    1. How i came to find out that i had lucid dreams

      by , 03-28-2011 at 03:05 AM
I didnt always know that I had wild lucid dreams. In fact, when I found out i had all four symptoms and that it was a rarity to have all the symptoms and that people have been trying to have wild dreams for years, it was a complete shocker. For me, that was always normal. I went to bed and entered my own little world...literally. I'm not sure if this is ever discussed, but i have created an entire elaborate world where every night is like an episode in a tv show. I can control the entire world. I have been having this same "genre" of a dream for the last oh like 3 years. I got bored with the other world I had created before that.....
I can not go into the entire world of my dreams, because that would be like opening and entire personal side of me. But here's what i can say. When I go to bed, I'm still me. My brain is still wide awake. There is no difference. I have often referred to myself as a light sleeper because I am still aware of what is happening around me even when I'm asleep. As I get border with my dreams, I have to make them more interesting. The more interesting I create my dream, the quicker I fall asleep. If I'm bored, I have to sit there and think (while dreaming) of a plot for the next 8 hours of sleep I'm going to get.
I found out i had lucid dreams when I asked my friend what she dreamed about every night It took us an hour to sort out the difference between her dreams and mine. I gotta admit, I felt special. The only thing is, my dreams are a utopia. I get distracted because I want so badly to escape to my dreams sometimes and get out of the real world. I can skip homework to go to sleep. Its pretty distracting.
So I guess in the end, I wouldn't know how to help you have wild things. I think it has to be natural. But if you want to ask me about my dreams or "worlds" or specific questions you have about wild dreams, email me at [email protected]. Ill answer to the best of my ability.

    4. Short Lucid dream #2, and the awesome park dragon/giant slide thing.

      by , 03-28-2011 at 01:02 AM
I'm in the dream and I'm with my brothers in my house when I suddenly realize this is a dream. I turn around and say to my brothers "This is a dream" they ignore me and continue walking. I go outside my house and look to my left and there is this cave/statue thing. I think about if something scary came out of the cave, suddenly this thing (I forget what it was, could have been a person) walked out of the cave, turned and started walking towards me.
Suddenly I hear this loud, and frightening noise that sounded like static, right when I heard it I woke up.
      Lucid dream, 30 - 40 seconds long.

I barely remember anything about the park dream, only I remember these giant rides/downhill things that I think I remember them being shaped like a dragon. Each one was bigger then the last. And I lost one of my dogs. (I know not a lot to go off of, and sounds crazy but It was epic)

    5. Attain Sleep Paralysis and Lucid Dreaming within about 20 minutes!

      by , 03-28-2011 at 01:00 AM
Last night I discovered an easy way to attain lucidity and sleep paralysis fast. Now this may sound silly, but lay on the ground on the side of your bed on your back with your arms on your side. After about 10-15 minutes, your body will become so uncomfortable that it almost urges you to get back on your bed, when it is so unpleasent that you can't stand it anymore, get back on your bed. The body will be so relieved that it will grab the chance to fall into a deep sleep in about 5 minutes. After you fall asleep you will start the LDing.

METHOD 2. Lay on your bed on your back with your arms on your side. DO NOT go to sleep, remain conciousness. After a while your mind will question "Is the body ready to go to sleep?" to confirm that the body is still awake, it will urge you to roll over to another position. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU IGNORE THE URGE. The urge becomes excrutiatingly painful, IGNORE THE URGE! After about 5-20 seconds of pain, your mind will confirm that the body is asleep, and enter sleep paralysis. When awake and experiencing sleep paralysis, it can be scary. It will feel like you can not breathe. If you do not want to continue, change your breathing pattern into deep, long breaths. The mind will notice that the body is awake and it will wake up altogether, If you would like to continue in sleep paralysis, just sit there for about 5-10 seconds. The body will enter the Lucid Dreaming state. I hope I helped, and happy LDing.

    6. An Update

      by , 03-28-2011 at 12:41 AM
I haven't been able to post much recently because my dream recall seems to have just disappeared. I think there's two main reasons for this; firstly I'm under a lot of stress and secondly now that it's getting warmer I'm waking up earlier and going for runs etc, which means I miss the larger chunk of my REM cycle.

I'm really hoping my recall will come back soon!

