      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I had the longest, most stable lucid ever this morning, and had great control! Only problem is... can't remember the most of it! I had a great time though.

      I was running along a suburban street in the rain, at night. I was playing some sort of game, possibly hide and seek. I was hiding in a giant green bin for a bit, but then I thought, "Who cares if anyone sees me! With that in mind I ripped off all my clothes (who knows why) and jumped proudly out of the bin. I took a running leap and it was as if gravity had been cancelled out. I flew straight and streadily up the street and landed comfortably on the roof of a house. I could see no-one around, so I went inside, via a small window in the conservatory. I had to slide in like a snake through the gap, and I knocked over lots of ornaments and a lamp.

      A while later, I remembered an old "lucid task of the month" I had never attempted, which was to "somersault in the air". I stepped up on the arm of the big brown settee and did a flip. I nearly got it! I landed on the top of my ass, where the tailbone is. There was no pain, just a thud. I lay there and laughed.

      I think I became non-lucid for a while, because I remember trying to type something on this laptop and not being able to work out why nothing would work. I'm a pretty speedy typist normally and it was frustrating me to no end. Somebody was sitting beside me, and was greatly amused at my situation. Then I realised, "What if I'm dreaming and that's why I can't type!" I was quite amazed at the fact I was dreaming, and said out loud, "Sweet, round two!" Then I ripped my clothes off again. Don't ask me why, something about the freedom of no rules! I strolled confidently downstairs (I was in my bedroom) and out the front door.

      I had a false awakening which I caught. Unlike last time, I was able to heave myself out of bed. Good times.

      Some missing time here, during which I'm sure something awesome and interesting happened, but I can't remember. I do remember, however, trying to convince myself that I would remember all this when I woke up. That's what leads me to believe some significant shit happened. One thing I remember doing after this is flying hella fast. I crouched in something like the sprint starting position and kicked off. I flew up and forward like a rocket, at an angle of 40 degrees. It was unbelievably fast, and soon I passed through some thick, wet clouds.

      Unfortunately, not much else I recall!

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      So far in my lucidity-chasing, all my dreams have been quite light-hearted affairs, and I haven't had a nightmare in about four years. This one was different. I was actually trapped in a scary situation, with the full knowledge that I was dreaming, wanting to wake up.

      A bit of background. I'm hungover to the max today. Last night's binge would account for the tiredness and massive REM rebound I got as soon as I went to sleep in the evening. I was also maybe not in the most positive frame of mind, which could have been a factor in all this.

      I was sitting on a farm talking to my brothers. I saw smoke rising in the distance. After a while I could see flames. The fire was getting very high, and soon after, fire engines pulled up near me. I noticed one of the firefighters was my friend's dad, who I haven't seen for years. My mum pulled up, driving a minivan, packed with people I knew. She said everybody was going to visit somebody who lived near where the inferno was, to make sure she was ok. I got in too, and we drove off. The car was packed out with people, and it was a bit of a tight squeeze, but there were enough seats.

      Instead of driving towards the fire, which was up the hill a bit, we drove downhill, and ended up at a beach. My mum tried to drive up a sand dune unsuccessfully. Next thing I knew, I was out of the car, standing in the middle of the beach. The sun was setting, and the waves were quite high, but very far away. There was a vast expanse of flat beach between me and the water. I turned round to walk up the beach, but out of the corner of my eye I saw movement. A single wave, about 2 feet high was sweeping silently (and very quickly) up the beach towards me. I tried to outrun it, but it got me. It soaked my phone in my pocket.
      I recognised the dream sign, and became lucid. I marvelled at how real my cold and wet clothes felt now that the water had receeded. I then had the desire to get off the beach. There was something eerie about standing alone in the middle of such an enormous wide open space in semi-darkness. I'm not agoraphobic in real life, but something wasn't quite right here. I tried to run up to the top of the beach, but I realised I was running but not actually getting anywhere. This was a bit scary, and I just wanted to wake up.

