      Dream fragment - Skydiving
I remember jumping off from something in the sky (probably a plane but I don't know). It was so high up, when I jumped there was a plane in the air somewhere below me so I swooped down near it. I wasn't the only one jumping either, and it was more like I was flying than actually falling. I remember circling around the cockpit and looking inside, the pilots were stunned to see me. I then let myself fly near the wing, the suction from the turbine seemed to be pulling me in but I managed to push myself away from it with willpower. I think I skydived about 3 times?

      Dream - Pool Party
I wake up in a building, it seems like some sort of residential hall or lodging. The floor is wooden and I think I was sleeping on it in a sleeping bag. I remember seeing my friend John, the time was about 8-9 so he decided to go ahead of me and head to class at uni because we didn't have karate practice today. Karate? I seem to have signed up for the karate club and now I know it's also supposed to be the first day of school. I look around and pack my bag, but I notice the instructor for the karate club actually getting ready for something so I realize there is club activities today.. And for some reason in the area that I originally woke up in? I walk over and stand on the yoga mat. Putting down my stuff and trying to shift my sleeping bag, bowl and 2 spoons out of the way for some space (apparently I had breakfast unknowingly). We start with some aerobics stuff which really disappoints me, I was really looking forward to sparring because in the dream I seem to be a skilled fighter . Some music turns on and the karate teacher starts moving around doing some dance that we all follow, I try to keep up but I have no clue what to do and end up doing everything slightly behind everyone else. I'm not wearing any shoes or socks and I feel like there's crumbs all over the damn ground too. I try to kick it away while dancing and end up shifting it onto another persons mat by accident. The dance thing kind of ends and some kind of poncy pool party happens. Yes, there is now a pool in my room O_O. We get complimentary omurice-pancakes, which are actually just normal pancakes that are really bland. I recognize some of the people as having similar faces to some old friends in high school, the girls are quite pretty and seem to have a really upper-class vibe. Most of them are in bikinis and board shorts. There's a lady from the karate club going around and offering these incredible looking melted chocolate balls. They look so good but you have to pay for them. I realize that there's no point wasting money on them so I just ignore them. I spot one of the characters from the Home and Away TV show cast (just googled it, his name is Luke Mitchell or 'Romeo Smith' on the show). He's encouraging people to dance to the music but I pat him on the back and politely excuse myself, I have to get to class. My class starts at 10 and it's nearly 9. I can't quite recall if it was part of this dream but I remember driving/being driven down a road in my home town (it felt like it happened earlier but the dream logic would mean it happened last?).

      Karate and Kate from Lost

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

There is a Karate Tournament going on. I fight 2 times and win. I mess with a guy but nothing happens. I talk to my trainer about something. We also talk about my ex jujutsu trainers.
The scene changes and I am at a party. A lot of girls are there and also a lot of my friends. One girls start giving me a lapdance. She goes away after a while and winks at me while she leaves the room. Were suddenly at a different house from some guy. Kate from Lost is there and I kiss her. She asks me why that took so long and we go upstairs. I go to the bathroom. When I leave the bathroom Bruce Lee is standing there and wants to beat me up. I tell myself that hes actually nice and he vanishes. I go back into the room but its not Evang. Lilly anymore but Scarlett Johansson. We start doing it.
After were done I see E.L outside in a witch costume. She tells me to come downstairs. I open the door but some girl stands there blocking my way. I tell E.L she should call me but the girl says no. I leave and drive away through the woods.

      1) I am sparring Rick, and wielding two wooden swords. Sensei Doug is there acting as a bodyguard for him (looking all serious and focused). Doug demonstrates how to push down Rick's weapon with my swords, and then attacks me. I switch my grip to the middle of the wood, as it changes into a short pole instead of blade and block. I make a mental note of how unfeasible it is to have your hand in the middle of the relatively flat thing you're blocking with...

      -Skip-

I am again sparring Rick, this time I have a two sided hammer. I hit him (more like tap) repeatedly, and he falls to the ground. Makes a comment I don't recall... I look at my hammer and the memory ends.

      1) Camp ground. Blasting energy at people and buildings.
      2) Mystic / Fantasy setting. Coworker killed me, made me forget. I came back, classroom setting, same coworker in the desk next to me. He threw a punch and I tossed him over my shoulder.

    5. The Blue and White

My karate class was having their training at a different location tonight. They said it was gonna be BIG.

We met in an auditorium. There was a giant metal cage in the middle of the room.