    7. March 27 2011

by , 03-28-2011 at 12:39 AM (Mah Journal)
I was sitting in art class. It was rather dark in the room. I think we were presenting projects or something. I think I was sitting with JO and NI, and we seemed to be looking at some sort of table-top projector, sort of like in those sci-fi movies.

I think I woke up after this, but I had the intention of LDing. I slowly faded into sleep again.

It was odd. For the longest time I was caught in between, unsure if I was actually going to be successful. It was odd, because I was seeing darkness, and I tried to walk; I could feel my dream body flailing and moving, but yet at the same time I felt my real body. It was odd, trying to control the two at the same time, making sure my real body didn't move, but trying not to let go of the control of my dream body.

I eventually got my eyes open. Then I knew I could probably jump into the dream state.

I was wondering around some city at first. I wasn't totally in control of how the story went, but I knew I was dreaming. I think I was looking for someone or something, or maybe someone was after me.

There was a sturdy rectangular building made of concrete. It was pale yellow with green trim. I decided I should hide in there, so I went up to it and tried to break the glass. Even though I knew it was a dream, I was scared that the glass was going to hurt me. I punched it a few times and felt it wobble under my hand, and eventually hit it a bit harder. It shattered and I jumped in without harm.

Somehow i ended up in some apartment in the building. I was sitting on a couch and watching TV with a bunch of people from school. JO was beside me. I wanted to cuddle with him, and I turned to look at him. He put his head on my shoulder. I hugged him and nuzzled his hair.

Eventually I ended up in some large store, seemed like a mix between Home Depot and Wal-Mart, but there was a large candy dispensing area too. KR and KE were there. I think we were going to get some candy, and I was thinking about getting some blue gummies. It ended there.

    8. SWILD ( Swish Pattern Induced Lucid Dreaming )

      by , 03-28-2011 at 12:10 AM
Greetings. For the past few days i had been googling for different ways and methods for inducing lucid dreams. While i was at it, i came across a few articles about NLP and how it is used to modify behavior. Also i stumbled upon two subliminal videos created by Pete Casale (world of lucid dreaming website) in which NLP patterns (Swish, Anchoring and framing) are used to induce lucid dream. Although i had known NLP for some time now, i never knew that nlp techniques could be used to induce lucid dream. After watching the videos, i thought of making a new (perhaps) technique using the nlp patterns from the video, to be included in the DV tutorials. And i came up with SPILD (Swish Pattern Induced Lucid Dream). For those who know nlp, the swish pattern (nlp technique) is a simple and well known yet very powerful submodality technique for taking minor problem behaviours or states and replacing them with more useful behaviours or states. Basically it is used to change habits and/or install automatic responses. Below i outline the way for inducing lucid dream using the Swish pattern.

SPILD ( Swish Pattern Induced Lucid Dream )

Swish patterns are usually done in a visual representation system (i.e using mental images or pictures) although they can be performed in any representational system. If are a primarily visual person, you can choose to do a visual swish. For this you need two pictures:-

      1. The first picture represents the present state and must be associated i.e. the picture must be as it would appear seen through your own eyes - this is VERY important.

In the associated picture see yourself being cozy in bed and dosing off into
dreamland. Here, create the feeling of total physical and mental relaxation and
see yourself having the non lucid dreams.

      2. The second picture represents the desired state and must be dissociated i.e.
See yourself in the picture, as if you are another person seeing yourself from a
      different angle.

In the dissociated picture see your self in a dream becoming self aware, doing
some reality tests and finally becoming lucid.

As the swish pattern is a fast technique it is useful to take a few moments to make the two pictures as real as possible by tweaking the submodalities of each until they were just right. This way you can access the pictures quickly and easily when you come to do the swish.

Once you have the two pictures ready it is time to swish using the following steps:-

      1. Access the first picture - the associated picture of the present state.

      2. Imagine that the picture is on a rubber sheet. Suddenly the rubber sheet is
grabbed from behind and the picture is crumpled down to a tiny dot. Then the
rubber sheet is pulled rapidly backwards so that the picture is
drawn off into the distance with it.

      3. Imagine the tension in the rubber as it is pulled rapidly backwards, further and
further, until S-W-I-S-H the rubber snaps back into place and is now showing the
second picture - the dissociated, desired state.

      4. Clear the screen, empty your mind of the swish pattern you just did and think of anything. Again, this step is of importance.

      5. Run the process again from step one to step 4, repeating the process seven times. It's important that you do this process as quickly as you can - you should need only a very few seconds to do each repetition.