      Then I had a false awakening. I was in my bed, and actually thought I had woken up. I was like, "Thank god that's over!" I looked down at my left hand and saw that it was glowing a purply-pink colour. "Shit," I thought. I got out of bed and wandered around to see where I was. I was in what looked like a big hotel room. Except there were no doors or windows, and the walls and floor were made of wood. There wasn't much light, but I could see black square panels around the room. I got a bit closer, and saw that they were holographic pictures. As in, if you moved, the picture changed. What was on them was pictures of my friends' heads. Their heads weren't quite solid, they were grey on a black background. As I moved across the room, they appeared to be shouting something at me quite desperately. I really didn't like this scenario at all. I went to look in a mirror out of curiosity. I was wearing my dressing gown in the mirror, and my hair was a lot shorter than it is now.

      I then had another false awakening. I looked at my hand, which had an indeterminate number of fingers. I was getting a bit worried now. I got out of bed and walked out into the room. There was some sort of gameshow going on in the middle. I didn't want to take part, but the host forced me to.

      Then I had ANOTHER false awakening. I was really relieved because I thought it was for real this time. I looked at my hand, and it didn't even look like a hand. This time, when I realised I was still dreaming, the music from The Twilight Zone played.

      Listen to this shit...

      This freaked me right out, and I started shouting things like "Wake up!" and just screaming in general. No such luck.

      Yet another FA. This time I was in my own room, trapped in my bed and unable to move. I could hear my mum outside the door. I yelled, "Wake me up! Get in here and wake me up!" She never did come in, and the Twilight Zone music played again.

      Another one. I was back in the windowless hotel room. There were two guys doing some measuring. I said, "Fuck this, I'm not playing the game any more," and decided to kill myself. Handily enough, a noose was hanging from the celing. I stood on a desk and put it round my neck.
      Yep, it's getting a bit heavy! As soon as I jumped off, the scene went into reverse. Everything literally rewound around me, and there was even a "rewinding" indicator at the bottom of my view.

      I had, maybe 15 false awakenings, and each time my hand was different. The Twilight Zone music played every time I looked at it. One time it was fat, then the hand of an old man, flashing psychadelically, missing altogether... the list goes on. One time it looked normal until I realised I was actually missing a finger. There was a stump. I nearly shat myself at the music that time. I became increasingly desperate, and even tried holding my breath, in case that meant I was actually holding my breath in real life, and I might wake myself up by nearly suffocating. It didn't work.

      Eventually, of course, I did wake up, only 2 or 3 hours after I went to bed. I very reluctantly checked my hand and it was fine. I ran straight out of my room and downstairs. I'm totally exhausted now, and maybe a bit afraid to go back to sleep! Also, still enormously hung over and it's killing me. I really hope I never have a repeat of that episode. Like being stuck in the matrix and not being able to find a fucking phone!

      EDIT: Had about 5 DILDs after that last night but each one of them caused a knee-jerk reaction of waking up instantly!

      Nowhere Man (WBTB)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I was still sleepy after the last WILD, so I went back to bed with the intention of actually sleeping, you know, for energy and such... lol

      I got into another LD without much waiting about this time. I was in the upstairs of what looked like a cross between an office building and university halls of residence. I went into the living room, where there were two pink setees, a neon green rug, and an old-fashioned TV. On one of the settees was a girl I know (fit). There was a woman on her left (who might have been Cheryl Cole!) and a guy on her right, but I ignored them and we got it on.

      I have a little bit of missing time, but later on, I was wandering the corridors with the music of "Nowhere Man" by the Beatles playing at an ambient volume. I lay down in the middle of the floor and tried to go to sleep. I'm not sure why I did this, but I was definately still lucid. I know because I wondered what would happen if somebody found me lying here the next morning, but I remembered that was impossible.

      I then had a false awakening in a bed in the same building. When I woke up I honestly believed I had been sleeping there, but a cynical part of me thought "Bollocks, no way..." I did a reality check and sure enough, lots of fingers. I got up to find that everybody was out of their rooms and standing in the hall outside mine. I went out and saw they were all eating chocolate fingers. I grabbed a couple and munched away.

      After this, the dream got very, very unstable, and I spent several minutes going in and out, and trying to integrate myself into different places. I eventually either woke up or fell into a non-lucid.

