    1. SilverBullet's Newly Revised Key to Lucid Dreaming

      by , 06-17-2011 at 02:16 AM
(posted again due to the website data loss)

So, after much trail and error in my learning process about lucid dreaming I've come up with a much better thread than my last. This should help you with how to lucid dream the same way naturals lucid dream.

Now, I'm going to tell you that If you are the lazy kind of person who doesn't want to do reality checks, take supplements, watch for dream signs, use a dream journal, or meditate, then this technique is perfect for you. Because I don't do ANY of that stuff, and look at my lucid dream count. I started September 2010. I started like most people here, desperately wanting to lucid dream but still not even being able to remember my dreams. I started completely from scratch. Now, lets get to business. I'll try to do this in steps:

Step 1: First, you need to get rid of the idea that lucid dreaming is hard. Because it's actually VERY easy. The only thing stopping you from lucid dreaming is you. I don't like that fact that most people on this website spread the idea that lucid dreaming is hard, it's like a disease. Stop spreading it.

Step 2(this step is most important): FEEL that you were born a natural lucid dreaming master. That you are a Lucid dreamer with every cell in your body, like it's your destiny to lucid dream! Imagine that you have already attained your goal. Your subconscious doesn't know the difference between what you are imagining and what is happening.

Step 3: Do things as if you already have the "becoming aware in a dream" part down. Think about what you want to do once you are in a lucid dream. It can be anything. One good one is looking at your hands in a dream. Try to look at your hands once you are in a dream. You don't need to make a habit of looking at your hands in daily life. Just do it when you are in a dream. It may sound like this makes no sense, but it works.

Step 4(optional, but recommended): If you are lucid and the dream starts fading, remember to not move and don't open your eyes when you when you wake up. Then you can re-enter a dream quickly. You can do this many times and get many lucids. You can try this same thing with waking from non-lucid sleep, but I find it easier when you are lucid in the first place.

The reason why there isn't that many steps is because lucid dreaming is easy.
You don't need to be a rocket scientist to do it.

You can use these steps in combination with any technique you want, or no techniques at all. You can also use it for what kind of lucid you want.
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      TIPS:
Now here are some important tips for you, I'm not putting them in steps because It's not necessarily in order:

*Do not stress out about lucid dreaming, if you don't have a lucid dream don't let it bring you down. Be strong and keep going.

*You don't need a dream journal. But keep one if you want.
I'm not telling you to NOT keep one.

*I usually use this in combination with WBTB and the modification of WILD, which works best for me, try different things and find what works best for you.

*The surroundings of the room you sleep in can greatly effect your dreams. Did you know that if you sleep in a cold room you are more likely to get nightmares? Sleep in a warm room and you're more likely to get good dreams. The light level and smell of your room also effect dreams greatly. Right now there are smells that you don't even consciously notice but are currently effecting your mood and state of mind. And usually for me if I sleep with my light off and wake up in a dream then my dream will also be dark and if its on then my dream is brighter. That's just me though. Just make yourself comfortable.

*If WBTBs work better for you then you can use an alarm to wake you up or you can trust yourself to wake up at a certain time. Like I said, you can combine this technique with many other techniques.

*Don't try so hard. You need to trust your subconscious to do this.

*Being able to sleep is your first priority. So don't get too excited or you won't even be able to fall asleep.

*I strongly advise you read Carlos Castaneda's "The Art of Dreaming" book if you already haven't. If it weren't for that book I wouldn't be the lucid dreamer I am now.

*Every little detail I've put in this tutorial is very important.

*Don't talk about it just DO IT.

    2. Hostile Deer

      by , 06-17-2011 at 01:42 AM
      So.

I was in my backyard, and I saw this deer. I have nothing against deer,in fact, I think they are nice.

I believe I attacked this deer and I was in bad relations with this deer I saw in my backyard.

A little later, I found myself in possession of this thin strip of rubber (I think that's what it was?). I used this as my weapon, sort of as a whip. Sooner or later, I find this group of deer in my backyard about to take me on. Knowing that I'll be eaten by them all, I barely make it onto the monkey bars of this swingset and the deer are under neath these monkey bars trying to kill me.

    3. Make Stars and Move the Moon

      by , 06-17-2011 at 01:39 AM
This is a repost because the original was lost in the site crash.

