    1. Attaining Lucidity: My First Lucid Dreams (August 3rd and 4th)

      7 is the magic number. Scientists are telling us now that, due to research backed results, anything more or less than 7 hours of sleep is relatively bad for you. Let us assume that an average person follows this religiously, and then let us assume that he lives to be a ripe age-of-majority (I think) 75 years old.
      That means that this average person spends about 191, 625 hours sleeping (not counting Leap-years). Not doing anything, and MAYBE he'll get a good dream out of it if he's lucky. But most people can't remember many of their dreams, and when they do, it feels so aloof that it doesn't seem like they've experienced it.
      For me, that has always been unsettling until I discovered a place called Dream Views five years ago. Through constant research I began my quest to understand the power of lucid dreaming and how to manipulate my dreams. However, my attempts were mostly made up of WILDs during the night before I was going to sleep, which ended in failure every time. Suffice to say I got less and less motivated because, as you'd probably be the first to tell me, I wasn't motivated in the first place.

      Well this all changed once I saw the movie "Inception", and found out that Christopher Nolan (the director) has been lucid dreaming since he was 7 years old. Anyhow, maybe you already knew all this, but the main point of this blog is this: I've been researching lucid dreaming for almost 5 years; it has always fascinated me since reading about it, and due to the huge amount of tutorials here on Dream Views, I've learned quite a bit. But I've never been able to pull it off until a few weeks ago thanks to the CANWILD technique by CrazyInsane.
      So, below are the dreams I had, and on which days. I now understand that not only is Lucid Dreaming possible, but that the dream world is as real as ours in every way, and that the connection you can build to the events in your dreams feel as if they are true experiences that you yourself have gone through; and they remain in your mind as memories of your life- best of all, you feel as if you've done something with those 7 or however many hours you've slept, rather than that you've just slept through part of your life.
      Tuesday Night (August 3rd):

      Ok, so the first one I attempted as soon as I read a tutorial. I downloaded the sound and alarm clock, set it, and went to bed. Unfortunately, I was SO excited, that I couldn't get to sleep for the longest time. I'd finally fall asleep then have a long, vivid dream (non-lucid) and then wake up. Get a drink, go back to bed, unable to sleep, then finally get to sleep, and have another vivid non-lucid dream, wake up etc, for about three of these cycles. However, in the final one, I was having a dream and decided to look at my clock as I've trained myself to do, and lo and behold, it wasn't consistent (for digital clocks in dreams never are)! So I thought "Aha! This is a dream!" so I immediately started rubbing my hands together and examining them and things got ultra-real. So I decided to examine the mechanics of my dreaming mind, how things behaved, etc. I remember feeling completely aware, I remember checking the mirror to see what I looked like and I looked the same and was kinda disappointed but the image was slanted, also I'm 80% sure that I created things to see how that worked, basically this was a training exercise for me, and that's how I worked it. When things started to get blurry or dark, I'd rub my hands together again and continue exploring. I'd say I was in the dream for a perceivable hour.

      When I awoke, the next day I had such a sensation of accomplishment, as though I'd actually done something with the time that I'd otherwise be wasting in sleep, and I pondered what I would do next.

      So, for the first lucid dream I was not able to use the clock, but I became lucid because of how anticipant I was.

      Anyhow, the next day at work I checked the clock constantly, did more reality checks, and thought of what I'd like to do next. Anyhow, I decided I'd like to learn summoning next, and so I picked Tricia Helfer as my subject. I theorized that if I was to summon her, as per this site's guidelines, it would need to be believable, so I theorized that using my phone (which is my "totem" if you will as I also use it to check the time to make sure it's consistent) to have her on speed dial would do it, that or going to a building that seemed like the kind she might be at. Besides, I also read here on Dream Views that having a Dream Character help you in whatever task you are trying in the dream world, stabilizes the dream

      So, I got home, read up on more techniques especially in controlling a dream, decided the passive way was best, and went to sleep.
      Wednesday Night (August 4th):
      Well, AGAIN I was too excited to sleep and had much difficulty, but since I remained awake,
      I entered SP (Sleep Paralysis) at one point, tried to sit up in it, but ended up waking myself up and recalling that someone had posted and said it's better not to because you risk waking up (Better to just enter the dream). 'However that is supposed to be done.' I thought. Anyhow, later, the alarm went off! And I heard it but faintly, and so I thought "this is it!" I was already in SP and was waiting, trying to remember what to do, when my body felt like the top half of it was being lifted. But not my physical body, more like a floating body, if you know what I mean. Anyhow, I thought I'd just let it happen, so I did, I got lifted up till my top-half was 90 degrees with the bed, then I shot up out of the room and entered the dream (which was my room lol) but I was standing in it.