      False Awakenings (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      I tried to WILD in the morning- probably too late though, it was at the time I usually get up at.

      1)
      False awakening in my own bed. I thought "God sake, it must be these earphones I've got in, keeping me awake." They were playing "Hey Jude" very loudly. I was reluctant to take them out and turn off the player because it would mean moving. I decided I had to in the end, because it would just go on to the next song. I couldn't figure out how to turn the device off. It was my brother's. I probably should have questioned this a bit more and become lucid, but no such luck.

      2) False awakening in my own bed. There was commotion downstairs, as if one of my brothers had just come home from school. I drowsily got up and went down to investigate. My brother said he had been to some sort of presentation in a science museum about the solar system and other planets. He said that Princes William and Harry had been there, so it must have been a big deal. He showed me a model of a planet he had made while there. It was on orange superglued onto a slightly larger orange, but so tightly they loooked almost like one sphere. There was a little bit of missing time, and the next thing I remember was walking up to the off-license to buy some kind of drink. I then realised I didn't have my ID or money with me, but kept walking while I thought about what to do. In real life I would have immediately turned round and gone back to my house to get what I needed, and I should have questioned the fact that I pointlessly walked on for ages here.

      The FACE (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      This was the creepy result of a false awakening and the position of a certain painting in my room.
      There is a painting of a cow on the wall opposite my bed, so I can see it when I lie on my back. This invaded my dreams.

      I had a false awakening in my own bed, and I looked at the wall opposite me. I saw that the painting on my wall was not a cow as I had always imagined, but a face in disguise. When I looked at the painting when I woke up, in semi-darkness, I could see where it might me mistaken for a scary face. In the light it's just a cow, and I can no longer make out a face other than the cow's. The face had come halfway out of the painting- its nose was about 3 inches from the canvas. It looked a bit like this, only scowling more.




      Even worse, it was alive. I was lying in bed and it started insulting me, telling me it had been watching me ever since the painting had been put there (over a year). It then proceeded to list off all my worst fears and telling me they were true, and laughing at me. It had a posh but gravelly English accent and a wheezy laugh/cackle.

      It was truly hideous. I decided enough was enough, I'm going to burn it. I knew there was a fire in the fireplace downstairs at the minute and I planned to stuff the painting in it. To shut him up I wrapped a brown towel round the whole painting and held his face to my chest. I was kind of worried about him biting me.

      Then I had another false awakening! This time the painting was actually of the pokemon Venonat.

    6. Couple of Frags

      I was in my bedroom and had what I think was an FA. I woke up and started to clean a bunch of bugs that had all congregated on my window. I grabbed a sock out of my droor and started brushing them off, hoping none would land on me or my bed. (my bed is directly inderneath my window)

      I was in my living room watching T.V. even though it was off. There wasn't any picture showing, just a black screen. My sister was sitting on the floor to my side and started throwing Legos at me. I grabbed them and threw them back. This went back and forth for a little while until I woke up.

      Dream starts off in a warehouse where I have just woken up (false awakening). I go onto my computer to post my dream journal for the morning, only the computer does not work for some reason. There are people inside the warehouse, some of them had something to do with paintball, don't necessarily remember what. I decide to go outside and take a shower, so I proceed outside to this movable structure and shower. We all leave the warehouse down towards a 7-11 when it starts to snow in the parking lot. Big drainage hole. I grab my back that was at 7-11 and proceed backup towards the warehouse. An old lady starts yelling at me for no reason.

      This was false awakening. I 'woke' up and saw there are 2 bananas left on table, but I was sure I ate all of them last night (I should have done reality check.. ).Then I started my PC and downloaded some stuff.

    9. Trapped in my own House

      This was just.... sad.

      The dream began in my bedroom. The lights were all off, and it was clearly dark outside, but there was a slight level of visibility aided by a blueish nighttime glow. Because of this, colors weren't easily discernible but I could tell my bed and side table were white. My steel blue alarm clock with glowing red numbers was sitting on my side table, facing my bed.

      I was sitting on my bed, minding my own business but with a bit more awareness than usual, and then my eyes caught my alarm clock. I only had to look once to know I was dreaming. It said the following...


