I've fallen back asleep after just waking up. Still not lucid. Although I believe this to be a dream I am still left wanting to search for my mother. I don't really know why, but its the whole point of this dream. I spend time searching and find her near a restaurant. We talk for a while but it is so upsetting to talk to this woman who looks like my mother but really isn't. I try to tell her about how I am dreaming and want to wake up, but she tries to convince me that THIS reality is real. I start to feel like she is trying to harm me in some way, this imposer. We are near the edge of the canyon and I run away from her and leap into the air, flying away.

      Switch.

I "wake up" again. I am back in this unfamiliar house. It is just my mom and her boyfriend now. Despite the fact that I can't recall actually waking up in this house (like in my bed), we are talking in the kitchen and it feels like real life. I am talking about my dream and how someone needs to watch and make sure I don't fall back asleep again, because I am having a bad dream when I sleep. My mother says something about how this is real life, and she is saying the same thing she said to me in the Grand Canyon. Realizing I am still dreaming, I switch.

In the Grand Canyon I have little to do now, because I don't want to find my mother. In fact, now she is searching for me. I don't want to talk to this woman who looks like my mother but really isn't. I just want to wake up. Reality one doesn't feel real anymore. I want to wake up for real. I wander around a lot, just flying at sunset, walking in and out of stores, etc. A man offers me a job at Lowe's and I take it, to help pass the time. I work at check-out.

      Switch.

The important part of this switch is that after speaking to this woman who looks like my mother, I start to realize that she knows too much about the Grand Canyon. She knows what I am not saying out loud. I become convinced that this woman is MAKING me switch realities. She keeps telling me I am awake. I start to play along, knowing I need to find my own way out.

      Switch.

One day I am taking a walk in a neighborhood in the Grand Canyon. I have nothing to do and spend all my time walking. I meet a man and I think I already know him, probably from work. He's really sweet. He walks with me and we talk. Part of me feels bad for leading this guy on, making him think we are developing a friendship when really I know I am dreaming and he isn't real. He knows there is something going on but I don't want to explain. The more time that passes here, the more I start to feel like the Grand Canyon might not be a dream. Maybe I am awake.

Many more times I switch. More and more I forget what place is a dream, I don't have a concept of reality anymore. I begin a relationship with the man I take my walks with. It doesn't feel like such a lie, anymore. It feels real.

One time when switching I send an e-mail to the Grand Canyon, from reality one. I want to see if it goes through. I want to know if I am dreaming so badly. I want to know if the man I am dating is real.

I never get a chance to read the e-mail. Reality three is fully lucid. I am in a large city and spend most of my time in the library there. I fly around a lot, over snow covered mountains at night. I tell everyone I meet about how I have been dreaming for weeks and want to wake up. Never so badly in my life have I wanted out of a dream. I feel like I've been gone forever. I try my techniques for waking up but they just don't work. I have little control. It's extremely vivid.

I false awaken five times. In this reality three, I know that in real life (finally I grasp on reality!) my cell phone alarm is going to go off at some point and wake me up. All I want is to wake up. Eventually I do, and real life has never felt so good. Thank you, cell phone.

This took place over a twenty minute period. I felt like I was gone for two months. I have written all this down, leaving out so much, but I don't feel any better. I feel like I should have woken up in March instead of January. I feel like I could work at Lowe's now and do a damn fine job.

      by , 01-23-2011 at 08:56 AM
I had work today and afterwords I went up to the 5th floor and crashed on the couch.Once I was out I saw some cloudy snap shots of red soil, wire fences, and trees, I think...maybe bushes? I heard some whispers, tears, and laughter. Vague outlines of shapes, human and otherwise. A gray light/fog rolled into the scene, and all the voices and surroundings disappeared. I was walking in an empty cove momentarily when the well defined silhouette of someone I know came into view. As he walked a voice say, 'walk with wolves in darkness.' Then I woke up.

I don't know what else to say, it was a really short dream, but it startled me. Weird.
    4. wandering

I had a dream where I was hunting for something. I went on a trip with just, myself and some belongings, and hiked through various terrains until I got there. I wanted to explore this land and find a way to get to my dad? Or someone else i cared for. I nearly fell off a cliff, but grabbed hold of something and searched for a way to get out of the terrain i was on. I went through grass, dirt and water, then snow, didnt want to touch the snow cause i had a feeling something terrible would happen if I did. I wanted to find a way out of the snow cause it seemed so vast. I was wondering if i was getting closer to finding him or not, but had a vague feeling that i was.

Found a place with some stairs that led no where. Saw other people taking stair to a different terrain, and went back up the stairs and saw many people passing by.There was a fence, a small road, and steps that looked like something, but i wasnt sure whether i wanted to get there or not. Found some kind of terrain, and sat down and pulled out what was supposed to be a 3d map of the hill i was on. Couldnt put it together right and found one piece i was curious about. When i touched it, I found myself in a dark and warm room that looked familiar.