      Anyhow, I remembered how the day before I had been talking to my cousin about doors and if you could make some other destination appear when you open the door, to go to that is. So anyhow, I opened the door and it was just like the norm in my house and I got frustrated and slammed the door. Can't remember what happened next but eventually I got into a fancy restaurant and thought "this is where I'll find Tricia Helfer" and when approached by the hostess I said "Yes for two, but she may be here already" so I went into the dining room but found that she wasn't there. I thought this odd because I thought I was being quite cunning in my manipulations but I waited for a while and she still never showed up. So I thought "why don't I call her?" so I checked my phone, and sure enough she was on my speed dial, I called her and she said she wouldn't be able to make it. At that point I thought "I thought I was controlling this dream? Guess I'm not.". But she said she'd meet me "somewhere" so anyhow, I ended up walking down the street when suddenly, from the sky, came a rocket ship, crashing into the ground like the canisters of weapons on Halo 3. The policeman opened it and freaked out. When I got there, I saw it was Tricia Helfer inside and I explained to the officer (to his confusion) that I knew her and it was fine. So we left, I asked her what took her so long, I forget what she said, but I pondered why she had come out of the sky rather than just be "around the corner" so to speak (which is supposedly one of the best ways to summon things in a dream. just know that it's around the corner or, like I tried, in the restaurant). Anyhow, we both navigated through the dream and there were some people after her for some reason but mostly I tried to get a handle on creating things. Again, I felt completely aware in this dream but found it odd that I was jumping from one location to the next.
      But that's it. I tried the next night again but to no avail as I was so exhausted having not eaten for hours because I had to go look at a house straight from work.

      To date however I have had no lucid dreams and am getting frusterated because it was all so easy, but not so much anymore. Anyhow, I will continue to look to you here on Dream Views for more inspiration and support, and I'd like to say thanks for my progress so far.

    2. 09-11-10 Of Mice and Futures Told

      Note: I fell asleep with the goal of meeting up with MoSh, who said he wants to get in contact with his guide and ask him a few questions, but before that MoSh had said he would help out in an attempt to heal my ailing pet, Frodo, who is a guinea pig who seems to be suffering from a serious illness. I don't know how much chance there is of doing a dream healing on that, but I figure there is nothing to be lost by trying. I fell asleep, aiming for a WILD, but epic fail…

      I got up out of bed, annoyed at myself that I had been unable to successfully enter a WILD, I wondered what is going on with me that it seems to be so much trouble getting into a WILD. It either works wonderfully or epic fails, and I am getting pretty tired of it. I went into the bathroom to use the facilities before going back to bed, somewhere around the bathroom door I thought I had better do a RC , I did that, and discovered I was already in a dream! Now that I was lucid I completely forgot my need to use the bathroom and considered what my goals were, I didn't remember everything clearly, but I remembered MoSh was part of it, so I would start by getting to MoSh's inner world. I tried to open a portal, but nothing happened, wtf? I knew I was dreaming and that I should be able to open a portal, but it wasn't working, which was just another annoyance. I saw the closed door to my game room and focused on it leading to MoSh's inner world, but when I opened it, all I found was my game room. Frodo was in his cage making some soft noises that sounded more like groans of pain that purrs, so I went over to check on him, he didn't look good at all. That was when I remembered the goal of healing him, and I remembered MoSh and Pablo had both offered to help, so maybe I could do that first if I wasn't able to open a portal to find MoSh… um… but I still had to find MoSh…

      I decided maybe if I could just get out of my own inner world I might be able to go find MoSh and Pablo, but I wasn't even sure how to do that… I cursed out loud at the fact I was lucid and yet I didn't seem to remember how to use my abilities that I have been using for so long. How to open a portal 101, sounded corny, but that's what went through my mind. Step 1: Decide on a destination. Done, I was going to Pablo's inner world. Step 2: Focus on the image clearly in my mind. Done, I had a nice image of the forest I have seen repeatedly in Pablo's inner world. Step 3: Use Through the Never by Metallica while tracing a circle in the air to indicate where the portal will open. Through the Never, that was the problem, I didn't have any way to play music. I went back to my bedroom to find my purse, I needed my iPod, that would have the song I needed… but I couldn't find it, there was nothing but $20 bills stuffed in my purse. I finally found a music player of some kind… it was weird, but I knew it would do, and I somehow knew Through the Never was on it… so I played the song and opened a portal, which I went through.

