    1. Star Storm and Being a Lamp

      by , 09-13-2015 at 03:13 PM
Morning of September 13, 2015. Sunday.

I am in a seemingly isolated area that feels somewhat elevated (such as some sort of “floating” featureless room), in semi-lucidity, enough to know that my conscious thoughts can make and shape my (unscripted in this case) dream. I think about a snowstorm for no particular reason and I watch a few snowflakes swirl through the air outside, in the darkness of seeming night, seemingly looking west (considering the vague focus and orientation of our real bedroom). I see no land features, just the snowflakes. After a few minutes, I see a blizzard though I do not feel cold at any point. I feel a deep sense of peace for a time, watching the snowflakes swirl around.

I eventually get a vague idea that I am looking into outer space rather than looking outside and into a snowstorm, and then I eventually realize that I “actually” am looking into a “real” outer space scene. Now, stars and planets are swirling around, crashing into each other with brilliant explosions. I am somewhat amused that a simple blizzard transforms into such an amazing chaotic event that seems to imply “the end of the universe”. I start thinking of the scene being reminiscent of “The Wizard of Oz”, where Dorothy is watching all the strange imagery through her window. I even do a vocal “doot-doo” version of the scene where Miss Gulch is riding her bicycle.

I soon get the idea that the little melody of Miss Gulch’s bicycle ride is not really that suitable for the end of the universe, so I try to vocalize “The Ride of the Valkyries” but keep shifting into the “National Geographic” theme. No matter what, I cannot grasp the melody from “The Ride of the Valkyries” without it switching to the other tune. I “realize” that the two pieces have much the same music but with slightly different timing and accented parts. The exact “The Ride of the Valkyries” melody keeps eluding me and I get more and more frustrated that I cannot remember it correctly. In the background, the “National Geographic” theme keeps distracting and even “teasing” me every time I get a little of the other tune correct.

From here, I see that the end of the universe has changed into a basketball game. This seems reasonable, as a sphere is still bouncing about the “cosmos”. I watch passively for several minutes.

“Could you move?” says a young friendly female voice from behind me. Indeed. I find that I had not been looking out a window (even though I was - my dream just typically changed as such), but sitting in front of a large television where a basketball game is being broadcast (and perhaps the other scenes were relevant to a cowboy show followed by a channel changing to an astronomy show followed by it being changed to this basketball game). It is a young version of my wife, seated on a couch and wearing a light pink robe, but in a scenario that implies it is years before we met. “I didn’t know girls watched basketball,” I say. I get up and suddenly stop when I see two people I do not know coming into the room. They are likely token parents of Zsuzsanna’s in this scene. So, obviously, I transform into an antique brass floor lamp. The “father” comes over and pinches my nose and my “bulb”, implied to be at about the same level as my head, lights up the room a bit better. Zsuzsanna has an extraordinarily mischievous grin growing on her face, as she seems to be eating popcorn.

Remembering that I am dreaming (rather than my lucidity being consistent throughout), I decide to try to come out of my brass floor lamp camouflage. This is difficult and I succeed only in wobbling my base while rocking side to side, making a curious clanging sound on the wooden floor. The other male looks around curiously, but then continues to chop some spring onion in the kitchen.

Well, I cannot move as a lamp, so I might as well wake up, which I do.
    2. Snowflakes - First (solid) lucid dream

      by , 04-14-2013 at 12:33 AM

I'm at work, surrounded by all of my colleagues, and the boss' daughter. We're all planning a sleepover there, and as we're joking around, my hands catch my eye. Six or seven incredibly intricate and detailed snowflakes are etched into my palms. I draw my colleague's attention to this, and we all look in amazement. Suddenly, I decided to go to the bathroom, and find myself walking along a stylish corridor, where abstract art has been hung on the dark grey walls. I turn right and realise I've just entered my living room. Astonished, I spin around, taking in my environment. Knowing this is a dream, but still feeling too much under the dream haze, I perform reality checks I remember reading of in an attempt to clear my mind further. I plug my nose, and am unable to breathe. This prompts me to try another, to see if it works. I picked up a book from a bookcase I have in the living room, and read the title. I look away, look at it again, and the letters are still clear, legible, and remain unchanged. Perplexed, I attempt to push the fingers of my right hand into my left palm, and again, the check fails. However, I am still convinced that I am dreaming (For some reason, the snowflakes did not seem to bother me lol). Determined to prove this to myself and clear the dreams influence from my mind, I head to my bedroom door. Standing in front of it, I imagine a sunset. I figured that if this was a dream, I should open the door and see a sunset. Taking a deep breath, I open the door. My room is as it always was, nothing changed, apart from one of my walls having been turned into one big window. After standing there for about two or three seconds, the sky suddenly starts to change colour, and I witness the sun rise, through my bedroom window. I smile; though it wasn't exactly what I'd imagined, it was close enough. Just as the sun finishes rising, the dream scape darkens, and pulls away from me, leaving me standing in the middle of blackness, before waking up.

