    2. Small Battle Royale w/ James Sawyer Ford, Locations I'd Like to Come Back To ,and the ANCHOR Command

      by , 06-03-2013 at 07:42 PM (TangaNdoto's Dream Journal)
Alright. First off, I'd just like to say that these titles are getting progressively more ridiculous, and that I am well aware of the fact. However, they're actually pretty accurate. This dream was a type of battle royale dream and Sawyer was in it as well. Why have I been dreaming about so many male celebrities recently? I don't know. I swear to God I'm not trying. But think about it. So far, I have had Tom Cruise and Josh Holloway ( I saw Sawyer because it looked like his clothes were dirty and all the other fashion that takes place on a nearly deserted island).
Ok. Let's go on with the actual dream.
Now I'm going to completely change topics and start with what I assume has to actually be before the battle royal part of the dream, but on the other hand that's impossible because I remember waking up during the battle royale part, so I must assume that it was before. Anyway, I see what is Lupin in the hallway, from the Harry Potter series ( wtf, celebrities, what are you doing in my dreams?), technically he's called David Thewlis, kneeling over what I think is a carriage containing a baby Harry Potter. At first he's talking to it like he's trying to help it, but then he starts getting angry at it saying stuff like " It was you! " and " You did it, didn't you? " In the meantime I'm watching this from out the bathroom door and uh, pretty confused at that point because it's not every day that you see Lupin getting mad at baby Harry Potter outside your bathroom in the hallway. Anyways, I watch him a bit and then something happens. Now, I don't know If I lit the carriage on fire or Lupin did. Anyway, Lupin left lighting or not setting fire to the carriage. I came out there and tried to stop the flames by fanning air on the carriage. Just like in real life, this never really works, and the only thing it did was make it worse. So I run back to the bathroom and get I think a handful of water, cupping it in my hands, and throw it on top of the carriage, and it goes out. I take it and put it in the bathroom and keep putting more water on it, and while doing this suddenly I hear my parents from downstairs. I get worried because I think they'll be angry at me for the battle royale that just happened, and also because they got my report card, yeah, pretty cliche I know, which had one grade on it that was not so good. So anyway I'm in the bathroom and I think my dad calls me down, he calls someone downstairs anyway and there I am in the bathroom trying to put out the carriage of baby Harry Potter. Jesus. Another thing, I realize that if I was worried that my parents would be angry at the sort of battle royale than that means that this dream must have occurred after that already happened, right? But . . . ah, what the hell.
Let's get onto the interesting part. Myself, Sawyer, and a couple of my friends, I remember in particular JC ( not Jesus Christ, if you were wondering ) and possibly JL, were in the front yard side of the house part by the patio. We were there and I just remember that all of a sudden people started yelling and people started coming after us. At this point this gets really action-packed, and I wish I was lucid during it so I could do the actual fighting ( although, assuming that I wouldn't pussy out, I really need to work on my dream control at the moment). So everybody runs off being chased by somebody. This sort of skinny black man is chasing me, and I'm pleading with him to stop saying stuff like " Come on, stop it man! " and he's still chasing after me. After some of him still running after me, I decide to take my cellphone out of my pocket and throw it right in his damn face. The thing is an Iphone 4, and let me tell you, it made face-smacking history by the contact it made with his face. It stunned him so much that he stumbled aside a little bit, but then began chasing me again. Now, I'm a very fast runner when I want to be and run as a hobby, but for whatever reason in this dream my legs were getting sore and I couldn't run very fast at all. So all of a sudden I kind of turn backward and just elbow or punch him, I don't know what exactly, but he swerves aside and falls on the ground, and I run off. There could have been one more punch thrown in there, but I'm not sure. I run alongside the house past the garage and that area and then reach the front by the grass on the end of the driveway. All of my friends are there and seem to have made it, and I saw Sawyer there just smiling and I think I said something like " Yeah, we made it! ". And I ran in to give him a hug. Now, that might seem like a sort of weird thing to do but you've got to keep in mind that this was a pretty traumatic experience. So I run in for this hug and at the last second, for some reason, I end up just running into his chest. That was a bit awkward, so I say like " Chest bump, hahahahahahaha " and then we actually do chestbump. Now let me ask you by the way, have you ever chestbumped Sawyer in one of your dreams? No? That's what I thought. Then I went over to JL and said something about the whole experience I would assume and she started laughing, probably at me, knowing her. This got me annoyed. I mean, come on, I had just defeated a black man in combat and she's laughing at me? But anyways, I then wandered around I think somewhere around Sawyer again and I can't remember exactly why but I realized I was dreaming and then that I was having a lucid dream. At this point I lifted my hands up to my face to look at them, and did that for a bit. They went sort of grainy, and then I faded out of the dream.
In my complete dumbassery I was too stupid to realize that this was the perfect opportunity for a DEILD, or, if that didn't work, a FILD. However, instead I just woke up in bed and started moving around and the light was too bright for trying a WILD. Next time I think I'll be more prepared, tho. Also, I remember something in the dream about a book store, and if I remember more if it throughout the day then I'll come back here and update it.
      Alright, on to dream locations.
      Dream Locations
Now I plan to describe in detail two of the locations I have been in dreams so that I might go back there in future dreams, possibly during a DEILD or even FILD, once I get experienced enough to pick my surroundings during them. So, without further ado, let's begin.
      • Sleek Ocean City