      I became lucid after double-checking with the nose-plug reality check. After all, the missing part of the last number could have been a technical error on the clock's behalf. I got up and the lighting suddenly became a bit brighter. I looked at my hands while at the same time focusing on the scenery, so I could stabilize the dream a bit more. I then walked through my bedroom door and into the hallway, down the hallway and towards the front door. I usually exit the house like this, even though I could just go through my bedroom door and expect anything to be on the other side. But the door was open so I didn't think about this.

      The whole house's lights were off, but with the same slight glow. I grabbed the doorknob and tried to open it. It didn't move at all, or even turn.
      I tried a few times but nothing I did made it open. I was now getting an eerie premonition from the area around me, and I had a gut feeling that the dream was going to turn into a nightmare. I closed my eyes and fell backwards to get out, because I'd never felt as freaked out as I did now.


      I was back in my bed, awake this time.

      I did a WBTB so I'd have a chance of having another lucid. I opened my bedroom door, walked to the kitchen and got a glass of water, and came back into my room. By the time I settled back into bed, around five minutes later, I heard buzzing. I immediately leapt to my feet, did a quick reality check, and realized there was a freaking mosquito in my bedroom.

      It took forty minutes to kill the thing.
      I didn't have any other dreams once I got back into bed.

    10. *possible trigger for abuse*

      This is the first of two dreams that I remember from last night. The first was lucid and the second was not. I forgot the second while writing down the second. (Woke up to Caramelldansen stuck in my head. lol)

      Here's a bit of a back story. I have four younger siblings who live with just my mother at the moment. I'm away at college and haven't been back for a bit over a year now. My siblings and I have been abused since before I can remember by my mother and her boyfriend. (He got kicked out. He's never abused her, and I think he did recently. He's done a lot, and I think that's the only thing that would make my mother kick him out.)

      The dream took place mostly in hallways. My sister (who is the second oldest still living with my mother) was getting hit. Then, my mother put this yellow mesh dress over her clothes. (I have no idea why, because it doesn't relate to the dream otherwise.) I kept going out and coming back in. Every time I went out, I tried to get other people to help, but I couldn't talk. Then, I was sitting on this really big, hard-wood, sturdily built table. (In real life, I don't think I could get it to move an inch by myself.) I got in trouble for sitting on it. My mother was yelling at me and about to hit me. (There was no sound at all during the entire dream for some reason.) I got my sister to stand behind me, and I picked up the table to use as a shield. Someone was walking by, and I managed to yell for help after a few tries. I realized it was a dream somewhere around the time I was lifting the table easily and when I could speak. I was able to speak and hear sound for the first time when I realized I was dreaming.

      Went to bed somewhere around 6:00 am, slept from about 1AM-3:30AM before.

      Woke up in my bed, thought I was awake, for some reason chose not to get out of bed at this time. It was dark outside (which should have triggered something as it was just beginning to show brightness when I fell asleep) Tried to open my eyes, was a mess of shifting comic strips (???), faces, dark purple, static. Closed them.

      Could move my lips a little, but not much. Got out of bed, as I was scared, went to mom's room, told her that something was wrong. She told me all would be ok, I laid down with her, still did not open eyes. I remember being able to see the entire room but remember thinking about my eyes. Not sure if the weird visuals were in here or not. Mom left the room strangely, I wondered why, something about "early for work" idk All of a sudden, remembered the "check" thing you do in dreams. Looked at the clock, it kept shifting randomly. My mom noticed my gaze and asked if I was alright. Looked at my reflection, the mirror (which was where the TV should be, oddly) looked like it had cuts or something in it, distorted my reflection.

      REALIZED I WAS IN A DREAM

      Thought this was cool, imagined Angelina Jolie, didn't work at first, but thought of her and she started to appear and a weird white outline of her (I think it was her) started to walk toward me. Mom walks in and disrupts the appearance, I run in her bathroom for some reason and start to imagine Hayden Panetierre. Didn't work too well, I think.

      Next thing I know, I'm fighting Godzilla to retrieve something (don't remember, but I did tell my mom about needing this), and I rip apart his hide. I had a strange thought that I wanted to eat it, but I plopped it down with the rest of his body, brown blood I believe. Next thing I know, I'm awake.

