    1. Second Lucid! City Cartoon Scape

      by , 08-26-2010 at 04:26 PM
I am so excited that it hasnt even been a week and I have had my second lucid dream!

I started in a house like a country style house, very nice and detailed. It had a lot of mirrors and things and all I remember from this point is that I was walking frantically back and forth and I had went to the back room and turned around and walked into the hallway. Then I stopped in front of a mirror and looked at myself. I was a old man. Then it hit me that I was in a dream! The feeling of it changing from non lucid to lucid was amazing I can feel the change in my brain. I then turned back into myself and felt myself coming out of the dream. Then I spun around right quick and everything was great. Spinning for me is the best which I found out from my first lucid dream. I put my hands up and concentrated on them but i did that just in case lol. Well then I ran down the hall and I think i felt myself coming out again and I spun around while running. Then there was a glas door leading outside and I went outside and there was a tree. Well I told myself I wanted to be in a city after I woke up from my last lucid dream so I was walking in a circle around this tree and I wanted a door to appear. Then the branched hung really low so as I was walking the door appeared from a low hanging branch (hard to explain) I then saw something through the door but it wasnt the city scape I wanted. I began to think about the city scape and walk around it one more time. Then I looked through it again and i still didnt see what I wanted but i walked through anyway (The door didnt have a door door... it was just the frame) When I walked through I saw a cartoony style landscape and purple trees and wierd odd things I cant really remember. Then I looked to my right and saw my city scape but it was alll cartoony and there was futuristic style cars and flying cars and like 4 or 5 levels of sidewalks floating. Then I concertrated on the grass I was standing on. It was really cartoony and fake looking. I nelt down and looked at it and it was all pixlelated and weird looking. I was disappointed cause I was expecting a realistic landscape. Then I woke up unfortunately. Oh another thing I felt my dream really unstable... I cant describe the feeling I felt I knew I was lucid and at the vurge of waking up but I wasnt sure how to get in my dream completely without that feeling. I could feel myself breathing and things it was such a odd feeling. Yet again I felt myself laying in bed yet I was standing in my dream.
    2. Tree Beard Fragment, and Windows to The Other Side

      by , 08-15-2010 at 03:16 AM (exdreamer's Dream Journal)
      Key: Non-Lucid, Lucid

I really wish my recall would get back to some kind of consistency!

      Tree Beard Fragment

I was looking in a mirror. I noticed that by chin and neck were made out of tree bark -- roughly in the area where my beard grows. It was all cracked and browny-green looking. I felt slightly shocked and uncomfortable.

I had this brief dream the night before last, having just shaved my beard off a day earlier. It's really weird going clean shaven after having a beard for a few years -- although it's obviously even weirder in my dreams...

      Windows to The Other Side

I was back at secondary school. C was there, and I think L, and we were standing near the main gates. There was a strange light coming out of nowhere and engulfing the area. There were spirits of some kind that we could see. It was some kind of portal or window to a spirit realm or so I figured.

It ended and we went to another location in the school where it happened again. We gathered around it and watched. It happened several times in different places, and each time more people would come and watch what was happening. I spoke to M outside the canteen and explained about the strange spirit portals that were appearing around the school.

The next thing I recall is entering one of the buildings. I was going to a math lesson, but wasn't sure where I was going. I walked to where I thought my classroom was and looked inside. For some reason I decided it was the wrong place and went up the the first floor instead. The first floor of the building was wrong: it was actually the first floor of the art & technology building.

As I descended the stairs I started shouting at the people who were entering the building. I felt really pissed off. I walked in the the classroom I had left before and realized that was actually where I was supposed to be.