This was the city in my first dream that was Florida in the dream, but it doesn't look much like the actual Florida so I'm just going to call it this. All of the buildings in this city are white and sleek, some of them tapering up like that building in Dubai that looks sort of like a flame tapering up. The buildings, while modern looking, are not scary or imposing, and there are still normal buildings and trees, probably palm trees, interspersed through the city, as well as patches of forest. I would assume that the ocean must be to the East of the buildings because I think that that is how it was in the dream. I think that that about wraps that all up and is good enough.
      • Canyon Mountain

This was also from the first dream. It's pretty much a fairly steep mountain that looks like a canyon further up, and some of it's sides are green. The sky is fairly clear, I think almost completely, and bright blue. Tom Cruise was there originally in the dream but he doesn't always have to be there.
      The Anchor Command
The problem with my lucidity in this dream was that I was only able to keep control of it for a few seconds, which is what usually happens. To stop this, I think I should come up with a command that will hopefully stabilize the dream. When I talked in the dream and said " Enhance " or " Enchance Clarity " or something like that, I actually heard myself talking, which surprised me. However, I really think that I should come up with a better command. I've decided that yelling " ANCHOR! " very loudly while at the same time gaining awareness of all around me, particularly the clearness and clarity of what I'm seeing and the sound, will help with this. This will be the command that will literally anchor me to the dream. I also will make it shoot me up a few feet into the air so from there I can start to fly. I also have to remember, next time, that rubbing your hands together and spinning around also can work, and that in the case that I do exit the dream I can use a DEILD, or, if that doesn't work and I wake up, a FILD, to get back into the dream, because I could have done that last night but forgot! Wow, long entry. That's about it for today!

    3. A Polite Lucid Rampage

by , 02-04-2012 at 08:19 PM (Lyrics to Lunacy)
I was watching curious George. I was George, apparently. Me and my chaperone walked into a bowling alley in what seemed to be some sort of square or park in an urban town.

I was now myself. My chaperone turned into some scruffy convict-looking type wearing black and brown. We were sitting at a table inside of the bowling alley. He was looking at screen, it looked like a GPS on an iPad-like device. I was watching a red pulsing dot on the screen, over his shoulder. It was getting increasingly closer to our location.

"Fuckers' trackin' us," My scruffy companion announced. They're tracking us? Seems more like the other way around.

"Come on, we might be able to delay 'em." He says.

I followed him out the door. It was evening now, and there was a man waiting for us on a long motorbike with some sort of cabin, it was like a cross between a mine cart and a motorcycle. He forced us in, and drove off, with a strange respect for the road laws, even though he looked like a gangster.