Once you've done the swish seven times you should find that if you can think of the old picture it is immediately and automatically replaced by the new picture - the swish has become an automated process inbuilt in your neurology. If the swish doesn't become automatic after the first seven repetitions, do another seven repetitions and test again. Swish patterns usually become fully automated after 3, 7 or 21 repetitions.

The idea is to associate the act of being asleep and dreaming (non-lucid dreams) with being critically aware, so that next time you fall asleep and dream, you will have awareness show up in your dreams.

      I am semi-lucid.

I am sitting at my computer. It's on fire. Everything is on fire. I am not afraid at this point, but I could be.

The fire stays within the tower.

I was sitting on my sofa, when my oldest brother enters the room and starts to annoying me. He's talking a mile a minute saying nonsence getting in my face.
I shake my head at him get up and while walking to my room I tell him to leave me alone. As I lay on my floor he comes barging in and starts jumping around.
I now start screaming at him to leave me alone, but he just jumps on me and starts to tickle me non stop. I continue yelling at him "You are so annoying" and "*Beep* Off !!"
but relentlessly he continues to tickle me. I attempted to hit him, but my punches are useless almost like swinging in slow motion. I Got so angry yelling and screaming I woke up. While in my bed awake I laughed so hard because it was such a silly dream, but then I thought I definitly have some deep anger issues with my brother.

    11. The Wish-Granting Bird and A Couple of Others

      Dream - Lucid - AP

Something about band, about me playing my clarinet. Austin, an ex, was there, I think he was encouraging me to practice.

I was at Austin's house. I was spending the night with him, thought it was morning in the dream. We were laying in bed, and I had to get up to pee. I got up, and I was naked. Austin said to go quickly so his roommate wouldn't come out of his room and see me naked. I went into the bathroom. The walls were all cut out, kind of like in The Sims games. I could see the door to his roommate's room. It was moving, like someone was about to open it. I sat on the toilet. I figured out that Austin's roommate was, in fact, another Austin. Weird.

      ~

My family wanted me to go to this museum to see this giant, yellow bird. His head was almost always buried in the sand, kind of like what an ostrich does. But on that day, from 2-4pm, the bird's head would be out of the sand, and he could grant you 3 wishes. I saw this on a sign by the museum. I didn't want to go, and I let my family know this. That led to some arguing. I couldn't figure out if this bird was real, or if it was mechanical.

Then, my brother went. I remember seeing him running down the back bone of some giant, prehistoric animal. Another giant bone tried to hit him, but he evaded it. He never got to see the bird, however, because it was after 4pm.

      ~

I was at school, sitting in Data Analysis (a real class I'm currently enrolled in in waking life), though the classroom looked like one of my high school classrooms. I was sitting down, doing some of the work. I felt like I was doing a great job; I understood everything pretty well. I remember looking at the board, and seeing this spiraly background behind some of the words, and it was moving.

Then, as I was passing my homework in, I saw written on the board that we could use pen or pencil only on the homework. I looked down at my assignment, and I had written, in orange sharpie, the directions on not using anything other than pen or pencil. I couldn't really fix it, so I handed it in, hoping that my teacher would understand, even though I didn't follow directions.

Then, I was at my house, in a weird closet. Ryan was with me. I asked him to help me pick out a shirt to wear to Data Analysis. I was, for some reason, wearing a navy blue 2-piece bathing suit with tropical-looking white flowers on it. He picked out this one shirt, and I put it on. You could see the bathing suit right through it, so I took it off and asked him to pick out another shirt, one that you couldn't see through.

Last night was terrible, couldn't sleep at all. All I remember was being at my World History class, talking with my teacher, and popping up in some capture the flag game. I was on a team with some of my friends and we had to capture the enemy flag 3 times, or take control of 4 zones to win the game. I think we won because we moved onto a different level. In this level, there was a huge tower in the center of the map with a deep chasm surrounding it with a few "islands" in the chasm. There was huge mountains off in the distance and a cesspool with dinosaurs in it. Oh, and the mountains had some sort of sculpture carved into it. The rocks were a very light tan color and it was bright and sunny, but with a hint of fog. The tower itself was very boxish in it's design and angled upward almost like a pyramid. It had a portal at the very top and other smaller portals that teleported inside the tower scattered all over the playing field. The last thing I can remember is that I was searching for my team on the outskirts of the level before waking up.