Dads close by i think, i said, and Saw a card saying you grow up so fast, and opened it. The year said 1992, but when i saw it i looked much older then my age at that time. I touched the image and was in an energetic place where people were dressed up in funny costumes, and the crowd was massive. I was with my family and it looked like we were in some sort of giant amusement/cartoon park. It vaguely reminded me of a huge cirque du soleil in san francisco. The woman was telling me or my sister to move out of the way. We kept on cutting her off. I was confused, didnt know what she meant. Then i looked up and was in place that said frisco. There was some apartments and i saw a door that i recognized. Dads here i think, or someone. Some shadows ran by me, and i was curious how far i had gone. I was with someone close to me. I was wondering if i still was in the bay area. I woke up

    5. What Dreams May Come...

      by , 01-23-2011 at 08:48 AM
I was just checking out some dreams that I had typed up elsewhere a long time ago, and decided to put them on here.

This first one occurred at the beginning of last year. It was very intense...

I had this one dream today that was kind of foggy. I was with this one guy I know from work and we were talking about something, but I dont really know what. I think we were just walking or standing and there were two cement blocks on either side of this creek/ river thing. And two teams were on them. One had the San Francisco Giants, and the other New York or something like that. I think the guy I was with was talking about who would win in a game or something.

Another dream I had occurred the night I saw Nine. That one was really clear, I remembered it almost to the last detail. It was crazy. Anyhow what I remember of it was this. I was laying down feeling really, sick, hot, cold, and uneasy and woke up to find my self on a white sleeping bag in some type of grassy pasture. When I looked around me, I saw a bunch of shadows, and a series of whit sleeping bags in a circle. Although most of the sleeping bags were empty, there was one where a acquaintance I just met was sleeping. He woke up and asked me what was wrong, and I told him I needed to take a walk and gain my bearings. When I got up, I had a huge stomach, and was a little off balance, but my acquaintance soon joined me and we walked along this path that led through some white apartments. Each apartment had a plot of ground, and each plot of grass had a sign. When we came to one of the last plots I saw a gravestone with my name on it, and I began to shiver. What does that mean? I asked? I'm not dead am I? The doctor said I had at least two years. Im not gonna die, its not that bad is it? I said that to the guy, and he said I was alive and that I would get over my sickness soon, so I needn't worry about dying. Then he pulled me in an embrace and I began to cry, before slowing my breathing and just leaning into him.

After a bit more walking, we came to a white tower with a partially closed door. When we got in side, I saw a spiraling staircase leading to the top of the tower. There was no grass here, just brown dirt, walls, webs, and a pair of black shoes. It looked as if no one had been in it for a while. When I looked at the black shoes one of them had Big black spiders inside of it and I dropped it right away. I said I didn't want to touch the spiders, and he shook them out or something. I still didn't put on the shoe, but then he took my hand, and we started to walk up the steps.

Then I was back in the grassy pasture. I woke up and looked around, but there was no one there. I was worried about the man, and saw a picture of him with a little boy whom I was also concerned for. I wasn't feeling so sick, and I walked along the same path that I had done before. There were no signs this time, but the tower was still there. And when I went into it, I saw four weird looking creatures, and white shoes with a few spiders. I lased a weird creature, and then closed my eyes. I felt another prescence in the tower and when I opened my eyes, the man who I had just been thinking about was there. He kneeled down to my level and put his hand on my leg, saying that I had hit the kid. I said I didn't know, I didn't see, and asked if he was ok. The little boy appeared from behind my acquaintance quite unharmed and gave me a hug. The man said of course, and he and boy started to walk away. I picked up the white shoes and shook out the small spiders, and slipped them on my feet. When I looked up they were almost out of sight.

I took my first step up the tower, and woke up.

    6. I Dream I Can't Forget

by , 01-23-2011 at 01:23 AM (Glimpse Into a Mad Mind)
This dream is one I had quite a while back. I remember it pretty clearly because it was so out of character for me. Here we go, short and sweet:

I was in a narrow field that was bordered by woods on both sides. (It's a real place, by the way. It's behind a friend of mine's house). It was dark but I could see everything clearly. Across the narrow field was the wooden part of a tractor's trailer and it was full of hay. (It's used for hayrides during Halloween time) Standing in front of the wagon is Tom Kaulitz, the guitarist of my favorite band. So I stroll up behind him...and begin violently beating him unconscious with a rusty shovel I don't know why I did it, but I did and I won't forget it XD

