    1. [I Need A Brake]

by , 11-01-2012 at 12:25 AM (Searching For The Center of Everything)
      [Wednesday, October 31st, 2012]
I'm at Circle K, picking Alex up. I park it and walk inside. I have to go to the bathroom pretty bad, so that's the first place I remember heading. I walk in, and the door won't shut because of boxes and other things in the way.
I try pushing them aside and get it as closed as I can. I see Leila trying to help me, but I can't close it all the way and I give up. I end up stealing something, like a pack of gum or candy bar... and it was almost subconscious how I did it.

I walked outside of Circle K, Alex must have been waiting on me forever in the car. I get out there and Alex is spraying something on the tires and rims. She had an explanation like that it was to clean the tires or make them work better. I shrugged.

Then I noticed the car was parked HALFWAY up the hill, almost completely on the wall.
"WHOA. I did NOT park like that." I knew for a fact that I would never park like that.
"Well, you did." Alex assured me.
"No, fuck that. I did Not. I never park that far up."
I tried climbing up the hill and it was almost too difficult to do that; I almost slid back down.

      "Fuck it."
I ran back down the hill to calm down for a moment. Turning around, the car is on the ground, down the hill. I don't think anything of it, and I hop in. The car starts, and I roll the rest of the way down the hill...
It won't brake very well. I throw it into Forward and... It goes forward. I park somewhere else and try braking.
But it doesn't brake... hardly even slow down. Alex want's to go say something to someone inside, but I stop her-
"Uh, Alex... the car isn't working. I run over the curb and fall off a small incline and land on the road in front of traffic.

      "WHOA WHAT THE FUCK AUSTIN."
      "THE BRAKES AREN'T WORKING."
Me and Alex were driving away from Circle K- And my car wasn't braking anymore.
"The brakes must have been clipped." I suggested, I started driving slowly through the backroads.

      <I wake up.>
<I roll over and fall asleep.>

Now Alex is driving, and we're headed to my Dad's to see if he can fix it. The brakes are working for now. We turn the wrong road, but I don't realize it until the road becomes narrow and lines with hedges. She turns left at a strange Fire Department building. With the garages closed, but a Cop car parked in front. We turn around and park... and stop for a moment... We get out and walk around.

There's a couple really sweet vehicles like Mustangs and a black sports car here too now. Some other people drive up, get out and look around as if they're tourists. They admire the cars with us, and then I decide we should leave. We get in the car again, and have a small arguement that leads to us being grumpy at each other.

"FUCK" I stop myself. "I'm stopping, I'm stopping." I bang my fists on the steering wheel once.
"I'm not talking to you like this." She starts grabbing her stuff and putting it in her bag and opens the door.
"Wait! I'm not even angry!" Frustration kicks in. Why is she mad right now?
      She starts walking away.
"Oh come on, please don't do this!" Tears well up in my eyes.
She turns around, "Stop crying. There are people around here!"
I wipe my face and realize my face is soaked with tears now.
      We start walking again.

"Apparently, Seth is up ahead. He's crying over something too." Alex let's me know. We walk on a sidewalk that runs along several buildings that came out of nowhere. A group of people are sitting on the ground listening to a British exchange-student friend of ours. She hasn't been here in almost a year. But everyone is listening to her tell a story. We weave through the people, ignoring it- and I see a few people sitting down up ahead.

I light up a cigarette as we reach Seth. Alex and Seth start talking and I tune out. I take a drag, and exhale. What am I doing here? I wonder for a moment... Then Alex starts walking the other way. I follow suit.

As we reach the exchange student's circle again, someone hands me a paper with the story printed on it.
"When We First Kissed" by Hellogoodbye begins to play and the words change to match along with the song...

      "Sometimes,
Making points on white neon boards
      Is like,
Pulling stars off the black sky"

(My first dream lyric. And it's not exact, but it captures the point.)
<My dream ends and I wake up. "When We First Kissed" still playing in my head.>
    2. Hibiscus at Burning Man

This video was posted the night before this dream on reddit.
It got me really curious about Burning Man and I read up on it before going to bed.

      I'm driving home.
I decide to take the country road, which I love.
It's nearly always empty and is full of corners with very good visibility.
In other words it's quite safe to drive really fast, and you barely ever go over the speed limit doing so.

A village is coming up so I attempt to slow down, but something is wrong.
      The brakes are fading... badly!
I'm going downhill struggling to stop, the brakes aren't biting.
I enter the village quite a bit too fast but manage to come to a full stop after quite some distance.

What happened? I haven't had any brake fading since I changed to aftermarket brakes, and I wasn't even pushing them that hard.
Plus brakes don't just loose all their bite that quickly, they would have gradually started fading.
I get out of the car to check on the brakes and the pads are quite literally on fire.

No way... I try to recall if I was racing, but even if I was this couldn't possibly happen.
I get back in the car still trying to remember my driving, and start driving slowly to cool the brakes down.
I can't seem to recall my driving at all.