      Not sure if mom woke me up or not, she was just in here talking to me, but I think I woke up on my own. The beginning of the dream was very scary. I really can't describe what it looked like when I tried to open my eyes, but it was just maddening. Hard to talk until I walked in my mom's room. Got cool after I realized I was in a dream. I'm sure there is more detail about this, but this is all I can remember (it has been about 5-7 minutes since I woke up, I think). My first true lucid dream that I can remember vividly, an amazing experience.

      Was on Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) before I went to bed. Maybe the Lucid has something to do with all this. Was updating Rhythmbox before I closed the laptop lid (I believe it was on an 808 State song "E Talk", it reminded me of Soulwax's "E Talking") Parents were up when I was going to sleep, Dad was just leaving I believe. My dog was making that weird noise when she sleeps again. I tried at one point to get myself out of the dream, was definitely before Angelina started to show up. Did I know that this was a dream before the clock test?? Dunno. I remember my penis being hard when I went into my mom's room, I was worried that she'd say something about it.

      There's that familiar transition.

      I open my eyes. Cold white light is streaming in from my bedroom window, as the thin brown curtains fail to do their job. Lifting myself out of bed, I notice something odd on the ceiling. The shadows on the dirty eggshell-colored drywall. . . They're moving! At that revelation, the shadows--an Aztec-esque shaman and a blocky curled snaked--broke themselves off from the wall, joined together into one formless mass, and shot out into the hallway.

      Weird.

      Making my way through the house, toward the front door, I wonder what that was all about. Closing my hand around the gold painted doorknob, I open the large metal door before me, revealing my sun-soaked court. But something is off with the lighting. Everything seems. . . lifeless. It's as if all warmth had left my neighborhood long ago. I didn't know what to make of it.

      Lifting myself off the ground, I fly to the center of my court, contemplating what I want to accomplish. With no goals lined up, I figure I'll just try to crash someone's dream world. That's when I hear it. A visceral scream tears through my court, originating from a neighbor's house across the ways. Turning my head, I look just in time to see the woman who had screamed smash against her front window. As she drops out of sight, I know behind that blood drenched glass lurks the Monster from before.

      Reaching out with my TK, I try to pull it from the house, but I can't get a lock. Yet, despite my failure, the Shadow Monster doesn't take long to exit the house of its own accord. Smoothly flowing through the air above me, it pay me no mind as it makes its way back toward my residence. Like hell I'm letting that slide. Let's see how this thing likes a little bit of pure energy blasted through its core.

      Taking a stance, I position my hands by my side, preparing to let loose a Kamehameha Wave. Not wanting to tip it off, I say the chant internally, feeling the charge building between my hands. Unfortunately, when I go to release it all in a throat wrenching shout, nothing happens. The Shadow Monster stops dead in its tracks, and speedily reverses direction, darting straight at me. Fully enveloping me in darkness, I realize there's nothing I can do to this. . . thing. Panic washes over me, but before everything fades to black I let loose a piercing cry for assistance that echoes not just through my city, but around the world and, I can't help but think, beyond.

      No one came to my aid.

    13. False Awakening

      Sitting on the bedroom floor, I grasped the control pad firmly in my hand, engrossed in the game I was playing. Nevertheless, a friend and my sister interupted me by walking in front of the TV and requesting that we'd watch a DVD. Hiding my annoyance, I shifted into a more comfortable position.
      "You'll have to watch it in the living room then, I'm using this TV." Came my noncomittal reply.

      Plucking the DVD out of the cabinet on which the TV sat, my friend and sister left the room leaving me to play the game in peace.


      Waking up in my bed, the wall I stared at looked practically normal, only the slight distorting blur giving the fact that I was still dreaming away. From prior experience and by reading up on the matter, I knew that being able to control myself while in a false awakening was difficult. But in spite of this, I decided to try and get up. I closed my eyes and tried to focus on staying in the dream and when I was certain I was ready, rolled out of my bed and landed, crouched on the floor.