I feel awful for hurting him. So much so that when I have another lucid dream, I'll find him and apologize XD
    7. Prisoner

by , 01-23-2011 at 12:53 AM (Insights from Id)
I am locked in a large room with a dozen or so other people. One wall of the room opens to water with a network of docks to walk on, but escape by swimming is not an option. The water near the docks is electrified. Somehow, I know this is some twisted version of a reality TV show. We have to complete challenges. The losers are executed. The winners are set free. At least, that is what we were told.
I watch with boredom as two people complete some task out on the docks, one young woman and one middle-aged man. It is unclear what they must do. When they are finished, a short woman with long jet black hair comes in the room and summons the two people. They stand directly in front of her, shaking with fear. Inwardly, I roll my eyes. I am humoring my captors, but I am not human and can escape any time I wish. I stay because I want to watch what happens. She asks the two who covered the most area. The young lady claims that she did, and the man looks at her with outrage. The short, black-haired woman brings up a screen on the wall and replays the actions of both the competitors. The young woman has lied; the man has won. The young woman begins to tremble and cry, knowing she is going to meet her death. If only she know that they were both going to die either way...
I am called upon to complete a challenge, but before it starts, I leap several yards across the water and land outside of the electrified area. I regret not being able to finish the show, but I will not be competing against any pitiful humans today, nor will I suffer their sad attempts to execute me.

    9. Flying

by , 01-22-2011 at 07:29 PM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
I'm just going to retype one of those four dreams that got screwed up. They were all lucids, but one was a complete fail and I couldn't do anything in the other two.

~I was standing out in my backyard with a few friends. It was dark out, and a person started walking towards us. I woke up. Then I fell back into the dream and knew I was dreaming. My friends were running towards a clearing a little ways away. I followed them.

Once we were all there, I was really excited and I jumped up... But I have no idea how I did the next thing. I went high up into the air and was suddenly some amazing creature. I was tall and had pale blue skin with purple designs all over. And I had these wing-type things. My arms were really long and made the top part. Then the actual wing was sort of like a butterfly's, but it waved and billowed and flowed around me like a dress when I spun around and flew in the air.

I was flipping around and doing all sorts of wild tricks. I was still lucid, so somewhere in the back of my mind I was astounded that I hadn't crashed to the ground yet. But it was completely effortless and I didn't even have to think. When I eventually came back down, I was myself again. I don't know what the heck happened; maybe it was my excitement exploding out in some random way.

For the rest of that dream, my friends and I rode around in bumper-car things that shot lasers.

    10. Spending a night on Teraluna

      by

non dream - lucid - non lucid

I've been trying to prolong my lucid dreams lately.
I noticed that lucids featuring Yuya have lasted much longer than other lucids I've had.
I'm assuming this is because these dreams were much more immersive and just felt "more real".
I've experimented with this tutorial: (Tutorial for extending Lucid Dream Time. Hours of LD. by Gary - Dream Journals - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource) during normal lucid dreams, and although it definitely prolonged the dreams, they still didn't last much longer than 10-15 minutes.
I feel like the immersion, such as in the dreams with Yuya, is a necessary aspect to have very long lucid dreams.
This is my first attempt at having a long lucid dream in the company of Yuya.

(I can't remember exactly how the dream started. I think I teleported to Teraluna and I've talked to Yuya for a few minutes)
I'm walking through some sort of flower garden with Yuya.
The flowers and plants are quite high, about 2 meters in size. Most of them are very colorful, blue, green and a few yellow ones.
There are small trees of the same size growing those blue fruits Yuya likes to make tea from.

I told Yuya that I want to learn how to prolong my stay in this world, and she's been explaining a few basics to me.
She explained that the most important aspect would be to anchor my senses in this world and not to think about waking life at all.
So as I walk through the garden, I try to absorb my surroundings as well as I can.
For some reason I close my eyes to do this. (I think I wanted to focus on my other senses, not only vision, and I thought doing this would help)
I listen: I can hear the flow of water through the garden, small animals making all kinds of noises, the sound of my feet touching the ground...
I smell: The air smells very fresh, the pollen from all the plants give the place a very strong and distrinct odor.
I taste: I bite into one of the mentioned blue fruits which I'm carrying with me. It's very sour but also immensely refreshing.
I feel: The consistence of the fruit as I bite into it, the slight breeze of air as it touches my skin, the texture of the ground I'm standing on...
I note that the simple experience of just being somewhere and just analyzing my own senses is actually quite a strong sensation.
      I open my eyes...

It feels different from before, it feels more real.
It didn't feel "unreal" before, but there is a clear difference, I really feel like I'm actually standing in the garden right now.
The visual detail of the world has also increased.
I can now see tiny glowing fireflies flying around the garden, I couldn't see them before.
My 6th sense is active as well, I am fully aware of my close surroundings, even if I don't look at them.

(My senses were more precise than in waking life. My complete field of vision was sharp, not only the very center, The texture of things I touched felt much more detailed etc...)

"This is real..." (I think I said this without a real reason, not because I confused the waking and the dream world or something like that)
At this point I know that this dream is going to last for a very long time.