I sat down. The room was configured a bit differently from how it was in reality. The teacher, Mrs. H, was asking if people had done their assignments. I knew I hadn't bothered to. I had very mixed feeling of nerves and getting in trouble and extreme defiance. Eventually she asked me, and I decided to go with defiance and told her I didn't give a crap.
    3. Too Short for Your Car

      by , 08-12-2010 at 03:07 AM (Zukin's Dream Journal! <3)
I was at a school, maybe it was elementary school. I was coming out the exit and I was seeing little kids, but I was seeing what they looked like when they grew up at the same time. I stopped at a bench to find the car keys and caught a glimpse of my hair in the reflection of a window. I had a blue hair band on and my hair was light brown and straightened.

I walked out to the parking lot and got in my old friend's car. I had to pick him up and then drive to meet my friends for a road trip. The seat wasn't right for my height, so I tried to scoot it forward but there wasn't a nob or lever to do so. I could barely reach the pedals. I managed to make it out of the parking lot and drove out onto a dirt road surrounded by trees. I pulled over to the side so I could try to readjust the seat again, but I couldn't. There was a small tree growing on the shoulder where I was parked, so I couldn't pull forward so I had to put the car in reverse to get back on to the main road.

I pushed the pedal down and the car went backwards, I hit the brake but the car didn't stop! What the heck! I tried the other pedal but it didn't work either. The trunk of the car hit a tree, which finally stopped it. I got out of the car and came around the back side, there was a HUGE dent in the shape of the tree. Definitely noticeable. Shit, shit, shit! He was going to be soo pissed off at me! He wasn't the nicest of people that I have met and I know that he would be more than upset about this, to the point where it might be dangerous for me to be in the car with him.

Since the car was useless because it only drove in reverse (and I wasn't going to drive it backwards down the road like I did in other dreams), I needed to walk to a town and find a phone. I believed that my mother's workplace was close in proximity to where I was, but I didn't even know what street I was on. I saw a lady walking down the street with a few grocery bags. On the beige grocery bags it said Kristain.

"Excuse me, where is the nearest town?" I asked her.

"There's a small little town that way," She said pointing down the street, "And there is another bigger one if you follow the road the other way." She told me to follow her. As I followed her down the narrow, unpaved street the trees morphed into the hallways of a school. I was now in a larger building, several stories into the air. I lost track of the woman and nearly ran into a teenage boy. I asked him if I could use his phone. He got really pissed off and shoved me to the ground and started yelling expletives. It just really wasn't my day, huh?

I eventually found my mom and asked her if she could drive me to San Dusky because I had a Pokemon tournament (whaat I don't even play that game LOL). I was led into a large room and a little late too. A tall guy with blond hair smiled as he saw me and stood up. He said that he would be my starting partner for the tournament. He said, "Ooh nice hair," and patted it. I could see in the mirror that my hair was blond with waves.

    4. Vivid but Fragmented

      by , 01-09-2009 at 05:18 AM
I had another dream last night that I know was very vivid, unfortunately I can't remember any of it beyond the fact that there was some sort of house, and my mother and brother were involved. It's noteworthy that although I think the house may have been run-down, it wasn't haunted or scary. I also have fragmented impressions of lots of greenery (lots of plants and trees, perhaps in a greenhouse) and maybe a short man in a suit. I know that I didn't want to wake up this morning because there was something in the dream I needed to resolve. Also, something about traveling along a highway in a car, and the highway may have been near the sea.

More fragments may come back, sometimes fragments of dreams I've 'forgotten' have resurfaced after a while.
    5. Ugh, Middle School

      by , 06-19-2008 at 03:01 AM
Original dream dated June 18, 2008):

Had a dream I was in middle school again (and therefore, generally terrified). I stopped in a classroom to have a conversation with Bruce Campbell, who rather than simply being in Spiderman WAS Spiderman.
I discovered, to my chagrin, that the lock combination on my locker was the same as the lock on another locker, and that this was a prevalent problem. I went to go and point it out to someone.