      I sat still to make sure I wouldn't lose control by acting too hastily. Gingerly, standing up, I concentrated on trying to fly, and slowly but surely, I began to steadily float upwards. Unfortunately my excitement at this was cut short, abruptly by the top bunk of the bunk bed which had hindered my path upwards. I was lodged underneath the top bunk and had immediately lost control.

      Upon waking from a dream I no longer remember, I opened my eyes a crack and peered out into the darkness.
      I didn't focus much on my surroundings to begin with, however, after a closer inspection (my vision becoming clearer in spite of my eyes remaining half-lidded) I came to the realisation that I was in fact lying in my bed in the living room; right where the chair was supposed to be. The vision in my left eye was hindered due to the obtrusive pillow, my gaze sweeped across the dark expanse of the room before coming to the conclusion that I was still dreaming.


      I attempted to regulate my breathing into a steady rhythm and opened my eyes wider-- still, my left eye was half covered in darkness due to the pllow which my head had sunk into -- On my right eye was what seemed like a scattering of white dust which obstructed my view further.

      I lifted my head -- which felt incredibly heavy -- from the pillow, but in spite of my efforts I couldn't control myself very well and fell limply back onto the pillow.

      Curiosity then spiked and since that getting up was now off the agenda, I was curious as to see what my hand would look like. Would it have more fingers as it usually did when I did a reality check? Be a little blurry? Raising my arm, which experienced the same heavy feeling as my head, I raised my hand into a clearing in my vision between the walls of black and white. To my surprise, I merely gazed at a stump; cut off at the wrist abruptly, my hand was simply none existant.

      I stood at the entrance of the house -- the hallway enveloped in darkness -- and two figures emerged from within its dark depths; my sister and following close by was one of my good college friends.

      Apparently, he'd slept over for the weekend and now the time had arrived for his departure. I feel a pang of guilt wash over me. I find myself wishing we ould have done more to make his stay more enjoyable. (Albiet I didn't seem to recall what was done during his stay.)

      Turning on my heels, my vision swept passed the doorway of my dad's bedroom -- someone was inside.
      Her back was facing me but she was clad in silk, pale pink pyjamas and a house coat that looked rather like a small kimono. Her long, wavy black hair was gathered into a tight pony tail which trailed, incredibly, right down to the top of her thighs.

      I fleetingly wonder who she was.

      One of my sister's friends I'd decided.

      "Don't forget your fan!" I hear my sister's voice from behind me. Following that, the mysterious girl produced a pink fan and packed it into a bag.

      My sister then grabbed a bag from somewhere and filled it with clothing of which included a red T-shirt and a brown one. Then, with her free hand grasped a nearby suitcase and we started out the door, first walking to our neighbour who lived directly opposite.
      "Could you look after this, please?" she inquired to the man who now stood at the door.

      He accepted the suitcase without hesitation and promptly we headed down the stairs. It appeared that I was now carrying the bag with the T-shirts inside, another random white T-shirt hooked in my right hand which flopped around lazily with my movements.

      Continuing the journey down, the stairs began to undergo metamophosis; taking on the appearance of hard, cold stone stairs which led up to a huge archway from which white light flooded through.
      This light was of stark contrast to the sullen darkness of the room. And this time, by myself, I walked up the stairs.

      I heard a jumble of voices -- male ones -- ricocheting across the barren area.
      "It's a shame when people you're looking for aren't there..."
      "Yeah, it is."

      I was very nearly at the top. I began up the last flight of steps before I realised I had dropped the bag I was carrying, which was now hanging loosely on a long plank of wood that was propped up against the side of the banister. And looking up again, I saw a frightened man, pale with fear and pleading looks painted across his features, slowly crawling his way up on his hands and knees towards the light.

      during the dream which a remember little of since it was 2 days ago, I looked outside a window to see snow and a few toys, one of them was an old light 3 game. I ran to my room started to question reality and the dream faded and I could feel my eyes still moving even though I was awake. I tried to make a new dream area but that did not work I then thought of a video loader icon and the area came out of that. I thought I was in my room as I walked out I saw a misplaced office chair (it was dark btw) walked down the hall to my brothers room and woke up.