It was enjoyable dream, better than the last one at least in terms of creepiness. Still though, I look forward to having lucid dreams!

    13. Flying; Lost Contest; Video Eagles with Harmonica Camera; In Shady Business with Sunglasses Thugs

      by , 03-27-2011 at 07:01 PM (* The Sandman's Dream Journal o/***)
I was in someones front yard, but it was across the street from my neighbors in waking life. I was with my wife or my cousin N

I said, "Let's fly," and I took off. I saw the stars. I got heavy above the trees. I was not lucid.

      --

I lost some kind of contest. I was walking down hill at night towards a restaurant or something.

I made it in went to a room to get dressed. I put on the clothes and wig that Americans wore in Washington's time. I stood very proud so as to not be bothered that I lost the contest.

      --

I was outside and saw a mated pair of Bald Eagles. I couldn't believe it. They circled above. Then I noticed they were chasing hawks out of their territory.

I grabbed a professional video camera. I thought it was mine. As I started taking video of the eagles, I started playing the harmonica. That was weird; it was attached to the camera. It only played one note.

I took more video and played the harmonica that was up to my mouth again.

I looked at the camera and noticed it was a strange dream version of my brother's old XL-1. It was partly blue and had wires making on empty frame underneath the body of the camera. I tried to see the harmonica, but it wasn't very obvious.

In waking life, my father taught harmonica. He also went to a Deepak Chopra seminar where he was told that the eagle is his animal spirit or something.

Dream skip: I'm in a building and receiving sun glasses. I'm some black market distributor. I am happy because this means money, but I realize I'm in business with thugs. This is dangerous business.

I start seeing guys that get bigger and tougher up the chain of command. Each one is stronger than the next.

Finally I see the big boss. He's a black guy. One of the white guys tries to make me look good. He climbs up onto a platform, I get ready, and as he jumps me, I grab his jacket and throw him to the floor. This is designed to show that I can handle myself.

I start hitting, though pulling my punches. Again, I am just showing what I could do, though I was slow and very unconvincing.

I end up in a car with two black girls. I'm stroking the hair of one of them and I wonder if the other one accepts me.

      --

My nephew was depicted as a cartoon character. He was outside in the snow. His mother called him Snow Cheese.

Then his mother started drawing cartoons of him. She was coming up with the text effortlessly. They were funny, but I never knew what they said.

by , 03-27-2011 at 05:13 PM (The Lab Notebook)
Non-lucid, Possibly lucid?, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm at the mall in my town, standing at the outside edge of the big parking lot on the north side of it. The parking lot is empty because it's been blocked off, and the route for the annual Race for the Cure, which runs around the edges of it, has been marked off. There are lots of people walking and running around the track. This is a practice run for the actual event. I remark to myself that I need to train for this event, because it is a race, and that I'm glad to see that they've repainted some of the lines on the parking lot while they've had it blocked off, because the lines really needed repainting.

From there, I start flying around the west side of the mall. [I think I remember realizing at some point during this sequence that if I was flying, I had to be dreaming. I'm not totally sure, though.] As I go from the north to the west side of it, the terrain changes from flat parking lot to natural land that rises and falls slightly. I'm holding onto a small, rectangular, round-cornered, solid plastic board, slightly larger than a sheet of paper. It catches the wind, and I fly by using it like a sail to pull me along, holding it perpendicular to the ground, with both hands, with my arms straight out in front of me. It's a lot of fun to fly this way. The wind carries me up and over each little rise in the land; every time I go over one, I have to pull my legs up to make sure my feet clear the top of the rise. They do, every time. This entire scene is very clear and vivid; I can feel the air moving around me, the pull of the wind on my arms, and the motions I make, and can see the land and the trees around me clearly.

Someone else passes me on my left, flying past in the opposite direction. As she does so, she holds up a bunch of white pieces of paper, fanned out, with big, black letters printed on them. They spell out “SLOWPOKE!” I don't take any offense at this, because that's fair; this method of flying is indeed slower than my normal self-powered, superhero-style flight.

[Different dream scene.] I'm at a place that seems to be a restaurant, but has a dark ride in the back, meeting a man named Harley Davidson, for whom the company was named.

      Radiation Dreams...

I am playing a game in a house where someone is radiation. I stand in the center of the house, and laugh maniacally imitating the man that is radiation. Four women scream, and run around in a circle through different rooms, then realize it's me doing the laughing.