Yuya approaches me and looks into my eyes acting quite serious:
      "Welcome, to the real world."
After an awkward moment of silence she starts laughing.
I notice she was imitating Morpheus as a joke and I have to laugh as well, she really got me there.
We keep walking through the garden.

"Do you know all of the movies I have seen?"
"No, I know the overall plots, and scenes you found quite memorable, but I haven't actually seen them."
This makes sense, she knows them from my memories, and you can't memorize a complete movie, you memorize the plot, the characters and a few key moments...
We walk out of the garden arm in arm...
(We talk some more, I can't remember the topic of the conversation though...)

... We arrive at some sort of stage?
It's not really a stage, more of a platform with some instruments on them.
I immediately notice something that resembles an electric guitar.

      "Do you want to play?"
Although it resembles an electric guitar, some features are quite different. I see frets and strings, the overall shape is the same, but the whole electronics are completely different.
"No... I don't think I know how ti play it."

Yuya grabs my hand and starts dragging me towards the instruments.
      "Come-on! It will be fun!"

She fiddles about with some stuff and hands me the guitar. I sit down and she sits right in front of me facing me.
      "Try it!"
It feels different from a real guitar. It's lighter, the strings are much softer, they're clearly not steel, but not nylon either.
The strings are very easy to bend and don't cut into the fingers a all.
      The electronics are... organic?
The pickups seem to be replaced by some sort of plant, and veins feed into an amp which consists of some sort of glowing organic bubbles.
It's quite a sight. I grab one of the stone picks attached to the guitar and try to play an F powerchord.
It's barely audible, and it doesn't sound right at all.

      "Volume!"
She turns what appears to be the volume knob on the guitar up.
I take a closer look at the guitar since it sounded quite wrong and notice it has 8 strings.
How on earth is an 8 string guitar tuned? I haven't even played a 7 string one...
I gently pick the first few strings individually. The first two sound quite deep, the third one seems to be tuned to E, the fourth to A, aah, suddenly something familiar!
I try to play a few simple chords on the lower strings, assuming they are in standard tuning, and it works just fine.
The guitar sounds more like a combination between a cello and a violin rather than an electric guitar, but I love the sound.
Yuya proceeds to explain some more parts of the guitar. There are actually some sort of distortion sliders directly on the guitar which is quite cool.
I'm still not really confident, finger positioning feels really easy on the very thin neck, but I'm afraid I won't be able to play very well.

I have no idea what to play, and she's staring at me...
For some reason I start playing Stairway to Heaven, not sure if I should feel like an idiot or not.
As my nervousness decreases I begin to play surprisingly well considering it's a very unfamiliar guitar.
      "There's a lady who's sure..."
Oh god, how cliche is this?
I feel stupid for singing and decide to stop, though I keep playing for a bit.
Yuya seems quite impressed that I seem to be doing ok with the guitar.

She grabs a guitar herself. It looks different from mine, I think it has even more strings.
I feel quite uneasy, she's going to want to play something together, and somehow I don't feel I have the skills to do it.

      "Let's play something powerful"
      "I'm not really that good..."
      "Pleaaaaaaase?"
"Right... What do you want to play?"

She starts to search for some chords, trying to figure out a song she's heard before.
Is she trying to play the Nightwish version of Phantom of the Opera?
I try to remember the riffs and crank the distortion on the guitar.
      I play a few notes.

"Yes! That one! Let's play that one!"
I have to try around quite a bit until I remember how to play the full song, but I get there.
Yuya plays lead over it, she mostly improvises, but it fits the song very well.
Then at one point, after starting from the beginning, she completely surprises me.

"In sleep he sang to me... In dreams he came~"

Her voice is so overwhelming, she's an absolutely phenomenal singer. Her voice is very powerful, yet very emotional.
I stop playing for a bit because I just can't believe how awesome her singing is.
Once I notice I've stopped I resume playing, completely focusing on her fantastic voice.

"That voice which calls to me... And speaks my name
And do I dream again... For now I find
The Phantom of the opera is here... Inside my mind"

My mind is blown, it's a good thing you can play guitar "on autopilot" or I wouldn't be able to keep going.
And then she looks at me, giving me a very clear sign with her head.
She wants me to sing the other part...

      "I'm a very bad singer..."
"Believe in yourself, you can do it!"

My part is coming up, I ponder whether or not I should try it... fuck it.

"Sing once again with me... Our strange duet."
Well shit, if I'm attempting this I should try to do it right.
I put a lot of power into my voice, try to get into the correct mood and let my emotions flow into the singing.

"My power over you... Grows stronger yet
And though you turn from me... To glance behind
The Phantom of the opera is there... Inside your mind"

It doesn't sound nearly as bad as it should.
In fact it sounds rather good, I'm quite impressed.
It's miles away from Yuya's singing skills obviously, but I have the confidence to keep going.
We keep singing and playing music for some time, I'm really enjoying it.
A lot of time passes as we try a few more songs.