      On the other side of the portal I was exactly where I wanted to be, I took a step forward as I scanned the forest for any sign of Pablo, I tripped, and I face planted right there in the grass. What had I just tripped over? I turned to look and I saw there had been a fox right at my feet, and he was what I had tripped over, now the fox was just eyeing me with a mixture of amusement and concern. I got up and dusted myself off, since I had landed in the grass it hadn't hurt at all, and I asked the fox if he had somehow planned that. The fox shook his head, but I hadn't really meant it seriously anyway. I said I had come looking for Pablo, he had said he would help me heal my pet, which triggered the fox to transform from an adult fox to an adorable little cub and then jump into my arms. I caught the cute little bundle and gave him a hug before returning to my inner world through the same portal I had used to get there in the first place.

      Once I was back in my own house, still holding a cute little fox pup, I saw MoSh was already there and seemed a bit surprised to see me back. He asked me where I had been, I just responded by holding up the fox, he said he had thought I was going to come see him. I said I had tried, but my portals weren't working very well. He said ok, then said he wanted to visit his guide, I said he'd agreed to help me heal Frodo, he said ok to that. We went into my game room where Frodo was in his cage, still huddled in the corner making some noises that didn't sound good, so we did a healing spell on him, then Nomad showed up and we did it again. I wondered if the healing spells had any chance of working if the little guy had cancer… I didn't want to be thinking like that, but I couldn't help it. MoSh said he hoped the little guy got to feeling better soon, I said I also hoped for that. MoSh asked if we could go meet up with his guide now, I said sure, I was not sure if I could open the portal, but I tried it… nothing happened. I still wasn't getting anywhere towards opening a portal, so I grabbed my music player and opened the portal as I ignored MoSh saying he would do that. I didn't want to admit I couldn't do it myself, it was too annoying. MoSh and I went through the portal and exited into his inner world. I looked around to see if I could find his guide, but I didn't see anyone else anywhere around. MoSh said he knew where his guide wanted to meet up, so he would open the portal. He did that, we went through, and we met up with MoSh's guardian.

      It turned out that MoSh wanted to know if his guide knew anything about what might happen in the year 2012. I don't remember exactly how the conversation went, but Victor and MoSh were talking about it for a time, and this is what I remember. Victor said that the year 2012 doesn't indicate the date of some kind of fire and brimstone / rapture type end of the world, he said the end that could be beginning in 2012 is caused by much more mundane sources… people. And it's not something that will happen overnight, rather it is something that is already in progress, but will be more apparent after 2012. It basically has to do with consuming more resources than can be replenished, leading to some serious issues, basically if people don't start being more careful with how they take care of natural resources, there won't be anything left. But there is still time to change things before it's too late, so there is not necessarily anything serious to be started after 2012…

      Victor talked about the different things that people are doing to self-destruct as well as destroying the rest of the world. Using too many resources will lead to shortages worldwide, famines, droughts, war… As he was talking about all of the negative predictions my mind wandered, and I realized I wasn't paying as much attention to that as maybe I should have since I have basically heard it all before, and I have little hope that anything is going to change before it's too late. The next thing I noticed was that MoSh was asking me if I was hearing anything Victor was saying at all. I said sure, I was, but I've heard it all before, and nothing is going to change, so what's the point? Victor was now talking about music, he was talking about remembering dream music in waking life. This was something I was quite interested in, so I was paying attention again.

      Victor was talking about remembering the first part of the song being the most important part, because if we make sure and remember the first part then the rest of it will be much easier to recall. MoSh and I were practicing on a song I didn't recognize, he was playing his guitar while I played on an electronic keyboard. I tried the song the first time… epic fail. I thought I heard MoSh laughing… I was going to be annoyed, but I didn't allow that since I really had epic failed at the song… I tried again, and this time I did a bit better. MoSh was doing very well on his guitar, my keyboard playing still left much to be desired. We tried it one more time. I still thought that while his music rocked, mine was still second rate, but at least it seemed to be passable.. I was happy at the improvement I had accomplished, MoSh was talking to Victor about what else helps. Victor said that it is important to play the song ourselves instead of just listening to it. It can be done with just hearing it, but playing it makes the tune stay in the mind much better. I continued playing the song on the keyboard, and MoSh was playing along with the guitar, and I was wondering if I might be able to remember this IWL. I was hoping I could, then I woke.