And then it hits me. I'm dreaming!
I immediately remember Burning Man and decide to go there.
I close my eyes, and imagine myself walking on the Playa.
Why did I close my eyes? I can teleport with my wings, this seems unsafe.

I open my eyes and find myself already at Burning Man.

      "Huh... that was easy..."

I notice a woman in front of me, staring at me quite intensely.

"No, it wasn't. I brought you here."

      Interesting.
I scan her aura to see if it is Faye messing with me, but I quickly realize it is not her.
It's the "hibiscus girl": Another mysterious woman / Emotional and sensory overload - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
The last two times she was wearing clothes with a hibiscus drawn on them, but this time she's wearing the actual flower behind one of her ears.

      "Well... hello there."
      "Come!"

She grabs my hand and drags me away.
She blinks the both of us a considerable distance ahead, and we end up in a location where people have set up all sorts of art pieces.

      "Beautiful, isn't it?"

I investigate all the pieces carefully.
They are very different from each other, but every one is beautiful in its own individual way.
There's everything from over-sized mechanical spiders shooting flames to tiny crystal sculptures.

She grabs my hand again, and gives me this look that clearly states that she is in control.
This is the second time she just dragged me into another dream.
I don't really mind, because I find her very interesting, and her presence is... quite arousing.
She's extremely attractive and quite sensual.
      I'm drawn towards her.
But I sill feel the need to be at least partially in control of what is going on.

"We're going to climb that sculpture"

She points at a tubular structure.
I resist the dragging and she looks at me.
I stare deeply into her eyes and grab strongly onto her arm.

"No, we're not. We're going dancing."

I smile, and pull her to a new location through my eyes, the way she has done it to me before.
I get us into some sort of club they have constructed here.
There's a center pillar giving support to a huge tent.
We stand on a small platform attached to it, a few meters above the ground.
There's neon-lights everywhere, in all kinds of colors, lighting the place up.
Some follow the rhythm of the music.
They are playing vocal trance. (A bit like this starting at 2:30)

The girl is visibly surprised that I just dragged her here.

      "Dance with me!"

She's unsure for a second but then smiles.

      "Sure"

She leans her back against me and we dance slowly to the very atmospheric music.
I really enjoy it. She smells very nice... it reminds me of lavender.
She brushes through my hair with her fingers... I wish I had such good hair in waking life.
The flashing of the lights turns my vision slightly blurry.
She turns around and closes here eyes.
She moves in for a kiss, and it's absolutely magnificent.
      I feel full of energy.

I can feel how much she is enjoying this.
      But then something startles her.
She looks at her hands and starts fading away.
She manages to look at me one last time before she completely disappears.

I decide that she must have woken up, how unfortunate.
My vision is blurry as well, I need to get out of here and stabilize.

I teleport outside where it is dusk now.
I rub my hands vigorously to stabilize the dream.

I walk along a path with more sculptures on both sides.
I meet many people, all very different from each other.
They're all extremely nice, everyone is smiling and says hi.
I wonder if Burning Man is anything like this in waking life.

Some guy explains to me how to build these tubular structures and I end up helping him extend one of his sculptures.

    3. Flight Through the Picture and Car Troubles

      by , 07-21-2011 at 07:36 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I woke up and looked at my phone to see what time it was. The screen looked funny; it was all blue with some weird word on it. I dismissed it at first, then decided to do a reality check. I looked away from the phone then back at it. The word had changed into another word, and continued to change as I was staring at it. I'm dreaming!

The next thing I knew, I was standing in front of a giant picture of a sunny day at the park. Many people were in it, and they were moving around like the pictures do in Harry Potter. I flew through the picture and into the scene.

I landed and wandered around. I counted my fingers on both hands. I was getting 5 each time. I finally got six after counting them twice. I ran through the park until I met a girl. She had short, light auburn hair.

"What's you name?", I asked her.
"Kim ____!", she replied (she told me her last name but I can't remember it right now. It was something like Hora? Not quite sure.)

I ran with Kim through the crowded park for a few seconds. I focused on my hands so I wouldn't lose the dream.

However, I then had another FA. I became lucid again, but it only lasted a few seconds.

      ~

I was somewhere with Dakota. He had kissed me again, like in one of my previous dreams. He then whispered in my ear
      "I can't stay over tonight."

      ~

I was driving down a road close to my neighborhood at night. I was approaching a red light, so I put on my brake. My car slowed down, but not much. I noticed that the brake had gotten stuck to the floor. Remembering what Ryan told me awhile back about how to fix your brakes if it does that, I tried his method: I stuck my foot under the brake to try to get it to come back up, but the pedal broke. I touched it, and it broke in half. Well, shit. I tried to brake anyway, but it wouldn't work.

I was fast approaching the light and had to think fast. By the light, two police cars were stopped and had their lights flashing. I turned on my emergency lights and honked my horn as I maneuvered in between the two police cars. I finally slowed enough by a curb and stopped. One of the officers came up behind my car and asked what was wrong. I picked up the busted brake pedal off the floor and told him it went out. I looked out my back window, and he was examining my back left tire, which was flat.