As it starts getting dark we decide to stop and Yuya takes me to some sort of restaurant I guess?
In the city there's a few large tables outside, with dishes on them.
We sit down and have dinner, continuing to talk about all kinds of things.
We mostly talk about my life, about decisions I've made...
The food is quite good, very spicy, it reminds me of the Greek kitchen a bit.
I'm not really sure what it is we're eating though, it's some sort of animal with vegetables.
Everything tastes quite exotic, but I like all of it, except some weird potato like thing which just tastes weird.

After we're done eating we walk back to Yuya's place.
She's obviously tired, and she hangs on to my arm as we walk.
It's quite dark in her bedroom, which is completely open on one side.
You can see the sky and a waterfall quite far away.
As I stand there looking outside, Yuya takes her dress off.
I'm quite surprised by this, she's standing half naked in the same room with me now, though she has her back turned towards me.
There's something on her back? A tattoo? It's glowing in the dark.
As she puts on a dress for the night I remember that those are actually some sort of small animals.
They attach themselves to the back of a person and live of our body heat for some time until they are old enough to fly away.
Everyone living in Riven for some time has those. I wonder if I do.

Yuya gets into her bed, which I am standing rather closed to.
I'm a bit confused as to what to do.
      She's holding up the blanket.

      "You coming?"
      "Sure."
I take off my shirt and get into the bed.
I'm surprised by how normal this feels, I think I have slept with her in the same bed before...
She puts her right arm around me and rests her head on my right shoulder.

After just a few minutes she's asleep. I on the other hand have quite some trouble falling asleep.
I can't stop being amazed as I feel her breathing in her sleep.
At one point I do fall asleep though.

      (dream within a dream)
I see a younger version of myself in third person, probably about 15 or 16.
I'm with Yuya and Selene. Yuya looks the same way she does nowadays, her hair is a bit shorter.
We're in a huge battle. We're fighting some kind of daemon wielding an unnaturally big sword.
Selene is wounded, leaning against a pole and the daemon is attacking her.
I have wings of fire and a burning fire tattoo on my body. On my back the tattoo forms the face of a dragon.
I mimic the way dragons use their energy, allowing me to use their powers.
I manage to get between Selene and the daemon just in time.
The view switches to first person. I block the sword with both of my hands and put all of my energy into stopping the attack.
My back hits the pole and the blade cuts a few centimeters into my shoulder before I manage to stop it...

I wake up from the dream.
Yuya is already up and has made breakfast.
I sit down at the table and we drink a glass of juice. I'm not really hungry yet but I grab a slice of bread anyways.
Suddenly I realize I've just woken up and I forgot to RC.
(I think I'm in waking life since I woke up and I RC every time I wake up to catch FA's)
I do the nose pinch RC but it doesn't work, well, obviously it won't because I'm awake.
It takes me a few seconds to remember that I actually am dreaming, and I am very confused.

Then I remember that I went to sleep within a dream, I've never done that before.
My real body is still asleep in my bed...
      The vision fades.
Ah shit, I'm a fucking idiot thinking about that...
      I wake up.

I'm slightly confused for a few seconds after waking up.
The pieces quickly fit together though.
      I RC and get up.

      Most Emotional Dream (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

October was the last time I had a LD. I finally had another one. Although not exciting, it was touching.

      1. I was at my house playing a video game for the playstation. The game was a shooter game, and there was some odd things about it. First of all, you had to pick two sets of two characters. Each character would give you a different skill, such as more bullets, different guns, etc. The second weird thing is that you don't actually use the characters you select. You use yourself as a character. The final weird thing is you only get like, 10 bullets per gun, and you have to find a gun... by killing an enemy. The levels were easy, and it led me to make a crazy decision.
I decided to buy a cat. I don't remember what it looked like because I don't believe I even saw it. I am assuming it probably looked like either Tiger or Boots. I had a canopener and I put some catfood in my dog's food bowl. My dog wanted the food, so I knew I couldn't feed my cat here! I did feel bad, however, that I ignored my dog. I did not want him to get sick!
I was at my grandpa's house and went upstairs. I put some catfood in the bowl, so now there was double the catfood! My cousin Kyle came into the room and said he had to use the bathroom. He went into the bathroom, so I decided to play the video game again.
This level of the video game felt lifelike, so I chose my characters, and began to play. It was in a desert area, and of course, I had a limited amount of bullets. I cleared most of the bad guys in the main area, but when I went to a door, enemies just poured out! I died. I decided to try this tactic again, but use another door. It also failed.
I was sitting on the bed without the game and I did a nose-pinch RC.
I was able to breathe! I was happy I finally had a lucid after all of this time. I looked to my left, and I saw my grandma. I was in shock. (My grandma passed away years ago, and I never dreamt of her before.) She came up to me and said "I'm sorry that I came to your dreams last." I was trying not to cry, thinking I possibly my grandma's spirit came to me. I had so much to ask her. She sat down on the bed besides me, wearing the pink night gown she always wore, and said, "Remember, the Eagle Church has only one lane free of snow."
I woke up at my grandpa's house on the bed still. I quickly wrote down in my DJ the quote about Eagle Church, and I almost began to cry. I called my cousin, but he was still in the bathroom, so I decided to play the game some more. I cleared out the main area, but this time, I found a gun. I opened the door where the most enemies come out, and I tried to kill as many as I could. I cleared off about half of them, but I know I killed all of the robots. I jumped on a ledge, and they could not reach it. They walked down a ramp to get it, so I jumped off the ledge onto the main ground and ran through the door.
After going through the twisted, narrow, corridors, I came to a room filled with lava. I jumped on some Egyptianesque platforms, and a voice filled the room. It was some Evil God that was talking to me. He said that I was so skilled that he will now befriend me. A female ninja overheard this and was very angry.