      Nonlucid, Lucid, Partially lucid

June 9, '11: I am outside, and lucid. It is night. There are some stars and the moon in the sky. I remember my task and attempt to make more stars appear in the sky, using Active Control and hand movements.
This doesn't work. There is a tree nearby with little white flowers. I shake the tree and catch the falling petals in my hand. Then I throw the white petals into the air and they become faint stars in the sky. I do it again and make more stars. Then I try active control again, but it is not as effective.

I attempt to move the moon with my hand held close to my face and one eye closed, so my hand looks bigger than the moon.
I "push" the moon and it slowly begins to move. It is quite large now, and rolls across the horizon, to the right. It rolls in front of a gas station.

I slowly make the moon stop and roll the other way. It's like the moon is very heavy, so it doesn't stop or move right away. It rolls across the landscape to the left.

Note: Placing stars in the sky or moving the moon was one of KingYoshi's suggested tasks for his class on dream control.

    4. Quick Adventure..

      by , 06-17-2011 at 01:33 AM
I was approaching the outskirts of Chicago from the sky in a BMW X5. From here I see people sleeping and resting on their balconies on apartment buildings. These balconies are covered with towels.

It was gradually getting darker into the night and I drove this BMW X5 around this ghettoish neighborhood. I ended up parking in an alley behind this house and I walked into the house through the back door. I spend some time standing in a living room for a while, until I realize someone is going to about to break into the house through the door I entered in. The intruder was a man, likely some gang member, with a revolver. I then entered another room in the house, an office.

In this office, I find the Numa Numa guy or someone who at least looked like him with a fake, toy AK-47. The office also looks like the numa numa guy's room.

After this, the numa numa guy actually fends off this gangster with his toy ak-47 and that's pretty much it

    5. The "Inception" Technique - Tried and True

      by , 06-17-2011 at 01:28 AM
This technique was proposed elsewhere on this forum, but I cannot find the original thread to give credit where credit is due. I do not claim rights to this technique.

      THE INCEPTION TECHNIQUE

Having seen lots of success reports in the original thread, but not actually being able to find the original thread to provide a link, I have decided to repost this technique with a fresh title and add few details and ideas of my own.

      The Prerequisites:

Learn all you possibly can about lucid dreaming and practice some of the basics. Read Wikipedia articles. Watch the Discovery Channel's clip on dreams on YouTube. Learn how sleep and sleep cycles work. Get in the habit of doing reality checks and learn to become aware of everything around you. Keep a religious dream journal and really stimulate your dream recall. Identify dream signs. I recommend at least one successful DILD before moving on to this so you know what it is like to become lucid while already in the dream state.

      The Technique:
I chose to call this the Inception technique because it's cool and, like in Inception, you will use an induction device attached to your wrist. The induction device in question is a 1-inch square piece of cardboard. Make a light-fitting bracelet using this piece of cardboard as a "centerpiece" and wear it to bed.

The first picture depicts the proper way to wear your piece of cardboard. It should touch your wrist lightly but completely. From what I gathered in the original thread, this spot on the wrist is a pressure point that increases your awareness during a dream and thus increases your chance at attaining lucidity. I myself have found it very effective when worn correctly.

Yes (this position on the wrist is critical):

NO: (if you wear it like this the pressure point will not work correctly)

And that's it really... Go to sleep as normal at a reasonable time and avoid eating junk food before bed. You may find the cardboard slightly annoying but that's part of the point. Post back with your results and maybe some pictures of your Inception bracelet I personally like to attach my cardboard to a rubber band so it is easily removable in the morning. Cheers!

      The Dream is Real!

Whoever first posted this technique, PM me and I'll be happy to edit the post and give you credit.

    6. Mother picks me up on a boat.

      by , 06-17-2011 at 01:21 AM
I'm in Chicago, at Lake Michigan. I'm at some island with my grandmother and it's nighttime. My mother is picking us up by boat at the dock of this island.

For some reason in this dream I require a small rowboat-type boat to get onto the boat my mother is on. Unfortunately, that boat had drifted away a few meters. My mother throws me a life preserver but I choose not to go into the water because I don't want to get wet.
    7. 10 minute nap said I put this on facebook

      by , 06-17-2011 at 01:18 AM
I just took a ten-minute nap and had a dream in which I had posted on Facebook that I had a short dream and people were commenting on it, I think one even denied that I had a dream, saying that I was dreaming.
      Umm..... Whhhaaaaaa...?????
    8. Affirmation to help lucidity.

      by , 06-16-2011 at 11:02 PM
Posted a few days ago but DV went down so the thread got deleted. ill use it as an opportunity to revise some things.