I saw that my neighbor was here! I didn't know that she did karate!

I did a reality check, but everything turned out to be normal. I was just in a state of disbelief.

The instructor introduced the metal cage as a fighting and defense scenario. There were mechanical punching arms that would come out of the walls and the person inside the cage would have to block, while trying to escape.

My neighbor was the first to try it out.

She got inside the metal cage and waited for a minute. Waited for something to happen...

One of the mechanical arms came out of the wall and she blocked it immediately. She climbed up the chain-link-fence walls and disappeared.

A minute later, we saw her ziplining down the room from the ceiling! She was like a ninja!

Everyone immediately wanted to try their skills inside the fighting box.

I was just sitting on a bleacher, finding it pretty interesting, but not really caring one way or the other.

I was selected to be the first one to go forth. I tried to pass it up, but I was shoved forcefully inside.

The inside of the box did not look at all like it did from the outside. I felt as if I had been teleported somewhere else.

I was in a house...at the base of a staircase. The house had a strong Victorian style. It was dimly lit, but light poured out from a door that was ajar. I heard people talking.

I heard the faint whispers of plotting coming from the room with the door that stood ajar. And then I heard another voice. A voice that did not come from the room, but perhaps from my own head. It told me to stay away from the walls. And to stay on the staircase for now. Not to continue on.

I heard the floor creaking near me. I stood ready to fight.

A woman came from around the corner and instantly attempted an attack. I kicked her in the face and she was out.

This pattern of random people attacking continued about ten more times until they stopped coming and I decided to climb the stairs.

At the top of the stairs the layout of the house changed dramatically. Instead of continuing to be a house, the layout changed to strange tunnels and theater catwalks. People were still coming at me...but they had changed. They were now harder to fight. Instead of being instantly knocked out when I kicked them, they would just get back up again. Even if I pushed them off of the top of the catwalk.

I used many different styles, but I discovered that my strength was kicking. It had the most power for me.

One woman was really smart though. She looked around sixteen and had brown hair with braids. I had attempted to kick her, but she grabbed my leg, smiled, and twisted me to the ground. I thought I was a goner but I managed to get back on top of her and push her off of the theater catwalk. I watched her fall to her death and she left my mind...

I was fighting off someone else. When I had defeated them I turned around to move on and she was standing directly behind me.

She scared the shit out of me. I knocked her down and just kept running. These people weren't dying anymore!!!

I ran to the last section of the house. It was in a cave-like tunnel. There were four girls. Each of them were strong in their own ways, as I figured out.

"I am Katya. And I am a telepathic," she announced to me. She looked sly and motioned for me to come at her. I was planning to hit her with a sidekick.

"Sidekick," Katya assured before I had attacked, and defended herself appropriately.

I wasn't sure how to attack her. I thought that I should attack her with one style, and then instantly switch to a different kick right before, so that she has little time to prepare. Of course, even thinking about it would be futile.

All four of the girls attacked, and all of the people that I had not finished off in the last room, and I was completely lost.

"Stop! Stop! Stop!" I yelled, "How am I even supposed to defend myself?"

"You're doing it wrong," Katya explained, "this is harder. You must now kill, not defend. You can't play offense when you are obsessed with defense."

"And what better to kill with, than a sword?" Katya hinted. When I thought about how I didn't have a sword, she whispered, "This is no longer reality. You can imagine what you please."

I envisioned a sword. A powerful one, that would respond to me.

The base of the sword was blue and white. The blade of the sword was white, but almost translucent. It had beautiful jagged edges. It was perfect for me.

I fought deftly now. And when I proved myself, the girls and I fought against a giant dragon. With determination and power, we obliterated it.

I am in a place I don't recognize, but somehow it doesn't seem strange that I'm there. I am sitting at a bar and drinking a beer. This is odd since I don't even like the taste of beer, but again, this strangeness doesn't seem out of place to me at the time. The bartender comes over and starts hitting on me, and I am able to milk his interest enough to get a free beer out of it. A little flattery, a bit of flirting... I am drinking this second beer when I do something else I never do in my waking life. I bum a cigarette off of a guy sitting near me at the bar and then I bum a light off of him as well and I start smoking. I have never smoked in my life! So there I am at a bar I don't recognize drinking beer which I don't like and smoking a cigarette when I never smoke, and it doesn't occur to me to do a reality check. As I am sitting there, I hear a bit of an argument going on. I am unable to hear exactly what is being said, but when I look over I see a couple of women getting into it with each other. It quickly escalates with one of them throwing something at the other, and the other breaks out with some karate moves. One man looks like he's going to go over and interfere, but a second man blocks his path but physically and with a plaintive whining argument, "But it's a girl fight! You never break up a girl fight!"