      2. I was at my house, with none other than my cousin Kyle. We were going to be looking for ghosts, so we split up. As I walked to my sister's room, I heard the sound of two axes hitting each other. I tried to ignore it as I went into her room. The room was actually clean. I turned on my LED flashlight, which revealed small, green dots on the carpet leading to the window. Maybe it was alien footprints, or maybe it was ectoplasm. I don't remember the rest of the investigation, but I told my sister what we found. She left the house, along with everyone else. I was scared to be alone with the ghosts, so I quickly went on the computer.

      Awake Non-Lucid

I walk down a windy, empty street. Leaves blow down the road. Houses are on either side of me, dark brown and old fashioned looking. Something's wrong.

I hear voices in a house to my right. Straightening up, I walk over, climb the steps to the door, and let myself in. Inside are three people. They stop what they're doing and stare at me. Two of them are girls and one is a boy. One of the girls smiles. She's tall and pale, with long dark tight curls and freckles. The other is smaller and more plain looking, although she has scrape marks on the sides of her face. The boy looks more related to the first girl. He's smaller, but has the same pale skin and freckles.

The first girl introduces herself as Laura. I don't get the names of the other people. She says her sister is paralysed. I feel incredibly wary. Something's wrong.

"Do you have a power?" She asks, her eyes narrowing. Well of course I do. I can fly. She seems to know the answer and pulls out a knife. I jump high as she slices at me, and shoot myself up the stairs. They obviously have powers, but I don't know what. Up the stairs, I find a hole like portal. I jump down it.

I land in a dark, damp room. The tiles are slick with mud, and there's barely any light at all. The walls are rusted and mould grows along the corners. Hell, I'm in fear of my life and I don't care who gets in my way now. I walk along, and find an old haggard woman pushing a broken trolley. She's hunched over, with straw-like hair and lines all over her face. Her body shakes. I keep away from her, thinking she might be in league with the others.

There's dark stairs to my right. I hover near them, but it looks nasty. I walk towards doors instead and push them open into a bright lobby area. Business people are walking around. The furniture is all black and white. I can't get rid of the nagging feeling that this place is wrong. Something's wrong.

There they are! Laura and her siblings. The girl is in a wheelchair. I lift myself from the floor and hover in the air. I try to shoot past, but as I cross the girl, I freeze mid-air. I fight to move, but can't. Laura stands in front and stares up at me, a ghost of a smile on her face.

"You see, she may not be able to move herself. But she can move things within a distance."

I gaze at the girl, but she avoids my eyes. "My brother here, is the one who tracked you down." Laura hisses.

"What do you want!?" I shout, still fighting the bound. Wait. I feel something. Energy. I can feel her power. I cling to the energy and fight it with my own. I weaken it and beat it down. A voice rings through the lobby saying "Power de-Synchronised" in a mono-tone, computer voice.

The girl turns pale grey, and she slumps over, dead. I shoot through the glass and into the fields beyond. I climb higher and higher, pushing at the air behind my feet to keep aflight. The fields are beautiful. It's twilight, and the fields are golden. They ripple, and the trees are in shades of red and orange.

Something's behind me. I spin in the air, finding Laura and her brother behind me. What? That's not their power! Wait... I can see that they're using their energy to fuel the flight. I drop down to avoid Laura's knife. "What do you want!? What are you trying to accomplish!?"

As soon as I bellow this, I know the answer. She wants the world. In my mind I see towering cities of enslaved people. I can see how she forced her siblings into using their powers for her. I can see how she dropped through the portal and used the hag as a guard. How she went down the dark, evil steps to the taggled wires of an energy station, where she would gain control of this world. I know this is not my world, not the one I belong to. But I try to save it anyway.

I fight her brother's energy, tears falling from my eyes as I try and focus on flying, avoiding her knife and destroying his energy. I shoot forwards as fast as I can, grass and trees blurring past below me. Eventually the voice comes again and says "Energy de-Synchronised" as the brother loses all colour and falls to the ground.