A group of little assholes had hurt a friend of mine, and they had decided to start messing with me, too, so I actually decided to get even with them. I got into a fight with them and managed to beat the shit out of at least one of them. One of the others was this big, fat girl with a snout like a mole or a shrew that was constantly oozing mucous. She expressed her displeasure at the fact that I'd harmed a friend of hers, and we got into a yelling match about who had started it. Ultimately, it didn't matter, because the gang of kids wouldn't leave me alone, so I got them isolated in a park and took them down one by one.

The next dream was also pretty jumbled. I was riding with Mom and my brother to class, and class started at 11:40 (in the dream, I was back in middleschool, again) and I was late, again, but Mom wanted to stop by the beach first. On the way, we discovered that an orange tabby cat had accidentally hitched a ride on the outside of our car. We opened the window and grabbed him and pulled him in. He was very soft and friendly, and I liked him a lot. He behaved as if he were somebody's pet.

When we got to the beach, Mom wanted to leave him there because she didn't want a cat in the car, and I said that was cruel because he'd obviously come from somewhere else and was clearly somebody's pet. She said we'd come back for him, but I said he didn't know the area and was bound to wander off (and I didn't believe her, anyway). She left, but for some reason the beach area had been transformed into a jungle kingdom. In any case, I decided to stay with the cat until Mom came back because my reasoning was that the cat's life was more important than one missed day of class.

As I wandered through this area, I found a huge tree that also had a throne, and a pelt nailed to it. I took the pelt down and kept wandering. There were wood-and-vine tunnels, like tunnels through a massive tree, and apparently I'd stumbled into the kingdom of some sort of nasty dictator. In any case, I found a snake - a large ball-python - and played with him for a bit. Then I heard a legend about a snake that came out of the throne from a hole in the back of the tree that it was carved out of, so I went to investigate. I found the hole and knocked on the trunk next to it, and the snake slithered out. He was a very pretty snake, very glossy and red and black, and very docile, so I picked him up and draped him over my shoulders and walked along with two snakes and the cat. People were scared of the snake, for some reason.

I came to a beach, where three men were planning on crossing, one of them called himself Columbus and they were determined to cross the sea, only all that they had was a lttle dinghy. But some sort of reward was being offered for getting to the other side. I decided to accompany them on their adventure, for some reason, but once we got the boat launched from the beach, the dream sort of faded out.

In the next dream I was at an old apartment (from when I was.... in middleschool) and getting ready to go to class. Thankfully, I wasn't actually in middleschool any more - this was like a special event where college grads went and talked to the kids. I was still late, though.
    6. Baby bottles and the river styx

      by , 01-29-2008 at 02:40 AM
Original dreams date to Jan. 27th and Jan. 28th, 2008:

I had a dream that I bought some shelf space in a department store - the way things worked in the dream, you pretty much rented shelf space like property and oversaw the placing of products there. I decided that I needed to fill it, so I bought a baby bottle and formula factory, but for some reason I couldn't manage to get past the legal hurdles and difficulties involved in getting the factory up and running and placing the products on the shelves. I was very confused by the whole process, and it frustrated me, and I was worried about it causing some serious problems with my taxes.

Some real world information on the next dream: my friend, Mrs. Y____, passed away the day before. It was some very sad news, but she was a very old lady, and I was glad that she had at least simply passed in her sleep rather than suffering through a long illness. She was a very sweet old woman, so I will miss her. I didn't get a chance to call her before she died (I had moved to another city), which means this dream makes slightly more sense.

I dreamed that I went to visit Mrs. Y___, but she had moved somewhere else, which required me riding on a boat across a sea. The boat was sort of like a cross between a cruise ship and a Navy ship. I spent some time talking to the second in command, who was a very nice young man with brown hair and appeared to be in his late twenties, but the Captain was nowhere to be seen. Once I reached my destination, I had a little bit of trouble finding Mrs. Y___ because I wasn't quite sure where she lived. The place actually looked almost like a tourist town - sort of like International Drive in Orlando.