I'm walking around a version of the grocery store in Ixburg which I've seen before. Produce by the entrance to the southwest, ceiling-high shelving running east-west all through the store like a warehouse. I'm looking for strawberries.

Still in the grocery store, I'm now a different character. I'm an employee and also some kid genius version of myself from an alternate timeline that I can't recall the gender of. I help someone with a difficult problem. They try to complement me, but I tell them, "Hey, I just work in a grocery store."

I don't and never have in real life.

Now I'm in a strange mix of Halifax and Quickton, where the rivers cross through the city, forcing roads to follow bridges and riverbanks. It's topsy-turvy, and hilly, and it's a bright, sunny day.

Various members of my family, including aunts and uncles, are waiting on the patio section of a restaurant, looking at menus and hoping someone will get around to serving us eventually. I'm looking at the menu, unable to find anything that's vegetarian, but the menu itself is really hard to decipher. A waitress shows up to say we're supposed to be ordering right now, but they're really busy, so is it all right if we just wait a bit?

My mom, another woman (possibly Sandra, my mom's friend), and myself go to check out another restaurant. When we get there, we notice that our other group hasn't been served yet, either. It's a lose/lose situation, I guess.

Sandra is driving. We cross a bridge and are headed downward on a slight slope when, from the passenger seat, I notice a truck heading toward us has suddenly flipped into the air without warning. "Whoa." is the collective consensus. Sandra hasn't slowed down and I call her on it. The truck is still flipping, and it's starting to roll into our lane. As we get closer, the truck flips up into the air again, and we zoom safely underneath.

"Nice timing!" I say to Sandra.

I'm still in the Halifax/Quickton hybrid, zooming across the city at a bird's eye view. I think about karate classes once a week, and the fact that I keep moving from city to city, changing up disciplines and instructors. I'm a martial artist, I think to myself, I need to take my training into my own hands. A flash of me running down a dirt trail.

City-Fusions. Scare Factor: 1. Reaction: I think my subconscious is trying to tell me something.

    8. #15. Dream-Style Karate Tournaments

by , 06-14-2010 at 03:59 AM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
This dream took place over the course of several days, with time-skips between unimportant parts.

A woman shows me a new kata.

I'm on a farm, apparently visiting my Oma. She gives us (myself and a girl) a ride into town. I make fun of her car.

We arrive at the tournament, which takes place in my hometown. The girl (I have the feeling I knew her) and I are going to perform some kind of strange team kata that's some kind of dance, and the one we're doing has a male and a female character. I'm playing the male character even though I'm female in the dream.

It's about 10AM, and our part doesn't come around until around 1PM. I'm not dressed yet and I can't find my sword. I might have to ask my Oma (whose car I made fun of) for a ride home to look for it.

My mom brings my sword, but I'm still not dressed. It's into the afternoon now. I peek out of the dressing rooms to check that they're not calling for us.

For some reason, I'm not wearing my karate uniform, but something more like a dress robes. There's a red dress long... robe-like thing made of a kind of satin-like material, and an outer set of long black robes that look more like my gi than anything I've seen yet in this dream.

Oh, yeah, definitely. That is totally what I meant.

I'm standing beside my partner for the team kata (who looks a bit like a geisha), wondering about the feminist implications of this performance. I mean, one of us doesn't actually do anything.

Oh, yeah, you do that fan kata.

Wait, we actually both have a kata to do.

This is followed by several minutes of panic, within which I realize I've forgotten my kata.

Then we're standing in front of the judges, and I'm going through the motions of my sword kata, which I've known for a very long time.

You know, my partner hasn't said anything this entire time.

      Shift.

I'm at a boarding school with my high school classmates, or I'm finishing off a karate class. We're all actually at a dream-changed version of a parish hall in my hometown.

"Line up!" Calls Sensei B, one of my old instructors.

My high school classmates mill about (quickly) in confusion, most of them not having been in karate. In the chaos, I'm trying to figure out which line I should be in, with my... red belt.

      I'm a green belt, right?

I'm standing in line when I realize that my already ridiculous costume has been substituted for a sheer lingerie-style robe.

I think Sensei B is making fun of me.

Dream-Style Karate Tournaments. Scare Factor: 3.5. Would prefer to avoid.