Many of you have probably read the thread about how if you really believe you will get lucid you can with very little effort like natural dreamers do (if not you should).
The problem is that if you have a hard time becomeing lucid, you will probably doubt yourself a little. So i tried the same thing for something i wouldnt doubt. That night i decided to have an awesome dream, and ended up inadvertantly thinking of one of my favorite dream scenes. that night i had the dream i thought of, and upon seeing it i became lucid. So this is a variation of what i mentioned above, except for using it for something you will not doubt if you have doubts about becoming lucid. all you do is pick something you can have 100% confidence in, from seeing a certian reoccuring dreamsign, to being as general as having a fun dream. after this visualize what you want. also keep your affirmation short, i was thinking "i will dream of x" and seeing x was enough to get me lucid, and i believe "i will dream of x and x will make me lucid" is less effective since it is long and has excess parts. in all this shouldnt take more than a few seconds, but this is all just my hypothesis so if people can test it and post results i will appreciate it.

    9. Getting the hang of lucidity

      by , 06-16-2011 at 09:20 PM
DEILD/WBTB- Exited a dream because I had to go to the bathroom so I did my usual routine and then went back to sleep. 2 minutes later I was in a lucid dream.

I remember waking up and telling myself that I wanted to have clarity in this dream. So I kept using the word resolve to increase clarity, I was screaming it in the dream and it really worked. Everything would amplify once I said it. I first performed a nose plug to make sure I was dreaming, it came out positive so I started by trying to fly. I could never get myself to fly in my dreams so the first thing I did was jump in the air, I floated and came back down slowly. I then got into the superman position to try to fly and it worked but it didn't feel real at all, and I couldn't look around. I then had a false awakening, I suddenly just woke up in my bed from the dream and my parents were yelling at me. I did another nose plug and I was STILL in a dream, so I just kept going and ignored the stupid DC's. Next, I warped through the wall. I Always heard of people doing this and it seemed awsome.. It was
I just walk straight through it and de atomize the door in the process, I could literally de construct things this time. But the wall or door was still intact once I moved through it. I looked at a desk I was walking by and said "resolve" out loud again everything grew vibrant and colorful. I remember there being a golden tulip and some red roses, along with a few pictures of people sitting on this desk. I had nothing left to practice on, so I tried summoning again. I can't quite just imagine it there and it'll be there but going into a closet and coming back out worked perfectly. It even surprised me in the dream when the DC was there... My parents came down while I was talking to a DC and were all pissed because I was smoking moldy weed apparently, they thought it could kill you. I never said a word to them but they just kept going on, I need to learn how to kill my DC's. A bunch of other stuff happened but I can't really remember, I've only been practicing dream control in lucids lately. If anyone has any tips or fun things to do please leave a comment or message me

    10. Randomness Continues...6/16/11(Early Morning)

by , 06-16-2011 at 09:16 PM (INeverWakeUp's Super Dream Journal)
I find myself in the school(DS :headdesk: ) auditorium. We're doing absolutely nothing. We're all sitting here like a bunch of retards. Suddenly, the song "Brain Stew" by Green Day comes on. I sake my head and smile. I love this song. Isaiah, whom I'm sitting next to is pleased to hear a Green Day song as well. Now, after each two power chord strum, everyone claps. I'm really starting to enjoy this. Now, we reach an explicit line of the song. Oddly, it isn't censored. "Fucked up and spun out in my room." That was the lyric. Not to mention it pops up twice in the song. Now, we all go back to our homerooms(DS). I sit down, and for some reason, all of my clothes vaporize! Holy shit! I'm...I'm...I the nude... I run over into the next room, knowing that it's not in use. I put some papers over my crotchal area. Phew. Now, Mr. McBee(DS) comes in. Hey! What the fuck man?! Can't I have a little privacy. Now, Mr. McBee wants me to go to the office. You've gotta fucking mental if you think I'm walking to the office like this! So, he goes up to the office to get their clothing supply for me. He comes back, and he said all they had was girls' clothing. :guntohead: Mr. McBee(DS) now decides to make up a fake story. I'm an exchanged student from a foreign school who'll be here the rest of today. He shows me everything I need to wear, which includes a girl wig. The rest was a Japanese school girl sailor suit.