When I finally found her, she was living in a sort of out of the way place, it looked like an old white house surrounded by thick forest - more like swampy forest, though, mangroves and such - down a dirt road. As I walked down the dirt road through the forest to Mrs. Y___'s mansion, I was surprised to see several black futon bed frames fly by, although they had no obvious method of locomotion. It later turned out that one of my friends had rigged a tiny motor to them so that they could roll on their wheels to their destination, which made moving them around easier. I was worried that it would wear the wheels down too fast, since they weren't designed for such heavy or high-speed usage, but he assured me that futon wheels were cheap and it didn't do them any real harm.

The house looked slightly run-down, but in a welcoming way - if it had been more polished-up, it wouldn't have seemed very homey, and this way it seemed more comfortable and lived-in - and Mrs. Y___ actually seemed to prefer this.

We chatted for a bit, although I don't remember most of it. It was the usual "how are you" and then one of her favorite subjects, which was her home country, and her usual argument that I really ought to visit there because she thought that I would like it and want to stay and live there. I fell back on my usual argument (that I wouldn't fit in very well), which she dismissed like she usually did. I promised her that I would visit it at some point in the future, when my finances allowed, and this seemed to make her happy.

Back in the main city, there were quite a few theme parks, which Mrs. Y___ and I explored. One of them was autumn-themed and had a lot of very cool areas filled with colorful buildings and lights, there were mostly children there since it was aimed at children but neat enough for more than a few adults to check it out. We went up into one building which was a staircase that rose into the air, covered in orange balls of light, and the building was shaped like a giant pumpkin sitting in a tree. I don't remember, but it may have been a restaurant.

In any case, after visiting for a while, I had to leave. After returning back home, I found out that my mother had had to move, and had given my cat - whom I had left with her - up for adoption. It was implied that he had been adopted by another family. I don't own a cat in real life. The cat in question was a very friendly fat orange tabby tom-cat named Halloween, and I was heartbroken. My friend M___ and I went searching for Halloween - it was autumn in my dream now, and went driving down a dirt road on an ATV. We wound up at a place that looked a lot like the theme park that Mrs. Y___ and I visited while I was visiting her, only it was decrepit and abandoned. I never found my cat.

The dream then changed. I was upset, so I went to visit my aunt L___, who had moved into a very large and old Victorian-style house. I began planting plants all over the house, in pots, in the yard, even inside between the floorboards, and the plants began to grow. My aunt was very pleased, although a little bit worried that the roots might do damage to the floorboards, so I pulled some of the larger ones. The plants began flowering, and the flowers were all very exotic looking, so that there were sprays of tiny blue flowers coming up from the floorboards and all sorts of gigantic tropical orange and purple and green flowers covering the building. When I stamped on the floorboards, they had turned hollow and become filled with plant roots rather than wood.

I woke up for a while, and then as I was falling asleep again, I began to dream about voices (only voices). I was still half-awake so it might have freaked me out if I weren't used to this happening. There were two male voices, one older and one younger, they sounded prophetic (which, again, is fairly normal in some of my stranger dreams). They were talking about history or something, although I forgot what they were saying, except for a line or two here or there, something about beasts. I then fell asleep.
    7. Haunted Swamp

      by , 10-01-1977 at 04:01 PM
Morning of October 1, 1967. Sunday.

I am on my own, possibly in late morning, in a drifting canoe, going southward over a river (the Hillsborough River) in a swamp in Florida that looks like a part of Lettuce Lake Park.

On the banks of the river are very tall cypress trees. There seem to be continuous tall vertically stretched faces of which are superimposed against the trees, but are likely not meant to be the trees themselves, more like a ghostly presence or a strange optical illusion, similar to a funhouse mirror effect.

A few of the faces seem wary of my presence, even though I am a young child, with mouths open, though there is no certainty at some points that they are aware of me. There is a bluish green hue on everything at times. The closely clustered faces, as well as being stretched from ground to treetop and very narrow in appearance, also seem to waver very slowly at times, or have a bend near the middle of the face. They are both male and female, mostly all adults. They are only to my right, near the bank of the river. The faces otherwise do not move much. Despite the eerie imagery, I feel no fear, especially as a few of the faces seem afraid of my presence at times.