      Subconscious Shenanigans (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      Unfortunately I don't remember this one all that well (I need to work on recall!) but it was indeed alucid dream. I believe this was led into from another dream. From what I can remember, it seems as though I was lucid the entire time. I had intended to communicate with my subconscious the next time I became lucid, so that is what I was trying to do. I remember looking over a rather scenic landscape, and chatting with several people who are all parts of my subconscious, or so it seems. The scene pans quite a bit, and by the end I'm on a floating platform of sorts... tied to a tree, I think? I can't really remember.

      Somewhere about halfway through the dream I notice that my "dream" only fills a rectangle in my field of vision.
      (Think the Animus from Assassin's Creed. I've been playing that a lot the past couple days.) I can see and hear my friend Andy off to the left, and he can hear what I'm saying to these parts of my subconscious. I'm not lucid enough to realize this isn't possible. As for what I actually ask my subconscious, I'm not quite sure. I know I didn't get to ask everything I wanted to. I only clearly remember the bit at the end, though I recall several people. There was also a robot sort of thing that I couldn't really understand. Mainly I was talking to this jolly, but VERY fat man. Towards the end he puts on a record which has some recorded burp-type sounds on a baseline of sorts, which I think is a meme I've heard. (It isn't, but sadly it isn't far off...)

      I remember asking in joking disbelief, "have the memes really sunk in this far...?"

      He responded, "Well, perhaps you haven't heard this one, but somebody did, on _____" (some website, I can't remember. Think like Pandora radio or Last.fm)

      "So what, is it like in the hivemind then, or something?" I joked. I don't remember his response. Around this time, the one question I do remember asking is about having more lucid dreams, to which he answers, "Just be yourself, and keep doing what you've been doing." The advice doesn't seem too helpful, but on the other hand... I did something right. He ends up leaving saying, "Sorry, I gotta go. I'm gonna be on TV soon, you know."

      "Yeah, I'm sure you're just wildly popular," I laugh. He motions to a woman that's there suggesting that she's the popular one. There was also some random man there, but I didn't end up talking to either of them. The dream faded before I got to ask the other questions I wanted to, like about intuition and the paranormal.

    4. Mandalorian Rescue Attempt 6: Success...9/19/10(early morning)

      I started off back at my school(DS) and instantly became lucid without dream signs! I wasn't screwing around anymore. It was time to fricking blow the hell out of the Romans and save my Mandalorians. I went outside, and chose from the strongest and most athletic people in the school. We all suited up and I summoned the Romans. And they had modern technology again. So, our first opponent was the hovercraft. I took out my signature Westar-33 Blaster Pistols. We all fired upon the hovercraft. Our attacks were useless. Then, a thought occured to me: Jet-pack rockets! Of course! I bent down, rocket pointing at the hovercraft. I fired, and the craft took a mighty blow. I fired another. This proved to be most effective. Everyone began firing rockets at the craft. It soon went down. It crashed, and exploded, making a huge crater. Now, we could see the prison camp. Romans began pouring out. We began firing. We quickly eliminated them, even though they had blaster rifles. Now, a giant mechanical Roman fifty feet tall landed. No problem, with all of our fire power...
      Now thousands of Roman soldiers poured out of the prison camp. "Soldiers," I said."You handle the soldiers...I'll take the robot..." Even though there was only about three-hundred of us, our armor was resistant to blaster bolts, so it'd take a lot to beat us. It was like the Battle Of Thermopylae all over again. This battle was the most epic display I've ever seen in my thirteen years of life. I've never seen so much blood, gore, guts and sweat then this very moment. Seriously. I had finally run out of ammo. However, the mechanical Roman was pretty weak. Then, I remembered I still had one jet-pack rocket. I bent over and aimed at the mighty robot. I fired...and hit the robot. He tumbled over and exploded. I got up. I realized I was only person standing now. All the Romans and Mandalorians(my classmates) were dead. I freed my other soldiers. We took a moment of silence for our fallen. I then awoke...victorious.

    5. Wave 51: Thanks J-C, Karma or watever

      What a great way to kick off my next 50 entries! Yay! First LD in a while. Im going to church later Shit gotta go.

