    1. Oasis Master

by , 02-12-2022 at 09:30 PM (The Dream Adventures of MadMonkey)
I have been trying to get back into lucid dreaming for a while now and I think it's starting to pay off because I had a profound and long lucid dream this morning. My favorite part is that my partner was in it with me the whole time because I summoned her early on.

I should note about my dream guide Juliana that she is also my tulpa now so we communicate nearly everyday. It has been wonderful! You can read more on how that happened here https://www.dreamviews.com/beyond-dr...ml#post2245163 Another thing is her appearance has refined a bit and she's not so tall. Just average height for a woman. Just mentioning that since I saw she was 6'2 in that potion dream with her.

For the last 3 months I have been dreaming of being in the virtual reality simulation the Oasis often. It comes from Ready Player One and it probably took over my dreams after I read Ready Player Two. Sometimes I even feel the headset on my head in otherwise normal dreams now. I enjoy these dreams and this is the best one yet.

      Oasis Master (DILD)

I am in a first person shooter. Some sniper in a war torn country. I don't remember how I got lucid since the dream was long. Not long after I do I reach my right hand back and pull to the front of me my partner so they can enjoy the adventure with me! We realize quickly that I am wearing some sort of robes. The Robes of Anarok! They give superuser rights to anyone wearing them! This is going to be fun!

I teleporte us to Sector One and we find ourselves in a sureal area. The landscape is a forest but there are people everywhere wearing the most random avatars. One person is a twitch streamer doing some sort of event with a large entourage of psychedelic fans. We don't want to stay long here because it feels really quite scary but for some reason it gives me an idea. The way the simulation knows what is going to happen is coded into quests that the player characters sort of bring around with them. Maybe with some smart thinking we can speed run a quest and I know just the one to try.

I teleport us to third age Middle Earth and we find ourselves in a cave with Gandalf, Bilbo, and the Dwarves. I throw out a drone to record us and I ask Gandalf about Sauron. Gandalf begins telling the story while I begin weaving a spell with the Robes of Anarok.
I wish I could remember more of how it worked it was very detailed in my memory until moments after I woke up.

After finishing the spell Sauron is defeated and the ring destroyed. My partner and I hear a special fanfare for beating both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings quests! I see an invite to meet with the creator of the game pop up with a teleport attached.

We take the teleport and find ourselves in a mansion. There is a marble staircase above us and a balcony with a pool nearby. The creator of the game looks like, and has the same warmth as, Robin Williams. He is congratulating us on casting such a high level spell. My girlfriend is talking more as I get distracted and wander outside.

I get a second burst of lucidity and start to fly away but then I feel I don't have much time left. I fly back to my girlfriend and held her hand for the short while we have left with Robin Williams.

When I woke up and the ideas from the magic spell were still fresh I felt euphoric. The Robes gave me a confedence in my magic that I have never felt before. I will have to talk to Juliana about it. My next goal is to summon her again because though we can communicate while I'm awake she has a lot more room to be herself in dreams.

      Wasted Earth

I was inside a crypt. I was working with an expedition to discover secrets of a forgotten civilisation. I was searching for rock slabs that covered knowledge about it's past. I've found one, and took it to one of the researchers - an old man with long, grey beard and grey hair. He told me that they received an information about placement of one of the slabs, and gave me electronical device similar to PDA.

I went out of a crypt I was inside before, and looked around. The world was highly devastated. Toxic gases filled the air, I could see green clouds on the seeimngly dark brown sky. I could breathe normally though. The soil was barren, and there were only a few oasis where any vegetation could survive. I could see distortions over the horizon, and then I've received a message from researchers that I should move quick, as a huge heat wave was coming.

I had no weapon or protective suit. My only chance was to get quickly to the place where slab was seen, and get back as quickly as I can. I moved on. The air became more dry over the time, and distortions over the horizon were getting stronger.

Going through dry river valleys and entering a plateau of barren land I looked at all the skeletons scattered around. They must've died in one sudden event. Suddenly I spotted an oasis in the distance. It covered a hill and a valley. It wasn't too big area. Seeing that heat wave was getting much stronger, I ran towards it.

I got into the oasis just in time. I saw that heat wave gathered enough strenght that soil started to burn. The anomalous heat wave haven't had any effect on the oasis though. I looked at the sky. Dark brown colour transisted smoothly with red and orange.

I sat on the ground. Looking on the PDA-like device I saw that the slab is Then I heard someone cursing at the sudden heat wave. I went there, and saw a man in blue protective suit. It was reinforced, and some mechanisms were added to make it more of a protective exoskeleton. The man wasn't wearing helmet. He had dark hair and brown eyes. I started the conversation.

      - What's going on?

      - Man!? Where have you been for past few months?

      *silence*

      - Alright then. Any other questions?

      - Where did you get that protective suit?

      - Found a few kilometres away from this oasis. It belonged to a dead mercenary.

      - Who killed the mercenary?

      - You should ask what killed him. Beasts. Horrible creatures adapted to live in this hostile environment.

      - What can you tell me about those beasts?