"Best paying job yet," The driver commented. "CIA paid me six hundred million to get you guys, eh?"

Half way to my house, I was transitioned to a van with my family in it. We were still going the same way.

One long wait at a light later, we arrived at my house, with a government van behind us. We parked in the driveway, and my eyes rose to the sky, full of stars and still red from sunset. There was something weird about it. There seemed to be a giant planet in it. What planet, I wondered. I examined what I could see out of the windshield. It was earth, I noticed. I could just barely make out Mexico.

I considered Earth for a moment. A bit odd, I thought. Is this a dream? No, it cant be... Oh, wait, except it is!
I realized, and with the energy of sudden full lucidity, I burst out of the car door and ran around in my family's yard with my brother and father. I came across a mound of dirt that was not there in waking life, under a fully leafed tree, though it was winter.

"Anchor dream," I cheered. My father snickered at this. I looked around the yard.

I decided to run out into the road and talk to some DCs. It was suddenly morning. I saw several friends from my school roaming the streets. They didn't live here. I met a friend near a tree.

      "Hey, guess what?" I said.
      "What?"
"I'm in a dream! But not in your head, my own, so it doesn't matter that I'm telling you this!" I laughed.
      They rolled their eyes.
"Anchor dream!" I yelled at them. I then ran off down the road.

The dream shifted into me standing in a line of students somewhere in the second level of my school. I was still lucid. I threw the assorted objects I had in my hand aside into assorted machinery, nobody cared but the guy behind me, be cause he was trying to steal some of it. I stood in line for a while until I figured something out.

"Oh wait," I said. "Screw this. Anchor dream." I walked out of the line, around some machinery, and into the next room. A teacher had given me papers as I passed, I threw those aside, too. I scattered all over the left side of the next room, which was only storage. I proceeded.

This room had three teachers trying to stop me inside. They were maneuvering around a pile of boxes.

"Is there somebody you need to see?" One of them asked, still trying to get to me.
      "Nope," I pushed past them.

I now came into a similar, but larger room. It had large windows for me to jump through, but before I could reach them I awoke suddenly, too awake to DEILD, but I felt satisfied.

"Anchor dream," I cheered. My father snickered at this. I looked around the yard. Oh, right, I remembered. IOSDP tonight. I thought about Chichen-Itza, but remembered we weren't doing that any more. So I tried to focus my attention on shared dreaming and the IOSDP and whatnot. After 15 seconds of trying, I came to the conclusion that it was to hard and stopped impulsively.

I decided to run out into the road and talk to some DCs. It was suddenly morning. I saw several friends from my school roaming the streets. They didn't live here. I met a friend near a tree.

    5. So this is what lucid dreams are supposed to be like. (5/17/11)

      Dild

Today I was blown away as the true potential of lucid dreaming was revealed to me.

As I rested in my bed early morning, In hopes to go back to bed and possibly have a lucid dream. As I slowly drifted in and out of dreaming, I became aware of it, and gained lucidity. Initially, this lucid dream felt like the majority of my other lucid dreams- hazy, boring, detached, possibly on the verge of waking up, more of a daydream were I have to push myself to be creative.- but then things started to change. I grounded myself, and let the lucid dream slowly sink into place. Overtime, the dream continued to gain clarity and focus. Two aspects of this dream that I had only dreamed of having (no pun intended) were also slowly becoming present:

      1. A dream that keeps on creating itself.

I found this interesting that I was still surrounded by huge ever-changing plot lines; normally it's like my creative dream mind detaches.