      Dream 1: Alright one of the weirdest dreams I had since I joined. I started a class about riding poney's. I missed the beginning of it, so everyone had his horse but me. The teacher shows me the only horse left. Its big and ugly. As it comes up to me, I walk away. Then it starts talking and says that hed like a better master. I sit down and see that all the other poney's are kid sized. I ask: Are you guys riding those? Then I ask our teacher why I cant get a better horse, and he says sometimes they ship cheap ones. Those that have white legs are cheap (which is like mine). Im not sure if the following happened in a seperate dream, but anyway: Later I am in a cafeteria. In the waiting line, I look around to find a place to sit. I see a place next to Roxanne who's sitting in front of her brother. Then I see Julien further on the table, and then I see Alex and Alex sitting at the far end of the room. I think I decided to go sit with them. For dinner, there is beaf, potatoes and beans. Looks awful :X

      Dream 2: LD This is the first LD in which a DC told me to RC (more or less). I mean, he didnt tell it to me, but still. In a scene from American dad happening in my house, a man suddenly yelled at Stan to Check on your kids! I got the word check from that. Then when I became lucid, all the characters each ate different colored pills all flew away in jetpacks from my window. I jumped down in my backyard and decided to do absolutely nothing. Just look at the sky, feel the grass and be amazed at how real it is. Nice. So nothing really happened .

    6. Mandalorian Rescue Attempt 5: Failure...9/18/10

      I started off in my school(DS). I was leaving Social Studies(DS). I was on my way to Study Hall(DS). This girl in front of me dropped her stuff, so I was forced to wait. By the time she picked everything up, we were the only two on the stairs. As we proceeded down the stairs, she stopped me again.
      "I really like you." she said. I was confused. "Do you wanna have sex?" she asked. That was a total WTF? moment.
      "I'll be late to class." I replied.
      "Oh, come on." she said.
      "Okay then." I said. So, we had sex. It started off as making out, then some French kissing. Then, some clothes started to come off.
      Then, I became lucid noticing I was in school. I have to admit, I was enjoying this. Odd though, as we were having sex on a staircase. After we finished, I realized I had to go save my soldiers. So, I left school. I told my friend Isaiah that I got laid. He was pretty grossed out. Outside the school, I decided to do things the non-fun way again. I kept trying the turn around, but it wouldn't work. Maybe my body was telling me something: Do it the fun way. So, I did. I forced some students to suit up, and we went to battle. I summoned some Romans. On accident, I gave them modern technology. We got man-handled. Upon failure, I awoke.

    7. A dryer with too many bells & whistles

      I am walking down a housing development road on a cool late evening with a DC . The sounds of crickets chirping fill the air. We are walking under a small arched bridge and notice that it is pouring rain on the other side of the bridge. The sound of the rain echoes through the archway. As we walk, the rain suddenly stops and the ground is completely dry. I looked at my DC and said “That's weird. How could the ground be dry after all that rain?” The DC just gives me a strange look and says nothing. I become lucid at this point. After crossing under the bridge, I notice that there is a washer and dryer set sitting out for the trash at the first house on the right. I remember that my dryer is broken, so I summon a pickup truck. A detail-less pickup truck appears right in front of me. Conveniently, the tailgate is already down and the rear of the truck is facing the dryer. My DC won't help me load the dryer into the truck, so I lift it by myself. At first it was extremely heavy, but it became lighter and I was able to load it. My DC walks away while laughing at me. I turn and cuss him to his back as he walks away.

      (Note: No-recall time gap and lost lucidity here)

      I am standing in a basement, looking at the dryer. The control panel has the usual dial control and start button, but also has many other buttons and lights that completely cover the top panel. There is a series of buttons and lights for each selection on the control dial. There were extra buttons for; 'pots and pans', 'rinse and hold', and many more. I think that all of these buttons are ridiculous as I say. “Why would I put dishes in a clothes dryer?” I walk to the rear of the machine to check out the hookups, and find out that it is a gas dryer. There is a motor visible through the rear panel louvers that has a pulley and a belt on it. There is another motor that appears to be a small air compressor. Many relays, solenoids and other circuitry is visible. There are long quartz heater tubes, connected by springs on both ends which encircle the drum. A hinged panel has 3 small motors on it that connect to nothing. A label on the rear panel has some voltage and current ratings on it After reading a couple of lines, the text would get all blurry. I look away for a moment and try to continue reading, but the numbers would change every time I tried to read the label. I regain my lucidity and decide to walk away from the dryer. I remember mumbling, “Way more complicated that it needs to be. I'm going to find a better dryer.” I wander into a dark corner of the basement and trip over something on the floor. I lose my balance and fall to the floor. This was the dream's exit.