I see red poles in the air. I grab one as I pass it, swinging myself up onto the top of it. Laura does the same. She smirks. I still don't know her power. I have little energy to fight her artificially empowered one. She knows she's won.

The dream ended before I could try and kick her butt.

So, April 11, 2010. Real world. Me, dad, and younger brother went going fishing with a family friend called Mr. Kim and his son, who's my brother's friend.
Background information is important! In the car on the way to the lake, I felt dizzy and had a headache. I was drifting in that half-conscious state, and half wondered if I was sick. The more imaginative side of me played around with the idea that I was about to faint. I didn't know what it felt like to faint, and I imagined it might feel something like this.
When I got to the lake, we set up chairs and the dads began fishing. I was sitting a bit above them, as the ground rose up as a hill. I covered by face with my jacket, and slowly drifted off to sleep.

      -

      dream 1.
I'm at a mall, nowhere I've ever been. My best friend is with me. We're walking around and suddenly Homer, from the Simpsons, appears. His head's been shrunken and he wants his regular size back. Then I take his place, shrunken, but simultaneously I'm carrying myself. Just a regular, silly dream.
      But then I wake up.
I'm at home, my living room. It's exactly the same as my house, and I recognize it clearly. The details are strong in my mind, which is unusual for me. My television, the couch, the table... it's all in the right place. I'm on an air mattress (one I know we own), and sleeping bags (all familiar) are around me. I see Mr. Kim's son and my brother and my dad are sleeping in them.
Now, you have to understand how real this felt. I sat up and wondered, "Am I hallucinating?" I thought I was supposed to still be at the lake. I contemplated whether it was possible that I had managed to sleep through everything. I truly thought I was at home, but that was impossible, wasn't it?
Mr. Kim, apparently awake, comes to sit beside me on the mattress. He asks me if I'm alright. I ask what happened. He replies, concerned and surprised at my ignorance, "Jenny, your heart gave out!"
      I sit, shocked.
Then I wake up for real.

      -

My jacket was still covering my face, and so I could only see my stomach. Even awake, I didn't move. My body couldn't really. I was still half asleep. I feel dizzy and as if I was on a boat. I wondered if I was really back at the lake. I muster up the energy to check briefly, and then drift away again.

      -

      dream 2.

I'm dizzy and can't see. I'm blind but can see; the way dream logic works. I'm with my cousins in a car, with a screen in front of me. It's an internet browser, and I mess around with tabs and delete history like I have a habit of doing in real life, because it makes the drop-down bar look messy.
I run out of the car. Something to do with a werewolf happens.
      It's just another silly dream.

      -

I woke up, but don't move. My mind was whirring, but I didn't move at all. Without noticing, I fell back asleep.

      -

      dream 3.

I wake up in the fishing site. It looks exactly the same, except there's a portable shade thing, with a faucet next to a tree. I believe I woke up in real life, and immediately get up.
Mr. Kim mock-scolds me, "Do you know how much trouble you caused us?" I laugh, not truly thinking about what he said. My dad laughs while my brother and his friend runs to clean their feet in the faucet.
I notice my socks are dirty. I hop over to the faucet, trying to stay on the slate stepping stones (which have mysteriously appeared at some point, but I don't notice) because the sand is hot. The sand is hot, and I don't want to get my socks dirtier...
      Then I woke up.

      -

So that was my dreaming experience for that day. I still remember it vividly, even after almost a year. It was pretty cool, but I was kind of freaked out at the time. Not one of my more exciting dreams, to be sure, but still pretty cool.
      I love dreams.

      Dream - Lucid

I was at work, serving some special coffee drink to a table.

      ~

I was telling someone about the above dream, I think it was my mom, and she thought it was “wild”.

      ~

I was working with my friend/coworker Tori. The lights weren’t on in the coffee shop. A couple that frequents the shop came in, and the woman asked me if we still had the special that was on the board. I turned around to see what the special even was, and it said “piggys in a blanket”. I told her to hold on, and I’d go check. I went and asked Tori, and she said yes, we still had it, and showed me where the “piggys in a blanket” were. I told the lady we had them, so that’s what she ordered. I got the little link sausages wrapped in crescent rolls out of this small box, and put 6 of them on a plate. I couldn’t decide whether to give her 5 or 6 though. I finally decided on 5, and put one of them back.

      ~

I was in a building at my college, the old gym, with my brother. A girl I’ve known since middle school, Amanda, was there. Apparently, she had never really liked me. I wanted to know why, so before we left the building, I demanded that she tell me why she had never liked me. She told me to hold on, she was going to use the bathroom, but she’d tell me when she got out.