      - Probably there are many species of them, but we know about only a few. Example of them can be sliders. They have strong exoskeleton, and razor-sharp teeth. When chasing their prey, they slide on the ground. They are dangerous alone, and if you can meet group of them - good luck. The second beast you need to know about are bone breakers. They don't attack you, and their meat seems to be edible. You must be carefull when hunting them, as they have muscular limbs, able to break femur without using their full capabillities.

      - How can they survive in the heat?

      - Sliders dig holes and hide deep in the ground. When heat waves are over they wait for a prey to walk over the hole. Bastards can feel you coming from long distance. Bone breakers live close to caves, but they also visit oasis from time to time. Deep in the cavernous lakes they are safe from heat. You must also know about more dangerous species. Two most dangerous beasts are predators and wild horns.

      - I guess predators are the most dangerous?

      - Nope. Predators are weak, and live only in upland regions, where they can find suitable for them conditions. Their only strenght is their speed and powerful limbs. They can tear your limbs apart. Wild horns are the most dangerous beast you'll ever encounter. The mercenary belonged to a group that was attacked by one wild horn. The beast's exoskeleton is stronger than any other substance found in the Wastelands. Eyelids of the beast are protected by transparent layer of this substance when eyes need protection. Bastards can survive strongest of heat waves. When they see their prey, they shoot horns out of their backs. The rain of high speed horns made of strong, sharp substance can go through any armor. This was the only armor that was in quite good state. I had to throw away the helmet, as one of the horns hit the mercenary in the head. I have a helmet in my stuff, ready to be put on when going out of the oasis. Anyway, what are you doing here?

      - I was sent to recover a slab.

      - You mean this? I took it from dead mercenaries. Why do you need it?

      - I help researchers of forgotten civilisation. I need to give it back to them.

      - And they've sent you on suicidal mission for a slab? Nevermind, take it.

I take the slab in my hand, and put it in a backpack. I ask.

      - Why did you cursed at the heat?

      - I wanted to move on, when it stopped me from getting out of this place.

      - Why do you want to leave the oasis?

      - It's too peaeful in here, people just can't live without their problems.

*I'm surprised that I could recall such amount of dialogue. All I remembered in the morning were brief moments. By trying to recall more of the dream a few times this day, I was able to recover some lost information about the dream.*
    3. Bookselling, thrones

      by , 11-24-2014 at 09:18 PM
There's a monk who needs to buy a certain rare, extremely expensive book, and he intends to raise the money by selling off a different rare book. He can't do this himself, so he sends a fox demon to take care of it. She can't read the script it's written in, but she compares the characters he wrote down for her with the characters written on the covers of his books, and she eventually finds the right one and takes it to a fair that's going on. There are many specialists here who'd give her a good price for the book, but she goes to a bookseller she recognizes, a place she's been to many times. This man doesn't know the values of things, so he gives her very little for it - it's the equivalent of buying a book for a dollar when it should be worth millions.

The monk's disappointed - not in her, but because the book's gone and he'll have to start over in terms of raising the money. The fox demon gets annoyed at him for what she perceives as insulting the bookseller - she thinks the bookseller is a very good man, since he's sold her many novels for very little money. The monk is thinking about how much he looks forward to the end of his life, except that he's concerned about how she'll survive.

      (Woke up. Back to sleep.)

I'm speaking German with a man who'd promised to (acquire or translate or something similar) a certain book, but now he's fleeing and has to go back on his part of our deal. I don't really mind.

Two paired images of people on thrones. The first is a blonde woman dressed in gold robes, surrounded by abstract shapes woven out of gold wires, on a balcony overlooking beautiful green fields, rivers, wide blue sky. She's saying, amused, that although she was meant to be associated with style and worldliness, instead "I'm merely back in the desert, healing women at an oasis."

The second, a sad and tired-looking long-haired old man, first in a dark wooden room full of cabinets and herbs, then overlooking a mountain. A pair of ravens leave him and fly up the mountain over a trail, croaking - grey stone, grey skies.

      (Woke up. Back to sleep.)

      Two fragments:

I'm trying to convince the radio to put out an important broadcast to keep people out of the (either Dallas or Houston) area, it's an emergency, but they refuse to disrupt the normal services.

A man saying to me, "You're afraid that this is the real world. It is. I trust you."

    5. 10/07/10 Oasis of Life

by , 10-09-2010 at 03:25 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: I fell asleep having plans to meet with Tigress again, to go do something different tonight. So as I fell asleep with my light / sound machine on and I slipped into a WILD… This time, I was focused enough that when the dream started I was already in the landing area of the biodome tower.

I looked around the landing area of the biodome tower. All of our ships were there, and there were a couple extra vehicles there. One was a hover bike, the other one was a robot mech… the bike was blue and the mech was green, both of them looked pretty cool. The robot mech was Tigress' and the hover bike was mine, we each went to our own vehicle. Tigress did something over there with hers, a few things seemed to change slightly before she got inside it. I got on my bike and we both launched out of the tower into space where we found a portal, which had been opened by Q so we could easily get where we needed to go.