    9. Mandalorian Rescue Attempt 4: Failure...9/17/10

      I started off by a house. I was walking up to it with my friend Victor. As we entered, I became lucid without dream signs! We came inside, and there were two girls.
      "Wanna have sex?" one asked. What the hell? Well, I had no time, cause I STILL had to save my Mandalorians.
      "Sure!" Victor happily said.
      "Uh, I have to go..." I said. These girls would NOT take no for an answer. So, I was forced to have sex. I guess I was raped. Odd. So, the police arrived. They arrested Victor and I! WTF??? As the car was driving away, I opened the door, and climbed onto the back of the car. Then, the cops started backing up the car. I found out why. There was another car behind us, and they wanted to smash me! I jumped off and ran. Okay, I wasted too much time. I decided to save my soldiers the non-fun way. I decided to use the turn around method and save them. Now my friend Zaine came. He kept annoying me. I eventually got away from him. Then, I used the turn around, just as I said the final words,
      I awoke! Damn. Damn! DAMN!

    10. Mandalorian Rescue Attempt 3: Failure...9/15/10

      I started off in a building. I was with a bunch of friends. Then, I just randomly became lucid without dream signs! Hell yeah, my dry spell is over! Now I knew it was time to save my Mandalorian soldiers. I had no time to summon more Mandalorians to help because it was a school night, so I figured I wouldn't have too much time. So, I told my friends to suit up. They refused. So, I decided to force them into uniform. As I kept trying the turn around method, my friends would run in front of me and screw me up. I was getting so frustrated. Then, my Dad woke me up! Damn it!

    11. Suicine and Giratina Shapeshifting

      This was awesome! I'm not that interested in pokemon right now, and I don't know why I decided to try shapeshifting into one, but regardless, this was one of the best lucids I've had in a few weeks.

      I was in some sort of large community hall. It was very modern-looking. The room was well-lit, and the floors and walls were almost completely smooth. There were large rectangular glass sculpture mosaics placed randomly around the room and all the reflections bounced off of each other. The room consisted of two separate levels; exactly one half of the room was a few inches higher than the other. Joining the two levels were two or three small steps, and this was where I stood. In this area, there was two glass mosaics (described earlier) on either side of me. Because of this, and the shadows the sculptures casted, it was darker where I was standing. When I actually looked at the mosaics with more awareness than before, I saw that the glass was solid and wasn't actually made of tiny pieces of glass. The solid "mosaics" then turned into shiny black granite sculptures, still the same shape as before.

      I could see my reflection in them, and I exclaimed, "wow, I can actually see my reflection!" At that moment, I became lucid and made another exclamation, more excited than before.

      Then I thought of my dream goals, and after a few moments of standing there without any idea as to what they were, I decided to ditch the goals and try something else. The first word that came into my head was "Suicine", a pokemon. Okay, good enough, but I still wasn't sure as to what I could do with one. I walked up the few steps and was now in the open part of the room. I looked around and the lighting suddenly became dimmer, although not uncomfortably dark. "Increase lighting", I said commandingly, and the lighting increased a bit. I didn't want to spend the rest of the dream making it even lighter, though. I turned around, expecting a Suicune to be there, and it was.

      It was actually very realistic for the most part, properly proportioned and the right colors, and I could see the details of the fur on its face and body. It was staring at me from fifteen or twenty feet away, and then began to quickly dash towards me. I was hoping it wouldn't make a run for me, but I thought it was a bit late to try fixing that. My lucidity was a bit lower now, but I could still think pretty well. I waited for it to come very close to me, and then I turned around, facing the other way. I saw the Suicune blend over my own body, like a blanket, and I could feel myself inside it now, as if I'd merged with it. I now began to walk and the shape of the Suicune became more and more defined. I began to run fast, on all four legs, up a set of granite stairs that led outside. It was fairly dark but this still didn't bother me. I was now along the side of the building, made of the same reflective granite as the sculptures inside.

      I ditched the Suicune guise by expecting myself to be me again, and looked at myself in the granite, waving and doing all sorts of silly things. Then I thought it would be cool to shapeshift into a Giratina, so I did this, using the same method as before. I saw a Giratina in origin forme flying down on me from the fairly dark sky, and then I just let it fuse with my own body. It felt quite strange. I turned around to look in the mirror and saw a Giratina in my place, but it was now in altered forme (the forme with legs, not a serpentine body). I walked to the left and saw the Giratina do the same thing. Then I flapped my wings and rose off the ground a few inches. I looked away from the mirror and began to fly into the darkness of the area. The lighting increased around me then, as if I were holding a lantern in my hand. Wherever I flew, the area was lit up for a radius of around twenty feet.

    12. Long Lucid

      lucid dream: 9-19-10



      I haven't been recording any of my dreams lately, so it was surprising that I was able to have a lucid. I don't remember all the details, but it was a really long lucid and pretty vivid.