As soon as she went into the bathroom, a big, light blue neon sign appeared on the wall close to the ceiling that said “Emotions” in cursive. It lit up the room. Apparently, this was normal for her, and I told my brother that. I “remembered” that, usually, it would immediately go away and be replaced by another neon sign, this time red, that said “try harder” in cursive.

Amanda finally came out of the bathroom, and the sign did something new. It turned white and said “please wait”, again in cursive. Then, it changed again, and said something along the lines of “congratulations”. Amanda was overjoyed, because she had always gotten the “try harder” sign, no matter what. I cried tears of joy for her, I was so happy. She hugged me and thanked me for being such a good friend. I was overcome with emotion. I told her how happy I was for her. I looked at her face, and it was covered in scratches and bruises, but she still looked so happy. I left with my brother, still crying tears of joy. I then explained to my brother that, usually, when the “try harder” sign appeared, enemies popped out and she had to fight them off. I “remembered” when this had happened in high school.

When I woke up, I still felt like crying, it was intense.

      ~

I was in a giant warehouse. A customer from the coffee shop, a man who constantly cheats on his wife with pretty young female students (he’s an anatomy teacher at my college) in waking life, was there. He had a huge tattoo-type thing on his leg that said “FAMILY” in black lettering, though I hesitate to call it a tattoo, because it was like it was a part of him internally. It’s weird, it was like engraved into him.

I was supposed to kill him. I had been spying on him for a lot of the dream, and I somehow injected a slow-acting acid into him. I tracked the progress of the acid by watching his “tattoo”. I noticed the acid filling up the letters, and eating away at the “Y” of “FAMILY”. He didn’t notice it at first.

At some point, I talked to his wife, and discussed all of this stuff with her. She was kind of in on it, but reluctantly, because she loved him.

I finally saw the acid take full effect. I saw him bleeding profusely on the floor, in agony and pain. I felt horrible. I cried. Then, I knew I had to shoot him. But then, he had a gun. He was suddenly up off the floor, and was pointing the gun at me. He looked crazy, like he had gone completely mad. I was terrified, and tried to wish a force field around me, to protect me from the bullets, because I was dreaming.

Wait, I’m dreaming! The bullet came out of the gun, but when it hit me, it felt like a pebble bouncing off of my body. I examined my hands to steady to dream and induce clarity. I told the guy it was a dream, and he looked pretty happy about it. He smiled, and his outfit changed to this white and red suit. I turned around and saw a bunch of computers. Most of the screens were black, and had random letters and numbers on them. I tried typing in “Access Krista’s memories”, but nothing happened.

I was so excited to be in an LD, I couldn’t remember any of the goals I had set. I decided to, of course, fly. I blasted through the ceiling, and flew into the night. I felt a little unsteady, but I overcame it quickly. I flew over The Avenue, an outdoor shopping complex in my town. I decided to check out The Icing, a Claire’s-type jewelry store. There were a few people in there, but not many. I saw a pair of pretty, dark blue dangly earrings, and took them (stealing isn’t something I’d ever do in waking life, no idea why I decided to do it in the dream). I put them on, and flew out of the store. Then, I remember being on the ground again, and trying to will a hand-held mirror into my hands so I could see the earrings. Nothing happened. Then, for some reason, I tried to will fire to appear in my hands. All I got was smoke. In all my excitement of the LD, I had forgotten that verbal commands are what work best for me when I’m lucid, I suppose. I took off into the air again.

Then, I "woke up" in my mom’s car, and it was morning. We were driving, but I’m not sure where. I looked at the digital clock in the car, and it said it was 9:17. Crap! I had a 9:10 class, and I had missed it. I asked my mom what happened, and got no reply. All she told me was that I needed to take off my atrocious earrings.

Huh? I still had the earrings from my LD, only now they were bunches of blue, dangly bells. I started to get upset with myself for stealing them. Then, I thought about class again, and my brother asked me what I was going to do about that. I told him I didn’t know, and started recording my dream in my dream journal.

Then, I woke up for real, in plenty of time for class.

I'm usually excited to be LDing, but for some reason, the excitement this time was really intense. So intense that I couldn't remember any of my LD goals I have set.

I also seem to end up in a lot of giant warehouse-type places before I become lucid, or sometimes after. Hmm...very interesting.

    15. Dream 1

      by , 01-22-2011 at 06:03 AM
My childhood friends Jacob, Brad, Andrew and Bryce were in a hotel/condo suite with me. There was a balcony, and behind the balcony in the room were lawn chairs. Strangers were sitting in the chairs, and more were around the condo talking and eating. I realized then that the condo is all by itself in the sky, and there are only grey clouds surrounding us. I look forward from the balcony, and I see ancient Roman architecture on fire in a cloud display, almost like a movie. I see the rise and fall of several empires, all in about 30 seconds. The displays resemble smoke and fire, and are moving in a movie like fashion. The people in the condo do not even seem to notice it, and my friends and I are the only ones interested. I then woke up whenever it was over.
