    1. Vivid baboon dream - hammering occurring in real life

      by , 08-28-2014 at 11:30 AM
Morning of August 28, 2014. Thursday.

At the time I was experiencing this very vivid dream, the house next door was being partly demolished by continuous extremely loud hammering and scraping in the kitchen with a tool dropping every couple of minutes (which went on for about six hours - this had also occurred last Friday for about eight hours).

As I am lying in bed in-dream, I notice that to my right, instead of my wardrobe, is seemingly a closer wall of the house with a large recess about three feet up from the floor and some of the area implied to be below the floorboards. A large mouse comes out, with longer fur than normal. Farther in is an additional opening, somewhat circular (but irregular) and difficult to discern and which possibly leads to an underground tunnel - there is not much light inside. Small details of plumbing are vaguely visible or considered. Another large mouse is eventually visible. Soon, however, a baboon-like creature of about the size of a medium-sized dog, though somewhat cream-colored and with vaguely badger-like patterning on head and feet, grabs each mouse, one at a time, and quickly eats it, swallowing it whole. I am somewhat surprised and wary but not really afraid. I turn to the left to mention this event to my wife. For a short time, I hold on to our pet cat which comes into the room, as I get the impression our cat might be eaten by the creature if it goes too close to the recess.

The area has a dirt floor and I seem to be aware that the creature had been continuously feeding on larger mice and perhaps birds for a time. At one point, he is on all fours and is so fat that his stomach and entire torso drags on the ground. He does not seem to be a threat and I do not even sense any danger, as it seems “obvious” that he would not leave the area closer to the secondary entrance. This would not be feasible in reality, as the area would not be big enough and the bathroom is on the other side of the wall that, again, is farther away in real life. However, in afterthought, it is almost as if the side of my wardrobe had a cave-like area to a secret part of the house (partly underground). The layout, as with many dreams, is not feasible, though.

Curiously, I am not aware (at first) of the hammering while in the dream state, although I do often hear real-life sounds “scripting” the dream. The dream eventually loses cohesion and morphs into another less vivid dream of a false-awakening where I am continuously talking to my wife about the person next door and his constant noise and calling him various rude names. I can hear him replying (though not yelling) but cannot make out much of what he is saying (in an only slightly frustrated tone).

It seems fairly obvious that the distorted baboon and the badger-like nuances represented how I “saw” the person next door and how he was intruding on our lives at the time; the “impossible” fatness, however, probably relating to the presence of the louder noise.

    2. Badger at the Crossroads

      by , 06-04-2014 at 12:04 PM
Morning of June 4, 2014. Wednesday.

I am near the intersection of Loomis and Gillette Streets in Wisconsin. My wife Zsuzsanna is with me at the intersection. The two intersecting streets are partly covered with an unusual carpet that looks like Turkish angora calico cat fur. My dream self does not question the idea of a street having a loose carpet over it in some sections (or the fact that it would become dirty and worn in practically no time). I am actually lying on my left side at one point (on the southeast area of Loomis Street before intersecting with Gillette) looking at the carpet. It would be more attractive were it not for the somewhat disordered lumps and folds. The ginger, gold, cinnamon, white, darker brown, a very pleasing burnt sienna, and other shades are in a random variegation. I still see it as an attractive feature.

I am concerned, because there seems to be a small animal under the carpet that is moving about, though it seems to be bigger at times. Cars are mostly going west down Gillette Street and I am wondering if I should lift the carpet up in case the animal wanders too close to oncoming traffic. Zsuzsanna is uncertain if it is an animal, as it may be the movement of folds caused by each car as it drives over it at the center of the intersection. The animal, if it is one, sometimes almost seems to move like a snake, as there is also a slight twisting movement for a time. It may even be a large earthworm.

Eventually, after watching for several minutes, it does turn out to be an animal that had been causing the movement and odd smaller fold shifts, and the animal finally leaves the area as if perhaps he had been looking for food for a time and had not found much. It is an unusual coppery-tinted (more like a mongoose color) badger. He (I assume it is a male) comes out from under the carpet and then walks slowly west down Gillette Street. I am not very surprised but I hope that he does not get run over. The colors are a little similar to the calico cat carpet and there is extra detail in his body markings, almost like handwriting.

An intersection is autosymbolism for neural gating that presents the potential for remaining in the dream state (or going deeper back into sleep) or waking. The carpet as it is featured here is a dream state indicator due to its nature as serving as a blanket. The badger coming out from under the blanket is an analogy to me getting out of bed. In my dream, I am on my left side, as I am oriented in reality while sleeping.