      The first thing I remember was being in the computer room and looking in the closet. I had like 3 or 4 dresses in there and was looking for something to wear to homecoming. Two of the dresses I had never seen in my life and don't remember buying, so I'm not sure but I think that made me wonder if I was dreaming. But it seemed so real, there was no way I could be dreaming. But I did a reality check anyway and looked at my hands, one at a time. My left hand looked normal but my right hand had an extra finger, I I knew I had to be dreaming. I wasn't really sure what to do. I guess I just wanted to fool around and do random stuff so I went outside. I really don't remember a lot of what I did, but it was a really long dream. At one point I remember jumping up in the air and flapping my arms to try to get higher. I was in the middle of the road and cars would go past me. Someone shouted my name and I shouted back "My name is Elsia!" because they called me by my real name and apparently I was "Elsia" at the time. It was really hard to get high up in the air. Finally on the third time I got pretty high, I think it was about 6 stories up or so, but floated back down right away. I also remember something about a car crash.... but I don't remember any details. And I tried to teleport at some time. I acted like Hiro from the show Heroes and closed my eyes and tried to teleport but it didn't work. I also tried to stop time but that didn't work either. I was afraid of losing my lucidity so I focused on a blade of grass and it worked. Oh and then my friend Dani showed up at the bus stop for some reason(she doesn't live by me, or even take the bus) so I waited with her till the bus came. I started acting normal, just seeing where the dream would take me. We got on the bus and I forgot where it took us. Probably to school.


      I wish I could remember more of this dream, it was really long and fun!

      WBTB after #148 (which was better), so I'm posting this one on its own.

      When I come to, I'm lying on the floor. I'm also dreaming. I place my hands on the floor in front of me and run them through the grey shag carpet, trying to stabilize.

      I get up, and go to walk out the door. I notice the lights are off. I decide to test whether I can turn them on and off, since light levels often change during my dreams. I flick the switch, but nothing happens. Huh.

      I'm walking through the hallway, feeling the rolled on paint, trying to remember what I was supposed to do.

      I pop my head into a bedroom. There are people lying all over. There are a few on the bed, a few more lounging on the floor.

      "Hey," I ask my in-dream roommate, a girl on the bed who looks like Halle Berry. "Have you seen Zoe?"

      "She said she'd be at the party tonight."

      The dream fades into the party. I'm somewhat surprised; that's almost like teleportation.


      Lose recall.

      My parents drop me off at an apartment in downtown Calgary. I have two half-empty cardboard boxes with me. Both my mom and my dad are very disapproving about my decision to move to Calgary.

      We're driving through downtown, away from the skate park my brother wanted to go to. I see a couple of the people from the No Limits parkour group (I don't know them IWL), practicing as we drive by. I point them out to the other people in the car.

      Different dream.

      Zoe has a little brother, in this dream. I steal a set of Janitor's keys from him and he chases me through the building.

      Some quick backstory, for context.

      Selina is a girl I knew in high school. She showed up once in a previous dream. The two of us never spent much time together, but we got along fine. From what I remember, Selina is a very nice person.

      Jesse, I also went to high school with. We didn't get along, and though we're distantly related (small towns, eh?), we really don't share any of the same viewpoints. At all.

      I met Zoe Killion a few years ago, at a fine arts-related event. We've been friends ever since. She has a younger sister, whose name is (not really) Ava.

      This dream relates to Nomad's RPG. Vaguely.

      The good of one, versus the good of many.


      We are in a forest, surrounded by tall, black-barked trees. The edges of the clearing are choked with thick underbrush, and the lilac leaves and tall grasses tickle against the back of my t-shirt. The sky is streaked with the orange of the setting sun, which is hidden by the trees ahead of me.

      The group is gathered in a large circle, sitting cross-legged on the ground and facing inwards. I look around the circle, cataloging each face. I know all of these people. All of them are my age, and they're from all over the world, these people I've met in waking life.

      We've been stranded here, I realize.

      "It'll be one of them," says Jesse, pointing at me and - Zoe, sitting to my left. "Look at you two! Your spots are right next to the forest! Anything could come by and grab you."

      I'm lucid, not even feeling the need for a reality check. I frown. I can feel the dark, wolf-like presence lurking in the shadows behind me. Wordlessly, effortlessly, I call up a wall of mirrors on the other side of the clearing, confident that I'll be able to see the creature coming.

      I recognize the mirrors as a part of Nomad's first task, and I decide to stay here to play out the rest of the game. I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror: short blond hair, black clothes... everything gets a little fuzzy.


      Who cares about the many? I just don't want it to be -

      "- anyone," says Zoe, a bit sharply. "All we've been told is that one of us is going to die."

      "And if that happens," says Jesse, "Then the rest of us will be safe until tomorrow night!"