I'm surprisingly convincing. But it's still extremely weird that I'm cross dressing. Now we all head outside to the school(DS) yard. We see some professionals from NASA have shown up. They've set out scale models of experiments they're working. They've discovered most of the planets in the galaxy now. Amazing! They've organized them all. Volcano planets, deserted planets, etc. Interesting. Now, some asshole kid fucks with one of the scale models. He gets into big trouble. Now we decide to have a football game. I see Mr. Brown(DS) deciding on the players. I see Red gets accepted, and so do I. Now, as I run into the field, my disguise flies off, and I
      awake.

    11. My dad is one tricky DC

      by , 06-16-2011 at 09:07 PM
I was inside a burning building tell my friends and brother to get out. Then I'm outside by a pool I'm also talking to a girl I don't look at her, she is instructing me to eat out a woman in front of me I gladly do. Then the woman changes into a floating bed for a pool "weird" I think to myself then I ask myself if I'm dreaming, then I do a reality check I pinch my nose and breath in it works. I soon become excited and began to try and control the element I shout each, first I shout "WIND!" and shove my hand forward and sure enough a burst of wind with extraordinary power blows in the direction I'm pointing then I try the other element and everyone seem to fail. I began to get in raged by this, I start to scream out in anger and suddenly the environment changes violently, the sky becomes blood red and rains fire, I begin to get louder, I shove both hands forward at a small bridge and it explodes in fiery of fire. I smile and become drunk with rage and violence I began to destroy the world around me homes and woods. Someone grabs and tells no, commands me to stop what I'm doing, at first I refuse then I hear my fathers strong voice. He yells at me to stop and ask me what I'm doing "It is only a dream dad I'm not hurting and body." I say in a calm voice he tells me I'm not dreaming. I'm then ravaged by sorrow and regret for what I've done I began to look at the damage then I wake

    12. The odd jealous brother

      by , 06-16-2011 at 09:02 PM
I am playing football with some of the guys from my neighborhood. As we play I notice a good size fence at the boundary of the neighborhood that has never been there before. I see a girl from my school so running I run and climb the fence, one of the girls noticed me and start to leave so I followed them. I came upon a large estate and it seem that a girl that I hate from my school is the owner. It would seem to be a large mansion like house is her home, so I enter she and a friend of her's are driving in circles in some kind of large trunk with something written on the side the girl I saw earlier she there, she is sitting in one of the trucks also, she seems angry. Then everything change I am in the large mansion and I am with the girl from earlier, she says she wants to leave and come to my house. She has had a disagreement with the girl I hate so, now we are passing through many rooms of the house. we soon are in my neighborhood and then I lose my sight I can only see shapes but, I can tell her shape from others it's like a four year old was drawing my sight for me. then we are near my house and the girl now I remember her name was Jessica. She looks in the distance and comments on a guy how "hot" he is. My worst fears are soon realized as my sight returns to normal and my brother comes into full view and he takes her from me. I soon become jealous but, the weird part is I never liked this girl and her face was beautiful instead of what it looked like in real life

not sure when this was a lot of dreams in my head and I need to record them

    14. Morning of 6/16

      by , 06-16-2011 at 08:09 PM (SCPantera's Dream Journal)
Had a handful of sequences tonight, but I can only recall one:

I was on House's team; we had a patient with some condition that had us stumped. We were all off working various tests and I was discussing the case with Chase when I suggested the patient's problems may be the result of a genetic condition that's caused by an extra X or Y chromosome. We took this idea to House and for some reason testing this idea required us all to go down to an elaborate cave system below the hospital. We explore the cave a short ways in and talk about stuff, and at some point I went back up to the hospital to retrieve something and as I was about to go back down to the cave I noticed several suspicious looking people with guns enter the hospital through a back entrance. As I got back down to the cave I heard a PA announcement that the hospital was being taken over by terrorists. We discussed how we might hide from them in the cave, but House was convinced they'd search every inch of the cave and find us.
    15. Missing a Concert

by , 06-16-2011 at 08:00 PM (Sailing the Noosphere)
I'm living with my college roommate in a Covington city apartment. I'm going to a concert by The Dear Hunter, one of my favorite bands, but he's not coming along. I decide to walk, and as I do so I pass the library. There I run into two of my favorite high school teachers, Dr. C and Mr. G. We talk about music for a while, but then we go our separate ways. When I get to the venue, it's very crowded in line, and I have to wait for a while. When I get to the front, the bouncer tells me I can't bring my knife in, so I have to run back home to drop it off. The streets seem to change from what I know them in real life, and the distance must be more, for when I get back to the venue the band is done playing. The room is still crowded, but there is no music.