    3. Dream Containing a Strange Dog!

      by , 04-30-2014 at 12:23 PM
April 30, 2014: Used mantra “Tonight I will Lucid dream.” I am in a house which is “mine” but strange. It is configured more like the R**** home, with a landing at the base of the stairs leading to a front door with a glass storm door. The door is open, and through the glass storm door I can see Nina approaching. Glenn (her ex-husband) is upstairs behind me, unseen. When I open the door, our springer spaniel Lacey bolts out the door and begins chasing a large animal which turns out to be a badger. We all (Glenn, Nina, Lynne, myself) end up outside instead of inside, looking for Lacey and the badger, which escaped Lacey and disappeared into a sewer drain at the curb.

It is a beautiful sunny day outside, so we remain on the front lawn. Lacey is nowhere to be seen. The “badger” re-appears and we pursue it through a maze of low bushes of a medium sized front garden. We all wonder and discuss how it could have gotten out of the sewer and into the garden unseen. When we finally get it out in the open and trapped between the four of us, the creature more or less surrenders to being captured. It is not a badger. Rather, it has morphed into a medium-sized dog, a type or breed I have never before seen. It has medium-long hair, mostly tan, with white and black also. The hair on the ears has tufts. It seems sufficiently tame when not being chased that I try reach out for its collar and to pet it around its neck to calm and console it.

When I reach for the collar I find that the dog is wearing a department store style thin cardboard tag like you see on coats for sale. The tag is the color of a manila envelope. The black lettering indicates that the breeder is located in Honolulu, HI, but there is no name of any current owner. I speculate that we could find the owner through the breeder. According to the tag, the dog is a breed called a “FOMTO.” I wake.

      Bear
My girlfriend and I were up above my childhood town by the irrigation ditch which was drained. Sneaking along the ditch was three small anthropomorphic animals. There was a badger, a raccoon, and something else maybe a bird. On the other side of the ditch I saw a baby bear. My girlfriend said "Ahhh". It was cute as all hell and I noticed another one. I knew that momma bear would be showing up and so I climbed up a downed tree and up it at an angle to its stump. It had been cut with a chainsaw, was pretty skinny, and right in front of its stump was another almost identical stump. I was having trouble balancing and intended on jumping to the next stump when I saw momma come through the brush roaring angrily. "Beth, get up here!" Beth is my sisters name and I said "Why did I call you Beth? Sorry, but get up here".. Not like it would have done a bit of good because we were right between the babies and their mother. And now there was two moms. Last thing I remember was deciding whether or not to jump down and run away along the ditch.

      Scuba Diving
I was looking through the newspaper classified for rental homes and came across an interesting add. For some reason it gave a higher price if you were a certified scuba diver or treasure hunter. The scene transitioned and my girlfriend and I were standing behind an old yellow 1 bedroom house by a shallow bay. We stood on a small, cracked patio surrounded by a row of brick that sort of held back the over grown grass, weeds, and bushes. Who new what old useless things were buried in the mud and the grass. It was cold, damp, and the sky was gray. Looking at one edge of the patio under some brush was some tanks and scuba gear. I come to the conclusion that the reason the rent was higher was because of they didn't want to share the treasure.

Soon enough we get into the water and swim around just a bit. I am a bit nervous and so I don't dive to deep. In fact I don't dive any more than I would without gear. Out in the bay are a few old boats and a some steal oil rig looking thing. I decide that there isn't going to be anything out there and that this was a waist of time and possibly dangerous. My girlfriend is is reluctant to get out despite the cold. End
    5. A forest, an angry badger and my old school

This dream was very detailed, I'm surprised I remembered it. Must be the cheese I've been eating. I don't normally write them up online because it takes a while to do. But this one seems like an achievement for some reason. As usual feel free to comment, I don't bite honest.

I was walking through a forest with my brother and two other boys about my age that I've never met in waking life, but we seemed to be really good friends in the dream. before long we came across some large holes in the small hill. So large in fact that my brother could actually fit in one of them. We all thought it must be a badger hole, then the two boys ran off ahead. Then I heard growling behind me, I turned around slowly making no sudden movements and was faced with a massive honey badger just a few feet away (If you don't know; a honey badger is a type of badger that can get really vicious if you threaten it or it's babies) I slowly backed away several metres and it seemed to calm down a bit.
Then I turned around to face what was in front of me, I'd come out of the forest and arrived in a field where some kind of children's fair was being held.I think I've been in this field in a previous dream, except it wasn't filled with a fair before The edge of the field was to my left so I looked over the hedge to see a farmer casually talking to a person in a bear costume.

Then the scene switched and I was in my old primary school, the building had changed drastically though. I was orienteering with my brother but there was no sign of the other two kids, and I thought they must have been left behind. I thought I knew where one of the points was because it had a similar layout to my secondary school. So we ran over to the group of trees where I thought it might be, but before we got to look the two boys from the previous dream ran up to us out of breath telling us that they found it.
I may have said something here but I can't remember because then the dream ended.