Variations of this dream, both lucid and non-lucid, occurred a number of times from earliest memory. The causes behind this dream are fully known. It developed over the autosymbolic rendering of “drifting into sleep” (spoken mainly by my mother in real life when she was describing my status when I was resting in bed) and mixing the association with drifting in a canoe into a recognized form of dream state induction, which of course has no waking life relevance due to it being a factor of the dream state itself. It is still a major factor of my dreams, water being autosymbolic of the essence of sleep. This dream’s setting was an area my family and I visited in real life when I was very young.

    8. A Family of Trees

      by , 10-10-1975 at 08:09 PM
Night of October 10, 1965. Sunday.

This dream is not very complex, but is one of thousands that has been revelatory and proven to be of a long-term precognitive nature. In this case, however, it related to Susan R as the “other” rather than my yet-to-be wife. I believe this is relative to a deliberate play on “branching” from a so-called destiny point prior to becoming aware of it.

In my dream, I am not sure of the exact location. It is possibly based on an area near Chipmunk Coulee, but not higher on a bluff. There is a seemingly abandoned house which I believe faces east, with an older one-lane road running north/south. The large front yard is filled with several old, gnarled trees (not sure of the type, but possibly oak). I am not exactly sure if the house has a real-life version. It seems mostly unfamiliar - or at least I thought so at the time.

Over time, I learn that the trees were actually people who had been transformed by possibly a witch. These people were the family that had lived in the isolated abandoned house. They were of various ages even though they are now seemingly very old trees. They have large human-like faces, about double or more the size of a person’s (but still with all the characteristics of wood and bark). There is a slight similarity to the “I do not think that I want to be a tree” dream which actually did relate to the “mystery girl” (future wife).

I seem to be given the task of going into the house to find a cure or to give them some sort of (commercial?) medicine, which, while perhaps not making them human (although they can still seemingly talk and interact, just not uproot themselves and “walk” or move much at all), will still help them somehow. This theme repeated in a similar way (going to get medicine to help someone) in several other dreams - including the one with several short and long-term precognitive layers regarding my yet-to-be wife (regarding “The Tired Queen”). Over time, however, the mood and level of awareness changes, and I become aware that it is unlikely that the trees are actually human-like in any way. Nothing much happens after this. I have left out some personal information regarding connected scenes.

The long-term precognitive aspect of this is quite intriguing. This was one of the only, more precise dreams related directly to Susan R (the “other”) in its implications. In fifth grade, an unfriendly classmate, Bobby G (I believe the son of the school principal or boy’s dean), had (during the task given for each student to write stories for the lower grades), written his story about a “family of trees” (with the same title as my original dream summary at age four) that had human qualities, and one of the last parts being “had one tree” (meaning a “baby”) and living happily ever-after. My story was “King of the Birds”. The strange thing was, he bullied me the whole time on “birds can’t talk” while his story was about human-like trees having a human-like life (and also apparently talking in one way or another). This was so hilarious, I held no anger, as it made him appear quite idiotic (especially as there are certain types of birds that can “talk”, and the stories were “just stories” for younger students at that, some others of which also had the essence of fables).

During the same day, Susan first made it known (more clearly and seriously, anyway) we had some sort of “connection” (and this was long before I read anything on soul mates). She asked me to sign my name on her copy of my story. Bobby G asked if she wanted his and she made a negative sarcastic comment. This was one of those days that become “fixed” in my memory. I knew there was something unusual (and “unseen”, but more powerful and important than mankind in my view) going on but I could not understand it. Susan was one of only two people I was absolutely certain of a clearer “unexplainable” link (the other being my wife). I was the only one whose signature she wanted on her copy of a story.