      Half of the table stands up at these words, shouting at each other. They're leaning across the round, stone table, ready to escalate into violence.

      The sunset is fading into darkness.

      Selina is standing up, ready to play the mediator. To get everyone to calm down, and work together, and I see my opportunity.

      I squeeze a hand into a fist under the table, and Selina collapses, dropping to the ground like a marrionette whose strings have been cut. Her internal organs have been liquefied, some of her bones have been ground into dust, and I'm pretending to panic along with the rest, pushing through the crowd as someone yells "WHAT HAPPENED!" and "Did you see?" and I'm pressing two fingers against her carotid artery, checking for a pulse that I know won't be there.

      "She's dead." I say quietly, and the faces around me reflect both horror and relief.

      The rules don't apply to monsters.

      I twist open the back door on a blue van, crawling in the back to reach for a case. It's orange, and the outside is covered in foam. My fingers sink into it as I lock it, latch it, make sure nothing is going to open it by accident.

      "Everyone's still trying to figure out what happened," says a voice from behind me.

      I crawl out of the van, resting the case upright on the bumper.

      "I mean, one second she was alive, you know?" says Ava, rubbing her left arm with her other hand. "Everyone thinks it was something supernatural, a new kind of monster from the forest."

      "It probably was." I say.

      "That's the briefcase." Ava nods at the orange case I'm holding. "The one that'll kill us if we go near it. So, it's safe now?" She makes a grab for it.

      "Don't touch that!" I snap, hitting her hands away. Idiot, of course it will still kill you! It's just that nothing is going to attack you outright - at least for now.

      I slam the door shut on the van, and walk away from the camp, still carrying the orange case so I can hand it over to my employer.

      I'm on no side but my own.

      "We're leaving!" says the Matron as she paces the inside of her ship, the flowing fabric of her dress trailing behind her. "Get the rest of the crew."

      "And the survivors?" I ask.

      The Matron growls. "I meant to capture all of them, but we're on a deadline."

      I nod, and turn to leave.

      "If you should happen across Miss Killion, of course," says the Matron coldly, "Bring her to me."

      I pass Ava as I leave the ship. She has her arms crossed, and is guarding the gangplank. She winks at me, and I allow myself a small smile.

      I'm certainly not on yours.

      I hit the drunk crewman over the back of the head with a bottle. It shatters over him and he collapses to the ground, dead weight. His equally drunk friend, who was about to attack me, looks from the unconscious man to the razor-sharp bottle neck in my hand. The man stumbles away, apologizing, and promising to go back to the ship.

      I sigh, and pick up the unconscious man, swinging him into a fireman's carry over my shoulders. I turn to Zoe and nod in the direction that the man just ran in. We start walking.

      "So let me get this straight," says Zoe. "We're working with the bad guys. Who want to kill me."

      "Because the Matron has the only transportation off the island."

      "Who wants to kill me."

      "She won't," I say, grinning.

      You really should have seen this coming.

      "You can't touch her." I say. I'm feeling gleeful, and I'm sure that I'm radiating an air of smugness that's setting the Matron on edge. Well, that and the fact that I stole away her first prize in manipulation.

      "You can't do this." She hisses.

      Except that I can. If I own Zoe's soul, the Matron can't touch her. I would be obliged, even within all of the complicated truces and agreements we have with one another, to pay back any harm threefold.

      I don't actually own Zoe's soul. But the Matron's not about to question my integrity. She has too much to lose.

      The Matron's sulking is so pronounced that I have to laugh. "I'm the devil!" I tell her, "Did you really think that I wasn't after anything for myself?"

      I'm on a family vacation to the States. There's an entire bulletin board dedicated to the "Ground Zero Mosque" in the lobby of the hotel. This starts me off on a rant about religious tolerance.

      The Joker kidnaps two children. They're probably more trouble than they're worth.

      I find a swimming pool in the shape of a tea infuser.

      I'm driving my dad's old Ford truck. We're carrying something explosive, and if we hit anything suddenly, everything will go up in flames. Suddenly, the brakes are failing, and I have three options: I can drive into a fence, a pile of logs, or a swamp.

      We hit the swamp, and the truck sinks into the muck and stops there. It's not sinking any farther though.

      My dad turns around and looks at me. He's about to start yelling.

      "Good thing this is a dream, right?" I say sheepishly.

      Pause.

      "Hey, this is a dream!"

      I spend the rest of the dream climbing buildings. I'm having trouble flying, but I find that if I swing my arms and move my feet, I can walk vertically up the side of walls.