      2. The world felt magical and peaceful with such vivid and inspiring colors.

I have had only one lucid dream that actualy carried this feeling into the dream, all of my others have felt dull, boring, and slightly colorless

This was a huge step for me, because these two aspects are what I truly love about dreams! The dream I had was roughly and hour long, so I'll just jot down some of the interesting events. Basically, I was in a house trying to ground the dream and not wake up. Now here something happened that has never happened before. I started spinning, as fast as I could, a quick close of the eyes, astounded upon opening them that I really did in fact teleport! It finally worked! Not only that, but I also manipulated my environment. I would close my eyes, count to three and then point as I opened them. I don't know why I did this, but for some reason it worked! I decided to slow down from all the dreams I'm having, and think about my dream goals, I honestly think that I completed every last one. One that I'll mention, was looking in a miror. This held a lot of significance for me, because of all of the symbolism that a miror has. I heard that mirrors can be scary, so I was interested to see what my subconscious portrayed me as. As I slowly walked towards the mirror, I saw two black and white objects slowly merge into one. It was my brothers face, with a surprised look on his face, head and eyes fixed on something above me and to my left. Really an amazing experience, and I'm trying to find significance.

Like I said, I really just wanted to capture the achievements of this dream then the experience itself, which to say the least was the most successful LD I've ever had!

Edit: I just realized that this is most likely due to the fact that I was on a rem rebound cycle tonight. The day before I only got an hour of sleep. It was worth it

    6. "I found it" (mysterious valuable anchors)

      by , 11-05-1970 at 05:05 PM
Morning of November 5, 1970. Thursday.

      Dream #: 1,417-01. Optimized 2 min 15 sec read.

Using as simple a writing style as I can (using several types of readability software and dream causation maps), this entry looks at an early childhood dream. It had high but passive metacognition and autosymbolic concurrence with dream state awareness and seemed quite long despite its simple theme.

My dream’s location is an isolated river adjacent to woodlands, with a boat ramp on one bank. I remain on the side with the boat ramp in the early morning. It is most reminiscent of Lettuce Lake, a section of Peace River (in Florida), I had frequented in waking life.

Wayne, a chubby Floridian male schoolmate, is present in my dream’s final segment, though I had been in the area for some time before his arrival. The water lowers over time, revealing additional anchors.

There was a storm from the north (though my dream self does not arrive or have physicality until after it occurs). It caused several valuable anchors to wash up over the boat ramp and riverbank. Some are ancient, and some are modern. They have various designs and are made of different materials, though most are metal.

I think of collecting these anchors as a treasure, but Wayne arrives and claims they are his, inferring the “finders keepers losers weepers” cliché, even though I was in the area before him. “I found it,” he says, approaching one of the anchors I had been studying before he arrived.

Later, I am the only one at the location, but I eventually accept it is all imaginary, and I wake for the day.

From early childhood, in many dreams, there is a dream character who serves as a precursor (or catalyst) to wakefulness as my metacognitive navigation of the dream state reaches its conclusion, primarily from the varying levels of mental and physical duality that only the dream state manifests. (It does not mean the character “represents” me in any way, as it is mainly to differentiate between the fictions of dreaming, sans enigmatic space, and the stability of viable wakefulness and its genuine memory serving as an “anchor.”) I have used many names for this predictable process over the years. Perhaps the “sleep-wake monitor (or mediator)” is one of the better names, as it represents the activity of RAS (Reticular Activating System) and its supraliminal navigation that mediates sleep-wake transitions.

Water lowering over time, as I approach wakefulness, has occurred in thousands of dreams since childhood. (I do not even include the otherwise predictable process in many online entries.) This attribute correlates with acknowledging water bodies as REM sleep and has an association with ultradian rhythm. As I wake, the dynamics of sleep lower and fade. I used to view it as somewhat of a tidal analogy. Even so, I have found that moon phases in real life appear with a different phasing pattern in dreams.

Finally, the anchors are this dream’s representation of my metacognitive awareness of REM atonia. Chains also correspond with such recognition. (An anchor is also otherwise found on the end of a chain, though not in this dream.)

To clarify what this dream “means,” it corresponds with the same phasing responses as many of my dreams.

Wayne claims “I found it” as a preconscious pathway to viable conscious thinking above the imaginary dream self. This function also increases my metacognitive awareness of dreaming. It is not a factor resulting from waking life.