Tigress and I emerged from the portal over a desolate place, there was a dry wind blowing over a parched landscape… it looked like the middle of a vast desert with no sign of even a cactus. Just by looking at the scene it was impossible to tell what had created the desolation, but I remembered Q saying it had been caused by a massive war that had nearly destroyed the entire planet. For a short time we flew over the desolate landscape, I did see that there were occasional ruins that looked like they might have once been buildings of some kind, though it was hard to tell what they had once been. For the most part the only thing that was there to be seen was wastelands extending into the distance.

After we had flown for a while I finally saw something up ahead, as we got closer to the place I could tell it was a small area of green in the middle of the desolate wasteland. We got closer and saw there were some simple buildings there and some densely packed trees as well. The small oasis was partially sheltered from the dry winds and dust storms by a small mountain, although it wasn't completely protected. We got closer and I saw the larger trees were being used to shelter and protect smaller trees as they were getting started. There was an irrigation system coming out of the mountain where apparently they had been able to find a water source to help support their little community. I wanted to get a closer look at the place, so Tigress and I flew in towards the oasis.

It was then that I saw a cloud of dust approaching the oasis from another direction, and I realized I had been completely forgetting about the attack Q had warned us about. Raiders were attacking the city, trying to take some valuable power cells from them to use for their own needs instead of wasting it on restoring life to the planet. Apparently they were either too short sighted or just too stupid to realize that once all of the energy cells ran out they would be shit out of luck. So instead of heading directly towards the oasis, Tigress and I diverted our path to intercept the raiders cloud of dust. They weren't even trying to go unnoticed, they clearly were completely confident they had the upper hand over anything that could defend the oasis. They were wrong.

When we intercepted the raiders, they didn't even bother trying to communicate, they just attacked on sight, though I heard some of them saying the restorationists must have more energy cells hidden away than anyone had realized if they were able to send actual mechs out to meet them. Others said there were only two mechs, though, so it's not like they had been able to mount a serious defense. A few of the raider mechs, which only amounted to some hover craft that couldn't fly very high and a bunch of motorcycles that were equipped with weapons, broke away from the group to intercept us. Apparently they thought that would be enough, there were only four of the hover craft breaking away from the group. One of the raiders on the craft intercepting us called to the others to capture as many restorationists as possible, keeping as many of them alive as possible… they needed an extra food source, and the meat would keep better if the cattle was still alive. The four attacked Tigress and me while the others tried to continue to the oasis.

They soon found out that leaving such a few of them to fight us wasn't a good plan when we blasted through the four of them before they even got a shot off, then we flew up and cut off the rest of the group. Now that they realized they would not get rid of us so easily, a battle broke out right there and they had apparently decided they needed to deal with us first before heading to the oasis. Since my hover bike was able to fly and theirs only hover while some of them were even ground vehicles, I was flying circles around them and blasting them from every direction. I could see Tigress wasn't even bothering to avoid their attacks, which were doing absolutely nothing to her mech, and she was blasting many of them, too, as well as crushing some of them beneath her feet. While there were a lot of raiders, none of them were particularly powerful. Just because I wanted to do it, I transformed my mech into robot mode and continued blasting the enemies. I saw Tigress' had shifted into the shape of a wolf and she was tearing enemies apart with razor sharp metal fangs, blasting them with eye lasers, and firing missiles from the claws. Cool transformation!

The battle continued for a short time longer, but soon there were no raiders left at all, we had gotten even the few who had tried to escape, I had the idea if they got back to their base they would return with more. We landed near the oasis and got out to look around the place. The people at the oasis were clearly grateful with us for stopping the raiders, but they also seemed a bit wary of strangers. We looked around their oasis for a while, and it turned out they had taken many different kinds of plants and animals into a mountain shelter, which was also where they were getting the water from, to protect the biodiversity of the planet when it was hit with what they knew would be a devastating attack. But even they had been underestimating the total damage it would do, they had not thought they would have to start over planting the very first tree and nursing it to growing just a little so it could take root in the hostile environment…

I wandered around the oasis for a while, looking at the trees and grass which looked like it was all taking root very well especially considering the conditions. The irrigation system was a series of small canals branching off in different directions to access the entire oasis, there were some small animals drinking from it as it poured out of the ends of the canals at the roots of the larger trees. It really was beautiful, but it could use some help… I took out my ocarina and started playing a nice tune, as I was playing the music, the plants seemed to perk up and grow, I could see them visibly growing and getting greener. Around the edge of the oasis I could see the green area expanding out into the desert, grasses were sprouting out of the parched ground, saplings began growing into small trees, a spring bubbled up from the dry ground and quickly filled in a small depression in the desert to make a small pond, plants grew on the bottom of the pond and around the pond… more trees sprouted as well… Some of the people from the oasis had followed me out there, and they were clearly amazed at the effect of the music. I soon felt like I was going to wake up, so I told the people that what I had done should help them get things started… and maybe I would be back to do more. They seemed rather speechless… they were still staring at me when I woke.