      Definite Progress! Finally!

      dream : comments : lucid

      17th of January, 2012

Had some failed lucidness early in the night.
I was sleeping and Nooks woke me up saying "it's 9pm, time to wake up!" I was all "Why the shit would you be waking me up at 9pm?" at which point she proceeded to start putting fish on my feet. By that stage I was all "nup, this is stupid, this is obviously a false awakening" and when I did my hand-check I mustn't have been deep enough into the dream and the movement actually woke me up for real. Almost immediately after that I went back to sleep and back into a dream. Not quite a WILD, but I was almost instantly aware. Quasi DEILD, perhaps. Again I was lying asleep except I was a bit deeper in and was this time at a beach. I was in the sand when I woke up again. Did a RC and wasn't dreaming. God damn it!
Back asleep again and THIS time I was still at the beach but could really feel the sand and water. I focussed on sinking into the sand so as to stimulate my senses a bit and really tried focusing on Nooks' face to become hyper-aware. It all sort of worked but then the dream began to fade and I couldn't get it back.
      Ah well. Close.

      -----

I was at some dodgy apartment block and was meeting all the neighbours.

      -----

I was at a birthday party and drinking champagne. Some hippie type girls offered me LSD which I accepted. The acid was on these plastic strips that had different phrases printed on them. The one I took said “Spiders in your mouth”. I half dissolved the strip and suddenly realised I didn’t want to be tripping on acid and remember that it said anything about spiders being in my mouth so I spat it out and asked for another one, which they didn’t let me have. I wanted the one that said "Ice cream".

We went outside where people were drinking and partying in the back yard and I hung around drinking my champagne and having a good time. Presently, I looked up into the sky and was struck with awe. The moon was enormous but different. It was covered in gigantic ice crystals- all perfectly formed like giant snowflakes. The arms of the crystals spread out far into the sky, about twice the diameter of the moon itself. I was totally blown away and ran screaming to the other people to come and have a look. When they came over the crystals had begun dropping off and falling through space towards us. While they fell, they broke into smaller pieces and snowed down on us as snowflakes the size of dinner plates. It was a beautiful experience and I remember turning to Nooks and asking if it was the acid or if it was really happening and she just smiled and nodded before catching one. It was nice.

Later on there was something to do with hot air ballooning in a cave and finding magic mushrooms. That lead into my family having issues with a neighbour shooting arrows into our yard. The neighbour became one of my younger brothers who stabbed one of my other brothers with an arrow and when we told him we would call the police on him he suddenly became really cute and baby-faced. I asked him to apologise and when he did he became a manchild with a seedy ass beard and looked totally creeper. He started apologising in this weird rhyming slang and I decided I hated him.

      -----

Aliens invaded in cool space/aquatic ships. They were all spiky and black. As they landed in the water, huge waves flooded large parts of the city and the street we were on was suddenly awash with buses coming towards us. We narrowly avoided being crushed by the sliding buses and ran up a hill into a park. There, some people offered me cheese and I said, in a very posh voice “no... quite alright thank you” which they scoffed at. I asked if they’d prefer a more bogan approach and said “aw, fuckin’ aliens and shit invading, hey!” then left. We went into a house that had a smaller house inside it and I climbed onto the smaller house’s roof. All of a sudden I realised my teeth were loose and they began to fall out and break apart.

Didn’t do a dream check because apparently I’m an idiot and don’t recognise my own dream signs.

Anyway, I woke up shortly afterwards.
    4. Log 20 Breaking in and huge snowflakes

by , 07-20-2010 at 02:31 PM (World of Kaos)
First dream I wake up to go and work out. After putting on some clothes I gather all of my things and realize my wallet is missing. I think that maybe I left it in my brother's apartment next door (even though he doesn't live next door in real life), so I head next door.

The door is locked. I decide that I should try the key for my door on the balcony screen door, so I climb up on the balcony and try it out. It works! When I walk in there are two guys sitting down on lazy boys playing a video game, and my brother is no where to be seen.

"Who in the hell are you! Get out of here!" They proceeded to yell at me.

"It's not what it looks like! I thought this was my brother's apartment, I left my wallet in there. I am so sorry." I say back to them.

I proceed to climb down the balcony and meet my land lord in the parking lot of my apartment. She looked pretty pissed at me.

"(My name), I am going to have to start from scratch with you regarding background checks," She says to me, "I don't know if I can trust you anymore."

"M'am, it isn't what you look like! I was just looking for my wallet and I could have sworn that the apartment I walked into was my brother's!" I told her in desperation.

The boys playing video games in the apartment scream down to us to make sure to do another background check on me, because they think I was going to rob their place.

Fast-forward: I am sitting in my apartment with my wallet somehow, and my roommate walks in. He proceeds to tell me "Hey, there's my wallet."

      Dream gets hazy after that.
      _______________________________

I walk out of my apartment (very much could have been another false awakening) that I live in at college, and the cul-de-sac from my hometown is there somehow instead of my regular apartment building parking lot. It is snowing outside, but by no means is it regular snow. Dropping from above were snowflakes the size of my head, dropping extremely slow. Along with these massive snowflakes were regular sized snowflakes as well. I remembers asking about the snowflakes to one of my friends standing with me about why they were so huge, but I do not remember what their reply was.

I was extremely fascinated by the gigantic snowflakes, and I grabbed one. As I grabbed it, it proceeded to fall apart in my arms. I remember how weird it was for these massive snowflakes were to me, but I didn't even RC at all.

After this, we all ran into the middle of the cul-de-sac and started having a snowball fight. The snow felt so cold and so real. After this, my alarm went off and I woke up for real.

Note: This second dream really pissed me off. This is because this dream in particular was basically begging for me to perform an RC. This is because snow is by far the biggest dream sign I have, and not only that, but the huge snowflakes was intuitively telling me about how weird it was. Ugh! frustration...
